    Large pizza is only 15"
    Brad M.

Slice of Brooklyn used to be our go-to take out pizza/Italian food in Hamilton. But their quality and service has degraded. On our most recent order I arrived at the time my order said it would be ready and still had to wait an additional half an hour for the pizza meanwhile the entrees I ordered became cold since they handed them to me 30 minutes before the pizza was ready. When I pointed out the entrees were now cold I was told I should microwave them when I get home... People that walked in after me and ordered in-person received their pizzas before me even though I had placed my order online. After 45 minutes from the time I had ordered, the pizza was finally ready but when I got home we discovered the dough was uncooked and inedible. I don't understand how after 45 minutes the pizza was not fully cooked. I called them up and they said they'd credit me for the pizza but it's been two weeks and I was still not credited for the pizza that went in the trash can. Very dissapointing. We will be sticking with Marcello's Pizza Grill from now on.

Not sure what the story is at Slice of Brooklyn. Smells great walking in, and the visuals are stimulating with front of house pasta making area, circulating gelato table and attractive pizza display separating customers from kitchen. Yet, there were no Italians running the show, and no hairnets and spotty glove use by the staff. Friendly they were, and helpful. I was there for takeout, although the dining room looked inviting. I ordered an eggplant parm sandwich which came with fries. It was ready about 15 minutes later, packed into a cardboard recyclable box and white paper bag for ease of transport. It had a pleasing heft to it as I carried it to my car. Opening it on the kitchen table about 20 minutes later, I beheld a large foot long plain roll stuffed with thin layers of eggplant with a heavy red sauce covering over a layer of melted parmigiana. Looked great. Had to squeeze the end of the cut sandwich together to get a corner of it into my mouth. First bite was promising. The sauce was thick with good flavor. The melanzone was lightly floured and plentiful. It's taste was of American eggplant; not overly flavorful, but satisfying. Not much cheese in comparison to the nightshade component, but that was okay. The roll while large, had little taste and was soft rather than offering any crunchy texture along its ridgeline. The fries were generically generous, but not worth the caloric intake. Slice of Brooklyn has promise, but aside from the store atmospherics it really needs to up its game in the bread and quality control departments if it wants to be true to its namesake hometown.

I ordered a Sicilian from here for the first time and It was so good I actually called the place to thank them .. also 22 weeks pregnant so almost nothing even taste good and this was by far the best Sicilian I have ever ate in my life living in New Jersey & my family agreed .. the pizza was super cost effective as well and fed my family of 4 with plenty left over! (Side note, as an Italian I'm very much particular of sauce & the sauce on this pie was actually amazing and they don't skimp at all .. you could actually taste the "homemade" in it .. super impressed! Great customer service as well! Highly recommend!

    Tons of selection for slices

Just found out about this place and was anxious to try it out since I love pizza growing up in New York. Reviews and pictures were a little concerning because I hate well done (burnt) pizza and some people said theirs was not cooked all the way through. Thankfully that was not the case when my friend and I went. Tthe two pies we got were cooked perfectly and delicious. We had meatballs on half and sausage on half. The pizza sauce was flavorful the dough was a nice New York style and you can see the glistening on the top of it. Not sure if the add olive oil at the end but delicious. Definitely worth the effort to go and try out will definitely go back again. Ivan the manager came out to talk to us afterwards because we had a lot of questions before we ordered at the counter, very friendly guy.

    House Made Garlic Bread

The urge to try out a new pizza place led me Slice of Brooklyn. They are apparently an offshoot of Marcello's in Bordentown, which I've been meaning to try out as I've heard good things. We got the house made garlic bread (2.5/5) to start off. It was definitely a unique preparation, so I'll give them credit for trying something different, but it was not something I'd recommend. It was really greasy & extremely heavy, and not in a good way. The garlic aspect of it was ok, but the the bread was unmemorable & slightly over cooked, and along with all the grease, it made us not want any more after trying it. I couldn't make out all the different styles of pizza on the menu. The Big Ben (2.5/5), which was described as a hand-stretched thick Sicilian pizza with cheese blend, sauce, parmagiano, basil, & olive oil jumped out at me, so I ordered it despite the price tag of $25. I thought it'd be something unique worth the extra cost. Sadly, the taste was not all that good. The tomato sauce was probably the best part of the pizza with cheese being merely average and dough unremarkable. Perhaps wood-fired pizza just isn't my thing. I honestly wouldn't order either of these 2 items again if I were to return. There's too many good Italian eateries & pizzerias in the Hamilton area, so probably won't be back at Slice of Brooklyn, but will stick to something simpler like a standard plain pizza and garlic knots if I were to get food from there again, or perhaps one of their sandwiches.

