My husband thought the chip was too thin and made the ratio a little off but I disagree. Also got the original hamburger for $10. Y'all... for $10 this beats gourmet burgers. I finally found something I like so I'm updating my review. The shrimp and cheesy grits are great! It is a very rich and very good plate. If you don't care about calories or fat grams and throw caution to the wind, splurge and have this. The waitress said this and the scallops are the best things on the menu. The fish tacos are good too. Never, never, never get the filet. This is not a steak place. I got it once and it came in two overcooked pieces--not what I expected at all. Had I known it would be two small medallions instead of the filet that I ordered, I would have gotten something else. I have also gotten the chicken stack before. THIS is a good, healthy, solid choice. I've had it when it is fresh and tasty. I've had it when the chicken seemed to have been cooked a little while ago, but it was still acceptable. This was the first time I visited this Marlow's Tavern and I must say I truly enjoyed myself. Like always, the food is scrumptious but no matter how great the food is it's all about customer service for me. When we first entered the building we were greeted with a smile then we made our way to the bar. We were immediately greeted by Sam and Keshia. They were fantastic. They never went a moment without asking if we needed anything or ensuring we were okay. Now about the food... my girlfriend and I had chicken wings, fish tacos, Caesar salad and the Shrimp and Crab Nacho plate. The chicken wings were great but let me tell you. That "House Made" Gorgonzola Dressing was off the chain. Yes I got it all with my finger and cleaned the ramekin. (DON'T JUDGE ME!!!) The fish tacos were great as well but did not come close to that "Home Made" dressing. Now about this Shrimp and Crab Nacho plate. LAWD HAB MERCY! This was my favorite dish of the night. An amazing experience. So unexpected!! I wanted to try Marlow Tavern for a while but they are always jam packed! A few years ago, we drove by but there was a line out the door. I've been wanting to try their veggie burger. Today, we stopped by since we were heading to the mall after a late lunch. We wanted to dine in too. When we walked in, we didn't know if we came through the right entrance but it was the only one. Once a wautress saw us, she took us to a booth. She is so friendly and outgoing. She asked if this was our first time and we said yes. She knows the menu! She cane back with out drinks. After a few minutes, she disappeared. I didn't understand but now I know! We got a complimentary appetizer of kettle chips, welcoming us to Marlow Tavern. So sweet. What a way to say hello! The menu is not huge but enough variety. Hubby ordered Royale with cheese, it's just British way to say cheeseburger hehe. Side is fruits. I ordered veggie burger with fries and side salad. Food is delicious!!! The burgers are huge. I'm very impressed with the yummy salad. The fries were crispy on the outside and moist inside. The veggie burger had sweet sauce but the salted pickle offset it. This will allow you to enjoy the savory taste of a really good burger. The atmosphere is nice, tall back bench seats give your party more privacy & the low lighting adds to the ambience (some folks may not like the dimness). The waitress was nice & mostly attentive, food was delicious, drinks were plenty. The floors were slippery, but not wet slippery. It was like greasy slippery. For example, when I went to the bathroom & stepped up to the plate, my feet started sliding (ever so slowly) apart from one another. If you're going to be in there a bit, you may wanna sit down. Not sure why, but the waitress never refilled my Dr. Pepper. I had to ask. The portions were very generous - just don't fill up on fries b/4 sinking your teeth into that burger. read more

I can see why they don't always get five stars. Have been here for several nights love going to the bar and having drinks. The bartenders have been Anna and Joe. They have been absolutely amazing. Tonight the bartender I believe her name was Kaylee and was all attitude. She didn't know how to make a drink and then blamed me for it. Joe used his phone for more than just taking selfies. The asparagus fries are a must try! I ordered the black and blue burger with asparagus fries (on the recommendation of the waitress,so glad i did) and the jalapeño corn grits on the side after seeing pictures of them that looked so good! My meal was delicious i got the Gorgonzola sauce on the side if my burger in case i didn't like it but it ending up being so rich an creamy i even used it to dip some of my asparagus fries. The grits were also amazing so thick and creamy. Their prices are good too my meal was only about $20. I would highly recommend checking them out i saw they also do brunch so I'll have to try them out for that . read more

