I stopped in to grab some quick breakfast and lunch items (beats spending $20 on a single meal); all of the inventory was clean and well-organized. Shopping in the early morning (8ish am) is a much different experience than in the evening, for sure -- parking was easy to find and I was warmly greeted by the staff on duty. In this economy, I can appreciate Walmart's Great Value prices and markdowns and grab n' go lunch items like Taylor Farm salads and whatnot. read more

Customer service is deplorable, the manager is rude to customers and lazy and unhelpful she sets behind the customer service counter or she rides on the electric carts for the customers. This store is in a prime location and deserves better managerial representation. The way she presents herself and her attitude is just not a good representation for an upcoming Walmart. read more

Look, I know what I'm getting into when I go to Walmart on Yale, and yet, like some kind of retail masochist, I keep coming back. Why? Because they have the stuff I need at prices that don't make me cry. Do I hate every second of it? Absolutely. The employees? They don't know, they don't care, and they certainly aren't going to pretend otherwise. Asking a question is just setting yourself up for disappointment. But hey, at least they check receipts at the door, which weirdly doesn't bother me at all. I'm not stealing anything, so knock yourself out. Frankly, I prefer it to the free-for-all at HEB, where people just casually walk out with unpaid carts like it's some kind of "Take What You Need" community market. My real complaints: 1. Makeup is locked up like it's the crown jewels. I refuse to play the waiting game just to buy mascara, so I've given up. 2. Curbside is a test of patience. Yesterday, I waited 25 minutes. At that rate, I should've just gone in, suffered through the store, and picked my own cat food. 3. The cakes are awful. Don't do it to yourself. When you get home, the frosting will literally just fall off! 4. The wine selection is depressing. But that's on me for expecting better from Walmart. All that said, they've got cheap toilet paper, coffee, eggs, and surprisingly decent green grapes. It's never a good time, but it gets the job done. See you next week, Walmart. I hate you. read more

Picked up 4 bags of Ricola Lemon mint cough drops from Walmart super store on Yale Street in Houston Heights Tx! Please check your bags of cough drops and make sure your not subjected to some shit they threw together in these bags. I found out the hard way and didn't realize there were two different versions of cough drops. One is weird looking and couldn't even put it in my mouth to even taste it! The other is smooth like the classic cough drop you are used to! Please check your Ricola Lemon mint cough drop bag from Walmart since they are suspect! read more

Worst Walmart I've ever been in. Ever! 0 stars. I would never recommend. Staff is incompetent and rude.

I had not visited this Walmart in a couple years and was pleasantly surprised. The store was very clean and everything I looked at was perfectly stocked. Shelves were organized and everything pushed up. Plenty of workers around (not that any of them acknowledged me but they were around). read more

I was Wal Mart on Yale today and had to go the the "money services dept." What a pleasant experience. The racks of debit cards and gift cards was nicely organized and appealing. The employee who completed my transaction was professional. He was neatly dressed and had a calm demeanor. Very patient with my request. read more

I would be careful about getting cell service here. I went there today after coming the day to see about getting a Straight Talk plan and phone. An employee told me that the people who handle that are there from noon to 3 or 4 PM everyday. I showed up and a shit show ensued. I go up to the counter and mind you, there's promotional material for all the major service carriers, as well as Straight Talk, at the counter and in the immediate area. I ask one rep about the current holiday promo that Straight Talk is running with a qualifying plan. He offers me an AT&T special, which I turned down since I just left them due to their horrible billing. I talk to the other rep and she claimed not to know about it or even about Straight Talk period. She starts talking about Verizon. I had to explain to her that Cricket is under AT&T, Metro is under T-Mobile, and Straight Talk is under Verizon despite her being a damn employee and with signs literally in their faces! Sensing bullshit afoot, I walked away and ran into the same employee that told me the hours yesterday and asked her if the reps were here and she pointed to the people I spoke to already. While we were talking, I noticing them looking over. They're either poorly trained, stupid, or shady. read more

this walmart is very busy. but it is larger and has a vast selection on average. electronics employee was nice.

