This was actually a pretty cool place! At first I didn't even know what restaurant I walked in. After a couple of minutes sitting there i asked my waitress what was the name of the restaurant. I actually just saw people sitting out on a deck, and decided to join the crowd because I was starving. Lol! But it was very laid back. And it had a nice, cool, calm atmosphere. The french toast wassssss soooooo goood!!!! I don't know how they make there potato's or what they season it with but it was soooooo yummmmyyy. The only thing I was disappointed in was the eggs. It tasted like box eggs. My mom kept complaining to me about it. Then when I tasted it... It did taste like box eggs.... Yeahhhh it wasn't real eggs. And it didn't have the white inside the scrabble eggs like eggs are suppose to have. So it was definitely box eggs :( . Recently went with a large group. appetizers: we had the tuna bites which were good , nachos and fries were solid also. dinner: had the crab cake and shrimp platter. I normally don't comment on service since any place can have a bad night but the attitude on the waitress unfortunately stunk. We went on a Sunday afternoon, the appetizers of calamari and sweet potato fries were under cooked in too much oil, make them soggy. Our garden salad contained the bitter ends of the lettuce. Our main entrees were not cooked as the menu stated they would be. My scallops were again under cooked and obviously not correctly broiled, my wife's crab cakes were served less than Luke warm. Our server Aubrey was great, but the bartender found it necessary to stand next to our table while acting out getting into a fight and swearing in front of our 2 year old. Stopped by on a Saturday really because Taphouse was full..so glad it was. Marker 20 was great. The waitress was pleasant and personable and very attentive. The food was fresh and tasted good. I enjoy coming here and dining outside and having little Michelle wait on us. We normally start off with their yummy crab dip. Terrible service. We waited 20 minutes before I had to walk to the bar myself to get menus and a beer. Then I had to flag down a waitress for the third time to take my order and she got salty with me because I went to the bar instead of ordering from her. Then she told me it would be a 40 minute wait to get food from the kitchen so I had to forgo food altogether because I needed to be somewhere. Now if she had taken my order when I sat down half an hour ago, I probably would've been able to wait for the food. Horrible service, disgusting food. We waited 30 minutes before we had someone take our drink orders. We waited another ten minutes and were just about to leave when we saw him coming with the WRONG drinks. We said it was okay and ordered (we didn't get a menu until he came and took our drink order so we relied on our iPhones and the extra ten minutes it took to bring the drinks side note: I ordered water). I ordered a N'awlins omelet, the greasiest thing I have ever eaten. We didn't eat all of our omelet and we weren't offered any discount on crappy service. Worst place and experience at a restaurant ever. Will not go back and I don't recommend anyone else to waste the time and money. Just sat and waited 45 minutes and finally left. They were bringing our food out as we left and it wasn't even what we ordered. The waitress gave us our drinks and never came back. The people next to us waited 10-15 minutes for the waitress to even come back and take their check and payment. When she did come back she yelled from their table to ours "Sorry, kitchen is busy". There food is either not handled correctly and/or not fully cooked because the ONE person who ordered food from our group, which was the thai shrimp, made him sick as a dog! We will never go back. Why risk getting food poisoning when there are other places out there with quality food. The cooks that work there are filthy looking too. They look like the type that don't follow the sign in the bathroom that says 'employees must wash hands before returning to work.' If you don't ever go to this place, you're not missing out on anything. Save your hard earned money and your health. Go some where else! read more

Local "Sip n Puke" has some charm with live music and an outdoor venue, but no bueno on food or niceties.

