The cashiers' attitudes are the worst. They again you the receipt and don't say anything. When you say "thank you" they don't say anything. When you get to the cashier they don't speak. One of my favorite Marshall's in the city, however the lines are always extremely long. I usually go on a Monday so I can actually shop & have a nice experience. The service is good , they just need more help. So if you do go , go on a Monday or Tuesday . I love their candles they are affordable & of good quality. Might be the time of day but on a Monday evening, this Home Goods spot looked like the San Francisco war zone in some aisles with items strewn everywhere, weird odors wafting through the air, and a general disarray that made TJ Maxx next door look like a studious child with OCD. We were hoping to find some kitchen goods here but nearly all of the items looked extremely cheap and not well made compared to Amazon options online. The Home Goods side is usually far superior the shopping journey compared to Marshalls, but here it's generally a wash due to how disappointing the home decor side was. Huge floor space for this combined Marshalls/Homegoods. We found and bought a new wardrobe for our nephew, and it cost a fraction of what it would have been if shopping at a department store. Because it is a HomeGoods, it has a decent amount of furniture and house furnishings (full size rugs). They had the nicest selection of discounted luggage that I've seen at Marshalls'. Because it is so big, it never felt too crowded until you got into the line to checkout. It uses one long queue, with an announcement when a register is open. This place has great stuff, but has always been super busy whenever I am there, regardless if it is a weekend or late night on the weekend. Therefore, you have to plan for some extra time waiting in line. Since it is always crowded, it is hard to maneuver and things can be in a disarray, which is to be expected with so many patrons. The latest time I was here, the check out lady forgot to put all of my things in my bag that I paid for, so I am out some money unfortunately. She seemed very stressed and busy, which only can be expected with such long lines of customers and constant work checking out. I am not sure how they would adjust their business, especially if they are understaffed, but hopefully they can get some more employees to help with organizing and manning the cash registers. read more

There's usually a couple of good deals in here and I like it better than most Marshalls in the area. We come here often because it's very close to home. This is a Marshalls store with a lot of extra home stuff in the Homegoods section - they're really one big store. They have nice shoes and clothes at good prices. They also have lots of pet items, like cat trees and doggy beds. If you have some time, you can browse here and find nice stuff. I was confused at first because it is actually really a Marshall's store but if they want to call it Homegoods, that's fine. I love Home Goods This location is on Gray St and Waugh. It's in the same shopping center with TJ Maxx. For me it's absolutely perfect. You can use your gift cards at both places. Okay so Marshall's Home Goods has the best things for you Home. And the clothing is cool too. The key is to not necessarily be looking for anything in particular, but looking to spend money. Their shoe department is well kept and organized. They no longer have layaway, so definitely be prepared to spend the money that day. As far as the line goes. Just be prepared for it to be long. I only had a $7.99 black planner in my hand that I was going to purchase to keep me organized because I am a teacher $4,000 per month, and I work at a university $5,000 per month, and I am a small business owner $2,000-3,000 per month and in school getting a Ph. D. I am also a multi-published author. Pristine crimminal record, etc. I also wanted to purchase a rocking chair because I like to sit and rock while I pray and I recently visited Star Furniture and tested out all of their rocking chairs without finding a comfortable one to match my body. To my surprise, they had a super quiet and comfortable one upon entry into the store. Nevertheless, it was uncomfortable being stalked by minimum wage earners as someone who possesses two bachelors degrees, two masters degrees and a doctorate in progress. All in all it's a great way to spend a few hours. As of fall of '22 there has been a huge uptick in available mid-century furniture. That's a huge upgrade if you ask me. The store is like any other but I'd still say it looks like majority of the items in here have hidden damage which deterred me from buying 3 pieces today. We drove almost 40 minutes to this location to purchase a rug that my sister told me I would like when she came to visit. When I got there they said it was $300 until we were checking out and they insisted to ask us for $1,000. That's a huge difference. I thought that was absurd and told them that's a huge difference so then they told me I have to wait till tomorrow for the manager to be available to tell me wether it's $1,000 or $300. I waited till the next day and another 40 minute drive for them to tell me it was their fault that someone put the wrong price on it and it was actually $1,000 not $300. The employees were not too friendly but once you ask for help they are helpful. There didn't seem to be many of them either. The store is super clean. One downside is they left a lot of their carts in the parking lot so many people were having to go hunt one down. I sometimes snag my cooking oils (sesame, evoo, avocado oil, and grape seed) from here for so much cheaper than in the grocery story and quality is never compromised. I then always peruse the horn section...pillows, furniture, rugs, throws, etc. I never forget the stationary aisle!!! I always have to look through journals, planners, and notepads! I then move to the pet aisle then the shoe department. I round the store by going through the clothing first regular then the active wear section! This particular location has so much stuff. I've been to many Home Goods and this one by far seemed to have the best and most inventory. they have so much great holiday stuff right now. The staff were all really nice. We had a few baskets of stuff and a couple of large items and Yolanda (our cashier) was so patient and so nice. She wrapped everything so carefully and did an awesome job. If you love Marshall's Home Goods I definitely recommend a visit to this particular location. The only two negatives: Due to the large volume getting down some of the aisles was a major challenge. I would suggest a runner or two walking around picking things up out of the aisles and putting it back on the shelf for safety and so as to not damage products. The automatic doors need to be adjusted and sense humans near or in between them as they slam shut even if you are standing there. One hit my friend right in the wrist slamming shut and someone could get seriously hurt. Definitely needs adjusting or better technology. read more