Walk in and it's what feels like a normal chain restaurant. Decent bar area. Decent sized seating area. And some hi-tops. Where I met a co-worker and had some dinner. Had some hummus and the firecracker shrimp. Apps were delicious! Their hummus has something spicy in there that made it very memorable. I'd order it again :) Had shrimp and grits for dinner. While it was a good meal I don't like grit cake. I like creamy grits with shrimp on top. This had two grit cakes with some wilted spinach in-between. Wasn't bad. I mean hell I ate it all. Every time I come here I have a less than satisfactory experience, long wait, not so friendly service....I'm giving 3 stars because I do like the food but I wish they would get it together. On this visit we were seated fairly quickly but waited at least 15 mins before our server came to take our drink order. Waited another 45 mins for our appetizer then 5 mins later our food came out cold. I had ordered a burger and I told the server it was cold she was nice enough to get me a fresh one which came out in like 5 mins. But by this time I was already over it and we were headed to the movies after so I couldn't take leftovers and basically just wasted $75 on a meal that I couldn't finish. For starters the restaurant is dark which I personally enjoy lol. For it to be a tavern the drinks were awful. I had a mango flavored margarita and it tasted like bitter water with a drop of lemon juice inside. I barely wanted to drink it but didn't give a hassle if it being sent back. The Appetizer was actually probably one of my favorite things! Yes the menu says nachos but honestly this just looks like a flatbread or thin crust pizza and that's exactly what it tasted like. So apart from the name being something totally different than what you will rest your eyes upon it's good I don't mind the false advertisement it was still delicious! The main dish the salmon and cous cous was decent. I did surprisingly enjoy the sliced grapes on there. But overall the entire dish lacked flavor. I love the incorporation of non conventional ingredients being grouped together but it just didn't taste like anything. My salmon was extremely wet and had a slightly fishy taste. Wanted to get out and further south so decided on Marlow's since we love the Cumming and Buford locations. Smaller place, but same great service and good food. We always start with a cocktail or a cold beer then go for the asparagus spears to start. My mother ate her fav crab jalapeño nachos and loved every bite. I got a black and blue burger, perfect MR with tons of fries and homemade pickle. Service was great, place was packed, parking kind of sucks- small lot, too many cars not enough spots- but this is new so hope to as more parking . ( A lot of construction net). Marlow's has great burgers. There's not much else on the menu for a variety of choices but their burgers are awesome. I had the black and bleu and we split an order of the kettle chips with our friends (total of 6) because Gorgonzola cheese is the best. Both were worth coming here for. I don't normally go to this location but we had gone to laser tag over in Duluth so we were starving after. Marlow's is a bar with great food so they have a ton of options for cocktails and beer. I didn't happen to be drinking that day so I can't exactly remember some of the options but I did notice there were quite a few. This location had plenty of parking and the staff was friendly. Love! I was a little skeptical that this was going to be a generic tavern with decent food. I was very glad to be wrong. Our server (Sharon or Shannon?) was kind and funny. The service here is super friendly and very accommodating. The drink menu is a delight, with some truly fun specialty drinks available. We love the fries, the grit cakes, the steak sandwich with au jus, the grouper sandwich, the kettle chips... The salads are just okay most of the time. Our daughter loves the mac and cheese, which I love too, and the cheese quesadilla with avocado. I love this restaurant and this location is the best one around. They always have the most delicious soups. I get a bowl every time I go. The grouper sandwich is amazing and I dip my fries in their tomato bacon jam, which is fantastic. Their burgers are delicious (the royale with cheese is my favorite and I add grilled onions). Their cocktails are also great. Nice and strong and well balanced. Service is always top-notch. Atmosphere is fun and casual but nice enough for a date. I love that they have a gluten free menu too for our friends who visit us occasionally and have to eat gluten free. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is that it takes a really special and impressive place for me to rate something as perfect. It's hard to be perfect. I don't love their fried asparagus or okra, but that's hardly the end of the world. So much is good here. This place is a solid 4.5 (if I could give half stars). I go fairly often. read more

Came here with family for a quick bite! We came in a Sunday during the after church crowd. With this being a smaller establishment it was tight. It was also really loud but service was pretty good. We sat down and immediately served our drinks. We had to ask for more lunch menu because we were only given one for a table of 6 plus kids. Apps came our fast, but while I didn't partake in apps, everyone said it was delicious. I ordered the Royale with cheese and it was yummy! I could eat their fries for days too. My daughter had the kids steak and broccoli, and I'm glad the menu had a healthy option or two for kids. One down side is I went to the bathroom to change my son, and there were no changing tables. I was really in shock. My son had to stay in a wet diaper the whole time and cried the whole lunch. This location may want to install at least in the bigger of the bath rooms. Was there on St Patty's Day and had a good time. They were as expected doing a good business but were able to seat us right away. NCAA tournament games were on the tv screens and were viewable from multiple angles. They had semi outdoor seating but we sat inside. The food was OK, Parmesan Fries that were fairly bland and a grilled chicken sandwich with chicken that was a little dry. The jalapeño corn grits were tasty. This was my first visit to this one and I will be back! I ordered the scallion salmon and I am so glad I did. This salmon was juicy and bursting with flavor. The vegetable melody that it covered was just as good. The blueberry buck sent my tastebuds on a joyride that I didn't expect. How could a drink be so clear and still have so much flavor?! We get this place catered to work pretty often but this was my first time being in the actual restaurant. When I walked in, the floors were so slippery and I thought I was going to fall. We were seated pretty right when we arrived and the staff was very attentive to our table. Overall, the service was really good and we had a good time. They were even kind enough to separate our checks exactly how we wanted even though it was a little complicated.
