The "Knockout" Punch is limited to 2 per guest for good reason - it is incredibly strong! Mash'D management changed recently I believe and so did the menu...for the worst? I got the same chicken taco plate a few weeks back and it didn't come with what felt like 2 cups of rice as a side. Got stuck in my throat along with the tacos with the overall dryness of the plate. I would not recommend that on the menu. Perhaps opt for a motor city pizza as they are deep dish and the 6 cylinder is enough for one person if you have a big appetite. read more

Yesterday was my very FIRST time coming here. I passed by this place a few weeks ago and have been stalking their yelp ever since. Not only was the food as delicious as I hoped it would be, but surprisingly what blew me away was how I was treated when I walked in to pick up my order. I wish I got their names but the staff who worked on 7/7/2020 went ABOVE and BEYOND to make me happy. Not only did every single one of them have a genuine smile on their faces, but they made sure I did from the second I walked in to the second I left. I could tell they enjoyed working their and I almost didn't want to leave! They all worked together to make sure my order was right and FRESH, and even offered me a drink (which was delicious) for waiting. I hope management sees this review and knows they amazing staff working for them. I will be back no doubt. I plan to try the whole menu and some more drinks and utilize their cute patio which is filled with plants and hanging lights and bar that connects to the bar through a window. Mash'd is a complicated place. With many things being positive and many being negative. This review is just for the food at Mash'd. We've placed a pickup to-go order for 5 items: Crab & Shrimp Volcano - 2 stars. Though the idea is good, the shrimp was simply very fishy and old. Which ruined the dish completely. Biscuits - 2 stars. Flavorless, with the consistency of a small rock of dough. Turkey burger - 2 stars. Dry, unflavored, and the turkey was so over-salted our eyes were watering. Avocado bomb - 5 stars. This dish was a winner, and the only thing we as a group ending up eating - while throwing most of the rest of the food away. The rustic - 3 stars. Bland with oversalted bacon (though the bacon wasn't oversalted in the other dishes). Vanilla pudding dessert with ice cream - 4 stars. This dessert was good. Good flavor, and great consistency. Overall, the food at Mash'd is similar to a college bar quality. It has some hits but more misses. If you don't mind that kind of food then this is the place for you. We didn't get to try the drinks as they don't do those to go (understandable), and the atmosphere seemed cool if we had decided to dine-in. The only other thing that was bad is that there was no dedicated line / place for pickup orders. So we had to wait 20 minutes for the hostess to get around to talk to us to get the food that was sitting on the table. It wasn't her fault, as there were 15 people lined up at the entrance waiting to be seated. Which on a side note - if you're trying to do social distancing for COVID, really doesnt work here. The place was packed with people on top of each other at the entrance. I ended up having to wait inside for the food standing 2 feet next to 2 other tables. Unfortunately, we won't be back. My wife and I (use to) eat here every time we came out to Frisco; whether it me Nebraska Furniture Mart or what have you. The service tonight sealed the deal for us to take Mash'd off the list. The last two times we've been here the service was horrible. Tonight, our Waitress Susie, was so flippant and dismissive of us. She was talking to everyone else BUT us. An old or current (off the clock) employee came in and spent time talking at the hostess stand forever. The food was good, and usually is. But when you're eating something spicy, don't count on having refills in a timely manner; or at all. They won't put more ice in your drink and bring you warm tea when a refill does finally make it to the table. In conclusion, I'm typically very patient and understanding with wait staff especially when an establishment is busy; however, given how slow it was...I would have assumed we would have had a more attentive waitress. read more

My friend made a reservation at 12 for 5 people for her bday and when we arrived they took her name and said it would be a few minutes. Then the hostess came and said that they didn't have any tables for us and we needed to wait (it already had been 15 min) or we could do a bartop table for the 5 of us but we would have to be done and gone by 12:45 which would give us 30 mins to sit, order, drink, eat our meal and pay. I complained to a manager who said they "couldn't tell anyone when to leave" to which I told him about what his hostess said about us having to leave at 12:45. We finally got a table at 12:20 and have not been checked on by that manager or offered any compensation for the trouble they caused us and the birthday girl on her special day. The alcohol is overpriced for what you get. It's $10.50 for a $6 drink anywhere else. The food was decent but the service was just not there. The atmosphere was okay but they were playing annoying reality TikTok clips on TV and that sort of thing just really downgrades the ambience for me. I'd rather have no tv, than something stupid on. Super busy on a Sunday evening! Our server tried his best though. We had the sriracha butter Parmesan chicken wings which were the perfect crisp and just tasted awesome. It comes with a side of ranch. I had the open faced salmon burger with seasoned fries. The burger was good, but they no longer put them in the French bread like the pictures. It's just in a regular burger bun :( The server did say that they could do it on request, so just ask! The seasoned fries were sick though!! I just gobbled them all up. Even the ketchup is flavored - nice... My husband got the chicken and biscuits. Chicken is fried nicely. But oh that heavenly sauce is amazing!! The small portion comes with 2 pieces of chicken while the big portion comes with 4. It's only a couple dollars more so you get more bang for your buck. A cool feature that I noticed was the dining area had cool/ funny YouTube videos streaming, Hgtv, and the food network. Leave the sports stuff to the bar. On this episode of Bougie, Boozy, Brunch the crew ventured to local Frisco treasure...Mash'd. As the appointed friendship project manager I coordinated this event and made a reservation on Open Table for 6. I was able to come in like a boss, tell the hostess my name and we were seated immediately. The guest star this week was our wonderful waitress Riley. She was so attentive, personable, and sweet. Our group can get a bit rowdy, but she never missed a beat. We kicked