This is a reasonably nice Macy's store. It's laid out well, it's clean, and the employees are helpful and friendly. If you sign up for a Macy's card, you get a discount on everything in the store for about two days. That's a good opportunity to buy designer handbags and makeup, since they are excluded from most sales and coupons. You'll also receive good coupons in the mail fairly regularly. The one oddity is the sign in the dressing room that states that dressing rooms are being monitored by same gender associates. Are they watching us with cameras, or just walking around the dressing rooms observing? I don't know. It's not clear from their verbiage. Just in case, I gave them a bit of a show, but seriously, the sign is a bit disturbing. They could also renovate and decorate the dressing rooms. They are old and drab, like what you might expect from K-Mart. Despite a couple complaints, this is still one of my favorite stores. While there's room for improvement, it's a great place to shop! read more

Rarely do I award 5 stars, especially when it comes to shopping. But, my experience at the Coach counter in Macy's at Memorial City mall was exceptional. I stopped by during my lunch break to check out the Friends and Family sale. While browsing handbags and searching for wallets, I wandered into the Coach area. The sales associate, Kamini, greeted me with a warm smile and generated lots of friendly energy. I told her I was looking for a specific wallet, which they had, but I ended up not liking. She then introduced me to the Coach rep, Courtney, who provided additional suggestions. Much to my surprise, a red and black snake printed number caught my eye. Wouldn't you know that there was a great handbag close by. Again, the sales associates worked their magic (without being annoying or fake) and showed me a few more options. I ended up getting both an awesome wallet and a new handbag at a great price. Remember, I went in for the Friends and Family sale and ended up saving an extra 25%. Although the store was bustling with customers, I was the only customer in the Coach area at the time. All of their merchandise was neatly displayed and very organized. Little do they know that this really caught my eye. Since there were sales in every department, I appreciated being able to easily browse merchandise that did not look as though a tornado had run through it. As a result of my experience, I did something I've never done before and that is leave feedback about my shopping experience with the Executive Management office. I believe in giving credit where it's due and these ladies surely deserve it. read more

I have 5 pending charges on my C.C. amounting to 6K that I have to wait 10 days now before I can use my card again. They will automatically decline your purchase so they can (get more info from you) then when they say everything is OK and they order the ring again, it gets cancelled again and AGAIN another pending on your card? I was lied to THREE TIMES. I got up to the counter and was asked by the lady "do you want to sign up for our CLUB? You'll get 20% off your purchase." And I looked her in the eyes and asked "The purchase that I'm about to make, RIGHT NOW?" And she answered "yes" so as I was filling out my information I ask the same thing AGAIN, and she says "yes" so I finish adding all the information and she rings me up and I ask "was that the total WITH the 20% discount you told me about" and she said "oh you actually have to wait 24 hours" ???????? I get home and check the customer copy of the "club" receipt and turns out this lady signed me up for a CREDIT CARD. I've tried calling customer service 5 times and every single time I'll wait 10 mins before I get the stupid "please leave your name and issue and we'll call you back". I would give Macy's a zero rating, if possible!! Macy's is the worst store I've ever done business with. I purchased a ring, and they sent it to the wrong address. When I asked them to resend it, they said they could only send it to the address they had already sent it to. I asked for a refund, and they refused to give me my money back. Now, they think that I'm out my $200 plus, but I fully intend to contact my Attorney, the Better Business Bureau, the News Media, and any place else that can help me get my money back. Oh, la la! A Macy's that still knows what customer service is all about! I'm not really too into name brand shopping but this location can deliver if you need them to. All the departments are pretty well stocked and customers seem to leave happy. To be honest though, the only reason why I come here is for the ridiculous heels. I'm talking 4-5 inch heels. The kind you could easily break an ankle in if you know what I'm saying. I've found some fantastic name brand shoes heels that get all sorts of of compliments. Women stop me in parking lots to ask me where I get my heels. I used to be a quantity over quality kind of girl, so many moons ago, I would have probably answered Payless, Target or Dots. More recently, I've learned how important it is to get a quality high heel if you plan on actually walking in them. The customer service at this location makes it too easy to give these people your credit card, and the clearance rack get rotated pretty often with a selection that most certainly is not dated. $130 shoes for $80? Most certainly my good friend! Charge it for me while I look at your other selections! Seriously though... I've spent $400 here in the past month! I'm a huge fan of Macy's at memorial city mall. It has the best selection of all the Macy's I've been in town; galleria, willowbrook and Westoak. The shoes selection is great. I would recommend visiting on Tuesday to Friday. Saturdays are packed. I stay away from juniors and head right over to the rachel roy, barIII and bcbg sections. that's where I find my prized items. DO not visit or make returns close to closing time, because customer service goes from a 5 to 1 real quick. read more

