If I am looking for home decor or clear storage items (which you know I live these!!) this is my first stop. You can get great storage containers here and save quite a bit of money. (Love that!) I have even found Tupperware (the brand) here for a great price. The line is almost always long but it usually moves fast. The cashier is friendly & polite too. read more

It's across from a lot of big stores including some rivals and similar stories with the same ownership in the Bunker Hill Plaza, but if you're over here on the "Angry Inch" Hedwig Village side of the highway which is the south side, then this is your best bet, and is brand new. read more

One of my friends told me to shop at this particular Marshall's as he got a few good deals. So I drove down to check them out. It is setup like most other Marshall's that i have visited. I was looking for a couple of golf shirts but there were no deals to be found here today. I did purchase a few other things that were on clearance and were great deals. They have a very large clearance section so I wasn't in any rush and took my time to look them over. In the end I will visit again of i am in their area. read more

I don't know why I always think if I go to a Marshall's on a wealthier side of town the selection will be a lot better than if I visit a Marshall's on a more middle-lower class area, well maybe that statement can be a bit true sometimes! On this case, it wasn't true. The selection was just OK; I was preferably looking at the shoe department, purses, clearance aisle, specialty foods, and juniors. Oh, lets not forget about the ladies restroom which was very disgusting and needed to be cleaned! The smell was nose bleeding bad, I'm not sure how I could tolerate it without making a mess of the floor. The shoe department didn't have any cute flat shoes just OK looking ones that was still expensive. If you wear a size 9 1/2 don't come looking here to find any cute nice shoes on the clearance rack because you won't find anything. You'd think if I just squeeze my feet into a size 8 1/2 shoe maybe it could work; nope I wouldn't advise you do that! The purses were alright if you just that type of gal that likes a nice purse that looks like the next person's; that's not OK by me because I prefer a purse that no one has ever seen before or something along the unique side or strange. The clearance aisle is exactly why I see they didn't add any meaningful things to the clearance. It was bunch of notebooks, picture frames, broken this and that, and cups. The foods; mostly anything that is health food addict, jams, teas, and seasonings. Nothing that will catch your eye. Oh, and those Walker biscuits that taste like cardboard literally. Last, but not least the juniors section was fairly nice if you wear a size XS or S. The graphic tees nowadays aren't even worth buying because you might as well consider yourself a hipster . I expected more from this store and honestly I guess now I am glad that my boyfriend was rushing me out the store, so we could go study. read more

OMG THEY CHASED US TO THE FRONT LIKE CATTLE!!!! Totally crazy we were in there and bought $35 in dog treats, (btw this place has an awesome selection) and then at 6 they turned half the lights down and pushed like lambs to the slaughterer the cashier line. The craziest part was we stood in line for 20 minutes. You know how much more stuff we could of found in 20 minutes... they were so rude that i was shocked I was still in Marshall's!! I even told the guy that my girlfriend and her son were in line and I was going to be just a minute and he still was incredulous. We may go there for the dog food, but they are the real food processed by the dog... no customer service whatsoever. read more

Of all the locations in the area, this one is probably one of the better ones. Maybe where it's at has something to do with that?? IDK, but I will say that there is far more to choose from in terms of larger goods (furniture, rugs, etc...) than at any other location I've been to. That said, I've always been able to find decent selections here. I've purchased quite a bit from Marshalls over the years and often have to dig for something - only to be left disappointed because it's been damaged, a one-off, or just wasn't in the greatest of conditions - some stuff even expired (pay attention to those cosmetics/skin goods ladies). That's not been the case at this one. More often than not - I've been happy and have found far more than what I went in to purchase, to begin with. Overall - as a result of the vast amount of stuff - it's also crowded and somewhat difficult to navigate through the store. The staff isn't exactly ready and willing to accommodate and/or assist, but it is what it is. It says a lot about the caliber of service they offer as a whole, so take it for what its worth. We visited Marshall's right after having lunch in the area. I must have come at just the right time of day because it wasn't crowded and the isles were robust with cool finds. My search was for decorative items for my daughters desk. We were not dissapointed. Checkout is always intimidating because of the way they built the line so you around surrounded by things you don't need but will surely add to your cart anyway. As I was leaving the line outside was very long. I will definitely be back. If you are in the area you should check them out. read more

