Chicken & Waffle Sammie w/ Fries
Jordan B.

I went to The Deep in downtown Hampton with my best friend and we had a great time. It's super cozy with a cute nautical theme inside. We started off with the frozen watermelon margarita and the frozen blueberry lemonade cocktails and both were super refreshing, especially on a hot summer day. We ordered the ahi tuna nachos to share and I was impressed with how much tuna they put on them. For our main dish we got the chicken and waffle sandwiches. I really liked how the sweetness of the waffle went with the pimento cheese and fried chicken. The service was a little slow and the prices are on the higher side but everyone was really friendly. They're still new so I think they're just getting their footing. I'd definitely recommend trying it out and I've already got my eye on their Happy Hour for the next time I'm in town. I might even try some dessert too, their cheesecakes look amazing!

Tried The Deep for the 2nd time and I was glad I returned. We went for brunch and the food was delicious, the presentation was wonderful and the service was worth the return considering how busy the establishment got after we got there. I plan to return soon for other meals. Highlight or the meal...the creme brulee french toast. Another fan favorite not pictured, blueberry muffin french toast!

We decided that The Deep was going to be our final brunch spot while in town. Best decision in my opinion. Instantly we were greeted with a smile and a friendly vibe. The menu was loaded with options that started the mouth-watering torture, which is great because if you can't decide instantly then the menu is boring. The Deep menu is NOT boring. I got the blueberry French toast and bacon. Not only was the French toast incredible, the pile of bacon was amazing. My fiancé got the veggie omelet and Gouda grits. Those grits could bring peace to the planet!! Soooo perfect. We enjoyed every bite. Since it's a 1,500 mile drive for us to return, do us a favor and go there often and enjoy on our behalf.

Small restaurant, almost cramped, but with good seafood. Was very impressed by the quality of food. Located in downtown Hampton. Looking forward to returning again.

A new hidden gem me and my husband went to try out this spot that yelp actually recommended in our area since we are in Hampton and we been all over when it comes to try new spot but This one I will be adding on my top places to go for a good cocktail and good food we actually got there during their happy hour where it's from 2pm-6pm definitely a good spot for unwind after a long day or just strolling through and finding the place is near the nearby small restaurant and bar at downtown Hampton and we actually met the owner who was very kind and welcoming also attentive from the moment we came in and when we headed out which I find that very amazing service and makes us want to continue to come and enjoy and show our support . She also gave us some background about her business that this is women owned business and they been open since October of last year they are still new and the atmosphere vibrate and is very cozy to just lounge get some good bites we tried there tuna melt and there Chesapeake fries with some cocktails I got the sweet peach definitely a peach lover and this was very complementary with food we had and especially something refreshing for the summer heat

Shrimp Po Boy and Asparagus Chefs Kiss!!

I just ordered the shrimp po boy with asparagus and it did not disappoint. The shrimp was seasoned perfectly and they were especially crispy and delicious. The asparagus was cooked to perfection . My hats off to the chef. The service and ambiance was amazing. We absolutely love Kiersten and Mak!! So sociable and kind. We'll definitely come back and we highly recommend this spot and the Raspberry lemon martini's

Crab, shrimp and ham omelette

Absolutely amazing from start to finish! Service, food, cleanliness! This place is fantastic! We had a shrimp, crab and ham omelette with grits and short rib over grits with an egg and onion straws. Wonderful!!! The people were all so nice! This place is a must!

The Rhythm Room is located in the heart of Peninsula Town Center which means finding parking was a bit of a challenge. My friend parked in a parking garage that was fairly close but I had to circle the block a few times and happened to find parking on the street almost 2 blocks away. Before we walked in, security checked our bags and were patting down the guys, which I thought was interesting seeing as though this was more of a restaurant than a bar/club environment but I guess you can't be too sure. We made reservations for 7pm and our table was ready as soon as we arrived. Our server was very nice and greeted us right away. We both ordered the Island Breeze cocktail and it was alright, it tasted more like juice than anything else. For appetizers, we decided on the Mac & Cheese Bites, Buffalo Crab Dip and the Salmon Bites. The food was served fairly quickly but the Mac & Cheese Bites were a bit dry and the Salmon Bites weren't very flavorful. The Buffalo Crab Dip was my favorite and had actually had an abundance of crab, which we enjoyed. We were hoping there would be a live band but was told there wasn't a band on Saturdays, which we thought would've been a nice touch since there's one on Fridays. Eventually, a DJ did show up so that helped create a vibe but it did start getting packed as the evening went on so we decided to leave. Overall, The Rhythm Room was pretty decent. It was a bit of an older crowd when we went but we had a good time nonetheless. If you live in Hampton or want to try out a new spot with a decent vibe, definitely check them out.

