i like the simplicity of this place. its a no frill taco and burrito restaurant. You order at the counter, and they'll call your food out when its ready to be picked up. Their take on the cali burrito was interesting, since it contains tots instead of fries... and to be honest it was pretty good. As for the tacos, you get to pick your choice of meats: carne asada, pollo, carnitas, suadero, pastor and nopal. I ended up getting the carnitas and the pastor and i enjoyed them. I really like the green/red sauce they provide. I didn't eat there, but i did go inside to order and brought my food home. I ended up getting the cali burrito and two different tacos. one thing that confuses me, is the sign outside says "Taco Stand" But the store name is actually tacos la central. This place is located right across the street of the USPS office.

Little spot with counter service in the shopping center with Dollar Tree. It was about 30 minutes before closing so I got my tacos to go. They came out quickly and were packed with both red and green salsas, which I appreciate. I like to do them up Christmas style. I ordered the suadero and asada tacos. They were solid. The meat was tender and the salsas were flavorful. Red has a decent spice. The corn tortillas are pretty thick and they double them up. It was a little too much for me, but taking away a tortilla is easy. The street tacos are $2.50 and come with cilantro, onion, and limes. They are only open until 4 Sunday thru Tuesday and then 9 the rest of the week.

Delicious tacos! The flavor of the tacos with the sauce was perfect, one of my favs out of the taco places I've visited. I got my food pretty fast and it was a nice place to sit down.

It was Tacoooooo Tuuueessday, so why not? I had tk try a new local spot. Even though it says Taco Spot outside it is indeed Tacos La Central. Great and fast service. I love the sauces that they provide with the tacos. Each has a nice kick . Will definitely be back!

The restaurant was well laid out, clean and simple. You have the option to grab a drink from the corral, order a fountain drink or a licuado. The menu selection is simple- quesadillas, burritos, or tacos but you have a large selection of meats to choose from. Asada, pastor, chicken, and many others. That is really all you need for a quick lunch and the prices were very affordable. We each (2 of us) got a pineapple jarrito and a burrito. The burrito was packed with rice, beans, and carne asada. The burritos were big that we both only ate half! For the sad part, it lacked flavor. The burrito could have used some cheese or maybe sour cream, guacamole if you like that but we didn't see any of that as an option to add on. To be fair, we were also in a hurry. The salsa is what saved the burrito. (The red one is spicier than the green one). For $20 total though it was a bargain! This isn't a place you get waited on. You walk up, order, and they call you via Loteria cards (super cute)! The staff we did interact with were nice. In all, I had higher hopes for this place and definitely will come back to try the pastor tacos. After all, it was as simple as you can get and sometimes that's all you need.

These tacos are pretty good and by no means should you write this place off. This is a good standard taco stop and reasonably priced, tacos are mostly $2.50 each, burritos and quesadillas are $7. Nothing about Tacos La Central wowed me, but I'll definitely be back when I'm in the area. Salsas were spicy, I like heat so it was fine for me, but I know other people in my family might not be able to handle those salsas. Al pastor taco was good, carne asada was very standard. The people who work here are friendly, the facility is not the nicest, but they seem to be making improvements and they keep it clean and comfortable. Definitely stop by if you're in the area and looking for a taco!

Wow- so happy to find this place hidden in plain sight! If you are wanting some fresh, tasty tacos and burritos at a very reasonable price THIS IS THE PLACE!!

    Half of the pollo burrito.

Tried the pollo burrito and it was seasoned well, however the sodium level was crazy high. Because the chicken, beans and rice were mixed well in burrito I could not tell what component or if all components were over salted. All this said, you may want to ask to try your protein choice before ordering and/of tell staff to go easy on the salt. Otherwise the other seasoning is great.

Receipt of my order. Each taco selection has a $2.50 price and $3.75 price on the menu.

The tacos are just decent. The problem with this place is the pricing. Looking at the menu each of the tacos has two prices next to it. $2.50 and $3.75. My first time trying this place out, I assumed that it was for corn and flour tortillas. I ordered 3 each of carne asada, carnitas and pastor, all on flour. The total came out and I thought it was quite high but I didn't say anything until I got my receipt. Once I got to look over the receipt, I was essentially charged $5 for each taco and I asked for an explanation. I was told that the $2.50 price for a taco on corn with no toppings or salsa. $3.75 was for a taco on corn with added cilantro and onions and salsa. And then it was extra on top for a flour tortilla. None of it made sense because it didn't add up. I probably should've escalated it but I needed to get back to the hospital. Just be careful to watch out for how they upcharge you or you will get ripped off like me. I won't be returning. There are better tacos around DFW. Hell, you might as well go to torchys if they are charging these kinds of prices.

a sign that says, usually when you roll something this good it's illegal buy a burrito

It's looking like this place is getting mixed reviews and maybe to some level I can understand that they are not everybody's cup of tea, but for me, this place rocks! The ambiance is very casual and yet inviting at the same time. Nothing too fancy, yet it does have a personality to it. In several visits I have never had a problem with my food or my service here. Everything has been cooked fresh to order and served to me hot and fresh. They have always been among the best tacos I have had in the DFW area. Honestly my only complaint is that they stopped making breakfast tacos, but I get it, if they are not selling well, you got to take them off the menu. I was sad when that happened, but have found their other tacos whether they chicken, beef, or pork, have all been pretty darn good. I usually add a cup of pinto beans with my tacos, which to me makes it a perfect-sized meal! I come here often with several work friends and we all love it!

We got the asada street taco plate, a couple of extra beef fajita street tacos and the Popeye's enchiladas. The tacos were okay. But the enchiladas were a little disappointing. I got the cheese one and it was supposed to be in a spinach cream mushroom sauce. All of the cheese was not fully cooked through and the spinach wasn't cooked or in the sauce. Just thrown on top. Any port in a storm, as they say. We have tried to like this place but just can't. The HVAC on the roof was thumping and rattling, making the whole ceiling of the dining area thump and shake. The lights were shaking as was our table. The salsa that came with the chips was really off, watered down and tasteless. I asked for a spicier one, which was a little more flavorful but also watered down. When our nachos came out, we were greeted by a pile of chips heavily coated in mostly melted, not great, probably fake, cheddar cheese. There was a layer of refried beans and grilled chicken underneath. The beans weren't bad, but the chicken was super salty. Very heavily seasoned with what is probably the same seasoning they put on their chips - some sort of seasoned salt concoction. My woman reported her margarita to be "super mix-y." My beer was cold, though. Like I said, this place just isn't too our taste but it seems to be great for others. And that's fine. If you come here just try not to sit directly under the thumping HVAC vent. I don't know how long it will hold. 02.23.25