This is my second visit to Marker 20. The two dishes I've had here: fiery tuna bites and chicken ceasar wrap made buffalo style were both fairly good so I give two stars for that. Their draft beer selection is so-so but it appears they may specialize in crushes so the menu for that looked pretty extensive. I'd check out the other bars on the same road or brewery across the street if you're looking for a larger beer list. Marker lost three stars from me today because of the service. At first, our server Kayla, seemed straight to the point and not overly friendly but not to a point that was too abrasive. I was being indecisive about what to order and she did lighten up a little and help me narrow it down. My friend wanted to order the tuna steak sandwich and when our server went over to the computer to put in her order she asked my friend if she had a reuben sandwich before to which my friend replied no and our server said "you're going to get a reuben instead!" And put that in as my friend's order...she then added if she didn't like it that the meal would be on her but still my friend never wanted the reuben in the first place but felt put on the spot and awkward so didn't refuse when our waitress basically insisted she get that instead and really gave her no choice in the matter. My friend thought it was okay enough to eat but overall knew it isn't what she wanted. The food came and we ate and it was fairly good as mentioned. As we neared the end of our meal, I notice our server starting to get restless, I guess because the next server came in and she was ready to go home. She kept asking to clear our plate ls and we were still working on our fries. She finally drops off the checks which we never requested and tells us she's just dropping them off. We were still chatting and nibbling and I can see our server out of the corner of my eye, eyeing us constantly trying to see if we paid, I'm assuming. We had the checks at our table all of 10 minutes (if that) and she comes over and asks us if we don't mind sliding our payments in the book so she can leave because the next server is here and wants to take over her section. At this point, I found it very rude how she was basically rushing us out. I have been in the restaurant business for years and so I completely understand working all day and wanting to make it out of work when your relief gets there, however she went about it all wrong. If she had simply asked us if we wanted to pay or be transferred to the next server since she was headed out, our experience would have been totally different and her tip would have been too. Our server swiped our cards and brought it back and told us if we wanted to order another drink that the other server would be back to take care of that. This other server never even looked in our direction for the last 20 or so minutes we were there....I don't fully blame her as we had paid our check and the message was probably not relayed but still...we both wanted to order another drink but went to the bar next door to do so instead since no one seemed interested in serving us or even just making sure we didn't need anything else since our server rushed out on us. Overall, the food is decent or at least the two items I've had. The service is poor, or at least it was this time. The bartender seemed friendly so I guess that's a plus. This seems like a place with a lot of local regulars and they seemed to get VERY friendly and attentive service but for the rest of us it seems like a hit or miss. I'm not sure the food is good enough for me to return and take the chance of a similar customer service experience. read more