This store could be much better if management re-evaluates and re-trains certain employees regarding customer service, starting from basic courtesy. Ms. D at the Bedding Department gave us a very unpleasant experience, by not only disregarding our concern of Macy's delivering to us a wrong item, but by immediately responding to our polite and patient request for information on how Macy's can correct the mistake, with an aggressive and offensive tone of 'go home and call customer service'. We have been to this store many times, and understand that there are many other courteous staff members with care for the customer. But all it takes is a few of these employees lacking courtesy, and understanding that their job is to service the customer, and that Macy's (and their job) exist because of each and every customer, to cause not only one, but multiple customers to shop elsewhere. And this employee can negatively influence other employees, and the store will potentially continue to lose multiple customers over the years. read more

Great prices but the store seems chaotic to me whenever I visit. While clean, I feel certain departments are very cluttered. Is it really necessary to put ALL of the merchandise on the floor? Guess they don't have large stockrooms. I can do without the crowds, especially on sale days (which is every day...there is always something going on here). I do love the ladies at the cosmetic counter & in the Inc department. Always nice, very helpful & accommodating. I like the Inc brand of clothing, nice fabrics and most work appropriate. This is where H & I registered for our wedding. They spoiled us and was our favorite registry place. They have a very nice selection of housewares, sheets, towels, wineglasses, flatware, silverware, plates, china, etc. Our consultant Betty was top notch & very informative (they keep your registry open a year, just in case). It was very easy returning our gifts even if you are a bit lax in getting back in the store as we were. We roamed around & picked out new things while the return was being processed. The whole transaction was pretty painless! The store itself for everyday shopping gets 3 stars but our wedding registry bumps it up to 4. read more

The employee at the Estee Lauder counter was incredibly rude. My mom and I had to walk up to her just to request an item we wanted to purchase even though there were no other customers, and it seemed like she was purposely ignoring us. Since they were also having a promotion where they were giving several complimentary gifts with qualifying purchases, she repeatedly yelled "no more" to my mom who only asked once for clarification on which complimentary items were sold out. I had never experienced such awful service or disrespect at this particular location or actually at any department store. I will definitely not being returning to this Estee Lauder ever again, and will be going to other ones to make purchases in the future. The visit to the Shiseido area was infinitely better; the employee came up to us immediately just as we briefly paused in front of their display and started introducing several of their products to us for the future since we weren't familiar with their brand. What a screwed up company. I will no longer use my Macy's credit card until they get their website issue fixed. I have always appreciated using my Macy's credit card for purchases and paying the balance within a month or so afterwards. However, Macy's has now gone to using an outside bank to handle their credit cards. The website that it connects to for making my online payments does not work and gives the error messages every time you try to use it. Macy says it will be fixed soon but it has been over three weeks now and it is still not fixed. My credit card will stay idle and Macy's until it is fixed and may soon be just torn up. read more

Very crowded especially on sale days. Parking was horrible on a Saturday. I usually shop online because of the crowds but took a chance. Not a good idea. Employees were standing around talking to each other and not greeting anyone or offering their perfume samples which were in their hands. Every line had about five people in it and it ended up taking about 15 minutes to pay after our cashier messed up my gift cards. She called for help but no one came after 5 minutes. There is too much merchandise, it is very overwhelming and just too crowded. Had a gift card so that's really the only reason I went. read more

