185 in Poquoson is the Real Deal -- Don't Sleep on This Place!…read more It is always unplanned trips that allow me to explore a bit and glad I did. I was sitting in the parking lot of a large chain breakfast pulled up Yelp to see what I might be missing. Glad wasn't lazy...15 mins later I was in the parking lot for 185! If you haven't been to 185 on Little Florida Road in Poquoson, you are seriously missing out. This charming, family-owned neighborhood gem is everything a great local restaurant should be and then some. The moment I walked through the door, I felt it. You're not just a customer here; you're a guest. The welcome was immediate and genuine and set the tone for the whole experience before I even sat down. I ordered the brisket sandwich with sweet potato fries, and wow, it delivered. I was surprised the blackberry chipotle sauce worked BERY WELL! The brisket was tender, flavorful, and clearly made with care. Paired with perfectly seasoned sweet potato fries, it was the kind of meal that sticks with you long after you leave. This isn't reheated, thrown-together food, you can taste the love and craft in every bite. It was like Woman Power this morning with all ladies from front to back. Their whole vibe was awesome from the front of the house to the back. I have to give a very special shoutout to my waitress, Tiffany... she was absolutely AWESOME. Attentive, personable, and full of good energy, she made the whole experience even better. The kind of server who makes you feel like you're dining with a friend. Looks like 185 was ranked #87 on Yelp's Top 100 Restaurants in 2023, and after my visit, I completely understand why. The owners obviously had a beautiful vision and it is being executed incredibly...to my benefit today! Five stars, without question. When I am back in the area....I'll be back, and I'm bringing my wife will tell everyone I know.

Overall, Farmer's Table delivers consistently excellent food and a welcoming dining experience. It's a place I'll gladly return to and recommend to anyone looking for a fresh, quality meal.

In good weather their outdoor patio looks like a great place to sit down and enjoy your All American burgers, fries and shakes. In colder seasons their indoor facilities are countrified and comfortable for those purists who choose to eat on premises to have their food right off the grill or deep fryer when they are at the peak of flavor. Apparently, their ice cream and soft serve are also noteworthy. I did takeout, and thought something was lost in the time it took to get home. The cheeseburger was still hot, juicy and delicious, but the fries had lost their crispness and were over salted. Similarly, my vanilla soft serve had partially melted and separated into a sweet cool slurry and a still composed core that had much less of the expected taste. Definitely eat right there to maintain maximum enjoyment. Service was friendly and welcoming with beautiful smiles all around. Four Farm to Table Stars, but be sure to eat right there for the full experience.

Saté is elevated without feeling exclusive; you might feel out of place in a t-shirt, but you won't feel unwelcome in the slightest. I will frequently return to enjoy a meal here. Personal favorites include: Mac & Cheese Egg Rolls, Nana's chicken, and of course, the amazing butter that comes with rolls (you might have to ask for them, but they're free! Wings, burgers, Philly cheesesteak, etc... The beef nachos are made with the same meat as the cheesesteak, which I didn't love or hate. Different but not bad. I've never had anything here that wasn't acceptable. My son loves the TJ's Burger. The new TJ's (the old one was torn down and is now the parking lot in front of the new one) is a big open atmosphere with TV's everywhere you turn. As a huge sports fan, this makes me happy! The servers are pretty friendly overall. My issue is the service. Since this is pretty much the only night spot in town, and they regularly have bands, they can get pretty busy. That's great for business, but it's been awful for service. I'm hopeful they'll hire more staff, but it's been a couple of months since they opened the new building and the service is so so so SLOW. I'm not exaggerating at all when I say we sat there for over 15 minutes without so much as a 'I'll be with you in just a minute.' That would go a long way with people wondering if they're even seen. Instead we made eye contact with any waitress we saw in hopes of getting service. Ultimately we had to go up to the bar and get our beers and walk it back to the table. We told the bartender we would like to eat and she said she'd be right over. More than 10 minutes elapsed and still no one visited the table. We went back up to the bar to order. From that part on, service improved. It coincided with business slowing down. This was around 9:30 on their karaoke night (I think it was a Thursday.) If they can fix their service issues I'd recommend it as a good place to have a few beers and a bite to eat. Also to note - Tony, the owner, is a nice guy. I had the pleasure of having a beer and a couple shots with him at the old TJ's. He even gave me a tour of the building of the new one, which was near to see He's been there almost every time I've gone. I hope TJ's thrives here in Poquoson! Give them a try & keep in mind every business has growing pains.
