I went here because I was looking for some street tacos.well the only street tacos I got were really tiny and not what I was looking for.I also ordered this other taco that was a jalapeno and something else.Can't remember?So when I got home I gave the tiny street tacos to my wife and I ate the other taco.I just remember my wife saying these tacos are small and she was still hungry after she ate them.As far as my taco goes it was ok but I'm not sure it was worth 5.50.I definitely wouldn't go back here.I was just really disappointed.If you live close by give it a shot.But I wouldn't drive out of your way like I did to try it.There are a lot of better places then this and less expensive. read more

The Black Beans are awesome! The Birria Tacos we're underwhelming. While the meat tasted good, there was barely any cheese and they clearly didn't spend much time on the griddle. Go to Marriachi'a Dine-In or Calisience, both in Fort Wort,h if you want real beef Birria. And then there's the Watermelon Jalapeño Margarita. I paid extra for good tequila. I tasted Watermelon, Jalapeño and sweet/sour mix. If there was tequila in it... well, it tasted like a virgin drink. We may go back, but my expectations will be much lower than they were this time. Whaaatttt????? On ordering, the young flashy eyelash girl says, "We close in 20 minutes." Umm it's 8:25 pm lady! I'm sure the owners would have a fit if they knew you were rushing us out of there! I went to brunch with a friend today, so we decided to give Rusty Taco a try. It's located in a strip center that is fairly easy to access. My first impression was that it seemed very "no frills." We were greeted upon arrival by a young man who took our orders. He was polite but not overly friendly. I ordered a breakfast taco to be made into a bowl and asked for potatoes to be added. I also ordered a soft drink. The total for my order, including a 15% tip, was just over $18.00. The order was brought to the table by a server who wordlessly placed the trays on the table, not even inquiring which meal belonged to whom, and walked away. There were no napkins, salsa, or even salt and pepper on the table. I got up and found the S&P near the drink station. There were no napkins to be found - just some rolls of brown paper towels near the food station. The salsa was in teeny tiny plastic containers that looked like they contained about 2 teaspoons of salsa. The "bowl" was a paper container of the style that french fries or onion rings are usually served in. The food tasted fine - my brisket breakfast bowl with potatoes and cheese was pretty basic. I estimate that they used two small eggs. The brisket was tasty, and the overall dish tasted good - it was just so small! Overall, I just don't see a reason why I should return to Rusty Taco. If I'm going to pay that much money for breakfast, I'll go someplace that uses real dishes, has friendly people, and that isn't stingy with the portion sizes, and that provides decent condiments. read more

Five stars all the way for Rusty Taco! I really enjoyed their customer service and food! Decided to "cash in" my free queso and grab some extra tacos as well. Was warmly greeted as I checked out their medium sized menu of street tacos, dips, and margs. I decided to get a couple of their rusty tacos, chicken fajitas, and one of their new green tacos. As I waited for my food I was offered water and checked out the spot. They have a wrap around patio outside, tons of tables, and two big screen tvs great for eating tacos and chilling. My food was done fairly quickly and as I peered in the bag I was in heaven by the scent of chunky cheese. The queso dip almost didn't make its way home as the staff gave me a big bag of chips that just kept dipping and dipping and dipping even more into the queso. The only thing that stopped me was the fact that there was salsa in the bag too. I dipped into those next. The habanero, the orange one, was a little too hot for me, but the green and red salsas were a little less fire, but still had tons of flavor. By the time I made it home my stomach only had room for the green taco, which was stuff full of cojita cheese, crema, and avocado--so yummy! The door to my heart is with cheese--lots of it. I see why this taco was $4 because it was worth all of its amazing cheesy goodness. Oh and the pork was pretty good too. My mom and I shared the remaining tacos over the next few days and she loved them as well. I gave her my taco loyalty card so she can check out Rusty for herself and earn some free tacos! Great Street tacos! They have a large selection different fillings. We tried the raja taco, shrimp taco, picadillo taco, and fish taco. All were super tasty and fresh. Please allow time for them to make your food, it isn't super fast but well worth the wait. THe staff was super friendly and informative. Theyy were surprisingly busy for 11 am on a Sunday morning. My only complaint was it was ABSOLUTELY freezing. It made my meal super uncomfortable and less enjoyable otherwise they would have gotten 5 stars. read more

