Best chilaquiles I've ever had! The chorizo breakfast burrito is huge and delicious. Loaded with eggs, potatoes, chorizo, and cheese. Very filling and a good price. The service was great and the staff were very friendly and helpful. I couldn't decide between the chilaquiles and another breakfast dish, and the server recommended the chilaquiles and I'm so glad she did! I love authentic Mexican food, especially breakfast. We stopped in here after spending the morning at Hawaiian Falls. They started us with fresh fried chips and two bottles of salsa - both addictive. We ordered the Carne Adovada at the waitress's suggestion and she did not lead us astray. The sauce was smoky and full of flavor. We both used the tortillas to clean the plate! Sorry, husband dug into it too fast to get a picture. We also ordered barbacoa and al pastor tacos and they were filled! The onion and cilantro garnish was fresh and plentiful. Service was ok, i called in my order but when i got there idk i literally had to tell them im here to pick up my order. She was kinda silent tbh the ambiance was neat decorated. I got 4 tacos Pastor, Barbacoa,Carnitas,Asada. None of them really stood out the tacos were small and not much meat. For $2.50 a taco i at least want a good sized taco. Holy cow is this place off the charts for authentic Mexican food. It's in a strip center, so "behind the scenes type presentation" but the food of super flavorful and large portions. Start with homemade chips and salsa (red & green--try dots on a chip to start). The steak and potatoes is a large portion and a best seller. We picked enchiladas that was amazing (can get 4 or 6) $12 for 6. Beans are supreme and worth a side order if your meal doesn't come with it. Staff is very accommodating. Yey! Happy we found this place. It is near our golf cart dealership, Evolution Superstore in Roanoke. We took our food to go because we had to open shop. Since it was a Saturday, we got to try their menudo.. yumminess! If you like menudo, get it at this place. It's legit. Flavorful soup and tripe was tender and bigger chunks than most places We also got Tacos - Al Pastor (pork) and Carne asada. Very good flavors and the meat is tender. Good sized tacos. Tried breakfast at Mil Amores today and it was delicious! We were immediately offered their hot chocolate with cinnamon. I can't quite describe it - it has a different flavor than the hot chocolate I am used to and it has a thicker consistency. I'd recommend you try it! I ordered a bean and cheese taco with bacon (not on the menu but they were happy to make it) and a ham, egg and cheese taco. I would definitely order each of them again. I topped them off with their green sauce and a little sprinkle of salt on the eggs and I was a happy girl! My fiancé ordered the breakfast burrito, which had eggs, cheese, potatoes and your choice of meat. He chose chorizo, which he said was excellent and not greasy, as some chorizos are. The potatoes were cut to just the right side and were cooked perfectly. One of the owners spent quite a bit of time talking with us about her home in Mexico and their desire to offer that "home cooked" food to others. They weren't homemade but were perfectly cooked. Meat: 5/5. Tried asada, pastor, and carnitas. The carnitas were out of this world. Definitely need to try these. Portions were larger than normal and I could barely eat the 4 tacos I ordered, which is unusual. Salsa: 4/5. Very tasty. Came in squeeze bottles. Tried the green and red salsas and both were good. Been looking for a great local taco place since moving here! FINALLY the search is over. Usually suspect of 5 star reviews but this place is legit! If you live in the Roanoke / Argyle / TC / Northlake area and love tacos, you NEED to check this place out! Got pork (pastor), fish (pescado) and steak (carne asada). All of these were excellent! Super flavorful and delicious. I would say that pork was the best, followed by fish and then steak. The portions are good and super fresh. The real deal They hit every dish out the park & it was all fresh & delicious. We have a couple Mexican spots in the area but Mil is the best. Only feedback is that the churros were sitting out covered on a plate and when I got home and tried it I threw it away because it did not taste fresh.