off our order with a craft of blood orange mimosa. I typically order grapefruit juice with my mimosa but the blood orange makes for a great alternative. Good balance of tartness and sweetness that I like. Now to the the food. We decided on an appetizer which I can't remember the name of to save my life, but it was AMAZING. It was a spin on deviled eggs. Toasted baguette base topped with a soft boiled egg and picked onions. Almost ordered another one but I knew I had to save room for what I really came here for. The Mash'd chicken and biscuits are what dreams are made of. You get two cheddar biscuits topped with two juicy chicken breasts which are than smothered with "chuck norris" gravy. Riley informed me I could get two eggs added on top for no charge. Say what?! This is why she is the true MVP. I chose to have my eggs over medium. If you thought that was enough, you are mistaken. Someone hold my mimosa, cause I went in for the thick cut bacon as well. This is one of my favorite brunch meals and deserving of my personal top rating titled #fistbumptojesus. Came in for brunch and was blown away. Chicken and biscuits was amazing. Chuck Norris sauce is an accurate description and the breading on the chicken is incredible as well. Monster portion And plenty of chicken, and a good balance of everything on the plate. it felt like every bite could have a little bit of everything I wanted. The chicken wasn't dried out, the breading wasn't overdone, I feel like this is the new standard for this type of dish. The unholy one was good as well, could almost be handled as a sandwich, but just as good with a fork. Having breaded chicken in French toast didn't feel like too much bread and the toast was overpoweringly sweet. The jalapeño sauce on the side is a perfect compliment to the savory chicken. They have a variety of mimosas with moonshine so you can pick your favorite and for $2 they are both delicious and do the job quickly,. They are dangerously tasty so have a driver or strong willpower. They have a window that was open to the crisp outside, so bring a jacket if you're cold natured, though after the drinks we were pretty comfortable. They have a variety of seating including booths, park benches and high tops. WARNING COFFEE DRINKERS: for $6 you get a French press of some questionable brew and $2 refills with the little cups of half n half and sugar caddy. It's not great... not sure what they used, but any diner has better and cheaper and free refills. The presentation is cute, the coffee itself is not good for the cost, so drink up before you come and enjoy a mimosa instead. Overall I was super impressed other than the coffee. Came here with a friend for dinner. We ate in the bar area but service was great there so no complaints. The bar itself is long and there are plenty of high tops and a few booths in there to make it not too crowded and not overly loud. I had some Pineapple bomb drink and it was just like drinking fall weather in a cup - absolutely amazing. Had a vanilla bean and cinnamon and pineapple mooshine merge that seriously was one of the best drinks I have had in a while. I tried the Sangria but that was meh. Hard pass on that and go for the pineapple drink. You'll thank me. As far as food went, everything was great. We started with the corn spinach dip. It seemed like an odd combo but honestly was really quite good. Gooey with cheese and the corn added good texture from a normal spinach dip. Also tried the meatloaf. It comes with a spicy ketchup topping and a true southern comfort taste paired with the mashed potatoes. If you like your moms original recipe you may not like the flavor from the ketchup but I have to say, I was a fan. Definitely enjoyed this plavce and can't wait to come back and try more things here. Wow! This place was amazing! We were in town visiting and stopped here before heading home. The host was super friendly and got us seated quickly even with a large party. Was craving some chicken wings so I found this place and ordered sriracha and garlic butter chicken wings. I thought it was ok - the texture/skin was not crispy as if it was not fried longer enough. The flavor wasn't so bad but the smell of it reminded me of something damp. I should have asked for a new batch but I lost my appetite after a while. If I tell you I loved my food so much on Friday that I had to return on Saturday!! Friday I had the chicken with slaw and fries. I ordered the Arnold Palmer for my drink and it was beautifully separated in the glass. Just so pretty as if I was about to drink an alcoholic beverage.(I don't drink but admire the art in it). I learned that this restaurant doesn't have sweet tea. So you will need to add a pack of sugar. Saturday I tried the Bulgogi tacos with lemon rice and I was blown completely away! Came here for a meeting and sat in the back private area. Our server was very kind and helpful as our group continued to show up- she always made sure we had a drink and everyone was comfortable. The food was tasty and served quickly. The only challenge was eating in that back room; the center table was low (at about knee level) and the built-in seating didn't allow for us to scoot up. Many who had meals with forks had to hold their plate to eat, which was a little awkward. There were also a couple of leaks in the ceiling, and as it was raining that day, two of our party had to move around since they were being dripped on. This place was just okay to me. The food gets 2 stars and the waiter and the ambiance gets the 3. The rest of the unfriendly staff members gets 1. My waiter (drake tattoo on the back of neck) was really nice and helpful. Especially because it was me and my guest's first time. She walked us through the whole menu with no complaints. After the walk through we ordered the deviled eggs, the rebellious burger with fries (they were cold) and an order of the queso. Was not impressed at all and I am a burger connoisseur so very disappointed. The deviled eggs were trying to be unique, key word trying. and the queso tasted old and chalky. I had only one drink from them which came in a mason jar. Something about mason jars really look cool. Strong and sweet! Can't remember the name :-/ I also had a delicious pile of fried chicken with potatoes! Oh I was in love! But I couldn't finish it so I had to take home! This place is awesome for patio weather! We sat outside and were able to have the bar seating on the patio but still see inside with a huge counter so bartenders can work both sides. Very friendly and knowledgable staff. Very delicious drinks. They were not too strong or sweet. The inside is cool. It's all wooden and lots of chalk boards and barrel type decor. The bathrooms are very dark with overhead dim lighting. I like this place so I'll be back. read more