This place was horrible for a restaurant. We started with the dirty rice Cajun balls and they were soggy. Uhmm the are supposed to be crispy. Strike one. Second strike was when the waitress did not return to clear the plates. This wouldn't have been a problem, but eating outside with the flies and gnats made it a swarm around the plates. Final straw was the sorry excuse of a po-boy that came out. Having spent many years in the NO, this was an embarrassment to say the least. Soggy shrimp. Old fries. And who knew...a hoggie roll. I appreciate that everything seems to be made in house, it's a large restaurant, has outside seating and that the staff are friendly and attentive, but it wasn't anything that I would go back for. The entrance really needs to be made more inviting, we actually thought it was closed. The windows needed to be cleaned, the outside display menus were untidy looking in the display case and there was something left on the floor in one of the window cubbies so first impressions were not great. Had Sunday brunch, mimosa was *meh* & plastic disposable cups for tea are wasteful. Poached eggs were great but the untoasted English muffin cut my gum! Probably should be kept in an airtight container before using. The potatoes *looked* home made but maybe baked in the oven - they were dried out or they were cooked and left sitting out then microwaved. The pass was cluttered and high - I was afraid the servers would spill something on themselves. They were busy so they have potential but they really need to tidy it up a bit! Unsatisfied. Why can't yelp give the option of no stars? We had a group of 11 and waited a good while and no one came over to even give us menus or communicate why there was a wait. Someone in our party had to get up and walk to a waiter to ask what was going on and they said, "we see you, you're a large party and we are busy" so basically we were not a priority. Meanwhile the bar tender had time to leave his post and flirt with a young woman at another table and all of the staff were standing around. Very low rating for one reason..... My service was a problem. My waitress was Jennifer. She was nice, when she came by, but that was not often. We had to wait to order additional drinks, as she was MIA. The food took a bit, but I can only imagine that was not her fault...unless she did not put it in when the order was originally placed. Who knows? There was an accidental spill at out table, again she was MIA...had to find napkins ourselves, to clean it. We had a 3rd person join, took her a while to even offer him a menu or drink. Even if I can get pass all of this....here is the ultimate NO NO. She kept my change!! I did not tell her to keep it, she took it upon herself to STEAL my money. She never came back to bring it. She dropped off the other party card and never mentioned my cash. So, I asked her for it, watched her get it out of her pocket and say "I'm sorry, I thought I gave it to you". I know this was not true, because she didn't ask any questions, for her to have thought that she gave it to me. And how did she think this? She didn't hand the cash to me, she didn't give me a blck book, she didn't even put 2 on our table. [She brought one with the card in it] It was only 4.00, but it was MY 4.00. Yes, when she came to bring my change, I would have told her that it was for her, but you don't TAKE anything without asking! EVER. Here comes the ULTIMATE.....because she attempted to steal from me, I took the intended tip and left nothing....and she had the audacity to come behind me and ask me did I take the money and not leave it? I am not kidding you.....she approached me at another table, as I was saying bye to some people that were also dining. How dare Jennifer question a guest about a tip? Classless, and not a good representation of the establishment. My food was amazing! I had the Marker omelette and added shrimp as well as crabmeat. The potatoes were just regular frozen diced potatoes. My drinks were amazing! I had a breakfast shot and a screwdriver. I am a disabled Veteran from multiple tours in Iraq,as well as Kuwait. I have a service dog that I need for PTSD, TBI, and Cataplexy. I was admitted into the establishment after being interrogated about my service animal, even though he is clearly marked by his vest, patches, as well as tags... Half way through my first beer, I was approached and asked to leave because of having a service animal. The owner ran away as asked to video him kicking me out because of having a service animal. I proceeded to video the bouncers telling me I had to leave, the owner called the police, 4 cars arrived to the scene, then the owner tried telling me my dog was not a service animal, then tried saying I had to much to drink, and the whole time not only the bouncers, but the police were not removing me from the establishment. Several customers walked out in show if support for me being a Veteran, and clearly being mistreated. I did leave, and am seeking legal action against Marker 20. I would ask any Service Members, Veterans, or family of to boycott this establishment. I do have video of this event to back my statements, as well as my service animal's certifications, and license. read more

Marker 20 in downtown Hampton is really cool place perfectly suited to warm weather. There's a large outdoor patio area that feels awesome with a night time summer breeze. The bar area is long and cozy and the drinks are always strong. They frequently have bands or open mic nights, and that gets loud honestly, but overall it's a good time. The food is adequate, but the crowd and the ambiance make up for it by creating a nice vibe. The staff is pretty average here, no one went completely out of there way to give me great service, but the food comes out pretty quickly and they will get to you fast if you need a drink. Bands are usually during the week to bring in a crowd and the weekends are pretty busy. read more

Service was friendly, beer was good, but the fish and chips (I was told that was their popular food of choice) was just OK, a little overcooked. The location was good. You need to be there before 9pm if you want to not pay a cover charge on weekends. The band was good. This place got really packed later in the night. read more

Great bar and grill with craft beeer on tap, interesting variations on traditional bar food (I especially like the the Crab Philly wrap) and friendly, prompt service. Purely as a restaurant, maybe 3 stars, but the overall fun, friendly ambiance and craft beers more than make up for it. read more

I stopped in from my parents, not knowing what to expect. The food was wonderful and the service was great. I, unfortunately, found a hair in my nachos, but the waitress was very accomadating and immediately had them remade for me. They were exceptionally polite and I was very pleased.
