    Salmon nicoise.
    Marianne C.

The best! Restaurant quality in a shopping mall. I've been coming to this café since Nordstrom first opened. They recently renovated it within the last year or so. They now even offer alcoholic beverages. I ate lunch there today. Ordered the bruschetta, tomato, and burrata appetizer. Also ordered the salmon nicoise salad. It had string beans, calamata olives, red onions, capers, boiled eggs, and WILD salmon. Both items were excellent. Service is also very good. You order yourself, but after that, you're treated like it's a regular restaurant. I purchased a drink and made my own Arnold Palmer. Was able to get a go-cup too. Can't recommend this cafe enough. I like this cafe so much that I am thinking of going for dinner because I can even get a cocktail if I like. My only complaint is about the restrooms. No hot or warm water. Absolutely frigid water to wash one's hands. Not very hygienic because it is too cold keep rinsing.

A refined pause amidst a day of retail therapy. Nordstrom Cafe's pizza offers a crisp, well-structured crust, layered with quality ingredients and just enough indulgence to feel special--without overwhelming. Understated, but satisfying.

After shopping during the anniversary Nordstrom sale my wife and I went to marketplace for lunch. I was pleasantly surprised of the food quality presented at this location. I quote my wife when I say "this was the best Panini I've ever had." They also have a really nice staff.

After shopping I remembered the cafe in Nordstrom and popped in for lunch. I sat at the bar and the bartender / server immediately greeted me and was spectacular throughout my time there. For some reason I recalled the menu being larger than what it actually was but I finally decided and of course went w the tomato basil soup and a salmon ceasar salad. The soup is always a 10 but the salad was overdressed and the salmon was flavorless. If I do pop in again in the future I'll keep it simple and stick with the soup.

Food and service were excellent. The Cobb salad was delicious, might have to come weekly.

The Nordstrom Marketplace Full Bar! Only a handful in the nation, closest being NYC.

If you're looking for a nice eatery that's near shopping and want to take a moment to sit, this is a nice tucked away spot. Nordy's recently opened FULL bar with 6 seats!! There's a TV, Happy Hour and tables. There is only one other Cafe with full bar in NYC. The menu includes a great list of alcoholic and non- alcoholic choices to enjoy with your snack or meal. Entry is from the luggage area on the first floor or the mall. One suggestion would be to add frosted panels adjacent to the Department store merchandise. I, personally, don't prefer drinking and having conversations near the children's department. + outlets under the counter + purse hooks + TV + 6 bar seats, plenty of tables and lounge chairs + near garage + restroom closeby + dedicated bartender to tending only the bar customers - seating too close to the floor merchandise - lacks privacy - next to the children's section

The service is always wonderful at a Nordstrom marketplace cafe. Food is never inedible, but both our pasta dishes were so overcooked, we were eating soggy fall apart pasta. Again, taste was good, everything else good. Whoever is cooking the pasta needs to remove it way way earlier. Also, looks like they renovated the entry area of the cafe - much more modern, light and airy. Unfortunately the interior larger seating area (where it counts) still looks and feels like Grandma's house.

Good selection of food at good prices. The service is nice and quick, and ambiance is chill and relaxed. My kids love their tomatoe soup and chicken tendors. I love the fact they serve veggies with their kid's meals; very healthy!

I came here again recently, and I would say they have stayed pretty consistent since I last reviewed. The outside of the restaurant looked different though, as it looks like it was renovated since I had last come here. It was opened up more near the entrance, with seating spilling out into Nordstrom. The ordering system has stayed the same: You order at the front of the restaurant, and then pick your seating after ordering and paying. The prices are still pretty high, and it is fairly expensive for what you are getting. The food comes out fast, and is delicious. Their bread rolls are consistently very good. This time around, the bread came with this cheese spread, which was different, as it usually just comes with butter. But I liked the addition of the spread. For my entree, I got the salmon entree with couscous, which was solid. I like it because it feels pretty healthy, but it tastes good. I think the salmon is wild caught, which is a plus for me, and the couscous is really tasty. The service was just okay, and he didn't check up on us very often. Overall, a good experience. I am glad that the restaurant hasn't changed too much in regards to quality.

