Hot Honey Chicken Tenders

Hubby and I visited just yesterday afternoon and couldn't believe it took us this long to try !!! The service was amazing, the food was sooooo delectable, and the space was pretty nice with TVs and an arcade! Hope to visit again soon as we were completely blown away!

3 pick 3 platters (brisket, chicken thighs and pulled pork). One thing I really dislike about any bbq spot is bathing my food in sauce, the first thing that comes to mind is either your food lacks flavor or it's dry. The flavor was okay, nothing to rave about I think the pulled pork had the most flavor out of all three (seasoning and smoke). Half of the brisket I received was nothing but fat the other 1/4 was burned and at $32 a platter I'd expect to get better portions. On top of that the cold sides are plated with hot food. Probably the worst idea ever. I'll more than likely just wait until u get my smoker before eating bbq again

I was famished and googled barbecue places near Williamsburg and this place surfaced. The food in the pictures looked scrumptious. The restaurant is located at the end of the Food Lion strip mall. Upon arrival, I was not greeted, the young man seemed a bit overwhelmed. I wanted the wings but they were out so I tried the brisket, beans, and macaroni and cheese. The brisket was a healthy portion but lacked flavor and was a little tough. Barbecue sauce was placed on the brisket to go with the flavor. The macaroni and cheese was really bland, it tasted like macaroni with wine cheese sprinkled on it. The beans tasted just like root beer. I couldn't not finish the platter because the food was not good.

Hands down a great BBQ down here. The came out quick and it was great. The service was amazing. It was nice place where you can come have a few drinks and enjoy a meal. Great selection in happy hour.

I love a great BBQ place and this place hit all the marks with yummy food, great service and a great atmosphere inside! It was our first time here and decided to go all out and try a bunch of the different food items they offered. Had plenty of leftovers which was not a bad thing with the yummy quality of food. Food: Complimentary rolls with honey butter! Let's just say you had me at Honey Butter! The rolls were also soft and moist. Meats: sausage, chicken, brisket chicken wings and pulled pork, and to be honest all the meats were good! My top 3 were the chicken, pulled pork and wings. Love all the sauces too! Particularly liked the one that came on the chicken and pulled pork. Sides: Baked beans -good flavor Green beans-nice spice Jalapeño Mac and cheese-so good and not spicy just flavorful Potato salad- also very good! We also started with the chili and gumbo and both were delicious. Gumbo reminded me of gumbo from down in Louisiana! We got a chocolate chip cookie to go and they are homemade and delicious. Our server was extremely friendly and made sure we had refills and answered all of our questions. Inside there isn't too much seating but there is also a bar area with seats. I love the dim lighting instead of bright lighting. Can't wait to go back! .

The service was excellent. We were attended to and the waitress was very kind and nice. The food was good and the portion sizes were reasonable. The potato salad was a bit bland. It was advertised as sour cream and onion but we didn't get those flavors. The meats were good. The Mac n cheese was very good but the shredded cheese on top was unnecessary and should have been breadcrumbs. Also I wish there was cornbread on the menu. The coleslaw was really good and I don't normally like coleslaw. We bought cookies to go and are looking forward to trying them. We had a good experience and would come back again.

So on the peninsula is there any barbecue place the is better? No. No there isn't. Full disclosure I am a barbecue snob, I grew up in the Midwest with lost of great barbecue and have made and eaten lots of great barbecue. It's not a fair review to compare barbecue places in this area with places in my memories. So I have to change my review. The addition of the stars is based on the following. 1. There is nothing they did wrong and everything they did they is well seasoned and presented in a clean nice place with nice people working. 2. My wife and I have been back here multiple times and have not gone to any other barbecue place in the area. 3. The menu always seems to have items that both sound interesting, taste delicious, and aren't found on other barbecue menus. 4. They stay in their lane and keep reimagining dishes related to barbecue without trying to make the menu be everything to everyone.

Not sure how to describe the vibe- clean modern feel with a touch of cozy here and there - like the sofa when u first walk in. Pros: Cool sofa for waiting on a table or maybe cocktails? Krista was our server and she was delightful. Friendly and helpful - let us know her favorites and got our order in quickly since we couldn't take too long. Nice cocktail selection and even better range for apps and mains. Loved the ahi tuna flatbread!! Our favorite of the apps. Could have ordered for dinner and left very happy since it cost less too lol. Seared scallops were delicious- the sauce and fresh corn were amazing. Shrimp and grits had an impressive depth of flavor and the spinach and tomatoes were a unique addition. The black bass was also very good. Cons Prices on the higher side even for a fancy restaurant in Richmond. Didn't love the complimentary bread and butter: I appreciated trying to make the butter something unique- going for savory and sweet the white chocolate and herbs but the white chocolate didn't really work for us as an ingredient. Felt like the bread should've been crusty for butter like this and not the soft rolls they served. Didn't care for the pork belly appetizer. Instead of being crispy, it was just tough.