Often has empty shelves. Staff can never be found. Checkout monitors are surly and borderline rude

This store is racist. I have had black women staff be rude to me no less than 15 times. I am polite, considerate and unproblematic when I'm there. There is zero explanation on why they are rude to me other than that. I will not return or spend money there again. read more

Not to be confused with the Walmart Pardon Center which is where they officially pardon (or execute) Walmart shoplifters. We came to the Garden Center looking for all kinds of industrial strength pesticides to kill some of the things that are on the grounds around the house where we lived. It didn't work out too well because the person working here wasn't able to really help or guide us, and most of what they have here are not the safe poisons but the really scary poisons or the ones that don't work at all. So we were not too impressed by the garden center but we're still glad that they have one. read more

I came to Walmart with a very specific mission - tree decorations. I must say, there were plenty of looks to choose from. In the end, I made my choice with red plaid look. There was enough supplies of what I need that I didn't have to go elsewhere. While this location is often busy, I found my experience quite pleasant and my check out was a quick one. As we get closer to the holidays, patience is a must. Kindness goes a long way. This location and the one off of Voss are my go to Walmart. read more

Walmart Supercenter - This year calls for new decorations! - Department Stores Near Me - Houston, Texas

We came here the Sunday before Thanksgiving to pick up a few ingredients and the place was already a disaster - is Black Friday starting earlier these days or what. The aisles were in disarray, people everywhere, workers were short-tempered and rude (although, I honestly don't think I can blame them given the state of the store). Like most Walmarts, they have a huge selection, but it was a pretty unpleasant shopping experience overall that I will try to avoid in the future. read more

I have never been treated so poorly while trying to spend a significant amount of money at store before in my life. No one was capable of completing my purchase or offering an explanation as to why. I feel as though the employees there were discriminating against me (although I have no idea why). I have filed a complaint with Walmart, but I advise shopping smaller local stores or Target/Amazon if you are unable to find the items you need locally. As a past employee of Walmart years ago, I am very disappointed with how I was treated and hope that no other customers experience the same. *edit - another person who looks differently than I do was able to complete the EXACT purchase I attempted with the same credit card so clearly this was not a store policy issue. read more

I found Walmart's plants are healthy, but if there are any issues, they will accept returns with literally no issues. Yes, people hate on the big box store, but their prices are low, and they keep the competition low as well. A win-win for consumers. I had been getting my prescription here for about 8 months and every month it was something, they always had some issue or I would be told one thing by one person and something incredibly different by another, the pharmacist cancelled my prescription because she didn't want to fill it one month thankfully the other pharmacist didn't have as much of a stick up his ass and filled it, if the female pharmacist is working just hang up and wait for the male pharmacist to be on duty. I promise it'll be easier but still I just recommend you find another pharmacy like I did! I switched to a locally owned pharmacy because why put more money in Walmarts pockets when they are going to treat me like absolute crap or a criminal for needing medication. Not to mention this Walmart is GIANT and they have one of the smallest pharmacies I've ever seen in a Walmart. I give up on chain pharmacies! Shop Local!!!! read more

This is one of those astonishingly clean walmarts that make you wonder, could all walmarts be this neat and organized. The parking lots are not a hot mess of carts rolling around like Miley Cyrus in Wrecking Ball. But this is not because the place is efficient but it's because they never have anything that I want. Last year I drove here to find some gardening tools and they said that people have been buying those since Harvey and they can't keep up with the demand. Like dude, you're literally walmart, you guys have insane fights over your POs just to keep your supplies afloat. Once again last night I came here to buy some zip ties and they only had the transparent ones and all the other ones (primarily was looking for the black ones) were out of stock. But when you look for them online, it shows that they carry them. Tsk tsk. May be try and use a perpetual inventory system and actually utilize an EAM (enterprise asset management) and a POS (Point-of-Sale) rather than a perpetually broken system and being a POS (the urban dictionary one). read more