Delicious! Salmon, couscous, roasted vegetables. Nice serving size for the price. Healthy and good! Cafe is clean, spacious, comfortable, and well lit. Upon entering place your order at the register and pay. Then pick a table. Your food will be brought to you. Bon appetite!

It was something I'd never heard of and looked like it had Angel hair pasta, arugula, and the chicken looked interesting. It looked fried, but not in a typical way. So when I got my meal, I was so pleasantly surprised at how delicious the chicken was. It was a light crispy, airy texture to the skin. And the pasta was delicious - so good. It had mushrooms and sweet peppers along with the butter sauce. Thoroughly enjoyed it! I also ended up getting a mocktail which was a spicy faux margarita. Not bad! It had a nice ambience for groups, and our server was super helpful. He made a lot of good suggestions and made sure to check on us. I would highly recommend this restaurant if you're in the area and looking for a nice dining experience!

I understand that you can't as a restaurant work on the same menu all the time, but they take away almost all staples and replace them with something very questionable. So far I tried 2 items and both were with major issues. First I tried Grilled trout entree and trout was bland with nice farro side . Whole dish seems underwhelming and had a lack of bonding sauce or flavor profile to make it a dish. Second time I had Salmon salad and this was not good at all. Salmon itself was perfectly cooked as a medium rare on my liking and champagne dressing in mixed greens was good. But I salad had cold and slimy potato pieces and big chunks of blackish marinated onions,it was hard to eat and even unpleasant. I'm really disappointed, because Thai shrimp salad was absolutely best salad in DC area as well as other very popular dishes from old menu. Please bring back Thai Shrimp!!

They offer a prix-fixe menu that changes seasonally (?) for brunch and dinner. The ingredients here are high-quality and well prepared and cared for before serving. I've heard great things about Maple Ave from a friends, so I took my family here for dinner this past Wednesday. We really enjoyed the creativity of how the dishes were crafted and plated here and the execution was also phenomenal. This time around, it was 59.00 per person for a 4-course prix-fixe dinner (two appetizers, one entree, and one dessert). Since there were only a couple options per section, we were able to try all the options they had. FIRST: APPLE HAZELNUT SOUP Creamy, pale colored soup with a thicker consistency similar to butternut squash soup. It was lightly sweet, yet savory at the same time. There were some pickled apples and toasted hazelnuts delicately sprinkled on top that added a bit of a crunch. The soup was unique and we enjoyed it. FIRST: ROOTCAKE Between the rootcake and the apple hazelnut soup, the rootcake was my favorite. The vegetables were caramelized and made into a patty, topped generously with almonds with some umami aïoli and pimenton sauce. The rootcake was so good. Each bite was hearty and rich, and it's such a unique way to prepare vegetables. The sauce enhanced each bite and the almonds provided a nutty texture. I would recommend the rootcake as your first option. SECOND: CRISPY SQUASH NUGGETS I didn't think I would enjoy the crispy squash nuggets as much as I did. The roasted squash is breaded with panko crumbs, sitting in some dill yogurt sauce and topped with some raisins and radish. The squash were perfectly seasoned and crispy with a soft interior that left my taste buds wanting more. The dill yogurt sauce was a good complement. I'd definitely recommend this option if you're not a fan of mushrooms and/or you want something more crispy. SECOND: WILD MUSHROOM RISOTTO One of the best mushroom risottos I've ever had. It's rich and creamy, filled with truffle flavor. The shiitake mushrooms had a dry, crispy texture. The manchego shavings on top were a great plus. The squash was used for coloring and probably some flavoring? Not sure. The whole thing was really good and memorable. I'd definitely recommend! THIRD: SHRIMP I'm not a huge fan of shrimp, but my family loved it along with the citrus braised fennel. I was a fan of the creamy semolina, though! Overall, it wasn't for me, but that's more of a personal preference. THIRD: PORK CONFIT STEAK The pork they used was pork belly (?) and seared very nicely, topped with perfectly crispy potatoes, mangoes (?), brown butter sweet potato puree and chimi churri sauce. The pork belly melted in my mouth but as someone who's not the biggest fan of fatty pork, I wish it was a leaner cut. The potatoes were so good and went well with the sweet potato puree. Even though I didn't love the pork confit steak, I'd recommend this entree over the shrimp. FOURTH: MOCK FRIED "APPLE" PIE It was zucchini instead of apple and you can't even tell. I loved the crispy pie exterior which was lightly topped with cinnamon. The vanilla bean ice cream was my favorite as it was creamy and smooth. The dulce de leche and lavender honey were nice touches. Very nice way to end the meal. All the food here were so rich with lots of complex flavors. Each dish was so beautifully plated with many vibrant colors. We were quite full after all the food we ate. I would recommend coming here with another person to try all the options they offer here! The food here is unique and well-executed, and I'd be open to come back to try a different seasonal menu.

