I came her in Fresno because my cousins mother passed away. We came after her funeral when she was buried. It was really depressing. Exterior was like looking at a hobby lobby, you heard that correct, it was huge. When entering, you get a massive dining hall with a large buffet in the way back with plenty of seats all around. Price per person was about $17 or so. The food quality was kind of average to me. Chinese food like orange chicken, mushroom roots, steam buns, cakes, ice cream pastries but just nothing compared to Las Vegas bacchanal buffet in comparison. The food was delicious, I enjoyed eating the teppanyaki noodles the most. The desserts were not great. A station where you can have ramen noodles was actually not bad. I enjoyed it. Overall, the atmosphere and the teppanyaki was my favorite. The other food was kind of low, the sushi for example had imitation crab, nothing really fresh. But it is an upgrade to most buffets I've been to. Service was great, the servers cleaned up played quickly so people can go up for more food. It is a place I would definitely try if you like teppanyaki or Mongolian grill places especially at the price point per person.

I will say for the price golden harbor buffet does offer an excellent amount of options that are appetizing. I did enjoy all the food we ate. The service however was poor to almost awful, our waitress never came to our table until we went to the front to ask her for beer refills. The environment in the restaurant didn't feel very welcoming either. I do understand that at buffets it can get hot but when I am sweating due to the heat in the place there is a problem. For the price and the food it is definitely worth a go but don't expect a great service or environment.

Review #835 2025-006 I've never been to Golden Harbor Buffet whenever I've visited my relatives in Fresno, except for 2 occasions in sadness (post-funeral receptions). Opened pre-COVID-19 5 years ago, GHB serves Chinese, American, Mexican foods with Japanese sushi. The restaurant is located on the west end of West Acres Shopping Center. The dining room is deceptive in size, hiding several private dining spaces, including the large room (seats 150?) that held my beloved Aunt's reception. I selected mostly Chinese dishes. I loved the Chinese Broccoli & filled 1/2 my plate with it along with Steamed Bass (last portion was slightly rubbery), Ho Fun (noodles were overcooked so they're broken), Braised Beef (last portion was a little dry) that I topped with some Chili Oil without dripping onto the Custard Bun (tasty bite of creamy custard) with a 2nd plate of specialty rolls, tuna & salmon nigiris, tamago sushi (fresh Sushi Boy-quality sushi), & bowl of Hot & Sour Soup (yummy but mild "hot" heat). Reusing my sushi plate, I went back for a 2nd round, adding fruits: Honeydew & Pineapple, Mango Pudding & Strawberry Jello, & bowl of Tapioca (mild, watery concoction with clumpy mini tapioca pearls; should be creamy & milky with vanilla/pandan, coconut taste). I washed down my lunch with a well-made Arnold Palmer. 2 stations I didn't try was the Pho/Ramen & Taco. Buffet prices are really affordable for the quantity & quality of food choices! I didn't expect 1 YOs to be charged (how much can they really eat); another posted prices pic 5 years ago & they remained the same -- wowza! Though I'm unsure of the actual price since my cousins took care of the bill. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ We had 1 amazing server handling drinks order & clean-up for most of our lunch; for the turnaround, she was pretty efficient! If the website's prices are accurate, I can imagine Golden Harbor Buffet having parking issues on the weekends. I believe some of the entrees, sides, & desserts (there used to be a chocolate fountain) rotate, I would recommend trying this buffet if you're in the area, & suggest selecting hot foods that are freshly plated or mostly new, not less than half empty ones (been sitting awhile). Buffet Prices (January 2025): Lunch: Regular: $12.99, Senior: $11.99, Child: $2.99 (1 YO) , $4.99 (2-3), $8.99 (4-7), $10.99 (8-10) Dinner: Regular: $16.99, Senior: $15.99, Child: $3.99 (1 YO) , $5.99 (2-3), $10.99 (4-7), $12.99 (8-10) Weekends: $17.99 Drinks (soda, hot tea, coffee): 99¢ Dim Sum: Sponge Cake, Sticky Rice, Shiu Mai, Chicken Feet, Beef Louver, Honeycomb Tripe; Buns: Peach (actually looks like one), Taro, Custard, Twisted Roll Entrees & Sides: Fried Crab, Steamed Chicken & Bass, Braised Beef, Orange Chicken, Stir-Fried Chinese Cauliflower, Green Beans, Ho Fun, Chow Mein, Calamari, Potato Skins, Fries Soups: Shrimp with Vegetables, Hot & Sour, Seafood, Miso Fruits: Honeydew, Mango, Pineapple, Orange, Lemon, Banana Desserts: Puddings: Honeydew, Strawberry, Mango; Strawberry Jello; Ice Cream: Strawberry, Vanilla, Chocolate, Rainbow Sherbet; Ice Cream Crepe + Cotton Candy station; Rainbow Rice Crispy & Raisin Crisp Treats; Chocolate Cake; Tiramisu; Vanilla Roll; Tapioca; Egg Tarts; Sesame Balls; Fried Donuts

