I generally avoid department stores, but my wife needed a dress and prefers to try them before she buys, so off to the mall we went. After a couple of other stops, we finished at Macy's because we knew that if no one else had what we were looking for, we'd find it there. We probably should have saved time and just started at Macy's. The team was extremely helpful, routing us to the right places and sizes, making recommendations, helping me find sale items, etc. Hoda was particularly helpful, helping my wife find appropriate sizes when the ones she picked didn't work (women's sizes are crazy, a number should be the same across all items) and getting us checked out in a timely manner. We came for one item and, thanks to a couple of sales, left with three. I probably won't have much use for the women's dress section again, but I'll be coming back to Macy's specifically because of the service we received. read more

The receipt showed a regular price of $64.00, marked down to a final purchase price of $9.46. I was thrilled with my find and couldn't wait to wear it. However, when I got home and removed the tags, I decided to look underneath the clearance stickers. To my surprise, the original manufacturer's price tag showed the sweatshirt was actually priced at $60.00, not the $64.00 regular price reflected on the receipt and sale tags. As a customer, I found this very concerning. It's not about the $4 difference. It's about transparency and honesty. Seeing a higher "regular price" advertised than what appears to have originally been on the item's tag raises questions about how discounts are being presented to customers. I understand prices can change over time, and retailers may have different pricing structures. However, from a consumer's perspective, it feels misleading when the advertised original price used to calculate a discount is higher than the price shown on the product's original tag. Because of this, I have already contacted Macy's Corporate Customer Service and provided photographs of both the receipt and the item's barcode tag for review. I feel completely misled by my experience at Macy's. During my visit on Mother's Day, a sales associate encouraged me to open a Macy's credit card and clearly stated that all purchases made that day would receive 30% off. Based on that promise, I applied for the card and completed my purchases. At checkout, I noticed the discount was not reflected on my receipt. When I asked about it, the associate assured me that the discount would appear on my statement later. I was not shown any terms, conditions, exclusions, or limitations. In fact, I was simply given a temporary credit card number and told to use it for my purchases to receive the discount. When my statement arrived, the promised 30% discount was nowhere to be found. Had the actual terms been explained clearly, I would have made a different decision. Customers should not be persuaded to open credit cards based on promises that are inaccurate or incomplete. (Wrong move) My daughter told me that the only reason why she "looked" at that lady was because she was thinking is she having problems with Macy's like we are. This review is for the Women's Plus size apparel. I went in looking for a Calvin Klein business suit and I was told there was plus size clothing scattered all over women's section. I asked where was Plus size area and was told the same scattered all over 2nd floor. I was very disappointed. I started walking down women's clothes in the 2nd floor and finally saw the sign where plus size clothing was located. I found the Calvin Klein suit pieces I was looking for but the area was very sloppy so it was difficult looking for what I needed. Furthermore, their inventory was pretty low for a plain classic suit. I went ahead and took a look through the section and was just plain dissatisfied with the variety of plus size apparel available. The following day I went to Dillard's in the Galleria and wow! What a difference! I asked where I could find plus size apparel and was immediately directed to 3rd floor. Then I asked for suit section and was shown what was available. The store didn't have a lot classic suits in stock there but they told me they could order for me or see if other stores had items. The clerk was super helpful and understood exactly that I needed a dark suit versus the light suits they had available there. I was also directed to the dress section, which had very nice conservative Calvin Klein dresses and the clerk was super helpful giving me her opinion when asked. Unlike Macy's. The ladies were all sweethearts & gave us lots of tips. The first event was 'scan for a grand' we didn't win a grand, but won a $100..along with extra coupons! Macy will be mailing 25% off coupons to our mothers. The second event was 'sip & scan' there were light o'rderves & fruit punch. They gave out door entry prizes & goodie bags. I found a lot of things I would like to buy that was on sale. Too bad they don't honor the prices on the registry ! The one thing we did not like was majority of the items had the Macy's 'return label' After seeing so many returned labels, I felt that ppl just scan things to build up store credit with Macy. Awhile I asked for help at the cologne counter, another customer came and the associate simply without excusing herself, just left to assist the customer that came after me. Horrible customer service! I