I feel like so many workers at this Macy's were so surly, judgemental, and unwelcoming. They were more than one instance where they turned their cheek or put their nose up in the air. i.e. smelling perfume and a lady comes up and literally moves it from away from us; getting a deal on a ring from one lady and coming back later and she refuses same deal. I feel as if the women of this store think they have something over the customers, as if their job at Macy's somehow makes them immaculate and upper class, but instead they come off as boujee and trying so hard to be of the upper echelon. I really want to love this location because Memorial City is just so convenient for me and I do a lot of my other shopping here. However, every single time I come here, I find myself annoyed. I don't know if they are always short-staffed, or if they are just not employing the right people - but this place is always a mess. The ladies dress department and fitting rooms are the biggest mess! Piles and piles of clothes, no matter what time you are in the store. My other frustration is with the jewelry department. If I were to go to any other jewelry store, I would be helped or acknowledged immediately. Not here. I've tried to try on/purchase items from this location on multiple occasions and never been helped. One time I had a clerk help me at the Michael Kors watch area and when I inquired about the other MK bracelets, she pointed to the next jewelry section and told me which cases they were in. When I walked over to the other case, she proceeded to just watch me wait...and wait....and wait. I have had good service at a couple of the make-up counters and in the shoe department, so I won't go below three stars. read more

I typically like coming to this location because it isn't as crazy as trying to get into the Galleria but today was highly disappointing. We had an item that needed exchanged, not returned, but exchanged and had the original receipt. The staff informed us they couldn't exchange it because it was past the 180 threshold for a return. The receipt said we had 1 year from purchase to return the items purchased on 11/12/17 (today is 5/13/18). Finally a manager comes over and offers us 1/2 of what we originally paid. Please tell me again, with a receipt that clearly states 1 year to return an item, how you cannot accommodate. How is it the customers fault that you changed your policy? I agree, policy changes for new purchases or if someone lost their receipt but I mean - come on! Customer service 101. Got ahold of the customer service line, sent them copies of the receipts for proof and they are mailing me the difference on a gift card. I was thankful they were able to take care of us, but it's very disappointing it couldn't be resolved at the store level. Especially over $30. read more

This review is for the furniture department again... I used the same sales person who helped me purchase the Elliot Sectional. This time I was purchasing a dining table that I saw online. I told the sales rep which dining table I wanted and she knew exactly which one I was talking about, so she went into the system to see if they had it in stock. She didn't know who the maker was, so she had a difficult time finding the dining table in the system. She asked her fellow coworker if he knew who the maker was and he told her that the dining table was discontinued and insisted that we won't be able to find it in the system. She didn't believe him and insisted that he was wrong. She kept looking and was determined to get me that dining table... after 10-15mins of searching she was able to find it (with the help of another coworker)!! I was originally going to get a 5 piece set, but was about $100 short of the free delivery requirement, so she told me to get the 7 piece set because i would get 2 extra chairs and be able to get free delivery. I'm glad I listened... the 7 piece fits perfectly in my breakfast area. All-in-All the customer service at the furniture department is excellent and I'm so glad the sales rep didn't give up and was able to find the dining set for me. I would definitely buy more stuff from her... Update 1.25.12: My sales rep did it again!! I emailed her a few days ago saying that the dining table we purchased is $100 cheaper than when we bought it, so I asked if we could get a price adjustment. She sent in my request and notified me that we may not get it, but she'll try her best. I got my confirmation today that we got $107 credit back!! YAY!! she's awesome! read more

Shopping on a Saturday here guarantees you a rubber room at no extra charge, but buy 3 pairs of shoes and save 30%, that tag line and a friend hooked me. 20 minutes of parking roulette and I no longer wanted to meet my friend but made it anyway. Found my size which is difficult to do, Michael Kors, Ralph Lauren and Nine West, are not Italian made slippers but I'm no Cinderella. Rubin was nice to assist with sale, I knew what I wanted and did not try on any shoes but the 3 pair I had selected. Bedlam ensued before my arrival. My bad, did not look in the bag to see if the shoes were mine after plastic had been swiped, I'm wanting out. Having driven 90 miles roundtrip would not be happy to return to this place. Luckily the woman whose shoes I was toting, flagged me down and I was returned to check out hell. An hour later, after the other woman had received her shoes and was on her way I'm still waiting for a manager to credit me and start the entire process over again. This Macy's is great. HOWEVER, the sales ladies in the men's cologne department were SUPER annoying. They would NOT leave us alone. I tried several times to politely tell them we wanted to browse on our own, but that only deterred them for a minute or two before they were back, hounding us. I just wanted to sniff colognes in peace! When we finally chose a cologne the saleslady told us that our only option was a $75 gift package. I pointed out that there were individual bottles of cologne sitting on the shelf and asked how much the smallest one was. She begrudgingly went over, picked one up, scanned it, told us it was $42, but then informed us that of course we would prefer the gift package, containing 2 bottles for $75. That lady seriously wanted us to buy that gift package. She almost started to go ahead and scan it for us, when I said "Wait!" and asked my boyfriend what did he WANT. Because I knew he wanted the small, $42 bottle. That didn't sit well with the saleslady, but luckily we came there to buy cologne, not please Macy's employees. Guh. read more

