Black pepper beef. You won't regret it.
    Patrick T.

Growing up with my grandfather cooking this place brings back a bit of nostalgia for me. One of my favorite dishes that I love to eat was ginger beef. I ordered that on this visit and it was so good. The beef was tender, which tells me they know how to tenderize the beef and the flavor was just how I like it. Plus it was full of gravy that would go good over rice. I would get this again. I also ordered the Dragon Wok chow mein and orange chicken. Both I would order again and again. Still unconvinced, you are missing out then.

    Wor Wonton Soup to go

This brand-new, family-run Chinese restaurant focuses on full-flavored dishes and a genuinely welcoming atmosphere. The family reportedly operates several successful restaurants throughout the Central Valley and is now looking to firmly establish its roots in Fresno. The Dragon Wok is off to a blazing start, earning strong reviews from even some of the pickiest Yelp reviewers. Many highlight the delicious, freshly prepared dishes made with high-quality ingredients--and based on the handful of dishes I have tried so far, I completely agree. The wor wonton soup, Mongolian chicken, shrimp chow fun, and black pepper beef were all excellent, offering a beautiful balance of color, aroma, and flavor. The black pepper beef stood out with velvet-like, tender, juicy strips of beef coated in a thick, glossy, savory brown sauce, finished with a bold kick of freshly cracked black pepper. Slightly caramelized onions and crisp bell peppers added contrast in both texture and flavor. Dragon Wok was also my introduction to Mongolian chicken. I usually order this dish with beef, but the chicken version here was a welcome twist. The crispy, golden-brown bite-sized pieces were tossed with pungent ginger, fresh garlic, and plenty of scallions. The dish delivered an intense, umami-rich flavor with a velvety texture and was very well executed. The shrimp chow fun featured wide rice noodles stir-fried with juicy, marinated shrimp and plenty of crisp bean sprouts. The noodles were soft, chewy, and bouncy, coated in a glossy, dark soy seasoning with aromatic garlic and ginger notes. I especially appreciated the generous use of bean sprouts--something many restaurants skimp on. Dragon Wok honors the traditional Cantonese style with chewy noodles and crunchy toppings. My favorite dish was the wor wonton soup. It was hearty, comforting, and deeply satisfying. The wontons were generously filled with a savory pork and shrimp mixture, complemented by crunchy bok choy and sliced carrots. The broth was clear yet deeply flavorful--a rich blend of chicken and pork infused with ginger and green onion, with a well-balanced umami profile. The orange chicken was also surprisingly good. It is not a dish I normally order due to excessive sugar, heavy breading, and inconsistent quality at many restaurants. However, a staff member recommended it, and I am glad I tried it. The dish struck a nice balance of sweet, citrusy tang, and savoriness. The aroma was bright and subtly spicy, the texture crispy without being overly breaded, and the sauce was light--not overly thick or sticky--allowing the meat to shine. Overall, every dish I have tried has delivered a satisfying combination of flavors and textures. The service is friendly and welcoming, especially the Saturday crew. They are attentive, check in with customers waiting for takeout, make eye contact with warm smiles, and are happy to offer recommendations. 4.5 stars from me.

Finally, a solid Chinese spot in this area! This new establishment on First & Herndon is a nice addition to the neighborhood. I liked the decor inside--they put effort into the vibe and it's a great atmosphere for a meal. Food was tasty and the staff was super welcoming. Still a couple "new business" kinks to work out, but I'm definitely adding this to my regular rotation.

Had to try Dragon Wok as the reviews were so positive. The young ladies who were working the counter were very nice. You walk up to the counter to order and they bring your food to you. Hubby had the kung pao chicken which he said was ok, but found the chicken to be grisly. My Aunt had the wor wonton soup which was huge, she'll be having her leftovers for at least two more meals. I had the broccoli chicken plate w/veggie fried rice and bean sprout chow mein. Again, ok, nothing exciting. I would go back to try some other dishes.

I use to go to a place called Chinese Garden in Selma and also they had another one in Kingsburg but both was sold .I heard that the owner son opened his own restaurant and me and my friend decide to go visit it. When we walk in they greet us and it was kind of different ordering at the counter before we sit down.aI guess it was more like fast food ordering? We both order set plate which was Orange Chicken that came with chow mein and white rice or fried rice.It came out normal time .We both thought it was delicious and had good flavor. The inside was nicely decorated in Asian photo and decoration. We will go back there soon.

