We happened upon this spot for a holiday party. Very cozy small place with a lot of character and charm! Service was great, we were served a variety of appetizers which were all good. Had the steak for dinner, it was good just wish it would of came with some potato of some sort But all in all great experience, you should stop by!!

When I'm in Ewing for business, I always feel like meal options are lacking. That's until I found Marsilio's. This place has great Italian food. Service is okay- wish they'd come by a bit more often. I do recommend making reservations (OpenTable) - they're not open Mondays and Tuesdays and on a Wednesday, it got packed. Looked like they had a lot of regulars. I love that they give a table pasta to share. I've been twice and I enjoyed the Sauvignon blanc and my arugula salad with salmon. Salmon was cooked perfectly and the citrusy dressing was refreshing and delightful. Will come back if I'm in town for work again. Everyone at the table was very happy with their meals- most completely emptied their plates. The chicken parm was apparently fantastically lightly breaded- so I'll try that next.

Food was very good, price point was decent, nice atmosphere. Service was painstakingly SLOW. If service is improved this moves to a 4 star review. If you don't have two and half hours to waste due to slow service, avoid this place.

Perhaps the best take out order I have experienced during Covid! Back in the day, I was a semi-regular at Marsillio's Kitchen in Chambersburg, the original Italian neighborhood in Trenton, NJ. This was my first visit to their new digs on Upper Ferry Road in Ewing. Gotta say, I was impressed. Ordering ahead by phone, I arrived a few minutes before the food was ready to go. That gave me time to look around and snap a number of photos of the house. The double doors to the main dining room were glass panel, which acted as a filter and smoothed the edges and gave a romantic antique patina. I look forward to enjoying dinner there safely. The food was packed well and survive the 10 minute drive home in good shape. Marsillio's has a robust red sauce menu, and a clever notion of offering, "I Can't Decide," possibilities. I went with both its Everything Parm (chicken, meatball, eggplant), and Everything Francaise (veal, chicken, shrimp, artichoke), along with Pasta Primavera and Seasonal Roasted Vegetables. With side green salad, penne red gravy and small amount of good sesame covered loaf, this was plenty for the four of us, with leftovers. I sampled a bit of it all, and found each item distinctly delicious. The Francaise was nicely sautéed in lemon and white wine, and the Parmigiana also pan fried with a light touch allowing the caramelized crannies to shine. The pasta was bathed in a semi-sweet red gravy (side dish) and plenty of veggies for the primavera tasted of a mild garlic infusion. Loved it all. While true that prices have gone up in this era of pandemic and inflation, the cost seemed reasonable, if not exactly inexpensive. Still, worth it when excellent in house dining can still be a challenge. I would definitely do this again.

Very long wait for our food - ok it was busy and staffing an issue for everyone. We were offered bread 3 times and refused it. i ordered Chicken Cacciatore noted it's a favorite recipe that's been on the menu for years. What I got was broiled chicken with a wedge of lemon. This is embarrassingly pathetic. if they couldn't make it they needed to just tell me that.

Marsilio's Kitchen went above and beyond for my bridal shower. We began the afternoon with drinks and light food in the tented patio area. It was absolutely beautiful! We went inside for a seated lunch with multiple menu options. The food was incredible. They were very accommodating of dietary allergies and overall, the staff was very attentive. Glasses were never empty! I highly recommend hosting your next event at Marsilio's.

I ordered the Penne Alla Vodka with breaded chicken--creamy, flavorful, and super satisfying. An 8/10 for me. My sister had the gnocchi with breaded chicken and was raving--she gave it a 9/10 without hesitation. We also had a couple drinks, and let me tell you--they were made with love. You could taste the care in every sip. Terri and Ron took amazing care of us--so kind, welcoming, and genuine. The space has a woodsy charm to it--open, cozy, and perfect for a date night or even a chill celebration with loved ones. Definitely one of those places that makes you want to come back.

