For the 2025 year, AMC has fufilled the need for movies. Sophia and I usually go to Cinemark near our house, but since I'm an AMC Stubs member, it doesn't hurt to take advantage of offers which reward you $5 off tickets as long as you meet points. Let's see how everything went. The ticket buying process has been very simple: select your movie times online and your tickets will be available for check-in. We were able to attend each show with no problems. From checking out Companion to Avatar Fire and Ash, each movie played well on screen. They did make slight changes to movie previews toward the end of the year and let's hope they continue that this year. No moviegoer deserves to sit through 30 minutes before actual showtimes. But what can you do??? Well, there you have it. 2025 in the books. Let's hope 2026 continues great vibes :) read more

First review of the year!! We went to see SpongeBob! We like the seats at AMC, but to be honest it is the only theater around us. I feel that it's becoming more run down. It doesn't seem as clean. We get popcorn and usually the lids are all out or the napkins...it's a mess at the buttee station...which it was exactly the same way this visit. It's a nice theater, but needs more attention to cleanliness. read more

This is the #1 AMC theater in this region. The concessions are ALWAYS ready when I arrive and the theater is kept CLEAN! When I've visited the Va Beach AMC, the food is NEVER ready on time and the drink area is a disaster.. so I just won't go there. AMC Hampton has an excellent staff. They care, and it shows. read more

We had a great experience with our Grandson. The theatre's were clean and the popcorn was yummy!

First time and pretty good to an average experience. It's a mega theater with 24 screens and a very large parking lot to accommodate large crowds. Parking was not a problem, but I did notice landscaping was not kept up. No debris was noticed in the lot, or walk up. I purchased my ticket at the window. There was only one staff and a long line. Once inside a staff directed me to my theater. I skipped concessions, but noticed a bar. The theater seemed clean and I went to my assigned seat which I torn leather. The chair worked fined and reclined nicely and was comfortable. I viewed the premiere of Twisters which had no issues and I enjoyed. However, a pet peeve is around 30 minutes of previews. I would return, but no rush back and no recommendation. read more

I went to see the marbles with some friends, and the movie theater was absolutely beautiful. There was little direction on where to go, but I was able to do so with a little prodding. We decided to get some food from the concession stand, but there was only one person working at the time. She was warm and friendly and really nice. We got a few concessions but she was very patient. The theatre was very nice and clean. The seats were comfy and they reclined so far. It was very comfortable and spacious. I was delighted that we could choose our own seats. read more

This is my second time visiting the AMC Hampton Town Center 24. Both times were great. The theater rooms are spacious and clean. The staff is very friendly and attentive. I easily purchased my tickets online and was able to scan my QR code upon arrival. It's also cool that you can order food ahead and pick up upon arrival as well. The seats were comfy and clean, which made for a great movie watching experience. The IMAX is a great experience for anyone who hasn't tried it. Overall, this will probably be my go-to theater when I am in town. read more

I love movies and going to the theaters, but this place is expensive, dirty, and has uncomfortable/broken seats. I recently went here to see a new release, and when I arrived at my chosen seats there was popcorn located all throughout the chair and cup holder. I also hate how this place does not have a tray for your snacks. Go to Cinemark... you won't be disappointed. read more

I came here to see the Taylor Swift Era's Tour movie with my daughter on a Friday evening at 6pm. We were a little late getting there so we weren't able to snag a close parking spot. It was pretty packed and so we were left with the back spots. The theater was huge. The sound carried through wonderfully. The theater was very clean. We didn't purchase any drinks or food so I can't speak about this. Next time I'm in the area and want to watch a movie, I'll come here. read more

Went here with my brother and his friends to see the Minecraft movie. We got into the Dolby theater, which was way nicer than all the other ones. The theater was clean but not so much the bathrooms, although they weren't too bad. The prices here for food were exceptionally high so I would definitely recommend sneaking in some snacks and candy. read more

This is my favorite movie theater. I like the spaciousness of it. The reclining seats really add to the comfort of the location as well. I usually bring a blanket and am good to go. I've been here a number of times and I've only had one seat that didn't recline. The movie theater attendant was able to move us to another seat. It would've been difficult if the seats were full, but luckily they weren't on that occasion. The only thing that brings down my vibe here is the price of food and drinks, of course. I know that's where the theater makes their bread and butter but $6 for a 16 oz bottle of water? Please. That's really crazy to me. I'd rather fill up the tiny cups they give you for water 40 times than pay for that. This is something that's an issue at every theater, though. So I guess it's apart of the experience. It has been over a year since I have been to a movie theater... I wonder why? Ha! We moved to VA on military orders during the pandemic... this is still happening. We have been here for 7 months and decided to see if any theaters were open here. Come to find out there was two open. This theatre is operating at a 40% capacity with seats being skipped next to you. We chose a matinee time, and a movie that has been out for a while in hopes that no one else would be around. It was just my family of 4 and a couple in the row in front of us but, all the way to the left. It was GREAT! The staff were all wearing masks and being helpful. It was seriously the most stress free visit to the movies. read more