Walking into dragon wok was very casual space there were people sitting at various tables. You walk up to order the menu has a lot of great options. The dragon fries were on display and my daughter decided to get those they were on promotion. I got a C one with pan fried noodles, fried rice, and orange chicken. I ordered the garlic noodles. Add chicken to go when they bought the plates to the table. They were very nice and presentation was great food was very hot crispy orange chicken. There was no spice to it but they give you the options of spicy sauces to choose from. Everything we got was really good. I really enjoyed the orange chicken and the rice very flavorful orange chicken very crispy very flavorful. The noodles are great too. Everyone enjoyed their meal. They proved to go boxes portion were big enough to take home

Tried this place on a whim It was newly opened per the signs outside. You order at the counter and they have a good selection. We were four eating and ordered the family meal, three entrees and two sides, you also get 5 pork or veggie spring rolls. We ordered orange chicken, beef with broccoli and mandarin chicken. Probably the best orange chicken ever, very crispy and the mandarin chicken had a nice hot spice to it. The beef and broccoli was delicious as well and tender. Side dishes were bean sprout and noodles and fried rice both were good. Spring rolls were good and crunchy. We ate good and still brought home two take home boxes of leftovers. We will definitely come again as the food and service staff are very helpful and nice.

11/21/25 New! Getting lunch!! I called & ordered the chicken noodle soup since the weather is perfect for it, and the Crab Rangoons The worker said they are popular. She also said the egg rolls are popular. FYI! Let her know that was it and she said it would be ready in 15 and went to pick it up. Arrived! Calm, nice atmosphere. Clean & safe. Spacious. Classy!! Small wait in line. Greeted, let worker know, I paid for it and received with good day wishes!! Appreciated!! Lunchtime! Problem, some of the soup spilt out and went in the bag. Glad they bagged it. Luckily, there was a little left in the container to use. I called and spoke to Anna letting her know what happened. She apologized and was very kind & happy to refund me. Appreciated!! Chicken noodle soup was Really Good. Not a lot of chicken, but still tasty with the noodles and, but of course, getting to spice it up with their Great hot sauce! Crab Rangoons are GREAT! DELICIOUS and it came with a hot-like sauce to dip and it's great too ! Crunchy noodles on the side also! Yummy!! LOTS of leftovers!! GREAT service & REALLY GREAT lunch!! Even though, there was an issue, it still worked out and they made up for it. Plus, apologized. New & learning! They'll get better!! Lots to try & I'll definitely be back! Highly Recommended!!

The family dinner comes with a bowl of sizzling rice soup, An egg roll a pot sticker and foil wrapped chicken. My entree was crispy beef and my husband's entree was Kung pao chicken. Start off the soup was very flavorful, Definitely not your ordinary soup that you would find in the most places to start. The egg roll was a straight veggie roll but it was crispy and flavorful. The pot sticker was probably one of the best I've had in town, The wrapper was not too thick, Silky, Slightly crispy, And the filling was light and delicious not heavy. The Foil wrapped chicken Was different than any other place in that it was lighter and not overburdened with a salty sauce. As far as the entrees, My crispy beef was amazing, So crispy, With a delicious sauce. My husband's Kung pao chicken was so tasty, Everything was fresh and the chicken was not dry. The only downside to our entrees was that they were listed as spicy, But I think you have to ask for really spicy if you look like you can't handle it or something I don't know it just wasn't spicy at all. But we will definitely return and maybe ask for real spicy next time LOL.

There is finally a reasonably priced Chinese take-out option in town that I actually like. The Mongolian Beef featured tender, flavorful slices of meat paired with crisp, plentiful vegetables. The sauce complemented the dish rather than overwhelming it, and it was not overly greasy. The Garlic Chicken was also good, coated in a savory, slightly sweet soy glaze. The meat was soft and perfectly cooked, again accompanied by fresh, crunchy vegetables. Many of the dishes here are authentically Cantonese-style: savory, built around fresh ingredients, lightly sauced, and never excessively oily. Portions are generous as well. This stands in stark contrast to many other Chinese take-out spots I have tried, where the food leans salty, oversauced, and made with cheaper ingredients -- and becomes practically inedible once it cools down. Judging by the simple décor and limited seating, it is clear this restaurant prioritizes cooking over ambiance. Most customers opt for take-out, which likely helps keep prices affordable. Service is warm and efficient. You are greeted as soon as you walk in, and staff members are ready with ordering help and suggestions. Most lunch plates are $10.25 and come with steamed rice or chow mein, or pork fried rice for an additional $2. Lunch plates are offered daily from 10:30 AM to 3:00 PM, including weekends. The menu covers a broad range of Cantonese and Szechuan favorites -- Kung Pao Chicken, Walnut Shrimp, General Tao Chicken, Szechuan Beef, chow mein, chow fun, plus several soups and fried rice options. Combination plates start at $12.90, and the family specials (three dishes for $41) are a solid value. All in all, it is a great spot for anyone craving affordable, satisfying Chinese food -- especially students and anyone on a tight budget.