The service was somewhat slow, but the waitress was very nice. Their beer was in cans or bottles. I ordered a Head Hunter IPA and it had a date code from the summer, so their stock was a bit old. I split a bowl of crab bisque $15 with my son. It was ok on spices/flavor and had small strips of crab, but the body was on the thinner side and I didn't think it was creamy enough. A miss, plus the guy who brought it out must have had the soup shift on the walk over so he had his thumb on top of the spillage that went onto the rim. I should have sent it back, but we were hungry. The small cornbread muffins that we had before our meals came out were tasty. After discussing the lunch menu with the waitress she said the Yardley Burger was very popular. $19 - roasted tomato, boursin cheese, hand cut fries. My son ordered the chicken cutlet - $18 fresh mozzarella, vodka aioli and chips. He skipped the sauteed spinach that was supposed to come on it. They took awhile to come out. The burger had a ridiculous amount of boursin on it (plenty of herbs and garlic coming off it), the meat was bland and the hand cut fries were a tad soggy. Even the bun was weak, so for $19 they can keep it. My sons sandwich was much better. The vodka aioli flavor was a home run with the thick cutlets. Still not worth $18, but much better than the burger. I had a Yards Washington Porter with my burger that slightly helped my disappointment. This place only gets the 4th star because I love history and the building has it. It was just OK other than that. Maybe a dinner/date night is in order to see what these higher yelp reviews are all about. Their entree prices seem much more in line. For lunch, I'm a no.

My daughter was at their Super Bowl party last night and it was something to remember. Crab boil on paper. New Orleans style. Lots of irresistible food and a big screen TV. Who knew that one of the best Super Bowl parties would be at Sal's ?! Well, now you know and that's not just the Super Bowl party.....any night or day you can depend on an amazing menu. I have always been known for making Greco's Clams Casino ....very specific about how they did it and I do it exactly that way and people go absolutely mad. 90% of restaurants that offer claims Casino don't know what Clams Casino is. And my daughter told me that their Clams Casino is as good as mine Whaaaat?! ...they make old time roasted dirty chicken, and if you're reading this and you know what that is, (you serve it with some bread which becomes dirty bread) and just mop it all up..... The family will be there to delight you with memories of delicious dining in the 'Burg'..... Sal's is in the Marrazzo's Market shopping center tucked in off to the side right next to the popcorn people and across from Rita's They have a lovely wine bar and you can bring your own anything .... And who knew you could go there and hang out .....have a glass of wine and a little appetizer and watch your favorite game on the TV..?!!! and speaking of sports TV while I'm dining I really am a girly girl when it comes to that but I know the rest of the world loves it ...What I liked is that I didn't have to dine with the TV right in my face like a lot of other places .....it was there and people can watch it, but you can just forget it's there .. it's not obvious at all .... Which makes the dining experience perfect for everyone...and that's the way it should be done.... The prices are a little higher than some Italian restaurants, BUT, that's because all the ingredients are absolutely as fresh as you can get them and by the way, fresh ingredients make all the difference in flavor and presentation. There is actually someone in the kitchen who is preparing your meal uniquely and perfectly just for you No corporate predictability here. Not like most Italian restaurants where you actually don't need the menu cause you know what they're gonna serve. I am really fussy about my corporate run restaurants some of them are obviously OK but some of them are just so boring. It's ridiculous. Here's what you really have to do ....go over there and have a great meal and then go back and then go back ..... It has definitely become one of Ewing's amazing collection of a "little hole in the wall" type restaurant. The dining area is L shaped and off to the back is a lovely fireplace, very romantic, and the whole dining area is open and designed beautifully ....so when you step inside the door, you will definitely know that this is a place you can take your mom or you can take your date or you can just go and watch a football game and eat some good wings We certainly love those tucked-away places the best !!!..... and if you're not familiar with that way of picking your dining experience, visit this family style Italian restaurant and you'll know what I'm talking about..!