    Cruisin' Da Strip

Great food, the ziti was nicely cooked and the "cruisin the strip" pizza was fantastic. Quick service, nice appearance. Will def be back

Tons of varieties at this place

This is my go to spot for pizza. Their garlic knots are also off the chain. I recently learned that they also make their own Gelato and pasta! I love lemon ice from Rita's Ice, but they haven't had any lately so I was happy to see Lemon Gelato and just had to sample it. I ended up purchasing a cup to go because it was so good. From now on I will be getting my Lemon Ice fix from here. On my next trip I plan to check out their Homemade pasta dishes. Last time I had Homemade pasta I was in Italy so I look forward to checking it out and will update my review once I get a taste.

    Chicken pesto caprese panini
    Cassandra P.

Menu looks pretty good. They have many different options to choose from. I ordered the pesto caprese panini. The food was ready really quick, so this is great for convenience. The bread was very fresh, the chicken and and all the toppings were also fresh and tasty. It came with some french fries which had the perfect amount of crunch.

I pretty damn close to being a fan. And I'll definitely be back to sample more items. Even though the young gentleman who got my takeout order ready told me this is not a chain, the menu reveals that they are affiliated with Marcello's of Bordentown. I wasn't really in the mood for a whole pie, although some sound very interesting( that's you pirogi pie..;)) luckily some are available as slices. I was in the mood for a steak sandwich, and also ordered a side dish of meatballs. I find them a useful gauge when testing the waters. Once inside I added on a slice of the grandma pie for another time. The slice case looked great, many options for just grabbing a quick bite. The other case contained sliders that were made with large garlic knots. They looked amazing and are priced at 3 for $15. Dried homemade pastas and takeout sauces are also on display. My car smelled great riding home and I couldn't wait to dive in. My enthusiasm was slightly dampened when I opened the box to find a very small specimen. This was half of the size of my fav local shop, which is ironically close by. In my confusion and slight disappointment I didn't get a photo. I also should have measured, I'd say it was 7 inches at most. But on the plus side, it was very good. Great homemade and crusty bread, tender steak, and nicely cooked peppers and onions. If the meat had been filled to capacity I may have been less critical, but it was not. I'd really like to get this again, but at $13 and nothing else included, this was too expensive. The meatballs were better priced at 3 for $8 with good sauce included. I really like them and had for another meal. I'd get again. The slice was good too, very good crust and same sauce as balls. For a whole pie I might go with a Trenton style tomato pie or one of the unique ones. The interior is fast casual, probably not a place to BYOB but I'm sure it's allowed. They've only been open a few weeks and their grand opening is this weekend I think. I hope the size of the sandwich was a glitch, and that customer service gets a bit friendlier. Food wise I'm pretty much a fan, but pricing and attitudes need a little work perhaps. 3.5 Yelps

    Overcooked
    Carl T.

First tried them in May 2022 and it instantly became our family go-to for Friday pizza and wings. We've literally ordered 10 pies in one day for a party at all times of the day and all were perfect. However, since 2023, we've ordered every Friday with increasing disappointment each time. Pizzas come burnt, along with overcooked garlic knots. Wings are over cooked and don't come with much sauce (honey sriracha). Food is too expensive to be bad.

We were visiting my brother in hamilton twp. And he told us about this great pizza place. So we went and being originally from Brooklyn, slice of pizza represents Brooklyn very well. Probably the best have had since we've been in Jersey. Thank you guys.

Slice of Brooklyn Old Fashioned Pizza (square)
    Moiz T.

They just opened up and everything was delicious. I don't think the location does this place justice. We got an Old Fashioned Brooklyn pie (square) and it was great. Crust, sauce, and cheese were on point. Also had the Chicken Parmesan sub which was flavorful. The staff was great and gave us an extra cannoli! They also make there own pasta in house which is a plus. I definitely recommend trying this place out.

Once again, the spaghetti from an Italian restaurant was lackluster as well, this is like ordering a wonton soup from a Chinese restaurant and it not meeting your expectations. We tried a gluten free pizza as well, my girlfriend enjoyed it. I can only describe the pizza being almost like a cracker.
