It is a brave thing to try and sell pizza in Hamilton when Papa's and DeLorenzo's are practically within shouting distance. That is like opening a lemonade stand between two Niagara Falls. And yet Nonno Sal's keeps the ovens hot and the lights on. There's something admirable about that. Persistence is a virtue, and so is knowing exactly what you are. Nonno Sal's isn't chasing the high end pizza pilgrim. You won't find philosophical arguments about char or hydration levels happening here. What you will find is a fairly dependable pie with thin crust that holds up, a good layer of cheese, and sauce that tastes like someone has been making it the same way for awhile. The slices fold without complaint and the toppings behave themselves. It's the sort of pizza you bring home on a Friday when everyone is tired and nobody wants to cook or a speech. The prices are kinder to your wallet than the famous spots nearby, and that matters. Not every meal needs to be a religious experience. Sometimes food just needs to feed five people without causing regret. The sandwiches and salads are solid citizens too. Nothing showy, just competent and filling. They even still do a nice version of Peppers and Eggs, which is a throwback I can appreciate. The dining area has a few old Formica tables that look like they have seen a few Little League celebrations, but not much regular use. You can eat there if you like, but this is a takeout joint through and through. In a world that rewards spectacle, Nonno Sal's rewards appetite and respects your budget. It knows its job and does it. That's more than can be said for most things anymore. Four stars for staying in your lane and driving it well. read more

Located in a small strip mall shop on Route 33 near the border of Robbinsville and Hamilton is Nonno Sal's Pizza. It's one of those places that can be easily missed if you're not looking for it, as there is no signage along the road to indicate a pizza place (not one that I could see having passed by many times over the years). Italian eateries and pizza parlors are a dime a dozen in the area, however this one is mainly suited for take out, with a few tables off to the side to eat a slice or have a quick no frills lunch. It's definitely not a fancy place you'd want to dine in at, despite having a full menu of pizza and Italian dishes. We kept things simple by ordering a large plain cheese pizza and a chicken parmigiana sandwich. The pizza was slightly above average for a central NJ pizzeria, with decent sauce, cheese, and crust. It was a slightly thinner base and crust as compared to more doughy and thicker counterparts in the area. The chicken parm sandwich was similarly above average with decent ingredients. Everything was satisfying and on par for a good central NJ pizza experience. I'd rate my overall experience a solid 3.5/5, but happy to round up since the person working the counter was kind and thanked me when I went to pick up. read more

Got dinner from here today and really liked it! I ordered some buffalo wings and tacked on a slice of cheese pizza when I picked up my order because I wanted to get a more complete survey of the food. One of my only complaints is that they took ~15 minutes longer than expected to prepare my order, so I was standing around bored for a while once I arrived at the restaurant. That being said, the cashier was apologetic, and it's always nice to get fresh, hot food, so I can't complain too much :) The pizza was OK, but nowhere close to the quality of some of the other pizza places in Robbinsville. The buffalo wings, though, were delicious, and I was really impressed by the price point. I can definitely see myself coming back here when I have a craving for some wings! read more

New favorite pizza place in the area - the kids insist we order from here only. The Brooklyn is a pizza of our dreams - buttery fresh mozzarella, bright basil and amazing sauce. The regular pizza is also a hit - sauce to cheese ratio perfect, with emphasis on cheese. HORRIBLE FOOD. SO disgusted with my experience with both this establishment AND SLICE. $50 order, vodka rigatoni pizza with sausage and ricotta, Italian "hoagie" and two orders of calamari. Asked for pepperoni on the hoagie. Got THREE PIECES of pepperoni, barely any meat and a roll that was as stale and as hard as a rock. Completely inedible. Literally threw away the entire hoagie. For that three pieces of pepperoni I was charged an additional $10, bringing my total to $60. The sandwich itself is $7. The pizza. NO RICOTTA. Bland "vodka" sauce. Nothing more than macaroni and bread with barely any sausage, even though I ordered AND PAID for DOUBLE sausage. Calamari was like rubber. Soggy and chewy all at once. NEVER AGAIN. Made the mistake of ordering through Slice instead of Grubhub. Once more, NEVER AGAIN. Their response to my complaints? A $4 credit to the restaurant. Seriously????? The extra charge for an inedible hoagie was more than the credit for a sandwich we couldn't eat, credit for a restaurant we will NEVER order from again. USELESS. Nonno Sal's is a tiny pizza shop on Rt. 33, with three tables and a large counter. It is basically a take out place, but I like to eat my pizza hot, so I grabbed the back table under the TV and ordered two plain slices to test the waters. The joint is a bit unkempt and has the feel of a place that needs some TLC. The pizza is average for the area - firm crust, adequate sauce/cheese ratio, but has an oil drip out the back end of a folded slice. Can't speak to anything else on the menu as my first test is always the slice deuce to see how much attention is paid to the primary product. Not enough, I'm afraid; so I doubt I'll be back to try anything else. read more

Love the food here! They are located two doors down from where my partner works and we are there a couple times a day during his shifts. They have great salads, the wraps are excellent and the pasta and sauces are always delicious! We are always buying a couple of slices at a time each day. Always a great selection for walk ins. We have never gotten delivery because we are always there and they are on my way home from work, but they say they will deliver to Hamilton near the Kmart. I understand there are busy times but the Slice app said it was a 60 minute wait for delivery. After 20 mins I received an email stating 90 minutes but it took about 2 hours for my delivery to arrive. This is unacceptable for 2 pizzas, 1 salad & a 2 liter of soda. I called the restaurant to voice my concerns with the time after the 2hr mark hit and the person that answered said oh yeah we are busy. I understand that but 2 hours is awful & no one tried to make it right either. The food was delicious as always but after 2 hours anything would have tasted good. read more

I cannot say enough good things. I order delivery regularly. The food arrives within the promised timeframe and it is hot. We primarily get the pizza which is far and away the best in the area. We have also had buffalo wings, mozzarella sticks, tiramisu, cheese steaks, among other menu items, none of which disappointed. If I could give no stars I would just because of my gross experience. I went in just to grab a slice while on errands. After they pulled it out she pulled the slice off my plate and put it on a clean plate with her bare hands. Then I asked her for a new slice that she didn't touch with her hands. She dumped the slice that she had her grubby hands all over back on the tray for someone else to eat. It's going to be a major no for me. Ordered food tonight along with the rest of my co workers. I got the fettuccine Alfredo with s side salad. The salad was okay. The lettuce was a bit brown to me and my co workers. As far as the fettuccine goes it had to be the worst I've ever had. It was like I was eating just sauce and noodles. It had no season to it. Keep the expectations in check. They have decent pizza, and deliver. I stick to the Sicilian pizza, and they have it at my house in 30 min. It's always consistent and cooked properly. A health code nightmare! No one speaks english and seems to have just come from mexico where they have no idea what a health code is. With no gloves, handling a mop and then your food. I canceled my order and they couldnt comprehend or speak english as to why I would not want my food. And i get an attitude from the stocky guy. I am sure there are bonified american citizens that would love to have a job that knows this countries health codes. read more