Yes, I like Marshall's for a number of reasons: - Clothes: at this River Oaks store, they offer some designer clothes, and quite a bit of local football wear (Texan, A&M, UH, UT,etc) and the prices can be half of other retailers. I also like their selection of shoes. - Dog goodies and Supplies: they typically have quite a nice selection of dog treats, toys, carriers, beds, and assorted accessories. Again, the prices are really good and the expiration dates on treats are usually far into the future, but always check them. - Luggage: this location carries a considerable selection of luggage in most sizes, from lower end, to top of the line. -Return Policy: I have had to return a few items, and they are liberal with their return policy. I used to LOVE Marshall's and was loyal customer for years. But today I faced to totally unfair return policy! I bought "designer's" sweater with a lot of pearls and rhinestones sewn on it. This item had red tag on it. Ones I remove this tag fletchers become non returnable. That's ok, sells person told me this at check out. So I came back home, tried sweater, like it and removed tag with purpose to wear. After I shake sweater to get read of dust. And know what, a lot of rhinestones and pearls simply fallen of all around the floor. When I came back to Marshall's and tried to return defective product I was rejected because of store policy about stuff with removing red tag is non returnable. I asked for exemption for me from this policy being customer who spend hundreds in store. Still no! I understand policy, but stuff with hidden imperfections and defects SHOULD be returnable no matter what. So, be wise buying their "designer's" clothes. Instead of giving hard time to Marshall's buyers who brought trashy stuff to store they will give it to you! read more

Needed to purchase one item yesterday at 2 pm.. the un-distanced line was 50 people long and went all the way down to toys.. I like this location. They have name brand clothing, furniture, food items, etc. all at a reasonable price (as do all Marshalls of course). I like that they have all the coolest finds for the Fall season and the upcoming holidays. The store could be a bit more organized but I don't mind digging for the best bargains. read more

This was a strange one for me. Not used to seeing this combination of Marshall's and Home Goods together. Typically in California they slap TJ Maxx and Home Goods together, then organize things on each corresponding side, which I find helpful. I found the store to be pretty clean, well stocked and organized. Unfortunately the line was just way too long for a Tuesday afternoon (2pm-ish). And since I had only found one item I decided to leave it there even though I had already waited for a few minutes, as there was no movement in the line, just a whole lot of employees adding sensors to returned items and seemingly walking around aimlessly behind the counter, avoiding eye contact w/ customers. Seems it would've been more effective to have management address the fact that there weren't enough registers open. I counted four. read more

Besides the fact that the store is almost completely empty with no product I encountered a man who obviously had a persistent cough no face mask on not even attempting to cover up his cough. Then he continue to walk in my direction i walk the opposite way and coughed over and over and over and it wasn't just like a small coffee was like full on phlegm nasty cough. so I'm sure the store can't do much about it but I thought they had some kind of responsibility to maybe say something to him but apparently not because apparently marshals don't give a shit. read more

I've been shopping at this Marshall's since the early 80s, back when it was one of the few Marshall's in Houston. Back then, I believe the space that is now Ross was a Target, and there was a side, enclosed entrance to Marshall's. Think: weird 70s strip center mall that quickly fell into a life of disrepute and abandonment. The store has changed; the strip center has changed. Thank goodness. I am a sucker for Marshall's Home Goods stores. They're the best places to find just about anything you would at a department store, save the electronics. Granted, you do have to search, but it's more than likely going to be there...perhaps. If it isn't, there's always next week's shipment. I've found really cute, decent quality: bath mats, bedding, stockings, sweaters, skirts, exercise clothes, vases, dinnerware, pillows, frames, and hand soap at this location. Perfect gifts...usually for myself. The floor of this store is a bit scummy. Not on par with Ross, but it's a bit gross in spaces. Also, it's a bit more claustrophobic compared to the location on West Grey, but I think that has to do with the height of the ceiling. West Grey was once a movie theatre, this one was always a Marshall's. Something to note about this location, the area surrounding is a bit dodgy, but there's a "nice new layer of paint," as they say, so it seems and feels relatively safe. read more

