I have stopped at this little local spot when visiting my aunt twice now and it's a definite hidden gem. They have breakfast all day and tacos on flour or corn tortillas. Barbacoa, Chicken and Egg and Bacon were on my plate today. All of them were so flavorful and delicious. My niece had beans and rice and ordered a second because they were so good. They have the three different salsas when dining in, red (mild), green (medium) and green crema (looks like crema based- hot). The chips are light and crispy. They apparently have Chile Rellenos on Wednesdays and then Tamales (one or a dozen) on Fridays. I highly recommend making this a stop if you are in the area. read more

Excellent authentic Mexican food. When you walk in you are greeted with warm smiles and customer service you would expect from a high class restaurant. The first time I went, they could tell I was new and happily answered all the questions I had. The wait for the food was very quick, even though there was a line going outside the door. I ordered 2 breakfast burritos and rice and beans. When I got the food it was hot, Smelled wonderful, and was neatly packed and wrapped in containers and bags. For the abnormally low price of the food, I was very very pleased. The service, quality, and atmosphere of Martha's was what you would expect to pay triple the price for anywhere else. The owner and workers are a very humble and nice family, who I can tell loves to make food and serve others. The food was very fresh and had a homemade taste that I had never experienced before. The flavor was unlike any other Mexican food I have every eaten, and I eat Mexican at least 3 times a week. It makes me so happy when you get to experience food and service so excellent. It's refreshing since it has become less common. I highly highly highly recommend this place if you are every near Denton TX and want some authentic Mexican. If you ever do go, make sure to get their spiciest light green salsa. It's the hottest and most flavorful salsa I've ever had. This is a true Americana "Mom n Pops" joint. Its tiny inside but spotlessly clean and full of pride. Plenty of parking and good signage out front. Martha was on the grill and everyone had on Covid PPE. I ordered the Martha special with beef and cheddar cheese(to go). The portion size was "great" but it was a $10 price. I would have given 5 stars if the plate was $8 bucks. The flavors are fantastic!!! and I enjoyed every bite. The hot green sauce was superb. I stopped by Martha's Tacos on a late Wednesday afternoon after dropping off a Job application and boy oh boy am I glad I stopped. I had the Chiles Rellenos which is their Wednesday special and it was the best Chiles Rellenos I have ever had. Packed with flavor without being overpowering, and once you add in their homemade salsas... perfection, and great friendly service too. I hope I get hired in Ponder so I can make this my regular lunch spot! read more

Umm..we thought we were going to have a better experience then what we had. The reviews made it seem like this was the hot spot but it wasn't. There wasn't a wow factor and the food was missing alot of flavor. We ordered a wide range of the breakfast tacos and wish we would have kept driving. The eggs were a little rubbery and the "I think it was chorizo" was really really salty like I need to drink a big cup of water to help dilute the amount of sodium I just ingested. I think they could focus more on flavors and less on how many meals they can get out the door and this place could be better. read more

Just drove 25 minutes to try this place out and it was worth every minute! Because her answer was "everything is great" when I asked what she recommended, I tried several thing. Pork street taco on corn tortialla with cilantro and onions was awesome. Tortilla was incredible. Chicken taco on flour tortilla was incredible. I only got flour because I had to try it out to make sure homemade...yes it was. Next time I'll stick with the corn however because that's the way a Mexican street taco is supposed to be eaten! Beef gordita with cilantro, onion and "mexican cheese" (she asked "do you want Mexican cheese or American cheese"). I don't know what the star of the show was. The gordita was incredible but so were the tacos. I think the star may actually be the two green hot sauces they serve. They bring out a creamy green sauce that's pretty spicy, another green sauce that's a little chunkier and it's got a little spice, and then a normal red sauce. The creamy spicy sauce was awesome. I'll definitely make this a weekly stop from now on. Who cares what the outside of the place looks like, the service and food were outstanding. read more

Everything is homemade, the owners are sweet and always glad for your business, and the portions are more than appropriate. The everything burrito is amazing, the tamales are always tasteful, and the pozole is enough for two meals. They have tacos, street tacos, gorditas, etc. If you want good Mexican food and to support homemade food, Martha's is the place to go! read more