Very nice sized theater. Fulfilled the prerequisite of having reclining seats. I didn't partake in any concessions because we had just come from lunch at a nearby restaurant. We screened Saw X. The screen was large and clear. The sound was justifiably loud and bonus we practically had the theater to ourselves on a Friday afternoon. Great movie theater. I love that it's almost a standalone theater and not in a mall parking lot. Only issue is the traffic getting to this location with the tunnel construction. Saw The Last Voyage of the Demeter here and loved that the theater has recliner seats like advertised. Be careful I have had issues with AMC theaters claiming to have recliners and they don't. Popcorn was great and I brought my all year refills bucket and got a refill for $5.25. Not a bad deal for a good evening inside in the ac with this heat. read more

I came to see Bad boys 4 and wanted some popcorn. Upon placing my order the associate gave me my tub and I proceeded to walk away I tasted my popcorn and it was stale. I went back and asked for the fresh popcorn that was coming out. I was told yes and before I knew it the associate dumped the fresh popcorn out and mixed the stale and fresh popcorn together and scooped it up. Please taste your popcorn before leaving the counter. read more

I wanted to try the AMC 24 movie theater in Hampton, Va, I thought I would check out "John Wick 3" the Parabellum. Knowing what I know about John Wick movies, I knew there would be an insane number of killings in this 2.5 hour movie. I even attempted to start counting the number of killings from when the movie started to the end.... Unfortunately, I lost count 10 or 15 minutes into the movie. There are so many ways to shoot or kill a person, and I think that's what "J. Wick" movies are all about (and camera angles). Good movie overall, but it did leave me with questions, namely: is his black suit bullet proof? The movie played in the smaller theater but we had plenty of room in our laid back remote recliners. I also decided to get the Nachos instead of a small pop-corn, along with the two packs of heated cheese, that helped the 2 hour movie more relaxing! read more

When it comes to picture and sound quality, this AMC is the best in Hampton Roads. Being a huge film fan, it's worth the drive from Norfolk to screen a new release here. On top of that, this AMC offers reserved seating so you don't have to rush to be the first one there. And the seats recline, which is fantastic since they're also plush and comfy. I think this one is maintained better than AMC Lynnhaven but Hampton has security at night, which is worrisome. But as many times as I've visited I've never witnessed anything illegal or out of the ordinary. And for anyone who'd like to have a drink before the show, they have a bar (so does Lynnhaven). I like having that option although I don't drink much. Overall, this is a great place to watch movies. I only wish it were closer but I don't mind the drive if I know I'm going to be at a quality place. JV read more

Ok, there's no denying the cinema theaters are awesome in here. The comfy reclining seats, the space in between you and other guests is generous, the screens are well kept - these are just a couple of great things about AMC Hampton. We watched (nerd alert) Star Wars: The Last Jedi in the Dolby Cinema room and we were not disappointed. The classic Dolby sound delivered. The 3D and IMAX here at AMC are also great and you do feel like you're getting your monies worth (as long as the film doesn't suck...) toilets are usually relatively clean, and the bar is a nice touch, albeit an expensive one... The reason why AMC won't get 5 stars from me, is the price of a packet of junior mints. $5.25. If we're being honest, all their food and drinks are priced excessively, I can't see past it! read more

I have been to this theater many times. I like being able to pre-purchase my seats online avoiding long lines at the door. This theater has always been clean and pretty quick in the concession lines. I love the red reclining seats! I also really love the icee's and butter station to make your popcorn even more buttery. I frequent this theater quiet often. The parking is usually packed so make sure to show up a little bit before your movie time to be able to park and actually stop at the concession area. This theater is large, there are several bathrooms and exits so you don't feel like your just smushed into an area. Will continue to come come to this theater. Great job! read more

So hands down one of the biggest movie theaters in the area. And one of my favorites also. I gave it 4 stars for a few minor things. I went to the bathroom on 2 different occasions once by the concessions entrance, the other on the way out. Very clean bathrooms with the exception of the Dyson airblade hand dry. You Can see crusty wet residue, at the bottom of the unit in bathrooms. I took a paper towel to make sure I wasn't loosing it, and it easily came up. Also the Macguffins bar was closed but I think this is due to covid staffing, which all businesses are going thru. The chair in my seating row wouldn't recline due to it being the only one unplugged. Easily fixed but still Other than that this theater was great. Paid 24 bucks for two tickets, to a horror/suspense called the 'The Night House'. read more

