16" Sicilian Pizza
Avery T.

Best sicilian pie All Time!!! I am 36 and have had so many sicilians... from Hopewell NJ, lived all over the country NY, VA, WA.... amazingly awesome here... cheese top quality, sauce is sweet but not too sweet, absolutely outrageous sauce steals the show... and then the bake/dough is just perfect... kind of chewy and heavy slices the way I love it... Totally epic... this takes crown as my favorite sicilian ever congratulations will be ordering many more times and telling all my friends how good=). Well done should be proud.. Avery T

Empty box

This review is just for very bad TO GO order they had placed. We had ordered 4 "cheese pizza" slices. 2 slices in each box. There were only 2 slices in one box and other box was empty. When i called them, the guy over a phone on other side was completely sure that this thing didn't happened. N rude n dropped the call. What i learned is these guys are completely rude when you complain..

Its about the 6th time I've been to Villa Rosa in the last few months! I went to a family get together in June 2017 at the restaurant. Everything that was served was delicious! From salad to pasta to chicken parmigiana!!! I've been back for sandwiches a few times! The rolls they use for the cheesesteaks & other sandwiches are great!!! The best rolls in this area!!!

BBQ chicken

OK it may not be the go-to pizza place you'll tell your grandchildren about, but this restaurant, tucked in the same complex as Five Guys, Italian People's Bakery, East Sushi and a Family Dollar, is actually pretty decent. The review is just for the pizzeria side of the business (the restaurant is on the other side of the room). The pizza are, for lack of better adjectives, delicious. Thin and a bit crispy on the dough, and with quite generous portion of whatever you order (we ordered the BBQ chicken and veggie). The strombolis were also quite delectable, with a proper level of gooeyness and content quality. Good decent pizza spot for your money.

My experience here has been with delivery or takeout. Really good pizza and nice portions on their salads!

Maybe you remember Sal's from back in the day when dining Italian style home cookin Nonna was the…read morething and if you go to Sal's today, it's still the thing. My daughter was at their Super Bowl party last night and it was something to remember. Crab boil on paper. New Orleans style. Lots of irresistible food and a big screen TV. Who knew that one of the best Super Bowl parties would be at Sal's ?! Well, now you know and that's not just the Super Bowl party.....any night or day you can depend on an amazing menu. I have always been known for making Greco's Clams Casino ....very specific about how they did it and I do it exactly that way and people go absolutely mad. 90% of restaurants that offer claims Casino don't know what Clams Casino is. And my daughter told me that their Clams Casino is as good as mine Whaaaat?! ...they make old time roasted dirty chicken, and if you're reading this and you know what that is, (you serve it with some bread which becomes dirty bread) and just mop it all up..... The family will be there to delight you with memories of delicious dining in the 'Burg'..... Sal's is in the Marrazzo's Market shopping center tucked in off to the side right next to the popcorn people and across from Rita's They have a lovely wine bar and you can bring your own anything .... And who knew you could go there and hang out .....have a glass of wine and a little appetizer and watch your favorite game on the TV..?!!! and speaking of sports TV while I'm dining I really am a girly girl when it comes to that but I know the rest of the world loves it ...What I liked is that I didn't have to dine with the TV right in my face like a lot of other places .....it was there and people can watch it, but you can just forget it's there .. it's not obvious at all .... Which makes the dining experience perfect for everyone...and that's the way it should be done.... The prices are a little higher than some Italian restaurants, BUT, that's because all the ingredients are absolutely as fresh as you can get them and by the way, fresh ingredients make all the difference in flavor and presentation. There is actually someone in the kitchen who is preparing your meal uniquely and perfectly just for you No corporate predictability here. Not like most Italian restaurants where you actually don't need the menu cause you know what they're gonna serve. I am really fussy about my corporate run restaurants some of them are obviously OK but some of them are just so boring. It's ridiculous. Here's what you really have to do ....go over there and have a great meal and then go back and then go back ..... It has definitely become one of Ewing's amazing collection of a "little hole in the wall" type restaurant. The dining area is L shaped and off to the back is a lovely fireplace, very romantic, and the whole dining area is open and designed beautifully ....so when you step inside the door, you will definitely know that this is a place you can take your mom or you can take your date or you can just go and watch a football game and eat some good wings We certainly love those tucked-away places the best !!!..... and if you're not familiar with that way of picking your dining experience, visit this family style Italian restaurant and you'll know what I'm talking about..! Hurry up.....

I order this dish all the time and have had dozens of variations with this one landing in the top 3. Overall, the atmosphere, food, and excellent service earned Sal 5 stars!

From the moment we arrived, everything felt just right--the environment was warm and inviting, the food was truly exquisite, and the team was impressively wonderful. Israel and Jocelyn were especially attentive, sweet, and genuinely supportive throughout our evening. Their hospitality elevated an already fantastic experience. I truly cannot say enough about the food--my daughter and I were blown away (and I wish I had taken pictures!). She loved it so much she ordered a second dish to take home for the next day. As someone who eats carb-free, I was incredibly grateful for how gracious and accommodating the kitchen was--no fuss, no awkward substitutions, just pure, delicious perfection. My daughter absolutely raved about her veal, the rotini salad, and the mushroom barley soup to boot. And a special nod to the BYO--near and dear to my heart. I'll happily bring a lovely bottle of wine for $12 rather than pay $20 for less impressive options. Five stars all around. Cheers to you, Carlucci's Grill--you've earned a loyal fan.

The space is very minimalist with nothing but 2 photos (?) on the walls. As the night progressed the noise level increased but not overwhelming so. I was concerned about the size of the menu with there being around 28 various entrees. In the past I've learned that less is usually best making it easier for the kitchen to perfect their dishes. This total did not include the 2(?) Special entrees. I chose the special Risotto Carbonara with guanciale, cream, mushrooms and cheese and was disappointed. The risotto was overcooked with the usual risotto "bite" missing. There was little seasoning in the dish and not much in the way of quantity of guanciale. In comparison, the Osso Bucco was very good with a rich gravy and side of mashed potatoes. I'm not sure if I'd return. BYO.

You actually have to call the restaurant! Old school The servers and service was excellent great staff! Now the food also was outstanding! From the meatball appetizer which was huge. Both main dishes were massive and totally absolutely delicious! We couldn't finish any of it. No wait at 5p, but there were a few waiting when we left. BYOB. Food overall is great. I wouldn't get the alfredo again but it was probably one of the better ones I've had. The alla vodka is one of the better ones I've had in PA but I'm still on the search for something that rivals the options in NY. The giant mozzarella was probably the highlight, and I appreciate the staff was able to "vegetarian-ize" pasta dishes for me. Pizza was really good. Two of my friends asked for garlic/cheese etc for their pizza numerous times and did not receive. One pizza was supposed to be a large but they brought a small, and I think he was too hungry to send it back. Chocolate cheesecake was okay but I wouldn't get it again. Portions are big, I ordered 2 pastas and it's been my lunch all week. Main complaint was that our waitress made us feel really rushed, probably due to it being Valentine's Day, which put a bit of a damper on the evening. Thinking back, the whole dinner did feel pretty "fast" which isn't ideal for a great experience. Would consider returning.
