I was excited to hear about Harpoon Willy's coming to Robbinsville Township. A native of the Jersey Shore, I had always enjoyed the Manasquan/Brielle location. I was also intrigued to see how Harpoon Willy's would utilize this excellent space formerly known as Centro and a few other businesses. The ambience was top notch. We opted for the more dimly lit and lower ceiling bar area. The menu featured a wide variety of meat and seafood entrees, and some tasty appetizer choices. We ordered the "Firecracker Shrim" which was generously portioned and delicious. For entrees, I had a burger, while my wife enjoyed the "Downtown Fork & Knife" - essentially a burger topped by a big crabcake. The craft cocktail menu was well-done, with some just-released Spring seasonal cocktails. As a cocktail afficionado, I'm excited to say that Harpoon Willy's "Lavender Pisco" cocktail is one of the finest that I've enjoyed in recent years. Incredibly well-balanced and delicious! Our server "Kelly B." was friendly, professional, and informative. Pricing was a good value for the high-quality food, drinks, and service. Visited for the first time last night for dinner with my wife and another couple. A little confusion with where to enter. What appears to be the back, by the parking, is actually the main entrance. Extra steps walking around and trying the doors out front I suppose. The ambiance inside was amazing. Low lighting makes it cozy and the decor is how I wish my basement looked for gathering of friends. Our waitress, Madison, was friendly and attentive. We had plenty of space in a large round table/booth. Wife got a signature cocktail which she loved. I started with wings, Buffalo and our friend got cider bourbon glaze. I preferred the Buffalo and found both to be just OK. Both sets came out a bit charred which didn't fully showcase the sauces. My meal was the braised short rib entree which was the star of the meal. Just fantastic! Tender and flavorful. Rutabaga mash and Brussels sprouts were perfect pairings. Banana bread pudding and coffee for dessert. Coffee was excellent. Banana bread pudding was underwhelming. Lacking depth of flavor and just not what I expected. Wouldn't order it again. Overall, great experience. Will no doubt visit again especially now that we know what door to enter through. read more

Harpoon Willy's, a classy yet cozy restaurant, recently opened their second location in Robbinsville, New Jersey. I was so excited to have a famous Jersey shore institution open a new spot in Mercer County. We started off with the surf and turf gnocchi which was perfect for a cold winter night (review from February 2025). The gnocchi was light and fluffy, and the roasted garlic cream sauce perfectly complimented this pasta dish. I loved having ample pieces of shrimp and short rib to enjoy with it. The truffled tater tots were also a start to kick off the meal. The tots were crispy and crunchy and the bacon Gruyère dipping sauce was absolutely magical. The vegetarian pasta offered a wonderful vegetarian option that was comforting yet light at the same time. The truffle Parmesan chicken came with a large serving of asiago crusted chicken breast with the creamiest Parmesan risotto I've ever had. Each bite, taking me to paradise. For dessert, I wanted the death by chocolate, which is a five layer chocolate cake with chocolate ganache served with chocolate gelato. My sweet tooth was in heaven. This is the perfect dessert for any chocoholic like me! We had a really lovely experience at Harpoon Willy's. The service was fantastic and made us feel very taken care of. Three stars is extremely generous for a new restaurant that is still finding its stride. A sleek, modern interior belies obvious problems in the kitchen where meals come out lukewarm and portion sizes are emblematic of post-pandemuc chintz. My fish & chips could have been sushi it was so cold and my "cup" of clam chowder didn't exactly runnerh over. On the bright side, service was very spry and attentive and the space lends itself to an intimate evening with conversation at normal volume. I'll definitely give HW another try in another month or so but given the price point they have some work to do. FYI, there's a 3% surcharge for credit cards... an unwelcome harpoon. read more

This upscale restaurant was an absolute joy. Very relaxing atmosphere. The food was very good and the service was fantastic. We sat at a hightop table and got burgers and fish tacos. Our waitress Sam, who was also a bartender was so attentive and really made the experience top-notch- she even brought a toothpick for my leftover taco for the to go box. I haven't had service this good and genuine in years (and we eat out very often.) The crispy chicken sandwich was on semolina bread and the salad that went with the shrimp tacos was a healthy tasty addition instead of fries. (the fries onion rings were delicious as well.) While we did miss happy hour by only minutes they still had Wine Wednesday with seven dollar pours. (Happy hour M-F 3-6). Highly recommend and definitely coming back. read more