We were visiting a Lowes home improvement store and we were getting hungry. Right across the street was a place called "Rusty Taco." We'd never heard of it, but thought, "Why not?" and decided to give it a try. We're SO glad we did. We were very fortunate that the person who took our order was one of the managers, named Janeli. She was very friendly and guided us through their menu with suggestions. We were thirsty too, so we ordered a couple margaritas. I had noticed there were two margarita dispensers, one of them marked "the good stuff." I didn't see anywhere on the menu where I could specify which quality level I wanted, so I just watched as she poured our drinks. She got ours from "the good stuff" dispenser. (already I was liking the place and Janeli...) Our tacos were served quickly and were delicious. We dined on the covered porch and watched the sunset, slowly sipping the potent drinks. It was a wonderful, peaceful experience even with Highway 26 in front of us. When we were getting ready to leave, Janeli came up to us and asked about our experience. We enjoyed chatting with her so much we stayed quite a while and somehow the subject of electric vehicles came up. That seems to happen to me a lot. Not sure why... ;-) I cannot remember the last time we were treated in such a friendly manner at a restaurant. We've already been back again and Janeli remembered us! Updated review: This is my new "go to" taco place. The food is consistently good. We've tried several different tacos and each of them is good. The margaritas are meh. I got the "cheap stuff" liquor so maybe that's why. This is my second time here. The first time I came here. I didn't care for it but my husband loves it. So my second time around - I actually like this place. So it's possible I ordered the wrong things last time around... not sure. This time around I ordered the Piccadillo taco which had a hint of heat and it was good. I also ordered the Baja shrimp grilled taco. This one was good too. Consider this place redeemed in my eyes. I used to love this place, but it's been steadily declining and this last visit was probably my last. The customer service was terrible and they were out of a ton of things. There were six of us out for a girls night and we showed up about an hour before close. We pretty much came for the queso, but were told they were out. Out of queso! We ended up staying anyway and ordered tacos and guac. (They were also out of Topo Chico, brisket, and fruit tacos) I got Dr Pepper at the fountain, but when I sat down, it was out of syrup. No biggie - it happens. So I mentioned it to the girl behind the counter and she disappeared in the back for a few seconds, but didn't change the syrup or say anything to me, and went back to cooking. I figured she needed to finish something real quick and then she'd take care of it. Ten minutes later (all the while I'm standing in front of her, at the drink fountain), I ask when I can expect it to be changed. And she tells me they're out of Dr Pepper. That would have been nice to know 10 minutes ago! Also, no apology or remorse. The guac tasted like mashed avocados - no flavor whatsoever. And it was very clearly not fresh. The chips were super bland. Thirty minutes after I had ordered, I still hadn't gotten my food even though everyone else in our party had, and I wasn't the last one to order. Also, we were the only ones there besides a table of two. I went back in to cancel my order and get a refund, which I did. However, the guy who processed it was not apologetic and gave me the excuse that they only had two employees that night. If he had prepped us for slow service when we walked in, and apologized for it, we would have had a completely different experience. read more

Came for lunch on a rainy Saturday. Wait was short to order and we got our food very fast. We signed up for their emails and got the free chips and queso which were very good! My husband ordered the green Chile pork taco and said it was not his favorite and I ordered the fried chicken taco with bacon added and it was a bit of a miss for me as well. The tacos were also quite small for the price but did contain fresh ingredients. We just weren't super impressed with the flavors. Birria and crispy chicken tacos were underwhelming. Birria taco was very soft and not grilled long enough. Chicken taco meat was a small portion, the pictures make it look bigger like velvet taco or fuzzy's size but it's much smaller. The queso was good but the chips were way too oily. read more

We go to rusty taco every Friday for happy hour. I wish I was joking, but my clothes being too tight don't lie. Their happy hour is INSANE! $1 chips and salsa (with unlimited chips) $1.50 chips and queso! $2.5 margaritas (I recommend on the rocks. It's the best!) Their tacos are all good, but my favorite is the bacon, egg and cheese! Yum yum! They also have a frequent taco card. You can get it punched 9 times for a free taco!!!!! Well I've had velvet and fuzzy tacos so I decided I might as well try rusty ones. The cashier was upbeat and friendly which is always a plus. When I saw brisket tacos on the menu I got pretty excited. I stopped reading the signage a tad bit too quickly. It didn't phase me that I was paying $5 (4.95 on the menu) for 1 taco because it was just a quick lunch and it's brisket. They call your name when your order is up at the counter. I was a little stunned. These are not American size tacos. They are street tacos here. I need 2 or 3 of those little ones typically. They already had my money for my tiny taco. I definitely would not buy the brisket taco ever again. The only thing I can say about the brisket is that they cook it. No seasoning or flavor detected. On the plus the queso for my chips was delicious. And the cute, clever slogans on the employees shirts are fun. Chips and queso saved the day for me as far as lunch is concerned. read more