I assured her it was, although my inner voice was thinking, "We'll know for sure in about six hours." I'm happy to report it truly was gluten-free, and she had no issues at all. This has been high on my "want to try" for a long time and finally saw an opportunity with an available reservation, went for it and am so happy I did. I dined solo, which I rarely do, but this was the perfect place for it. It was apparent that most people dining were regulars. The owner was chatting with just about everyone and diners were popping over to other tables to say hello, as well. Felt like a very small town. Service was perfect - not overbearing, but perfectly timed for a good flow throughout dinner. Their menu changes often, so some of the items I loved, may not be available - but it does seem like their fried oysters are a mainstay and holy moly, they were delicious. I had one cocktail - I believe it was called Watermelon Sugar. It had vodka, aperol and fresh watermelon. Refreshing and smooth. I tried two apps: the fried oysters and the bao buns. Both were fantastic. Perfectly prepared, so much flavor. I think that next time, I would stick to the appetizer section and try many rather than getting an entree. I got the scallops, which were delicious, but the apps wow-ed me more. Prices aren't low, but you get what you pay for - really high quality dishes with lots of thought and execution embedded. I don't say this lightly - this has been added to my top 10 list in all of Hampton Roads!

I was sitting in the parking lot of a large chain breakfast pulled up Yelp to see what I might be missing. Glad wasn't lazy...15 mins later I was in the parking lot for 185! If you haven't been to 185 on Little Florida Road in Poquoson, you are seriously missing out. This charming, family-owned neighborhood gem is everything a great local restaurant should be and then some. The moment I walked through the door, I felt it. You're not just a customer here; you're a guest. The welcome was immediate and genuine and set the tone for the whole experience before I even sat down. I ordered the brisket sandwich with sweet potato fries, and wow, it delivered. I was surprised the blackberry chipotle sauce worked BERY WELL! The brisket was tender, flavorful, and clearly made with care. Paired with perfectly seasoned sweet potato fries, it was the kind of meal that sticks with you long after you leave. This isn't reheated, thrown-together food, you can taste the love and craft in every bite. It was like Woman Power this morning with all ladies from front to back. Their whole vibe was awesome from the front of the house to the back. I have to give a very special shoutout to my waitress, Tiffany... she was absolutely AWESOME. Attentive, personable, and full of good energy, she made the whole experience even better. The kind of server who makes you feel like you're dining with a friend. Looks like 185 was ranked #87 on Yelp's Top 100 Restaurants in 2023, and after my visit, I completely understand why. The owners obviously had a beautiful vision and it is being executed incredibly...to my benefit today! Five stars, without question. If they had they would have heard about missing beer menus, dirty/greasy salt grinders, dead flies littering the window sills next to the tables, slow and disinterested service and a seeming lack of interest of the staff in anything but chatting with each other. County Grill in Yorktown has always been one of our go-to restaurants but unfortunately is fell very short today. We got in early, before the afternoon rush, around 3:45 pm. We were seated quickly in a booth along the front windows and our waitress came over and got us started with cornbread muffins and took our drink order. I did ask for the paper beer list that they always have due to their extensive taps but none were available, a first for me. Neither our waitress or the hostess could explain why they didn't have the normal beer list. I ordered a beer and when asked if I also wanted water like my wife, I said yes. My wife's water showed up almost immediately, mine must have been forgotten but thankfully my beer showed up a short time later. We ordered our dinner, a brisket platter with coleslaw and baked beans and my wife ordered pulled pork. We were one of only two tables in the entire main dining room when we ordered and throughout our meal but waited a surprisingly long time for our food to arrive. When it did arrive, the food looked, smelled and tasted great. The brisket I received was from the tail end of the brisket and was very thin compared to slices from the other end of the brisket I've usually received. I still received the same exact number of smaller slices I usually receive from the bigger end. Not all brisket slices are created equal and today's fell short. My wife used the salt grinder on the table and it was dirty and greasy to the point she had to excuse herself to go wash her hands. While she was gone I noticed the collection of dead flies on the window sill along our booth. Things were just dirty, makes you wonder about cleanliness in areas you can't see as a customer. Although there were a lot of staff in the kitchen and in front of the kitchen none seemed interested in anything but chatting with each other. The exception to that would be our waitress who was very interested in talking to the one other occupied table in the dining room. We had finished dinner and were waiting to pay our bill and get a to-go box for some of the coleslaw. Our waitress was deeply involved in a conversation with the other table and we waited an extended period of time. The multitude of other servers in front of the kitchen had no interest in breaking free to see if we needed anything. Finally our waitress made it back over to our table with the electronic payment machine out, handed it off to me and headed off to find a to-go container, even that seemed to take longer than it should have. Maybe Q-Daddy's is worth a try, maybe they still care and want to prove they want your business and not just ride on prior reputation.