My wife and I came here the other night and enjoyed our food. First, there's plenty of parking nearby, so there was no issue there, although I guess they also offer valet? Seems a little unnecessary to me, but whatever :) The restaurant was pretty busy even at a pretty early hour (around 5 PM), but we did manage to get seated immediately. Service was maybe a tiny bit slow but nothing crazy. We did notice that staff members seemed to be lurking around the tables and circling without much reason, but maybe they were just trying to be helpful in case any tables had issues :) My wife and I enjoyed the free bread served before the meal, although the butter needed some salt, and we thought the Caesar salad was tasty. For our entrees, I got the crab cakes while my wife got the fish and chips. I think we were both pretty happy! The crab cakes were flavorful, although the roast potatoes were a little lukewarm. I sampled my wife's fries and they were pretty good although nothing extraordinary. Overall, the meal was a tiny bit pricey, so I'm not sure we'll be back regularly, but I did enjoy it! The building is a nice space and I'm glad to see that someone is using it again. read more

I an in no way a review guy. I just feel I have to leave one for this place. To begin we sat at the bar , which is extremely comfortable and pleasant. Unfortunately the bartender was not. I wouldn't say she was mean, but off putting is how I would describe the temperament. Onto food: I ordered lobster bisque For a starter. I am not certain what exactly I received but definitely not a bisque. Just an orange thin broth that somewhat tasted like something from the sea. I wouldn't describe the taste as Lobster. The shrimp appetizer was very good. Kudos there. My wife ordered the lobster roll for dinner. extremely disappointed. Very little lobster, and a pile of mayo on lettuce. I travel to Maine frequently, and I wasn't expecting it to be as good as in Maine; but this was beyond poor. I kept my dinner simple. Cheeseburger... easy one. Medium rare. What I got was beyond well done, soggy fries that were overly salted. I'm leaving the review in hopes that the mana will see it; and hopefully address it. It'd be a shame to see another business fail at this location, a the atmosphere is quite nice. I'd love to return one day with hopes of the food being much better. Again... I was looking forward to visiting this new restaurant and hate to be leaving a two star review but unfortunately it's warranted. I wish I could give 1.5 stars. the only good thing about our visit was our kind waitress and the garlic hummus appetizer (good value for money and delicious). I ordered the truffle parmesean chicken and unfortunately it was undercooked and raw. I politely showed it to my waitress who brought someone else over (maybe a supervisor) and they agreed it was undercooked. they offered to remake it which I said yes to. my friend slowly ate their burger while we waited for mine to come out, they were basically finished by the time my new meal came out. the new chicken was fully cooked thankfully. however we were both shocked to see the chicken was literally HALF THE SIZE OF THE LAST ONE. it was bizarre. I have uploaded photos of each. the same amount of spinach is on top of each. it was actually really strange how different the size was. me and my friend both noticed immediately without question. when the bill came, I would've expected the meal to have been comp'd. I was a bit surprised at that. (like hello i literally took a bite of raw chicken.) so I did tell my waiter that I'm fine with paying it but honestly was surprised to be charged. she double checked and they did comp my meal. all that aside, our meals in general were nothing to write home about. my friends burger was undercooked and just OK. My chicken was alright. I can understand it being their first day open and maybe making kitchen mistakes. I get it. but the inconsistency of the same chicken dish wasn't ok and I don't think it's ok to make me uncomfortable enough to mention my meal being comp'd. I'm definitely not someone that normally does that and personally,, if they had comp'd it without me mentioning it, then I may have even considered going back to give them another shot. A few nights ago, I took my granddaughters all FIVE of them for a nice dinner at harpoon Willie's place is beautiful. The bar was great. I got a nice booth. Service was a tent of everything we had was as expected. There was a bit of a slowdown between finishing dinner clearing and getting dessert that was the only downside I spoke to the manager, not a problem. Everybody pays attention and they're looking to make this place the best of the best it's right across the street from my office so it's very convenient to me. I'll be there again. read more