Do not leave your bag unattended in this store, not for a second. I had my purse in the basket when I took about 10 steps away from it to grab a candle, and when I turned around to place the candle in there, there was another basket sitting in its place with someone else's items. People can easily swap baskets by accident, so I just walked all the isles several times over looking for my basket and didn't find it. When there was nothing left for me to do on my own, I approached the store staff and let them know and asked what is the policy, how can they help. They had no policy and no idea or desire to help at all! So I asked for specific help, in the following sequence, and the responses I received are listed next to them. 1. I first ask for one more person to walk around with me to see the basket, none of the staff members agreed to do this except for one gentleman. His search also yielded no result. 2. Since we were not able to locate the basket, I asked if they could make an announcement to the store to see if any customer by accident took my basket. They said that's not something they would do. 3. I asked one of the staff members at the entrance if she can watch the door in case someone is walking out with a red handbag while I go to the ladies room to check and she said Sure. When I returned, she was away from the door, chatting and did not watch the door at all. 4. I asked if they can call the police since I don't have my phone, which is missing together with the purse. The manager, who was called to come talk to me after about 15 minutes of back and forth, said I needed to call the police on my own because they would only call if their merchandise was stolen. Since it is my bag and not theirs, they could not call the police for me. So, I asked the cashier who controlled the phone if I could use it to call the police, and she said she will let me use it after she is done checking out the people in line. All she needed to do was hand me the phone, would have taken 1-2 seconds. After minutes, I asked another customer to use her cellphone and called my husband first, to come get me from the store since I no longer had my car keys. The store never called the police. 5. I asked if they can check the security cameras to see who took the basket, and they said they can't do that at this time but they would submit a request. Just as I waited for my husband, a gentleman found the basket abandoned in the opposite end of the store (it was taken on the leftmost side near the front, and it was found on the rightmost side near the back). I was so relieved. I asked which gentleman brought it to thank him but they didn't say. In the end, it may have been an innocent mistake by another customer but instead of bringing the basket back, they abandoned it with my purse in a remote corner that would have been hard to locate. Summary: I had good reason to believe my purse was stolen, after I exhausted all possibilities and the store: -didn't offer the least bit of to help me, -didn't let me use their phone or call the police for me, TLDR: Make sure you keep your personal belongings very close and do not ever lose your purse because you will be denied the most basic assistance. Ugh. This place is horrible. Been several times and each time it is the same. While there are cool and unique home decor items that HomeGoods is known for, the checkout process normally takes at least an hour on a good day. After spending hours in the store, I have had to leave my full cart of furniture and home decor items due to there being 60-70 people waiting in line. Only once have I been willing to wait in line for an hour to checkout. I have seen the lines get past an hour. But the store is never overly crowded with shoppers. It is the checkout process that is ridiculous. Do yourself a favor and do not go here. It is a total waste of time. read more

Warning, Marshall's can be addictive! I am surprised by how the stock turns around so quickly. If you see something that you like and there is only one or two left, you better buy it, or it will be gone. It seems like the line is long, but there seems to be many registers open every time I go there and the line moves quickly. It is fair how everybody gets into one line and then the first up in line goes to whatever register that is open. No more waiting on some slow person who writes a check or can't find the credit card that works. I walked in that fateful day expecting to be in and out in 10 min, workout clothes in hand...I was pleasantly surprised when I walked out over an hour later with random bathroom furnishings, dog toys, kitchen appliances, and 2 outfits. All at reasonable prices!!! This store has everything you're looking for, even when you don't plan on buying anything. They have a wide selection of kitchen and dining supplies...anywhere from pots and pans to martini shakers and table runners. Need a new rug..they have it. Need some new furniture...they got it. Need some decor to spice up your place...they have lamps, paintings, picture frames, vases, fake flowers, pretty storage supplies, clocks, book ends...if you can think of something you need, they will have it. They put new stuff out weekly so always check back if you can't find what you need at the time. As for their clothing section, they have racks and racks of clothes from different designers to choose from. Most of the racks are sorted by types of clothing such as long sleeved tops, tank tops, pants, dresses, etc all organized by size. The clothing section is a random hit or miss for me. I usually don't have the patience to weed through racks of random clothes so I rarely come to this part of the store. Lines here are usually long. The weekends are the worst time to come. It's always crowded and wait time in line is about 15 minutes or so. The parking lot is huge but always packed. To get straight to the point...the customer service at this establishment is piss poor at best. We were told by another Home Goods that this location closes at 10:00. So, we drove from Richmond to look for a London Fog carry on luggage that might be at this establishment. We were immediately stopped at the door by a Paul-Blart Mall Cop looking gentleman and told that "they were closed" and that they had done so at 9:30. Then the Paul Blart-Mall Cop "standing guard" at the door proceeded to shoo us away while repeatedly stating that they were closed. Okay Cujo...I understand that if you're closed, then you're closed, no fuss. But while we were asking clarifying questions, such as what are their business hours and if they even had the London Fog brand in store, the gentleman interrupted each question with a "yeah, we're closed" and a wave of the hand towards the door. You sir, belong behind the scenes away from customers. How dare you treat paying customers with such blatant disrespect. All he had to do was attempt to ask an associate about the luggage and we would have gladly returned the next day. MOST customers don't expect you do bend over backwards...most just appreciate the small things that let us know you care. Thanks to Paul Blart we WILL NOT be visiting this establishment. Marshals/HomeGoods it will serve your establishment well to retrain your associates in customer service. Add the fact that they let me bring my dog AND it's right next to Romano's...well, it's one of my favorite places to shop. Everytime I've been to this location it's pretty crowded, unless it's a weekday night. Staff has always been friendly. Parking isn't usually an issue since it's in a shopping center.
