This is the location that my family has gone to many many times and it is comfortable with the reclining chairs but is expensive like any other place that you're gonna go to the movies that isn't on a military installation. We have several people in between the cost of tickets and all of the refreshments it can set you back a little bit. The staff is helpful, but sometimes it does take quite a while to get through the line. I always try to pay attention if there are limited releases coming out and get there a little bit early. It's a fun way to spend the afternoon or an evening out. This location is clean and not as overrun and crazy busy as some other locations. I prefer it over going to VB or chesapeake. read more

I discovered that one of my all-time favorite films, Lost In Translation, was playing at the Regal Harbour View. Having never screened Lost on a big screen, I jumped at the chance to finally check out Suffolk's Regal while seeing one of (imo) cinema's great films about love, loneliness, and longing. I grabbed a ticket via the Regal app - a simple process that takes little time to complete. For me, the toughest part about driving out to Regal Harbour View is it's far... real far... with tolls (I'm coming from Norfolk). At the same time, I got stuck at the Downtown Tunnel (bridge lift), which almost kept me from arriving on time. Harbour View may be the nicest Regal in the area. It originally opened in November 2000 as a part of the Consolidated Theaters company and didn't officially become a Regal until 2008 (Regal acquired Consolidated Theaters). Based on that timeline, you can tell by glancing at the lobby that its design and architecture is not a Regal concept. That's actually a good thing because the lobby, despite being a little cramped, looks cozy and welcoming. I was greeted quickly upon entering - the ticket taker scanned my ticket on my phone and informed me which theater to go and where it was located. I decided to pick up some snacks and the employee there was just as pleasant and friendly. The theater where I saw Lost looked exactly like a theater at the Regal Strawbridge. I'm assuming there were some renovations made to the theaters themselves, because this specific theater looked brand new. There were 3 other moviegoers in the theater with me. I absolutely loved seeing Lost in Translation on a big screen and enjoyed this experience at this Regal. I hope to visit again soon, despite this location being quite the trip. My last two visits: I decided to try the bacon cheese fries along with popcorn and a drink, since their menu just expanded a lot. The fries were amazing. Upon seeing I didn't have a way to carry everything, the manager personally helped me to my seat carrying my drink for me. On my last visit after seeing Hail Mary, I saw him again and we had a long talk with another customer about the movie and how we liked it. I didn't know who the other customer was but it was awesome that the managers took time to talk movies with us for a good 20 minutes. That's what it means to be a business that cares and connects with customers. A++++ read more