We had reservations and the young host said I can sit you in the bar area or the first table by the entrance! I don't think so... I said I would prefer a normal table since we had reservations. She said oh I didn't know if the larger parties would bother you? So you want to sit us in the bar or directly in front of the host station? The menu was limited very different then their other location. Food was just so so. I would expect better for the prices. Service was fine. I don't think we will be back to this location anytime soon. Perhaps work on your hosts. The place was empty and I am sorry but no everyone wants to sit in an entry way or the bar with a reservation. I hope this place succeeds, as I wished all the other restaurants in this location. It is on the corner of the Town Square in Robbinsville. The inside of this location is so big and airy. They set it up nicely with the booths in the dining room as it makes it feel a little more private. This was our first time here since it opened. We met up with our friends for brunch. Our server was very attentive and pleasant. I ordered the Challah French Toast and my boyfriend ordered the Jersey Benedict. Good size portions. The French toast was amazing, came with berries and dusted with powdered sugar. Only could eat a little bit and took the rest home. Heated up well the next day. The Jersey benedict was also a good amount of food and came with eggs benedict over pork roll and an english muffin and breakfast potatoes. The potatoes were well seasoned and not greasy at all, which I tend to notice with a lot of breakfast potatoes. Very good and look forward to trying them for lunch or dinner. read more

I enjoyed my experience here. My husband got Oysters and Calamari for appetizers and I enjoyed the shrimp cocktail. It is a little pricey as far as shrimp cocktail goes BUT the shrimp were HUGE! We did the Valentine's special Tomahawk for 2 which was great! Clearly we ate most of it before I remembered to snap a picture. They even burn the restaurant name into the bone. The steak was cooked perfectly and they even let us swap out the sides that we didnt like. Drink prices were comparable to the area and very good selection of wines. The service was great, we weren't bothered too much but we also weren't ignored! Everyone was polite and smiled at us on our way in and out. We were also given rolls, which were warm. Overall, the beers were cold, the Bloody Mary was spicy (good spicy) and the food came out hot. Both sandwiches were good. The price of the meals and Bloody Mary were comparable to other restaurants. The draft beers were a little pricey. The server was attentive. Very nice looking restaurant and top shelf liquor I ordered Tanqueray on the rocks and SO had wine. Both good pours. Also, the bartendar was excellent and fun. I ordered the lobster rolls for $29 which is the going price everywhere and SO had fish and chips. Both came with homemade French fries and were excellent. Ended up with double espresso. The place is priced the same as other comparable places that I have gone to. All in all great time and would return if in area. read more

I ordered the Main Street Burger, medium rare, it came out under cooked, raw looking. Burger and fries were lacking salt / seasoning, and were very bland. Some of the food portion sizes were small. Other things worth mentioning: Waitress asked what kind of cheese on the burger, I asked for Colby Jack. Waitress looked confused, and said they probably didn't have kind of cheese. I asked about a side dish (Mushrooms) she did not know they were on the menu, and could answer any details about them. Positives: My replacement drink a Long Island Iced Tea, came out fast and hand delivered by the bartender, and was good. We ordered the calamari, and me and my fiancé thought it was good. Manager took care of the drink situation, and was not charged for the drink. The atmosphere, and ambiance is nice. I got the pork chop, all I could taste was char. Not edible despite being juicy. The collard greens tasted very strange and the grits weren't good. Caesar salad was very salty and drenched in dressing. Kids buttered pasta had a puddle of butter that they were sitting in. When the noodles were lifted up butter was dripping off of them and not in the good way. On top of that the chowder was extremely watery and tasted like tortilla soup. Tortilla soup isn't even on the menu. Do not go here. First review I ever left. I was so disappointed in every way that I felt I needed to. So many other good restaurants to go to. I've been to Harpoon Willy's twice now, once for lunch and for dinner. Overall, the food is well prepared, and the service is first rate. I've enjoyed dishes like the special samosas, tuna stack, and crab cake. Still, I think three stars (I'd go 3 1/2 if I could) is accurate. If I have any issue, it's with this location's menu vs. Manasquan's which has more variety and is more seafood centric with options that don't necessarily come drenched in sauces that often hide the naturall flavor of the protein. Hopefully, the menu is a work in progress. I'd like this restaurant to succeed in a spot that hasn't been kind to previous occupants. read more