After seeing the list, we chose Randy's. Randy's is a Great American Restaurant, and I must say it's so good to go to a GAR with a menu different from the others. In the past, I've written about how one can go to Coastal Flats and get pretty much the same menu as, for example, Jackson's. We made a reservation for 5 p.m. on a Saturday. We arrived about a half hour early, so we asked if they could seat us right then and there. The people at the host stand said "yes". We were seated at a 4-top booth. Thus, there was plenty of room. The booths, which have mohair seat coverings, were a shade of green and quite attractive. The environment clearly says "upscale steakhouse." Our server was prompt in getting to us and asked if we wanted some water. We chose tap water. He gave us time to look over the menu. We decided to not have any appetizers as we didn't want to get too full. To drink, my husband got a glass of Catena Malbec while I got an Espresso Martini. Our server asked if we wanted some bread. We said "yes". The bread basket had 2 flaky, buttery croissants, plus a slice of white bread and a slice with raisins. For our main course, we both got the 7 oz. filet mignon cooked medium rare. We chose to try two sides. One side was "roasted asparagus" which consists of: "poached egg, parmesan (we asked for no cheese and our request was honored), truffled Bernaise aioli". The second side was "Honey roasted organic rainbow carrots," which were "dusted with candied walnuts". As for the food --- We both thought our steaks were properly cooked, However, my husband said his was on the dry side while mine was just right. We both really enjoyed the side dishes. The asparagus was unconventional, to be sure. Never did I have a poached egg with asparagus. I ate the egg, and it was properly cooked. Looking back, I should have thought to put some salt on it as there was none. The truffled sauce was creamy and added nice flavor. The carrots, to me anyway, were a pleasant surprise. The honey added a nice flavor along with the candied walnuts. They, too, were cooked perfectly. As for being "rainbow" carrots, most were orange, with some white and yellow ones. We had some room for dessert, so we decided to share "Tressa's crispy meringue filled with lemon curd and finished with passionfruit coulis". Since it was our anniversary dinner, a dollop of whipped cream was added to the plate. In that dollop was a lit candle, which was a nice touch. I found the coulis to be on the tart side. The lemon curd was mildly flavored. Service was excellent, though dessert took a while ,to arrive. All in all, a nice splurge and we're glad we came here. (Well...we didn't care for the traffic on Leesburg Pike, but the dinner made it worth the trip).

Service: 8/10 Had great service! The hosts and waitresses were welcoming and kind. I do feel like the tables should already have silverware so I had to request it in order to eat my food. Ambiance: 8/10 I like the vibe here. My friend calls it an "upscale Friday's" lol. Prices were not too bad tho. Overall: 7.8 /10 I will be back but try something different