left the department without even checking if I got the right bottles of cologne. My friends and I went into the mall and decided to stop by Macy's to see if they have some other perfumes that Sephora didn't carry. The main perfume counter with different brands had a sweet lady who talked me through some different scents. Same with employee at the Clinique and cheaper makeup section. I purchased a mattress from Macy's in February 2022. The entire side of the mattress is now collapsed with springs sticking out of the mattress. They sent an inspector who told me the mattress is definitely faulty, but Macy's is not providing a replacement or doing anything about it because the tag was removed from the mattress. Impressive Store - I haven't had much luck with the Macy's locations in my home state of Florida but I have to say this mammoth Memorial City Mall location blew me away. I am planning a trip across the pond next week and didn't have much luck finding what I was looking for at my local Macy's but that wasn't a problem here my only concern is did I bring a big enough suit case. This is a pretty nice shopping mall as shopping malls go, although this is not the type of place I like to spend my money in this was a pretty nice mall complete with its on indoor ice rink. The men's department is located on the second floor, the women's downstairs. The selection here was nothing short of amazing and the prices well you can't expect to have everything I guess, although as you'd expect at Macy's there were little red sales tags everywhere to make you feel a little better when you cash out but it appears the original retail prices are a little jacked up. I stood next to the kiosk waiting for customer service to help. So as I was waiting, Connie (the salesperson) looked up and asked me what did I want? I said hi! I want to return some items. I like Macy's. I like the idea of the coupons and discounts, but checking out to pay always seems to be a hassle. Like there aren't enough cashiers or the lines or long or something. Also, not all of the staff is knowledgeable about where certain brands are and may lead you into the wrong direction. All I know is that if you're looking for an Alfani dress from the website, that Alfani is not mixed in with the other dresses; rather, it has it's own section toward the back of Macy's almost to the mall entrance. The shoe department seems to have order. Look for a sales associate holding a cell phone looking palm pilot situation. When you want to try on shoes, simply have them scan the barcode to check the shoe size availability and they will bring it to you. No longer are the times of standing there waiting for the shoe person to come from the back with loads of boxes of "other styles" in that size. So, good job Macy's: technology is improving our lives! I came here tonight to return some make-up and ended up walking out with more make-up. After returning my unwanted makeup, stopped by the Bobbi Brown counter. I was looking for a nude lipstick and ended up with so much more. CiCi approached me immediately and asked if I needed help. I told her what I was looking for and immediately began to look for my perfect shade of nude. She was very helpful and wonderful at what she does. She matched me with the perfect foundation, powder and blush as well. One can say I fell for it, but we girls know good make-up is hard to pass up. She was focused on me and asked my opinion and face me suggestions on how to apply my makeup and how to coordinate make-up colors. A professional all the way. Poor customer service on several occasions- I have had an issue where the cashier forgets to take off the alarm tag off after I purchased clothing- this has happened to me three times- the last time it has happened, when I was checking out, I had asked the lady who was the cashier to make sure she took off the tag, she proceeded with an attitude that she already took it off. I like this Macy's quite a bit, it's got a very good layout. It is a nice upscale anchor store for this weird Mall. You walk in from the covered parking (nice!) and right away you hit the accessories--namely, purses. It's always fun to look through the latest offerings and see if they have anything on clearance. Shoes, shoes, and more shoes. I pass by and can take a gander at what's out just walking by on my way to the Apple Store, which is cool, but I find Nordstrom has a better selection of sizes. As you walk through, it's the classic department store cosmetic/skin care/beauty alley. It's just a good feeling to browse through all the different products. The saleswomen at this store are helpful but not pushy. There's a fine balance. I tend to go for Lancome and Elizabeth Arden myself. I've just had consistently good results with their entire product line. I might be able to get their products online, but for some things I enjoy the full service experience. Take Lancome, for example. I was using Magnifique before the product placement in Zombieland. I'm annoyed at all the posers who use beauty products simply because they make an appearance in a movie about the upcoming zombie apocalypse. At first I thought it was funny that my fragrance was mentioned by an a$$-kicking zombie-killer, but then I realized that people may be tempted to lump me in with those losers who ran out and bought it after seeing the movie and falling in love with Woody Harrelson's character.
