This time I had the lettuce wrap that has chili garlic chicken bites, black beans & rice ($15). It was good and lighter so I wasn't too full to get back out in the heat for the evening. Good flavor. The lettuce leaves provided were too big/mush for the amount of meat given - only needed two leaves since they were quite large. Queso was good. Others enjoyed taco salad, brisket tacos, kids quesadillas, taquitos. Margarita was decent. For $15, I thought it would come in a nice glass or a plastic cup that hadn't already been used. Service was very rude. My grandmother is 79 and loves her a margarita in a pretty glass! We used to go to the Keller location and the bartender Carlos was always so sweet and accommodating.... However they wouldn't make an exception for her and would only give her one in a plastic cup even though their wall is full of margarita glasses we even said we would have them in plastic and asked if they would make an exception for her but no:/ sad that these locations keep losing their customer service. I live in roanoke and decided to give this place a try. So I walk up and open the door and before I even put one foot through the door this man literally stands in front of me and says we're closed . I look at the time and its 8:59. I then look at the sign on the door which clearly states the restaurant closes at 10:00pm. I don't care that they decided to close early but the fact I got rushed out was a little upsetting. Don't think a business this rude deserves another visit. read more

We eat here enough that it's probably my #1 for Mexican food (partially that's due to one of my previous faves, Pulido's, no longer existing). My only wish is a slightly less spicy salsa option! I are at the Watauga recently and it was spicy but not quite as much as this and the NRH location! Haven't been to the Keller one yet. This is also probably the most aesthetically pleasing location because of the interior and being in downtown Roanoke. Certainly a regular for us now! read more

Only good thing is the margaritas. We visited this meh establishment since it was rated 4.2 vs the 3.9 of the other Mexican place down the road. The salsa with the complimentary chips was very hot, like burn the back of your throat hot. So I was expecting some great queso. The queso was basically velveeta and not even heated up enough that it basically congealed at our table. The brisket tacos were blah. The table was so sticky when the waitress cleared it the plates were stuck to it and she giggled a bit. The waitress totally dismissed one of us when taking the drink order. This was a very disappointing visit. First of all, chips were store bought and not made there. Salsa was good and spicy. When we tried to make a simple modification to a menu item they refused. Food great, mediocre service and crappy drinks. We were greatly promptly but it took the waitress at least 10 minutes before she came over to our table. After she took our drink order, chips and salsa was brought by another waitress. There was only one bartender during busy Thursday night. It took forever for the drink to be brought to our table. Once we placed our order for our entrees we didn't see the waitress again. Once our food was delivered, she took another drink order which took 10-15 mins. The food tasted good, was warm and brought out in a timely manner. I had the spicy watermelon which had a chemically after taste then I switched to the house Margarita which also had a chemical after taste. $11-$13 per drink. We came here all the time when it used to be Tacos & Avocados. We were devastated when they closed, but this is definitely a good replacement! Visiting the area for the weekend and wanted some Mexican food. I picked this place out of the 3 on the strip due to excellent views . It did not disappoint. The margaritas were perfect and the food was excellent. They gave chips and salsa immediately and I'm so used to complementary salsa being mild but this was perfectly spicy. The chips were excellent too and clearly freshly made. I ordered the brisket tacos and their tortillas are INCREDIBLE. Their menu is short and to the point (most Mexican restaurants have too lengthy of a menu). The service was top notch and TBH the best I've had in a restaurant in some time. I like how they offer black beans instead of the soupy refried beans too many restaurants offer. My ONLY complaint was their lack of hot sauces but that's petty. Highly recommended. read more

Friday night date with my husband! We wanted Mexican food but LoS Mols is kinda too heavy. So we decided to try Baja, it was a little crowded so we had to sit at the bar area. We sat at the window to people watch. It was a neat little spot. The staff was nice our waiter took care of us. We really enjoyed the atmosphere, food and drinks. The salsa is exactly what I was hoping for. Perfect amount of spicy and lots of flavor. The tacos were delicious! I added fresh jalapeños to mine and it made the tacos even better.
