I was talking to one of my daughters that I was going to be in Fresno this week for work and she showed the videos of this place and was like dad you have to try this place! This place is a complete dive! I am not sure if Guy Fieri has ever been here but he might be offended. Inside the ambience has t been updated since it probably opened. The bathrooms are outback and the neighborhood not so great but that's what makes this place great! Food was pretty killer but be forewarned you get a ton of food so anything you order is enough for 2-3 people. This was out 1st time visiting and have been wanting to try this place out since it went viral. If you don't like how you are spoken to like she does in her videos or get your feelings hurt easily then this is not the place for you. She talks to everyone like this. We really enjoyed our visit here. She was really friendly too. It was really busy but the line moved fast and the food was even faster. The menu is big and I didn't know what to order so I took her advice and ordered the Bomb ass shit and let me tell you it was amazing. Eating them as leftovers was even better. There was so much food that my husband and I ate off of 1 plate for 2 days. We had the egg rolls and those were so delicious too. Staff is courteous, however be ready to wait as they are busy. I ordered their fan favorite, "Bomb Ass Shit" and some egg rolls. (sorry no picture). Egg rolls were ok, no big rave about them. Chow mien was tasteless, however fried rice had good flavor. Chicken and pork were so so... shrimp was the only thing that stood out as it was well seasoned and cooked perfectly. Overall, this place is just alright and overpriced. I would not go out of my way to eat here, but might stop in if I was in town and hungry. Have frequented this restaurant for over 10 years. I moved out of town therefore stopped ordering from here because of distance. I decided to go back since I was in the neighborhood. I ordered special beef chow mein, egg rolls, sweet and sour pork, tangerine pork, pork fried rice and pork chow mein. For the prices I paid, I was very disappointed. Egg rolls are half the size. Sweet & sour and tangerine pork was extremely DRY as though the meat had been re-fried. The worst was that half the order was mostly batter with little meat inside and no flavor. Food did not taste fresh at all. The beef was also dry and chewy. The rest tasted good but it's sad they are no longer keeping up with their reputation of good food. Please do better. read more

Idk what happened to my first review, but I remember how I started it. Mark's Kitchen isn't actually Mark's Kitchen. It's been around since I was a kid and Mark is long gone. We got introduced to Mark's over 9 years ago when we used to spend more time on this side of town. We became fairly regular patrons at the time for its convenience, but thats all it was at the time. A convenient place to eat with a variety of options. In fact I'll never forget, Helen said "we can make you whatever you want." Even then she was larger than life, but with the invent of TikTok, she's blown up. It's been a bit since we've been back. So long in fact, she did not remember my wife. She looked at me and said, "you I remember, but I don't remember you," referring to my wife. That's because we mostly did 'to-go' and did the leg work. Sad because my wife was excited to come back and hoping Helen remembered her. And she didn't.... What I remembered about Mark's was that you got a lot of food, so we only ordered 2 plates and a burger. I really didn't want a noodle plate because I recalled that the noodles were plain back in the day. But the crispy noodles were calling to me. My wife was looking at the combos and really wanted the one with pork sweet and sour. We go up and after initial greetings, Helen recommends my wife change her order. Swap out the chicken chow mein for Bomb A** S***. She agrees begrudgingly because she really wanted the pork sweet and sour, and even began to regret that she got talked into changing her order. Well the food comes and she is relieved to find that the pork sweet and sour is still there. We all dig in and it's better than we remember. Literally. I'm a foodie so I'm not going to act like it's the best thing I've ever eaten like I've seen on TikTok, but it's better than it was back in the day. Change is good. Not always but in this case, it's worked wonders. Helen has become a big deal and people come from far and wide to try their food and get cussed at by her. Mostly for the second reason. Now, would I travel from out of Fresno just to try the food? No. But if I was passing through and I wanted something Asian based, sure. The plates are mostly rice and noodle based, but they aren't authentic Chinese, Vietnamese, Thai, Laotian, Hmong, etc. Remember that. Think of it as somewhere between Panda and authentic. I was greeted right away and the service is part of the experience. I LOVED EVER SECOND OF BEING HERE AND THE FOOD. Menu is extensive and have just about everything. This is my honest review - I would only order the Bomb Ass Shit because it is seriously Bomb Ass Shit! Sadly, we went back and ordered other food but it was really bland. First visit we ordered the Bomb Ass Shit pork/beef over noodles + shrimp over fried rice (#25). Each plate was $25.99 but the box was packed full of food and you can easily get 2 meals from it. So when you do the math, it's really about $13/person so not much more than Panda. We didn't know what to order since it was our first time, and Helen recommended we try those plates. She definitely upsold us, but it's okay because we've been wanting to try this place forever and she is so nice and sweet! She does ask if you want to make a TikTok and if you're okay with talking shit, she's also really nice to kids and won't talk too much shit in front of them. Went back because we wanted to try other food specifically the tangerine chicken, kung pao chicken and mongolian beef. These were honestly just alright - tangerine chicken had no flavor, mongolian was also a little bland, kung pao was pretty good. They do ask if you want extra sauce when you order, which I probably should've done but I doubt it would've helped much. We did half fried rice half chow mein and I'm pretty sure there was an upcharge, we paid $65 for 2 plates - still 2 meals but way more expensive than the Bomb Ass Shit.
