Wow, the WORST eating experience I have had in my entire lifespan. We walked in and right away, No AC. We made the mistake and ordered right away which forced us to feeling obligated to stay after the disaster that occurred. We waited 30 minutes for stale chips, waited 45 minutes for lukewarm water, we checked with the waitress 3+ times to see the status of our food and had to ask for water. After 1 hour and 15 minutes of waiting the chef came out and asked us what we had ordered, absolutely piss poor. I stood up and left so didn't get to try their food, if it's anything like the service it won't be any better than a steaming pile of dog dung. We've driven by many times but today we stopped in, upon entry their is a sign directing you to seat yourself. There was only 1 other couple there at the time so that we had our choice, after a 10 minutes our server brought us some chips and salsa. She didn't offer any help and struggled to answer our questions there was no language barrier. I had the Milanesa Torta with French fries which was absolutely delicious. The wife went with Chili relleno taco and the tripe taco made cruncy the way it should be. This food was 5 star for us both. Service could have been friendlier on the front end. The service is not up to par but there's only one server and one cook. It did take quite some time to get our drinks and chips and queso. Unfortunately, the queso tasted good until we found a plastic piece in the queso bowl. We ordered the sopes and gorditas. The sope didn't look like an actual sope. It was the smallest piece of masa I have seen. The Gordita was not a true Gordita either. I had the Picadillo in the Gordita that was not very appetizing. The veggies tasted like they have been submerged in water for a while. We also ordered pastor, asada, and chicharron. The chicharron was the best out of those. The pastor and asada were good but not great. The restrooms need some work as well not very pleasant to use. Taqueria Las Mulas has taken the number 1 spot. Not only are the tacos delicious but the price is reasonable and the service is good. I met Dulcee and Tony and they were so kind! If you know Spanish it will be very advantageous here! The restaurant was a little toasty so I don't think I could eat my meal in there, but I took mine to go and it worked out great. The parking lot is always empty and the reviews were very mixed, so I was unsure if this spot would be worth my while. I'm so glad I stopped in! It seemed is though they mainly attracted a working-class clientele. I came here on two separate occasions first time I ordered enormous and delicious breakfast burritos (these I highly recommend!) Honestly-- I don't know what all the bad press is about from other reviews. I came here on a Sunday for lunch. There was really only one person running orders out, but the place is small. I didn't mind waiting (and honestly didn't have to wait long for anything anyways) because I was enjoying the time with my boyfriend. I got tacos al pastor (3 tacos with rice and beans) for $8. On the north side of FW I pay usually $13 for the same thing. I lived in Mexico when I was a teenager so I can be critical and picky of food. The pastor was perfect. Not at all dry and had good flavor. There was a ton of meat on each taco. I was full after 2 (which I can normally eat 3-5 depending on how much meat is on them). My boyfriend got the chicken fajitas. It was a big portion for the price. I tried it and thought it had good flavor from the peppers and onions, but chicken could've been seasoned a little better. We paid $23 for everything which included salsa+tax. When she quoted the total it came up to about $3 for a bacon egg cheese taco. 3 dollars is somewhat standard (maybe a bit on the pricy side) and i didnt want to wait longer so i wasn't going to argue over it. When She rang my card there was an additional dollar added... Guessing the tax but the receipt wasn't granular enough to understand the price traceability. The price shifting earns a single star out of the starting gate. You've gotta know your prices. So, the prior reviews of Taqueria Las Mulas are all over the place, so I had to visit and see for myself. My ultimate opinion? It depends on what you're looking for. The menu is pretty extensive, and offers protein options that you won't find at a lot of Mexican restaurants, such as Lengua (Tongue), Chicharron (Pork Skin), Tripa (Tripe), Higado (Liver) & Birria (Goat), and the prices are reasonable across the board. They only offer bottled sodas, but their drinks also include a number of specialty drinks and flavors. I decided to try one of the more unique offerings in the Higado Encebollado (Liver & Onions). It was served with Rice and Beans as well as choice of Flour or Corn Tortilla. I wasn't certain which Tortilla and the server offered they could give me a few of both, which I accepted. The food arrived quickly and the Liver was sliced into small pieces and mixed with Grilled Onion strips. The flavor was good, and wasn't tough - as liver can sometimes be. I actually like the minerally taste of liver, so I actually would have preferred a bit bigger pieces, but was good on either type of tortilla and I topped them with the fresh onion and cilantro mix that garnished the plate. The rice and beans were each rather plain. I understand that it is often the intent to balance the spices, but I would like more flavor from the sides. The Chips and Salsa served prior and along with the meal were unique. The chips crisp and had a full corn flavor, but also seemed a little stale. The salsa was very original. Not much tomato flavor at all, but fresh tasting and rather mild. The server brought 3 salsa choices with my meal as well. Along with the standard, was also a Tomatillo Salsa and a creamy, green salsa which was their spicy. Both were good, and I liked the two mixed as each offered a quality the other lacked. All-in-all, it was a good lunch, but there is nothing that would make me tell people to rush out for. If you want some new options, and like trying foods you won't get at a lot of other Mexican places, this is something you should definitely give a try. read more

This review is based off of 3 visits one in person and 2 deliveries.. First of all and most disturbingly, when you order for delivery through a delivery partner they just ignore your instructions and send you whatever they feel like despite it's not what you ordered.. then if you call to explain they don't give a crap that they did you wrong.. and talk about how good they are. When they're actually below average for authentic tacos.. Also and equally as important, their tacos just aren't that great.. their meat is kinda dry and meh... Their tortillas are very basic and taste like rubber store bought gringo tortillas. Really if you compare this place to dos Hermanos which is their closest competitor there is no reason to ever eat here unless dos Hermanos is closed or you're walking so it's too far to walk.. I would say based on food and service both.. just avoid this place it's really not that great. Try rubbery tacos and staff that simply doesn't care about their customers. read more

We visited this establishment on a slow day . You seat yourself. I ordered the menudo, which I give them props for having plenty of meat ( tripe) in the bowl, not much hominy. As a maker of menudo, I'm always interested in how resteraunts make theirs, since everyone makes it different. This one had no flavor, I had to add salt to give it flavor. It did not have any spiciness to it at all, pretty tasteless. I ordered a bottled beer, the beer was not very cold. I thought maybe they might have refilled the cooler, but it was early in the evening. Over all, the other family members ordered other things off of the menu and at the end the consensus was that the food is really pretty mediocre at best. Now real WOW factor here.
