This is the local spot I wish I knew about sooner. What a cozy vibe! We came for pies on the patio which happens Tuesday nights. Great day to be there. Live music playing, heaters on for these cold winter days, drinks flowing -- all in their brand new back patio that reminds me of a rustic ski lodge. We tried their wood-fired pizza. The Hott Nott with hot pepperoni had the perfect kick, and the plain pie was simple but done really well. We got the disco fries made with Guinness sauce which are as good as it sounds. So saucy and cheesy. Then we had their signature wings -- we did buffalo and BBQ -- perfectly crispy and saucy in all the right ways. And you can't skip the cowboy burger -- juicy, messy, and absolutely worth it. Between the food, live music, and cozy pub vibes, plus also the attentive and warm staff, Nottingham Tavern is one of those places you instantly want to come back to. We went to see our friend Jerry Monk perform as well as have dinner. I called to ask whether it would be indoors or out and they said indoors. We arrived and it was outdoors where they illegally allow smoking (NJ laws ban smoking outdoors where food is served) and we had to leave. What a waste of time getting ready, dressed, made up and driving the half hour there! I am severely allergic to cigarette smoke. read more

We had a "celebration of life" after-party for my brother at the Nottingham Tavern earlier this week, and I can't say enough good things about the care, accommodations, service, and the FOOD. They set aside the covered Pavilion for us (with just a few days notice) and it was the perfect spot for us and our 40 or so guests. I know it's easy enough to give people a room and a buffet but our guests kept coming up to us during the event and texting us afterwards about how GREAT the food was as well as the location. The stuffed mushrooms and pizza stood out to me, and they were so helpful with putting together a menu that accounted for some guests with dietary requests and kids needing chicken fingers :). I can't say enough good things about how easy they made the event after a hard day. Thank you so much to Sammy and Lucy especially for helping make things go so smoothly, and checking in with us throughout the evening to make sure things were going as planned. It was perfect. I would recommend this spot time and time again for events, and I can't wait to come back and visit on a regular day next time I'm in town for lunch! read more

I'm at about a 3.5 for this homey neighborhood bar. I really felt comfortable in the large bar area and the outside patio looked good too. The menu had ample choices, but tap list is lacking. We shared the zucchini fries as an app, very good! Good portion and instead of the usual red sauce it was a creamy parm sauce, I'd get again. My friend had a grilled cheese and tomato soup( they are known to have good soups) and thought it was good. I did the Nott burger, it had potential with a nice meat blend in the patty and quality brioche roll. But it was cooked past the requested medium and was pretty dry. The huge mound of fries couldn't redeem the burger, because they were stale. I think there are better options here and I'd be open to coming again to try them. I'd like to see a few more selections on tap to entice the hipsters here, but judging by the regulars who were on hand, that doesn't seem to be what the bar is about. read more

Perfection is defined as a properly poured Guinness. Fantastic! Ordered the fish& chips only to find they got cleaned out over the weekend. Held a 60th Bday Party for my Sister-in Law in the Nott's front party room during May of 2025. From start to finish the experience was nothing short of perfection! Sam met with me beforehand to plan the food options. He is so nice, helpful and great to work with! Originally we wanted the party to be on their gorgeous patio, but the weather ended up being cold and windy. So, we made a last minute decision to hold the party inside and Sam and his team made it happen! John and Logan were our servers and they couldn't have been nicer or more hardworking. There was a buffet with Caesar salad, sausage, peppers and onions, vodka rigatoni and an array of wood fired, delicious pizzas. The front party room is modern and has TVs that were paired with our music. After the party, there was an fantastic band in the main restaurant area to keep the celebration going. Thank you to Sam and all of your professional staff for making my SIL's 60th a night to remember. Looking forward to planning future parties with you! read more

First time trying this place. Have been seeing a lot of "marketing", so wanted to see what we were missing. I had big expectations. We ordered the classic burger with fries and onion rings with two cokes. I have to say, the burger was very good! The fries and onion rings were nothing special. The soda was typical bar soda with glass filled with ice. Seeing the bill for $56 really through me off. It was just burgers etc? But what annoyed me most for some reason was they charged us for refill on the Coke. Bringing the total for soda with the meal being $12. Yes, eating out these days costs a small fortune, depending where you go, but the soda thing set me off for some reason. Especially when the glass was nothing but ice. This was not a way to attract a newbie back to their establishment. And I really wanted to support local business. Sorry but I have mixed feelings whether I would go back. Maybe I have to stick to entertainment days and just get a beer - "maybe"? The place itself was a nice old neighborhood bar with nice improvements. Will see if we give it another try? read more

Last night was my first visit to the tavern, and as a one time Hamilton resident, I don't know how I could've missed this great place. The patrons are second- and third-generation so it's definitely a locals place. And everyone is friendly and welcoming with no airs or nonsense. The staff is attentive and know their stuff. The barkeeps know how to draw a Guinnes precisely correct. :-) I was told the pub was renovated during the pandemic and it's a pleasant and airy space now. I was there for my friend Danny Coleman's Rock On Radio Happy Hour, and that alone was a lot of fun. The music act, Bud B., was very good! I made some new friends and that was a nice gift to start 2022. The kitchen's yet to reopen but word is the burgers will be great. read more

As of late, been at karaoke night and WOW. It's like a completely different place. Packed wall to wall, but the fact that other coworkers from the local Amazon warehouses were there definitely added to the experience. Kitchen still has no improvement but at least the DJ had both newer (think 2010) and classics to pick from. It's a first come, first served but it was efficient. Runs until midnight every Thursday, and if you're looking for a mob scene with on-tap specials, this is the place to go! Only problem is parking is quite tight! So either plan to go early or prepare for a little hike. read more

A great townie bar. Two American dart boards, shuffle bowling, Golden Tee, a great jukebox (now digital) and zero pretentiousness. This place is part of historical Hamilton Square and has been around a long time. I was told that "The Nott" was once a stop on the Underground Railroad. You will not find any fancy beers here. So here's the scoop - somehow this place was listed as a restaurant, which is unfair to some poor traveler who's looking around for a place to feed his family (maybe they'll make you an egg salad sandwich or hot dog in the back, I don't know), so I've submitted a change request to "nightlife". (Yelp, you need a few more categories.) Great place to hang out if you want to get drunk cheaply and hear ignorant locals yammer on about a dozen worldly topics they know nothing about. (I find this supremely entertaining, personally.) Nice people run the place, good prices, plenty of booze, toilets work, what more can you ask of a locals dive bar? Four stars, baby. read more

If your into getting attitude for asking the bar tender for a drink then this is your place! Maybe she was having an off night but won't be going back here again. We picked this place for my friends 35th birthday and ended up getting thrown out before they closed because some other regulars got in a fight with themselves and thrown into our table. Our half full drinks were promptly removed and we were told the bar was closing even though they were still open for another 30mins. Very odd as we had nothing to do with it. Note for your bartenders even though you were horrible. Clean up your tips quickly because the locals were taking them and buying drinks for themselves. read more

Unfortunately with the recent death of the owner, the fate of this bar is unknown. When it was under the old ownership however, it was a great quick place to grab a few drinks and to just relax. It was a nice bar with regulars who continued flooding in business generation after generation. No food however and no credit cards were accepted. I wonder what the fate of this bar will actually become. read more