Nothing was set up. They finally let us in because it had to be a fire hazard to have that many people standing in the hallway. Everyone was let in and given wristbands. The lady giving them out didn't know how to put them on, so she just handed them to people. Again general admission tables, seating other than surrounding the pool wasn't available. There was no food after 11, or tables set. 20-30min later there was a dash of people trying to set up. One man in particular, I'm assuming he was in charge, came around apologizing for most of his staff not being present and comping mimosas. He was very aware and alert that everything started sideways and he just wanted to fix it. He was putting out tables and chairs in his suit. The bar seemed extremely slow and behind on fixing drinks. Once things got going the food was ok, no complaints here. It was a beautiful rooftop setting, it was extremely hot, the pop up tents provided shade. I would like to go back to give it another shot, when they are properly staffed and the food is better than "ok".

Whether it's with friends or just the two of us, we've never been disappointed. Let's see how this visit went. We were immediately seated once we walked inside. It wasn't completely packed for a Saturday afternoon but staff was really busy with customers. The vibe was one that made us comfortable for the most part. After a few minutes of looking over the menu, we were ready to order. My selection was the Tavern Monte Cristo which consisted of chargrilled chicken and ham as the protein with Gouda cheese and cider aioli fried in a tempura batter with tavern fries. The meal was served hot and ready and tasted great. And having the cranberry coulis as a dipping sauce really added some taste. My only gripe with the sandwich was the amount of protein. I'm not sure if I ate most of it when we dined in, but when I ate the rest for dinner, it was more breading than anything else. Still good but they could've included more. Nonetheless, I was full. Good stuff as always from Park Lane Tavern :)

Our waitress was wonderful throughout our entire experience. She was very attentive. She was able to answer any questions we had. I feel like mock tails are becoming a really big thing sometimes it's nice to come out and not get an alcoholic drink and not have to be stuck with soda, tea or waterHaving a mocktail is a really nice option. There were six of us dining, and we all got different dishes, which was nice to see everyone's meal. The meals were pretty good. They were definitely pricey. Some of them. I understood the asparagus was a little more expensive than we were expecting. The brioche rolls were really pretty good and the citrus butter was perfect. It was not overpowering. My chicken was very flavorful the way they cook it definitely kept it moist. For dessert, I opted for the vanilla crème brûlée. The problem I had was the crème brûlée was overcooked. It was the texture of scrambled eggs. It wasn't smooth. The rest of the desserts really just did not meet our expectations. I really had high hopes for that. I would definitely return when the menu changes, but I don't think I'd be bringing my entire family to save money lol

I had walked past this place over a dozen times, always thinking it seemed a bit expensive. I finally decided to try it and confirmed that the prices were indeed high, which can be perfectly acceptable if the food quality matches the cost. Unfortunately, it didn't. I ordered the burger because it was the least expensive entrée on the menu at $24. While it wasn't bad, it certainly didn't justify the price. I'm not completely certain, but I strongly suspect the patty had been previously frozen. The bun also felt like a standard packaged brioche bun rather than something fresh or house-made. My buddy ordered a steak that cost nearly $100, but it looked like it had been cooked in a pan with little care or attention to detail. Presentation and preparation simply didn't match the premium price point. But he was given a tray of fancy salts to use on the steak? We also tried a flight of their three Old Fashioneds, and each one missed the mark. The Black Forest Old Fashioned tasted more like a cherry-forward cocktail than a whiskey drink, and their house Old Fashioned, which included Grand Marnier, came across more like a soda than a balanced, spirit-forward cocktail. Overall, while the food and drinks were decent, they fell well short of justifying the high prices. At this price point, I expected significantly higher quality, attention to detail, and execution. The saving grace was the wonderful and kind staff that work there. They were knowledgeable about the menu and were able to help guide you through your decisions with patience, which I would expect at this kind of restaurant.
