Solid plain pizza. I really liked the sauce. It had a good amount of sweetness to it. By the time we got the pizza to eat, it was a little cold. And we weren't in a place to be able to reheat it. Would love to try again with a nice hot pizza.

The facility is surprisingly dirty. I ate here on a Sunday morning because there were no other options and I was under a time constraint. Decent chicken parm sandwich but I would not return because of the filth.

Inedible hoagie. DISGUSTING, rock hard bread barely any meat.

HORRIBLE FOOD. SO disgusted with my experience with both this establishment AND SLICE. $50 order, vodka rigatoni pizza with sausage and ricotta, Italian "hoagie" and two orders of calamari. Asked for pepperoni on the hoagie. Got THREE PIECES of pepperoni, barely any meat and a roll that was as stale and as hard as a rock. Completely inedible. Literally threw away the entire hoagie. For that three pieces of pepperoni I was charged an additional $10, bringing my total to $60. The sandwich itself is $7. The pizza. NO RICOTTA. Bland "vodka" sauce. Nothing more than macaroni and bread with barely any sausage, even though I ordered AND PAID for DOUBLE sausage. Calamari was like rubber. Soggy and chewy all at once. NEVER AGAIN. Made the mistake of ordering through Slice instead of Grubhub. Once more, NEVER AGAIN. Their response to my complaints? A $4 credit to the restaurant. Seriously????? The extra charge for an inedible hoagie was more than the credit for a sandwich we couldn't eat, credit for a restaurant we will NEVER order from again. USELESS. HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE STAY AWAY FROM BOTH NONNA SAL'S AND SLICE. You're welcome.

Nonno Sal's is a tiny pizza shop on Rt. 33, with three tables and a large counter. It is basically a take out place, but I like to eat my pizza hot, so I grabbed the back table under the TV and ordered two plain slices to test the waters. The joint is a bit unkempt and has the feel of a place that needs some TLC. The pizza is average for the area - firm crust, adequate sauce/cheese ratio, but has an oil drip out the back end of a folded slice. Can't speak to anything else on the menu as my first test is always the slice deuce to see how much attention is paid to the primary product. Not enough, I'm afraid; so I doubt I'll be back to try anything else.

Appetizer menu with all good things.

The ambience is smart casual, and not fussy, but with food and service that you'd expect at a place that charges double the prices. All of the food was top notch. Standouts are the artichoke heart Francese, mozzarella en corrozza, and fried calamari appetizers; and chicken Italiano, chicken marsala, and salmon Neapolitan mains. Their tiramisu and tartufo capped off the meal perfectly. If you're in Trenton or Princeton, Gennaro's is worth the drive.

The Veal Sorrentino sounded mouth watering by the ensemble cast of ingredients listed on the menu (prosciutto, eggplant, mozzarella, light marinara-white wine). Overall, this dish was very disappointing, I couldn't taste any flavor in the meal. Once again, the spaghetti from an Italian restaurant was lackluster as well, this is like ordering a wonton soup from a Chinese restaurant and it not meeting your expectations. We tried a gluten free pizza as well, my girlfriend enjoyed it. I can only describe the pizza being almost like a cracker. This is not neccessary a bad thing but think flatbread pizza, not the type of pizza where you get a nice chewy bite. At $50+ plus dollars between the two items I can say I am glad I gave it a shot but I would not bring home take out from here again, I would give it a try in person though and reevaluate after the experience. As always people SYOY!!!

I felt like I was in the city with the gorgeous lighting and ambiance. My friend and I went on ladies night, where every Wednesday they have a DJ and 10% off food/drinks at the bar! We started off with 3 different apps, the zucchini fritte, the meat and cheese board for two, and the rice balls. Everything was phenomenal! The rice balls were stuffed with shredded beef instead of ground beef which I liked and the Gorgonzola cheese sauce was tangy and savory. The zucchini fritte was fried to a golden crisp and felt light and satisfying. The meat and cheese board is truly perfect for pairing with some pre-dinner drinks! Neither of us felt like drinking that night so I got the Stella Rose red berry spritz and she got the black berry spritz. These were fruity and sweet and perfect for a night out. Great alcohol free options. For dinner I got the cacio e pepe which came in a huge serving. The pasta was cooked perfectly al dente and I really liked how creamy and cheesy it was without feeling too heavy. My friend got the eggplant rollatini which was a humongous portion and she devoured it and still had some for leftovers. These were both great meat-free options. For dessert I had the chocolate lava cake which was rich and decadent. Perfect for sharing but mine was all for me! My friend had the creme brûlée which she indulged on without a single bite to spare! Can't forget to mention the impeccable service! Our server Andres was so sweet and took excellent care of us and always checked in with us. I'm so glad I finally checked out Spigola! This is a perfect restaurant for a great meal. My Chicken Piccata was well-seasoned and flavorful. Cons: While the staff was pleasant, the service was extremely slow--especially considering there were only seven tables seated and we were the first to arrive. Our table of five ordered just two appetizers, yet the entire meal took three hours to complete. This delay was not due to extended conversation but rather very slow kitchen execution and service. Additionally, over the course of three hours, I was served only two glasses of water, the second of which I had to request. Water glasses were left half-empty for long periods; refills should be automatic. Finally, the broccoli served with my Chicken Piccata was ice cold. Overall: There are many other Italian restaurants in the area offering comparable pricing with significantly better food quality and far superior service.
