Baja is a local Tex Mex restaurant with many regulars from Grapevine and Southlake area! They are best known for their margaritas, or "bajaritas" and I'm not kidding when I say every single person at the restaurant was drinking a bajarita. It's decorated cute and has Mexican and coastal vibe. And the bar was lively with lots of people who came by themselves to enjoy a bajarita good decent food! (4/5) Strawberry Frozen La Original Bajarita It comes as a regular frozen margarita with strawberry syrup that you have to stir yourself but if was pretty good! Not too strong and not too weak. (4/5) Tex-Mex Trio Enchiladas Soft cheese taco, sour cream chicken enchilada, chili beef enchilada, and Mexican rice & refried beans. The rice was fluffy too and everything was solid. (3.5/5) Chicken Semi-Famous Fajitas I liked that there were more variety of veggies than in a typical fajita. The chicken could've had more flavor!

We sat at the bar and only had about 45 minutes to eat. We ordered margs which came out quickly and ordered our meal. It was at the table in less than 15 minutes. I had the side chicken salad and cup of tortilla soup. Both were amazing and I would order again. The bartender was attentive, made amazing drinks and was very friendly and helpful! Thank you for a wonderful experience!

During our mini college gals reunion in DFW area over Memorial Weekend, we went to this restaurant to try some of the best Tex Mex in Grapevine! I had the Chicken Enchiladas Suizas and it was so fresh! Loved that they added so many fresh veggies to the dish. They were pretty busy that eve and they accidentally brought me a skinny mezcal margarita w/o the mezcal but they quickly fixed it. I forgot my reunion t-shirt in Austin (doh!) and just for grins I bought their $25 black t-shirt that said "I need a HUGe margarita" which was really cute.

Another great meal in Grapevine! I came here to try the place out. This is on my long list of places I have passed by many times, but never tried. Today I changed that! Upon entering the place is pretty typical of a Tex Mex place. Simple in decor, many beer related decor items. My waitperson, Patricio, was great and attentive. Definitely a repeater!

Wonderful food, service, and drinks! Would recommend this place to anyone in the area! Happy hour is 3-6 and they've got a nice little sports bar area. Get the melon margarita!

This was my first time eating here, but I came with people who have eaten here before the new ownership so you can take my review with a grain of salt. I thought the food was good. It wasn't anything crazy but it definitely wasn't bad. The people I came with who have eaten here before were very disappointed. I think the new ownership has affected a lot of the little things that people get nostalgic about with restaurants like decor, margaritas being unmixed now, different chips, no more cilantro lime rice, etc. They were all a little underwhelmed with their food, namely the fajita chicken which they thought was a little under seasoned but overall, i felt the service was fine and the food was decent. All of the above things can be improved upon with time.

Omg!!! The drinks here is bomb!!! I had the midori margarita and it was not overly sweet and you can't tell that it's strong. After I finished the drink, it hit me!!!! We had the beef fajita to share and it was great and enough portion for two! I asked our waiter for some spicy salsa and he brought out this creamy green sauce. Omg! It was soooo tasty and spicy! I love it!!! Def want to come here more !

This place doesn't look like much, but it's definitely worth a stop. In all fairness, I was running a half marathon the next day, so I purposely had to select some blander food and didn't do much of the chips and queso. That said, their salsa is delicious and has some heat to it, which I would've appreciated more had I not been running the next day. The queso with chorizo was also decent. I ended up doing the lettuce wrap tacos, which were fine. The rice and beans were nice. The chicken was definitely the highlight: I was surprised at how flavorful and tender it was! They also looked like they had an impressive margarita selection, which I'd like to try next time. The staff were all pleasant and attentive. Plenty of parking outside. The restaurant is a lot bigger on the inside than it appears, so we had no trouble finding a table. There's also a small bar area. Overall, we were pleasantly surprised by this find and would love to come back, especially for their salsa and to try a margarita (or two)!

I really enjoyed the surf and turf tacos. The steak and shrimp tasted delicious with the avocado in the taco. The rice and beans that came with it weren't very good. In the future I'd substitute regular beans and Spanish rice for the sides. The mango margarita was delicious and a great size!

We decided to try Baja Mex as it was recommended by a friend, and it did not disappoint. The service was great, and the food was even better. Started off with chips and salsa and a tasty margarita. For the entree, I had Carnitas Michoacan. It had plenty of pork, and was very good. I would definitely come back next time we're in town.

