Stopped by here tonight to grab some food. There was a band and the bar was packed, tables were full so we sat outside, k like that they gave a large free parking lot so it's easy to find a spot close by. I have no clue why the heaters weren't on, it was 59 degrees out when we left early because it was just too cold. Cuban sandwich was very good. I really liked the bread and the fries are my favorite. The service was a bit strange. We stood at the hostess stand with no one saying anything to anyone until I let her know we would just sit outside. We didn't ask for anything special or extra and the waiter returned to our table enough that it became somewhat uncomfortable like he wanted us to go, which we did.

This is a great restaurant on the main street in Yardley. There's outside seating on the porch. There are tables inside as well as a full bar. Allison P. was our server. She was friendly and helpful. We started with the Watermelon Caprese salad from the special menu then the Million Dollar Burger (also on the special menu) and the wings. The burger was juicy and delicious- I went through 5 paper napkins. It was on a pretzel roll with bacon and cooper sharp cheese. One of the best burgers I've had. I'd definitely recommend the Continental Tavern.

This was our first time at Continental Tavern and it surely won't be our last. My wife really enjoys a local spa in Yardley so we occasionally make the drive from South Jersey. She had an appointment on a Saturday so after walking around town for a bit I decided to stop in to the Continental Tavern for some food. The building itself is historic and the bar is beautiful -- exactly how I want every bar I frequent to feel and look. I started out with a non-alcoholic Heineken since I was driving but ended up switching to a delicious pumpkin beer they had on tap (there were actually a handful of craft beers on tap I would've loved to try). The bartender was fantastic -- attentive, very personable, and made some killer recommendations! I started out with 6BBQ Apricot wings. They were huge wings, which I usually prefer smaller wings, but these were crispy, not chewy at all, and the meat pulled away from the bone with ease. I also asked the bartender for something that's a must order off of the menu as I've never been before. Without hesitation she said the Reuben and then the Cuban. So I went with the Reuben and it was one of the best sandwiches I've ever had. The bread was buttery and toasted perfectly, the corned beef was stacked high and tender, and the ratios of sauerkraut and Russian dressing were spot on. This truly is a must-order sandwich. We even really enjoyed the fries that came with the sandwich -- thick, potatoey fries that were crisp. I saved half of everything I ordered for my wife who only had the sandwich & fries but she really loved both as well. Prior to us leaving the bartender assured us that we need to try the Cuban next time we visit. We will definitely be back to give the Cuban a shot in the near future.

My friend and I grabbed a quick lunch here. I got a burger and she got the chicken wrap. It was very good. My friend got sweet potato fries while I got regular. Service was very quick and it's a very cool building.

Nice, place to get lunch if you are in town! Space is large enough to sit down, relax, stretch your legs and speak at a normal volume to your friends. Waitstaff was polite and easy going. I dined here for lunch, during the summer - no wait really to speak of. Don't worry if you cannot eat outside, the interior (dark wooded motif) is air conditioned and spacious. Quality pub food served here with no regrets, I enjoyed my burger a lot. Good: -Buffalo Chicken Flatbread -Cowboy Burger -Friendly waitstaff -Outside seating on a nice day Bad: -None

I haven't visited the Continental Tavern in years, but the most recent experience I had reminded me of past visits. Simple standard fare, good service, friendly employees, and kid friendly for a good price. We were one of several families with children dining inside on this last lunch trip. They have some TV's with sports on that helped entertain my oldest and a highchair for the little one which was a bonus. A highchair that was actually clean was much appreciated! The kids menu is simple, but has all of the standards you would expect. My youngest had a grilled cheese with fries and the oldest had the pasta. They scarfed them both down with no complaints. My wife and I ordered salads and were very satisfied with them. Big portions, fresh ingredients and nicely plated. The wife and I came here as a dating couple BC (before children) for dinner/drinks and everything on this recent visit felt the same as back then - A friendly atmosphere, charming interior, historical past (read about it on their website) and a nice meal! We will return if in the area.

The service was somewhat slow, but the waitress was very nice. Their beer was in cans or bottles. I ordered a Head Hunter IPA and it had a date code from the summer, so their stock was a bit old. I split a bowl of crab bisque $15 with my son. It was ok on spices/flavor and had small strips of crab, but the body was on the thinner side and I didn't think it was creamy enough. A miss, plus the guy who brought it out must have had the soup shift on the walk over so he had his thumb on top of the spillage that went onto the rim. I should have sent it back, but we were hungry. The small cornbread muffins that we had before our meals came out were tasty. After discussing the lunch menu with the waitress she said the Yardley Burger was very popular. $19 - roasted tomato, boursin cheese, hand cut fries. My son ordered the chicken cutlet - $18 fresh mozzarella, vodka aioli and chips. He skipped the sauteed spinach that was supposed to come on it. They took awhile to come out. The burger had a ridiculous amount of boursin on it (plenty of herbs and garlic coming off it), the meat was bland and the hand cut fries were a tad soggy. Even the bun was weak, so for $19 they can keep it. My sons sandwich was much better. The vodka aioli flavor was a home run with the thick cutlets. Still not worth $18, but much better than the burger. I had a Yards Washington Porter with my burger that slightly helped my disappointment. This place only gets the 4th star because I love history and the building has it. It was just OK other than that. Maybe a dinner/date night is in order to see what these higher yelp reviews are all about. Their entree prices seem much more in line. For lunch, I'm a no.

I haven't been to this site since it was Dublin Square which was a long time ago. Some of the layout changed. They no longer have the old bar separated from the dining area. Callie was our server and did a great job. I was there with some friends from SC. We started by ordering the large pretzel which comes out on a pretzel hanger along with some beer cheese for dipping. They also use that hanger for bacon. The pretzel was enough for 4 of us. I ordered the wings and selected Nashville Hot and Hog Sauce as my flavors. They claim they sell by the pound ($15.50) but it ends up being 8 wings. If you want to split flavors, they make it dry and bring the sauce on the side for dipping. Luckily the Nashville Hot is a dry rub. It was very good and not too spicy. The Hog Sauce is a combo of Buffalo and Garlic which was excellent. The wings themselves were plump, juicy and crispy. Five stars. Plenty of parking. Some tables available outside for outdoor seating when it ever gets nice in NJ. Bathrooms were very clean. You may find some little pink pigs around. Not sure if they're complimentary, but my wife took the one that was next to our table. My only complaint is they have too many of their draft beers designated for only 10 oz pours even with low ABV. I had a Kane Head High which was in a 16 oz glass. They also use OpenTable for reservations which I used as well.

Starting off strong with appetizers, the bacon trio rack not only presents nicely but tastes incredible. Thick cut Maple honey, sesame chili and candied bourbon, what will you choose?! The bang bang shrimp had an amazing chili kick. The vodka pie had my name all over it. It had the best cheese pull! Want a more high protein pizza? You'll want to try the chicken parmigiana pizza, with a crispy chicken cutlet serving as the dough instead! Try a Trenton famous tomato pie, and see that it compares well to other notorious spots in the area! Their Billy Mac cheeseburger came loaded with creamy Mac and cheese! We loved the Mac and cheese so much we even ordered it as a side. For a more traditional entree, try the short rib for a cozy fall dinner. The short rib was tender and inviting and came with an ample amount of mashed potatoes and veggies. A great healthier option. And save room for dessert, the chocolate chip cookie skillet and funnel cake fries are a MUST! The cookie skillet was warm and gooey and the funnel cake fries brought the classic treat without all the mess! Make Flying Pig tavern your next hangout spot.
