Tacos y Mas is not a Torchy's Tacos type place (which I really like Torchys) but you will send half as much here. Their kids meal is also a deal with a few choices and all of them come with rice, beans, a drink and a churro for $8. They have a salsa bar that is not for the feint of heart. I like salsa with a good kick but unless you can really handle it, I would suggest you stick to the middle or left side. (The salsas get hotter as you go left to right on the salsa bar. I've been here a couple of times now, and the food is solid. Not outstanding, but satisfying. The service has been friendly and open both times, and food comes out hot and quick. This time we had the tacos and enchiladas, and enjoyed our meals. I do feel that the price is a little high for the quality, quantity, and location so it isn't somewhere I would come often. I also feel the ambience could be improved, as the location looks a bit rundown inside, especially in the back area by the drink station. Friendly service and good breakfast tacos. Cowboy taco came with fresh chopped jalapeño and plenty of shredded cheese. Also enjoyed the bacon, egg and cheese breakfast taco. Option of corn or flour tortillas. Salsa bar has plenty of fun choices with varying heat levels. I wasn't brave enough to try the peanut butter salsa, but maybe next time. When it comes to me and authentic cuisine I prefer the closest to traditional although I have have learned not to be picky especially when it comes to Tacos since tacos are essentially Street Food. But are the tacos are closest to traditional and at least closer than some other taco places. I enjoy their corn tortillas which are not hard and don't break when you hold them like hard tacos at other places. They've got a variety of different Meats such as lengua, barbacoa, beef, fish-I personally enjoy the mahi tacos. I eat a lot so I usually get about 8 tacos and that tends to run me only about 10 bucks or so. They have specials which are a great deal for bulk eaters. The restaurant is clean inside, and of course practicing social distance. When I was in there, I didn't see that dine in was an option but I could be wrong. Saturday afternoon, we decided to try a different place for tacos than we usually do. the young woman at the front counter was extremely kind and patient with us, as we had not been in here before. I had (embarrasingly) forgotten to tell her that we were taking our food to go, until everything was ready on plates for us, and she showed more patience as she then prepped everything to go instead. I got the street taco plate, good value for the amount of food that I received, and carnitas had a lot of flavor and was very moist. Horchata was refreshing and not overly-sweet. The wait was very reasonable, for the amount of food that we ordered. There were several other small families eating inside the restaurant at the time. Great tacos. I got the grilled shrimp taco and a grilled fish taco. Both of them were very good. My friend got the taco bowl and was raving about how good the taco shell was. (I didn't really know there could be very much difference in the taste of a taco shell). They have a range of hot salsas...maybe 8 or so. I tried 3 of them and they were really good. I got the street taco platter(chicken). And a side of chicken tortilla soup. The tortillas on the soup were stale. Just your average tortilla soup. Nothing over the top. I'd rate it a 4.5 out of 10. Not spicy at all. Good for kids. I added the bombero sauce to the soup. It brought that score up to a 6. They put rice under the soup. It had cheese as well. So if you're looking for that kinda style of chicken tortilla soup. It does come with the avocado. It isn't extra. The lady at the counter was very nice. I'm glad I decided to try Tacos y Mas! I've tried several of their special tacos, but I like carnitas the best. I place my orders in person and the food is delivered very quickly. As an added bonus, the servers are all very nice. I really like the salsa bar, but the salsas are not always marked. I love the fact they have pickled onions. I wouldn't mind seeing cilantro, pico, and maybe some limes on the bar, but it is not a deal killer. I'll return often! Note: They charged me $0.60 to use my credit card.