Baja has a good variety of Mexican dishes. Their Mexican corn side is delicious. I also love their 'piggy' nachos.

Well seasoned steak and soft, flavorful tortillas made for an excellent dinner, one I almost didn't have, since I was so busy filling up on the very good chips and various salsas. The ambiance is good: a bit loud, but that's no big deal, especially since I went on a Friday night. The service was inconsistent, unfortunately. We didn't see our waiter for long periods of time, and then he was replaced by another waiter, and then we waited a long time for drinks and to place our orders. Overall, the next time I head back to Mi Dia, I'll get a reservation on the patio and will leave plenty of room for the salsa.

Any port in a storm, as they say. We have tried to like this place but just can't. The HVAC on the roof was thumping and rattling, making the whole ceiling of the dining area thump and shake. The lights were shaking as was our table. The salsa that came with the chips was really off, watered down and tasteless. I asked for a spicier one, which was a little more flavorful but also watered down. When our nachos came out, we were greeted by a pile of chips heavily coated in mostly melted, not great, probably fake, cheddar cheese. There was a layer of refried beans and grilled chicken underneath. The beans weren't bad, but the chicken was super salty. Very heavily seasoned with what is probably the same seasoning they put on their chips - some sort of seasoned salt concoction. My woman reported her margarita to be "super mix-y." My beer was cold, though. Like I said, this place just isn't too our taste but it seems to be great for others. And that's fine. If you come here just try not to sit directly under the thumping HVAC vent. I don't know how long it will hold. 02.23.25

I had not been to this particular Uncle Julio's before, in fact, it is set off the road enough that if you blink you might miss it. Walking in you immediately notice that the ambiance pays tribute to their other stores in that there is a nice blend of traditional Mexican decor blended with modern decor. I ordered Fajitas. I am going to say they were respectable. Not the best I have had, but way better than a lot I have had. Would I get them again? Probably, but there are a lot of other things I would try on the menu before getting them again. Being my coworker's birthday, we ordered a Chocolate Piñata for dessert. It was a fun experience to have people at the table take a swing at it, until out came Churros, and Fresh Fruit. There was an array of sauces to dip the Fruit and Churros in. Our Service was a bit slow at times, and for that I am taking a star off the rating. We all sat on the patio, which may have contributed to our feeling forgotten a few times

Mesa's is just a few minutes drive from Gaylord so it is super convenient. The ambience is pleasant and open and in general it was fine. The restaurant was clean with plenty of seats and parking outside. I did not get a "homey" feel but that may be just me. Our server was attentive and efficient. No problems or complaints. The free chips and salsa were good but not outstanding. The salsa was warm and obviously homemade, but it lacked kick. It was tasty but not "OMG this is good." I started with a cup of Roberto's queso which is the standard queso cheese with some ground beef, pico, and a tablespoon of guacamole. It too was good but not outstanding. I am not sure what it was missing but there was something that was needed. I had the two beef tacos and they were just average. Not much flavor or anything distinctive. The ground beef was not well seasoned so they were kind of bland. The rice and black beans were also kind of bland. Frankly, my tacos at home are better. The wife had the taco salad and liked it, although it did not come with any dressing. She used the salsa. Not sure if that was an oversight or that is the way the salad is served. She was also happy that they serve Negro Modelo on tap, so she was happy. The kid had nachos with black beans and cheese and did not complain. Such was the case recently when we paid a visit to Mesa. The first order of business was getting an appetizer to go with the chips and salsa. Upon the server's recommendation we got the queso Blanco. It was quite possibly the blandest queso I have ever eaten. At this point I started to worry that it was a sign of things to come. However, the extra spicy salsa that we also requested to go with the chips was more flavorful and gave me hope for the entrees. The good news is that my chicken and cheese enchiladas turned out to be better than the insipid appetizer. The not so good news is that it was still a mediocre meal. The rest of my family had mixed feelings about their food. My husband, who got 2 beef enchiladas, said his were overly salty but otherwise average. The bacon wrapped shrimp that my mother got were a little overcooked but she liked the sides. Both of my sons' entrees, the Mesa burrito and the chicken strips, were very well received. People like to say that even when pizza is bad it's still good. For me, that also applies to Tex-Mex. But, considering the plethora options out there, I doubt I will be returning anytime soon.