My family has been here a few times and we've enjoyed each time we've come. The reclining seats are pretty great and the popcorn is always hot and buttery. The customer service could be improved but the concession line does seem to move quickly which is nice if you're running a little behind. We really enjoy all the merch regal has for new movies. We're new to the area and tried out Regal but we were disappointed in the quality of the theater and lobby. There was popcorn all over the lobby and hall floors, food left in seats from previous shows and there's not a huge drink selection. Our large popcorn was mostly crumbs and stale. I don't like that the railing on the different seat levels impedes the view of the whole theater screen when the chair is any other position than upright. I loved the reclining seats. We got our tickets at the kiosk. That was new for us but simple enough. I did get a small popcorn and M&M's and the price was outrageous. We came here to see Captain Marvel, and it was just alright for me. First tip - buy tickets online ahead of time. By the time we arrived (a good 45 minutes before the film was supposed to start), there were literally no seats left in the theatre except the first row. And the first row is REALLY close to the screen. So close that it basically was going to give me a migraine. Luckily, there were two random seats in different back rows -- we selected those, and then one of the other patrons kindly agreed to switch spots with us so we could sit together. That put us in the very back row, which was fine. The exterior of the theatre is super cute -- this area is really nice, and there are plenty of places to go after the film nearby if you want a bite to eat. Once you get in the theatre, the seats are comfy and recline, so that's a perk. For whatever reason, there is basically a steel barricade between each of the rows -- I guess so people don't fall on the next row? But it's super annoying if you recline because then the top of the barricade actually blocks the bottom part of the screen of the film. Maybe this isn't an issue in rows that are close to the screen, but for the back row, it was definitely an issue. The sound quality was good and overall, it was an A-OK theatre experience. Getting the Regal Unlimited was either the best or the worst thing I've done. I find myself here at least once a week for the past year, sometimes doing two-three screenings in a single day. I looooove me some movies. I was worried that this particular theatre was not going to make it through 2021, but they did a decent reconstruct of the place and honestly it's my favorite regal in the Hampton Roads area. I personally enjoy the railings that they put up because it feels like you have more space. The reclining seats aren't cloud level, but they're comfortable enough to enjoy even a 3 hour movie in. And the theatre is rarely packed- I can't speak much on new new blockbuster releases because I'll usually wait a week or so to see them, but my usual experience is that there are maybe a max of 5 people including myself. Off peak times are the BEST. The staff is chill. They're always helpful and the very few times I've had issues, they were resolved quickly and without any friction. The theatre is nothing fancy, but they keep it pretty clean. Parking lot is pretty dim at night. Have seen broken glass a handful of times. My major, number one, ultimate gripe though is THIS. The reason why I cannot possibly give this Regal (or maybe any Regal?) a solid 5 star rating. THE POPCORN IS TRASH. When I tell you, I LIVE for popcorn at the movies. They go together like peanut butter and jelly. One seems incomplete without the other. I am THAT person that orders a bucket for me, myself, and I. And finish it during the credits- which, are typically like 30 minutes long, so? The popcorn here is almost never fresh. I say almost never, because in the 50+ visits I've had, I've gotten fresh popcorn twice, and even a broken clock is accurate twice a day. But let me tell you, the freshness doesn't matter much because it is STILL not good. It is way too salty, lacks flavor, and it is dryyyyyy. Don't come for me and tell me that I need to add butter. NO. Good, flavorful, not dry popcorn is 100% possible without adding flavor oil. Ick. Regal. Please consider changing your supplier/popcorn machines/whatever it is that has you insulting your customers' wallets charging $10+ for a bucket of over salted packing peanuts. I know it's possible. Alamo Drafthouse and Landmark theatres have incredible popcorn. But I bought my last ever popcorn from this Regal because I have a few shreds of self worth. I'm still gonna go to this theatre. It's close and I enjoy it. But skip the concessions (at least the 'popcorn'). Not worth it. read more

This is my favorite theater in the 757. I like the reclining seats. They are great for people who need to keep their legs raised. As a disabled person, they really work for me. The theater is always very clean - including the restrooms. The staff is always courteous. However, I do have one complaint. Prior to Covid this theater had a couple benches and a few tables with chairs in the lobby. These were terrific for a disabled person. They offered a place to sit after the long walk in from the parking lot before embarking on the long walk to the proper theater. They were also a good place to sit and wait for my movie companion to bring the car to pick me up outside. They have handicapped parking spaces in the parking lot, ramps in the individual theaters for those challenged by stairs or using wheel chairs and every theater has a handicapped section to accommodate wheel chairs and walkers. They used to also have this seating opportunity available in the lobby but made a change during the pandemic. Clearly, this is a slip-up. It needs to be fixed. Please! read more