If your in the mood for buffet and not sure what to eat this buffet has alot of variety of food to choose from. I ate my money's worth of food since we hardly eat at a buffet. Left the buffet with a full belly.

Best all you can eat buffet in Fresno. Service here is good , I recommend getting water if it's busy because it will hard to get a refill. But food is really good quality food the cost of the buffet. Ambiance is like any other buffet lots of families and couples.

Good was decent but for the price you can't complain. The service is as good. But the overall place needed some picking up.

The family dinner comes with a bowl of sizzling rice soup, An egg roll a pot sticker and foil wrapped chicken. My entree was crispy beef and my husband's entree was Kung pao chicken. Start off the soup was very flavorful, Definitely not your ordinary soup that you would find in the most places to start. The egg roll was a straight veggie roll but it was crispy and flavorful. The pot sticker was probably one of the best I've had in town, The wrapper was not too thick, Silky, Slightly crispy, And the filling was light and delicious not heavy. The Foil wrapped chicken Was different than any other place in that it was lighter and not overburdened with a salty sauce. As far as the entrees, My crispy beef was amazing, So crispy, With a delicious sauce. My husband's Kung pao chicken was so tasty, Everything was fresh and the chicken was not dry. The only downside to our entrees was that they were listed as spicy, But I think you have to ask for really spicy if you look like you can't handle it or something I don't know it just wasn't spicy at all. But we will definitely return and maybe ask for real spicy next time LOL.

I called them the day before I needed the trays. The lady I spoke to was so kind and accommodating she said it was never too late to place an order. The day of pick up was NYE 5pm my husband was the one who picked up my order under my name. He arrived promptly at 5pm and said the food wasn't ready 5mins after 5pm he said he was about to leave. Upon arrival the food was still piping hot, it smelled AMAZING and they gave sooooo much food!!! It was nearly packed in trays with foil in a box and the food was piled high. I did notice that the veggie chow mein I had ordered was a combo-chicken, beef, shrimp and veggie, no biggie!!! But the food was delicious as always!!! There was so much leftovers. I would definitely use them again for my catering needs.

There is finally a reasonably priced Chinese take-out option in town that I actually like. The Mongolian Beef featured tender, flavorful slices of meat paired with crisp, plentiful vegetables. The sauce complemented the dish rather than overwhelming it, and it was not overly greasy. The Garlic Chicken was also good, coated in a savory, slightly sweet soy glaze. The meat was soft and perfectly cooked, again accompanied by fresh, crunchy vegetables. Many of the dishes here are authentically Cantonese-style: savory, built around fresh ingredients, lightly sauced, and never excessively oily. Portions are generous as well. This stands in stark contrast to many other Chinese take-out spots I have tried, where the food leans salty, oversauced, and made with cheaper ingredients -- and becomes practically inedible once it cools down. Judging by the simple décor and limited seating, it is clear this restaurant prioritizes cooking over ambiance. Most customers opt for take-out, which likely helps keep prices affordable. Service is warm and efficient. You are greeted as soon as you walk in, and staff members are ready with ordering help and suggestions. Most lunch plates are $10.25 and come with steamed rice or chow mein, or pork fried rice for an additional $2. Lunch plates are offered daily from 10:30 AM to 3:00 PM, including weekends. The menu covers a broad range of Cantonese and Szechuan favorites -- Kung Pao Chicken, Walnut Shrimp, General Tao Chicken, Szechuan Beef, chow mein, chow fun, plus several soups and fried rice options. Combination plates start at $12.90, and the family specials (three dishes for $41) are a solid value. All in all, it is a great spot for anyone craving affordable, satisfying Chinese food -- especially students and anyone on a tight budget.