I have been visiting this location for numerous years. From time to time, I got what I was looking for. Their selections on all sort of stuff (clothing, shoes, etc) are pretty descent. Nevertheless, their customer service sucked. Not saying they were rude, but they didn't honor what they put on their website. I was very freaked out by it. Just yesterday, I took back some items for return without receipt and they told me to get lost. In the past, I had no issues with it. But I guess things have changed. I don't think they care about customer's satisfaction. Money is more important than anything in their book. According to their return policy on the website, if anything (unworn with tags on) that was purchased over 30 days, you could return them for store credit. Well, the staff scanned all my items and said that they weren't in the system anymore and that was the reason they couldn't accept any. Here is the interesting part: 2 of the items were purchased at this location. 2 of them were at River Oaks. She suggested me to return them to the same location. But then when I asked I thought all the stores are on the same system, and she said no. She didn't say how long ago was the purchase and that was why they couldn't be returned. No proof nothing. All BS talking. If you don't want to honor them, for whatever sake, DON'T FREAKING PUT THE POLICY ON YOUR STUPID WEBSITE. Okay???? I just made the complaint on Facebook and the customer service told me to call them up. I planned to visit the store again today will confront the manager about this matter. The whole thing wasn't right. FYI, here is the return policy on their website (www.marshallsonline.com): Returns Our customers continue to be our top priority. If you're not satisfied with your purchase, return the merchandise accompanied by a register receipt within 30 days of purchase, for an exchange or refund. When I first moved to the area I went driving down the Katy Freeway to see what was around and spotted this Marshalls. I had never really been a huge fan of these type of discount stores, they always seemed to be dirty and it would take forever to find anything good clothing related without spending a good amount of time searching through endless racks of trashy clothes until you found a real gem. But this Marshalls blew me away. They have an awesome selection of clothing and shoes. I picked up four pairs of dress pants from The Limited for less than seventeen dollars each. Who doesn't enjoy coming to this place, it has something for everyone! Cute clothes, nice shoes, good beauty section, and awesome home goods area, but best of all is there clearance area in the back corner. You can find some great stuff there! The only reason why I don't give this place a 5/5 is because there checkout lines can be long and some of their home goods items are really overpriced. Marshalls: Where everything I want to buy is 1/2 the price compared to other stores. You'd think that with the cheaper prices, I don't spend too much money here... well, you are wrong. It's easy to find beautiful things for your home, a new cute outfit for work, and designer luggage when you came by just for some thank-you cards. Each locations carries a unique variety of clothing and goods, so if you find something you like at one store, buy it quick! It might not be available at another location, even in the same city. Shopping on the weekends can get a bit crazy, and be prepared to wait in line to check-out. While the employees are generally good, the sheer volume of stuff people buy makes the line move slowly. Don't worry, though- there are all sorts of trinkets to look at and buy while you wind your way through the line. read more

This Marshall's was actually really fun to go to. It was clean and there were lots of options. There's a home goods inside it as well and there were a few pieces of furniture that I would've actually bought if I had space for it. The bf was looking for short- sleeved button down shirts, and he happily walked away with 2 shirts (even though I wanted him to get this other shirt, but it was "too hipster"... whatever). There was surprisingly a lot of options in the men's section, and I didn't dare go to the women's clothing section... we would've been there for hours. The dressing room staff was nice. The men only have 2 dressing rooms though, but we didn't have to wait too terribly long for one to open up. The shoe and bag section is pretty big... again I did not dare go over there. I did glance over and saw some Kate Spade and Michael Kors bags, just fyi. Overall, I've changed my perspective of Marshall's after coming here, selection- wise. There are a tona of little treasures to find at this location. Great for their selection of home goods. The clothing section could use some work, but there is a TJ Maxx very close by. I bought a ton of things for the house (bowls, plates, decor, rugs and other little things). My only issue is that sometimes the store can be a little messy and you will happen to see some shady characters there. read more

