Went for a biz lunch on a Friday. Was not busy but food was good. Had the fish ceviche which was very good. I had the limo saltado lunch special which was tasty but a little tough/chewy. My guest had chicken/beef empanadas. Tasted the chicken which was good. I'd go back again with my wife and give it another go. Dinner probably. read more

Thanks to my fellow yelpers for yelping about maras kitchen! Beef empanadas and Maura's civiche are two things I had, BOTH were amazing. Empanadas were crunchy on outside with juicy beefy beef inside. I've never had civiche before so I have nothing to compare it to, but this was fresh, clean, and I asked for it spicy or "hot" and it was on fire!!!! Love. Please try it and this place will continue to make unpretentious yummy food! I love Latin food and I'm glad there's a place like Maura's on this side of the Hudson. read more

Food was good and tasty. Service was not. Very short on staff caused one waiter for whole place and no attention to table needs. Drinks were weak more like juice than mixed cocktail. Easy things to fix since food was very good. read more

Heading into Nyack regularly I noticed this corner eatery/takeout for Peruvian food and knew I wanted to try it. There's a steam table for quick pick-up and fast service and a menu with many more items. Friday and Sat. Maura serves many seafood options. Went with my kids who loved it! They had fried Yuca fries (they wonder why we normally use potatoes), rice and beans and we shared seafood options, a good Mariscos (Paella) and a seafood soup. Really casual, affordable and great food. Only a couple of mos. old; we hope she really catches on so we can count on her thriving in this location! read more

Delicious is simply an understatement. Don't waste anymore time wondering people!! go and indulge in some of the best Peruvian food I've had in life. The service, the empanadas, even down to the alcoholic beverages was top notch... & the food.... just forget about it!!! Absolutely impeccable. Trust me, you won't regret it.. read more

I come here JUST for the ceviche I have never ordered anything else. The ceviche is pretty damn good although I much prefer the one from el anzuelo but this will hit the spot, taste very fresh and good and not a bad price for rockland county. Can't really comment on anything else but my mother said the rest of the food was new so I won't bother trying and wasting my money. read more

Average Peruvian food.We stopped on our way home from a trip to Jersey. The lomo saltado was served with what tasted like frozen french fries. Peruvian saltados are far better when fresh housemade fries are used. The chicha was watered down and had no flavor. Hopefully there are other Peruvian options in the area which showcase the wonderful food which is Peruvian. Would not come back or recommend. read more

Food and service is great. It's a nice place to dine in with friends or family. It is often filled so do make a reservation in advance. I ordered the chimichurri steak and empanadas and they are really good. I would definitely go back. read more

Excellent dish, owners are wonderful and conscientious and care about the food they make!!! Old World and home style food. Do not be turned off by decor. The owner is tested the waters still and after 14 months in business, they are upgrading and decorating. He's making money because the food is good! read more

Superior Peruvian food in a cute restaurant. We came here once before, but could not get in without a reservation. After the kids dumped us, wifey dearest and I went on line looking for a Groupon. Some other Peruvian place reminded us we wanted to come here, and we trekked from the distant lands of Bergen County all the way to Nyack. No mean feat on Sunday evening in the summer. We started with drinks. My wife had a very strong summer sangria, and I had a Peruvian margarita. The sangria was nice, though I've had better margaritas. That was the low point. We shared the empanadas -- two chicken and one beef. They were easily the best, tastiest I have ever had. Beware the chicken has a kick, which I loved. Not super hot, but if you don't like spicy, let them know. My wife had a half chicken special. It was served with delicious homemade French fries and a lettuce and avocado salad. Excellent. My meal was Maura's ceviche. I had it only with tilapia. It was served with Peruvian giant corn (I can't remember the word for it) and sweet potato. Also excellent. The staff was friendly and efficient. Prices are reasonable. We will be coming back. read more