This review is for Kids Clothing Dept at Macy's Memorial Mall. (Please zoom to see price tag) So apparently this product's original tag was priced at $19.99 and Macy's up-priced it at $35 and put it on sale for $12.13. When I was at the cashier trying to pay for it, the cashier rang up at $35 and I told her it's not the correct price. She said: "It is, and now it's $26.25 because I am giving you 25% off coupon". I repeated to her the price is incorrect, can you please check? At the same time, 2 other males employees came to the cashier (they looked like higher Managment levels) but they didn't even care or even want to make the effort to check out the item, and they told me that's the price. Basically, none of them care. They are incompetent and lazy. So, they tried to sell me an item for $26.25 when the tag was $19.99 and said doing me a "FAVOR" of 25% off. If someone is illiterate but at least they could recognize the numbers weren't match and it didn't make sense. However, this location Macy's employees were FAR BELOW THIS! Also, I would like to say thank you very much for those two higher management males employees who looked like they were working so hard at that time at the cashier for giving me a smile and suggested me that's the correct price that I should be paying. $26.25 when the tag is $19.99. THANK YOU BECAUSE TAKING HALF A SECOND TO CHECK OUT THE TAG IS ALOT OF WORK. I totally understand that. I have shopped at different locations of Macy's. But this location "Macy's of Memorial City Mall" has gone down hill. Overall, customers service is horrible, lack of knowledge, RUDE and worst part is: they are LAZY!! Macy's needs to train their employees at least to make their effort to READ THE PRICE TAG before giving customers the answers. This may be a smaller store compared to others in the city since section is not as great as I thought it would be. The departments are well placed but lacking in organization in clothing selections. It appears every time I visit this location it has random racks in between other clothing brands. Maybe a better design in spacing would help. Overall it is a good store to shop. This store is very clean and surely has a great selection of items from accessories to clothing and furniture. Their sale items may take a bit of time to rummage through, but if you want the deals and steals, you have to do a bit of work to find them. The employees here are very helpful and kind. My grandmother bought me a coach purse during the new years sales so she got a bit of a discount. I wanted to exchange the color, but by the time I made the decision, those special discounts were gone and I realized that if I got a rude associate I might have to pay the difference despite it being the same purse in a different color. Thankfully the woman who assisted me allowed me to make an even exchange with no problem. So I appreciated the service. Another thing I love is scanning sale items and finding things to be cheaper than you expected. It's the greatest feeling ever! This location also has furniture (which not all Macy's do). I also appreciate that the purse sections has many different designers, which I didn't realize was a luxury. When I went to San Antonio, and even the Macy's in downtown, they all had really limited selections of purses. This is a nice store, clean with attractive displays. However, since they opened after COVID19 shutdown, the service is horrible, it is impossible to call and get a competent person to answer, and generally shopping is an unpleasant experience. I bought 4 items, walked out the door and security tags were still attached. Went back to the counter to have tags removed only to get home and be missing one of my items. Called the store several times before I was able to get an employee who then dropped the call rather than transferring me to the department. I drove back to the store, had to find the missing item myself and bring to clerk's attention so that I could have security tag removed and leave for a second time. I will avoid in person shopping at this store after my experience today. With so many businesses struggling to survive, I would expect better not worse customer service. read more

Had to go back to Macy's in Memorial City for my favorite perfume. It's the only place that hasn't sold me a fake knockoff! I couldn't help but notice how wonderful the styles of clothes were on first floor.! They also had beautiful prom dresses everywhere! The clerks were helpful, cheerful, & efficient.