Love hunting around this store for unusual home goods. Bathroom products have been great quality and value. Nice doggie section with cute pet beds. Art section is always worth a look through. I'm torn with a review for this store because on one hand, they have a lot of stuff to choose from, but on the other, the store can use some better organization. It is impossible to take a quick trip to this store, even if you are on a mission to shop for something specific. I appreciate the fact that they have a pretty sizeable Home Goods department with color coded shelves to help your browsing. The downfall though, is that some of the shelves are in complete disarray. Sometimes it is also difficult to find employees working the floor for assistance. The cashier line is always long, and it seems there are never enough cashiers at the checkout counters to remedy this. 3 stars for having great inventory, 2 stars taken away for register lines and no floor associates. read more

On 3/18 I purchased a king sized comforter set. Both pillow cases were missing. I made the purchase on my debit card and did not think there would be an issue taking it back the next day. When. I arrived at the store your associates accused me of stealing the shams and refused to return my item. I have never experienced anything as demeaning and humiliating in my life. Your coordinator LIDIETH then chastised me and told me " next time I guess you'll keep your receipt". I have spent tens of thousands of dollars with your company and there's no reason why I should've been treated this way. . This was a recorded transaction made on my debit card just one day earlier. There's no legitimate reason why it shouldn't have been refunded or credited. I am demanding that this issue gets rectified immediately. Spending over 100 on a comforter set that has no pillow cases is ridiculous . And having employees who rather embarrass your customers than find viable solutions and problem solve is unacceptable. I hope that this is resolved quickly and I hope that this is used as an opportunity to train your clearly incompetent employees on how to give satisfactory customer service. read more

100% the worst Marshall's trip I've had in about 30 yrs of shopping these stores! The store is already dirty and a mess but the mgr of the store sings ridiculous Christmas songs every time one of his staff sells a credit card, this was done 3 times while I was in the store for only an hour. It's loud and quite annoying but I was not mad about it until I get to the check out and he sings again and I went to the cashier and jokingly said I thought I was going to get out without hearing another one. The mgr walks by and makes a snide comment saying I'm sorry to have bothered you and goes on to say it's motivation for his staff without being the least bit worried about the customer. I told him I was joking, I never even finished what I was going to say to the cashier to start with so he had no clue where I was going with it to begin with and then the comments from him back and forth with a nasty sarcastic look on his face....REALLY!! He made a scene, I said he was acting like an ahole, did not say the whole word but I suddenly became the bad guy all over again because I said that. No accountability on is part, denied that he was rude when the cashier was giving me the what the hell look. Done with that store for good and will be calling corporate. My coworker's purse was stolen right off the counter when her back was turned and the manager, Rich K. REFUSED to help at ALL. He was also rude and extremely disrespectful to myself and my 75 year old coworker who's purse was stolen. He told us that he had to call his boss in order to access the cameras and then when we asked him to call, he said no. This is my go-to Marshalls. I love it, and I don't even live close to the area. I always find my mom and me coming back here because we find items easily in the store. The organization does become messy,so you need to set out some time to shop here and dig. But hey,good things don't come easy. The shoes don't really fit my style, but I was really amazed when I found a pair of Birkenstock sandals here. I saved a hefty 50% from the retail price---win! My absolute favorite department is the Home Goods section. Every time I walk to that end, the choir is singing behind me. I don't want to leave; I want to buy this condiment,that pan,this cup,etc. Unfortunately, I must refrain,but I'm so glad it doesn't hurt to browse :) read more