This place refuses to restock the soap in the men's restroom. After using the restroom I noticed that there was no soap. I went and asked a employee and I got an eye roll. I went to another employee and got the same thing. Also, while I was in the restroom there was an employee there. I guess I should assume he didn't wash his hands before returning to work. I usually wouldn't give a one star review but considering this has to do with the store's cleanliness it deserves nothing more. Disgusting place. read more

Very few good experiences ... last I was suspected of switching clearance label because the price was too "low" ... never mind that the scanned name matched ... and the item# was also a complete match ... the cashier would mumble accusations & when the assistant manager agreed with the cashier, I about lost it ... I told him to read it out-loud. That's when he finally looked at the item# and saw it was indeed the correct price ... cashier was all huffs & puffs but nothing else ... no apology from either one .., as if they did me a favor ... as he scanned my items the cashier remained quiet as I mumbled back everything he said I was trying to get away with... It's terrible how a few people ruin it for the whole bunch. My experience at this Walmart has always been an unpleasant one. However, there was this ONE woman... who was not terrible. It is a rare occurrence when I go to a Walmart and find someone who actually SERVES the customer. But I will not blame the employees, as they are merely a product of the machine. The buck stops with management. My expectations are reasonable. Like most other Walmart stores, this one is hot garbage. The level of ineptitude in this location is off the chain, though. Like most other American households, in 2021, we regularly receive grocery deliveries from Amazon, Target, and other grocers. We rarely shop at Walmart other than to purchase a particular drain clog remover that we can't seem to find easily at other stores. So, I went online, last night, and placed a delivery order with Walmart for the first time ever. I ended up order more than just drain cleaner and our order came out to almost $150.00. This afternoon, I received a text advising my order was on the way and that the delivery driver was roughly 3 minutes away. I went downstairs to await the driver's arrival. No one ever showed up. No one ever called. A few minutes later, I received a message stating that my items had been delivered and it even included a picture claiming my items had been placed on the street. I went to the street and found absolutely nothing. This order was not delivered. I immediately proceeded to call Walmart, repeatedly, and no one would pick up. So, I got into my car and drove to the store to speak with someone in an effort to rectify the problem. When I first entered the store, I explained my problem to a nearby associate, Mrs. Cherry, and asked where to go for help. She proceeded to radio two or three people, in the pickup and delivery department, who all wanted nothing to do with the problem. Next, I'm passed off to another associate who is allegedly going to help. He listens to the issue and, in summary, says I need to call Walmart's customer service number and tell them what happened. While I'm talking to this guy, Steven (who I'm told is one of the managers over deliveries) comes out and sees me standing there yet goes out of his way to avoid talking to me. Extremely frustrated at this point, I head to the front of the store and am on my way out when Mrs. Cherry says Steven is heading up front to talk to me. When Steven comes up front he gives me the same sad story of how I need to call customer service and how he's just so frustrated with the driver. NOT ONCE did Steven offer to rectify the problem. I don't think I've ever dealt with anyone as intellectually stunted as Steven. He has zero business working with customers. So, listen up Walmart!! When you're scratching your rear wondering why Amazon is smoking you and slowly putting this country out of the misery that is Walmart, THIS IS WHY! read more

This has to be the absolute best Walmart ever! This one is super clean, not crowded with weird Walmart people, not messy at all, and definitely not ghetto. We went to this particular location twice. This is the Wal-Mart that nobody wanted in The Heights. I honestly avoided it for as long as it's been opened... until recently. I was on a time crunch and knew Target would be a lot more busy. Since then, I've gone to this Wal-Mart for their one-hour photo (I know, who still prints photos?!) and their garden center. Gotta admit, this is probably the cleanest Wal-Mart in Houston, and the least scary one I've ever been to. I think every other Wal-Mart parking lot is potentially a scene from "Taken." read more

Heavy set lady checking receipts locked eyes with me rubbing her hands together like she was ready to fight me. Stop making your customers check out their own stuff and then treating them like criminals at the door. By the way, you are in no way obliged to show them any receipt on your way out.