We were seeing the new Inside/Out movie on Thursday evening and us and another couple sitting in the top row in theater 11 saw a rather large cockroach crawl in between the seats that were in between us. When we all went to guest services the manager went up flipped two of the recliners and then said "we're in the clear". Yes because that's going to solve the issue. Their only solution for all of us was no refund and simply to move us to different seats. Unclean theater, no effort in management to actually accommodate guests. Get your seats early and everything is fine!! If you have a large party you'd really want to get your seats in advance. The chairs here are great because they are very comfortable and recline back! Popcorn made here is as if it was made from the Gods and the actual theaters are very large with amazing surround sound. I really like this theater because they have a full bar! I also love the comfort of the seats in the theater. As advertised they have 24 screens. I love that the theater selection is diverse. You can go see a feature film in one of the bigger theaters or catch an independent film AMC is showing in one of the smaller theaters on the couch. I knocked a star off because they have the worst nacho cheese I've ever tasted. I had never really even thought about what the worst would be until I had there's. Nice place to see a movie. Feels new and pretty well kept up. Reserved seating is great. Love the A-List subscription program. The biggest downside is that the Coke Freestyle machines and concessions are located in the lobby, which can be a mile from your theater - not convenient. Ok let me say that this is the fanciest AMC Movie Theater that I've ever been too!! I'm so jealous that they don't have one like this near me in the Baltimore Area. It's so clean and nice! I mean like they have benches in the bathroom! I walked in and I was like WOW! This is so NICE! But the whole experience was cool. Easy concession line experience. Clean theater with comfortable heated (if you want) seats and nice carpeted floors. I really can't find anything bad to say about the place. I even went to to the bathroom all the way on the other side of the theater to see if they had benches in the bathroom. Lol. And yup they did! Lol. Love this AMC location. My first time at this theater. If you've read my movie reviews, you know I love to go to the first movie even before the pandemic. My grandson wanted to see Sing 2. I think I enjoyed the movie more than he did. The theater was clean and I loved the reclining seats. The refreshments are above my budget so we grabbed lunch after the movie. read more

I'm still at a solid 3 stars for this AMC location. I went to see Rocketman this past holiday weekend and they've definitely made some improvements, but I still don't like it as much as other theaters in the area. First up, the seats -- they are now bright red and reclining, with plenty of space. They aren't the *most* comfortable I've experienced, but they're fine. Second, because the location has 24 screens, you are more likely to be able to catch something that is less popular or something you missed that opened several weeks ago. Third, they have finally gotten on board with the alcoholic beverage option -- there's a McGuffin's bar where you can get INCREDIBLY over-priced drinks. My glass of white wine was $15 (which was more than my movie ticket!) just to give you a heads up. As others have already mentioned, the snack bar items are also amazingly over-priced. But it is what it is. So if you're looking for a way to beat the heat this summer, you could easily do it here for a few hours. read more

Went to see Baby Driver in their Dolby Cinema theatre. It was unbearably loud!!! Don't get me wrong, the whole movie wasn't awfully loud, but the action scenes were about 60% bass and 230% treble. The treble was cutting my ear drums to the point where I had to cover my ears every action scene almost. The particular movie I saw was big on the soundtrack and the movie lining up with the action scenes. The bass was amazing in the theatre, but paired with the treble it was definitely not a pleasant experience. The recliners in the Dolby Cinema screen didn't go back as far as I would have liked. I felt like it was a slight recline instead of a full one, and my shoes were hitting the wall in front of me the whole time (I'm only 5'10"). That being said, the theatre itself is great. I've been going here for years. It's my go-to theatre around the area. Very clean and well managed. If you need help you will definitely get it. Will absolutely be back, but I'll skip out on paying the extra $5 for Dolby Cinema. read more

I don't go to the movies very often, but any time that I have, the place is usually well kept... especially over the weekend. My daughter and I showed up here at 12:15 for a 12:55 movie, just in case the theater was busy. It was actually the opposite, yet we walk through the doors to get some popcorn and a drink and there's trash all over the floor in front of the cashier's stand. Go to get our drink and they are out of just about everything, including ice. I suppose I could have gotten some ice if I wanted to use what was all over the floor. Of course we get into the theater and they've got recliners. Great. Not sure though how I'm to feel comfortable sitting in these seats after I'd just walked in from the lobby.