Quiero hacer el amor con estas placas. Translation= I want to make love to these plates. Or at least, that's what Google Translation tells me it is. I've gone to a "Peruvian" restaurant before, and I say "Peruvian" with quotes not because I'm a snide ass-bag or because I don't believe it's a real location (you know yo' girl took geography in college, holla back) but because the last "Peruvian" restaurant was not authentic; it was like 5%, if even. This was my first, true Peruvian experience. Now that it's over I want it back in my life!! Ceviche sampler was baller. Pisco sours are now the grown up, respectable version of my 18 year old drinking hay-days of amaretto sours. I completely forget what my entree was called and everyone else at my table, but everyone thoroughly enjoyed their dish. Sweet little find! I would be going so much more often if it were closer to me. This is, as always, a real and truthful review from: ~Brutally Anonymous~ read more

Found Maura's on Google Maps looking for a half way meeting point with an old friend and his wife. Looked at the web site and menu and decided it was worth a shot. And it was! Great food, surprising palette , great service and we met the very gracious and accommodating Maura herself. Great vibe. Go! read more

Been here many times for dinner and the food was always good. Stop in yesterday for a drink at the bar at 5:00 and service was poor and unfriendly. Hesitantly. Returned tonight for dinner and it was not great. My steak was over cooked and tough and the shrimp did not seem fresh, very fishy. We ate at a high top in Bar area so bartender was our server. She was not friendly and after taking our order ignored us for rest of meal. She was busy making drinks but management should have a wait staff serving those tables on a busy night. Hostess had time to repeatedly go Outside and smoke but nobody could refill our water. That was my last time eating at Maura's kitchen. Too bad. It seems like so many Nyack restaurants are going downhill. read more

My wife is Peruvian, and we've been to many Peruvian restaurants in Port Chester, NYC, and New Jersey. Last week, we ordered what we thought were three chickens from Maura's. The bill was almost $80! When we got home, we were shocked to see that an order at Maura's is a 1/2 chicken. Non-GMO or not, that's way too much money for a 1/2 chicken. A whole chicken at Panca in Greenwich Village in NYC is $19! Maybe the prices are ridiculously higher because they moved from the corner of Midland Ave. to Broadway? We like supporting local but geeze! Whatever the reason, we will not be back. There are plenty of other Peruvian places that are authentically delicious and much more reasonable. read more

Exceptional food! We love the ceviches. The only minus I would like to mention is that the bartender seems very unfriendly and lacks any personality. Sometimes it may appear to verge on rude. It was the same attitude during both of our visits. The food is so good, though, that I'm giving it 5 stars anyway read more

Wonderful clean redesign of the former space. However lacking detail to artwork and light bulbs in the otherwise fabulous lighting. The friendly and warm staff greatly accent the cuisine which is outstanding in its Latin field. Cerviche platter was perfectly acidic and filled with a cornucopia of delectable seafood, accented with the perfect balance of a starch here and there. The shrimp tapas was generously portioned and delectable. We will definitely return to sit at the sexy bar for more sangria and tapas. read more

came here on a whim when I was visiting and, so glad I did! It's a bit more than I generally like to pay for food but then again I'm not from the area. I come from this area of the world and the food was not only delicious but authentic. In particular I always like a good ceviche, and to feel it tastes fresh and tasty - this one certainly did the trick. So did the empanadas, which are hard to get not too oily or not too doughy. From what I hear the tilapia dish was awesome, and I would definitely try the chowder if I had the chance to come again. I think if I lived in the area I would try to come here at least once a month - not only was the food awesome but it weirdly made me feel 'at home' read more

the food is authentically Peruvian and has been a favorite spot since we traveled to Peru late year. great cocktail menu. love it!!

My wife and I were looking for a nice place to eat so we googled restaurants in Nyack, NY and this place came out. We decided to try it, the decor is nice enough but I would have liked to see more decor of their native country (since it was a Peruvian restaurant), the service was great and the waitress was knowledgeable. The food is not traditional Peruvian food but with good flavor. The price was a little above average so the experience was not what I expected but good enough to try. read more