I was very and thoroughly impressed. The ambiance is very cool and a great vibe. How they pulled off a mix cozy with a sports bar atmosphere is impressive. The service was great. Lila our server, was attentive and pleasant. The menu is deep but not too confusing. Steaks, Sandwiches, Seafood, they offer a wide variety for anyone taste. Our food was delicious. It's a hidden gem. I would recommend you get there and experience it for yourself before word gets out. Otherwise you will need reservations. Parking is abundant with reserved spaces for HW. Another winning Willy venue! We have been dining at HW in Manasquan for years. When we heard of the new location in Robbinsville, we decided to take the ride and give it a try. We were not disappointed. Plenty of parking... Greeted by a smiling energetic hostess... Wait staff all congenial and readily available... Creative menu offerings... The Roasted Drunken Clams were just the right size and the serving size was ample. The Gnocchi appetizer was amazing, as was the Dumpling appetizer. Any of the appetizers could have been shared and still would have been amply sized. Entrees were perfectly cooked and the vegetable sides were delicious enough to stand on their own merit. KUDOS to the Harpoon Willy team for reinventing their brand in a very different location but with the same great features we gave come to expect from this family of eateries. read more

Five of us came in for dinner at 5:45 two days ago. We tried several different appetizers and entrees to share and everything was delicious. We had the New England clam chowder: flavorful and good amount of clams. Wedge salad: yummy with great dressing. Drunken clams: good broth but could be a bit more generous with the clams and serve with some crostini or toasted bread. Short ribs: tasty and loved by all in out group. Fish and chips: delicious but only 2 small pieces of fish for $27 not adequate as an entree. Will definitely go back but due to prices, It won't be often. Hopefully menu and pricing will be evaluated and adjusted with feedback. Service was good but servers are not experienced. No complaints and our server was very attentive. I had really high hopes for this place! We decided to go out for a dinner with the kids who were well behaved. So that was good. Also, overall, our service was lovely. Our waitress was very knowledgeable and tried her best to steer us towards the right selections. The ambience is cool and the bar looks like it would be fun for a happy hour with the girls. Now to the food. That's really where harpoon Willy falls on its face. We ordered the brisket, the chicken Parm and two kids meals, a burger and noodles. For appetizers, we got the oysters and truffle tater tots. The brisket had very little flavor and arrived lukewarm. The vegetables were cold and had a sharp unpleasant almost chemical taste. The chicken was anemic and small. Also not hot. For the apps. The oysters were great! The truffle TOTs more closely resemble Arancini balls so you don't get the texture you expect. These were delish. Well let's start out with the food taking forever to come out. Drinks are tiny. They use super small glasses and then a random waitress dropped a wine glass that hit me and my son and we were not accommodated for it. I had to get up while they cleaned around us. Portion size was small I got Mahi mahi and it came with rice very small amount and some green thing. Didn't even know what it was and we have eaten around the entire world. My wife's steak was undercooked and when the manager came over she stated "you should Have told us and we would have heated it more" instead of just taking it off the check. Waiter was a really nice guy nothing bad to say about him. But her food also came out cold. My son's kids pizza was disgusting we had to send it back and get chicken fingers which were undercooked. Bill was $129 and the Best part of dinner was a $15 pretzel appetizer. Clams were not worth $19. Very extra salty. Sad I was hoping this place would have been good. We live right down the street. I say it will be out of business by the end of 2025 and if not first quarter 2026. Menu is small. I felt like I was In France I was very hungry and left hungry. Even being I'm on a diet I didn't full even somewhat fool. Had to take the kids through a drive thru after being it was after 9 when we left. Won't ever go back felt the manager was a bit snippy. I found a small cut from the glass on my ankle when I got home and it was bleeding. Maybe I should sue them out of spite. Either way I'd rather eat nasty McDonald's over this place. read more

They really have to step up the seasoning and pairings. Who wants pecan crusted salmon served with an an apple fennel salad, red rice and red pepper puree? Weird at best. Just give me a side of mashed potatoes or yellow rice and roasted asparagus. The seafood special was underwhelming, bland and fishy, no lemon caper sauce. Please do better Harpoon Willy's!!