This theater is just what you'd expect. There are decent reclining seats that are a little too hard but tolerable. Of course the concessions have credit apps or they should lol. $8 for a large drink, that you have to wait for 15 minutes to get. But that is what we allow by paying 8 buck... The spaces are pretty clean, dont stink and its a nice enough atmosphere. You don't feel like you just walked into lord of the flys. They have beer and wine that you will have to drink out of crappy plastic cups and the other expected fare. They have an icee machine but theres no one there that knows how to make it go. Often the staff are stuck in slo-mo. Get there early enough to get your concessions and life will be good. Oh yeah, 22 minutes of previews. Ok the last few times here have been less than stellar. Ridiculous concession at regal is becoming the norm. 730 Saturday 3 registers open. Regal's new motto is screw you you'll pay 8 bucks for a drink and you will wait 40 minutes to do it. I've been to Regal Cinemas Harbour View Grande 16 (RC) several times over the past five years that I've been living in Suffolk. However, I guess it had been a while since they've added their king-size recliners and reserved seating. On Monday, I took my boys to see Star Wars, but they were sold out for the next two showings. We decided to pay for our tickets on Tuesday and come back the next day. The young man at the ticket window was extremely patient with me and polite. At first, I didn't like the idea of reserved seating. I'm someone who always gets to the theater very early and never has a problem finding a seat. But, since we already had our tickets, we were able to arrive a bit later than normal. Their Value Tuesdays are quite affordable as tickets are only $5.49 all day. What a steal! You can buy tickets online and pick your seats from the comfort of your home. The biggest surprise was the recliners and the set-up inside the theater. The recliners themselves are spacious and comfortable; with the push of a button, you can change the position you want. You could even lie back and take a nap if you wanted. There were no chairs in front or behind me--there is a partition separating the rows and so much space! I am easily distracted during movies so I was thrilled with the new décor. We felt like we were in our home watching a movie and I really couldn't hear from people whispering around me. The only negative I have is that my cup holder by my seat was kind of greasy and dirty. I wasn't using it anyway, but still. I'm sure it's difficult to get every seat and cup holder clean between showings. I'm not sure if there is anything they can do about it--we all know that some people are slobs and won't pick up after themselves. I'm sure they do a more thorough cleaning when the day is over. However for those who are not aware, let me remind you that when you buy your tickets on line, be sure to make sure its an actual SEAT! What do you mean you ask? Well the show Black Panther was sold out, and this poor father and his three kids came in looking for their seats. He unfortunately purchased handicap "spaces", meaning that there were NO SEATS, just a spot for a wheel chair. His children sat right there on the floor because those were the spots he purchased. Most embarrassing for the early teens, but what could he do? I think as a result that the theater should have some standby recliners on wheels to make the best of the theater? To be honest, this was great. I usually go to the cinema cafe in Edinburgh but I wanted to try something different and closer. Unlike other theaters, this one has seats in the middle of all isles so you can see the movie better. I am used to ordering food while sitting and they bring it to you, but It was ok. The only down is the food is too much. I packed 41.38 for 3 large drinks and a pack of candy. At cinema cafe you can get a pitcher of drink of your choosing, chicken, and so much more for 40. It seems like Tuesday is a great day to see a movie here. There was no wait at the ticket booth or concession stand. There Are so many options for food. Choose from nachos pizza popcorn hot dogs or candy. They are now serving wine!!! I got the best buttery popcorn. The staff was prompt and polite. I was able to choose perfect seats at the ticket window, I will be downloading the Fandango app. You can purchase tickets and reserve seats ahead of time. The theater itself is very comfy and clean, the chairs are plush automatically recline. You can easily catch a nap here. I always enjoy myself here. My kids and i went yesterday to see scary stories told in the dark. Which was a great movie! We ended up going to a matinee. I figured it wouldn't be as busy on a Friday afternoon, which was true. The only problem is when you get a group of unsupervised pre-teens that take your seats and give you attitude like you're the one wrong..... luckily the theater wasn't crowded so we just sat somewhere else. The only downfall i would say is that even though they have comfy reclining chairs.... this was my second visit here that my seat was broken. So we had to move again. My family and I have been going here for years. This is a really nice movie theater. A little more expensive than Chesapeake Square, but for good reason. The seats are super comfy. They recline and are huge! A lot of space for you to get to your seat. Two things it needs...vibrating seats and the arm rest to go up so you can snuggle with your loved one. The movie theater has extremely slow service ESPECIALLY the concession stand. The people behind the counter moved about the pace of a snail. We got to our seats and 1 of the seats did not recline on course. Instead of just reissuing seats the girl had to come and check the seat and reset it. Next time we will pass this theater and go to cinemark or AMC. The only plus to this theater is the wide aisles. Also the popcorn taste like it is shipped in premade. I visited this venue yesterday around 4pm and there was no wait!! I even had movie passes I thought I could not use on a newly released movie, but the vendor accepted the passes without question. The theatre was clean. I visited the restroom and some of the stalls were out of toilet tissue. Not sure how often someone comes to check them, but overall it was clean. The popcorn was yummy (I ate it all)!! The nachos and dip...ummmm just ok. I like a certain kick to my dip and this had none whatsoever! While I enjoy viewing movies at Regal, be aware that on Sunday mornings a church holds services here. The problem lies with the fact that Regal management also schedules movies in the same theater within a 15 minute window of the church service! It was a mad dash for those folks to clear out their equipment and themselves before the movie started. Regal ends up making their movie patrons the motivator that pushes out the church! Why not cancel the movie that is scheduled directly after the church and give these folks adequate time to move their stuff? I'll go back to Regal, but like the song says "never on a Sunday". read more

I actually really liked this theater. Saw Doctor Strange here in theater 11 on Friday night, date night, and had a meal at The Egg Bistro right next door. Plenty of parking, a new clean shopping center with lots of food and shopping in Harbour Pointe. The theater was neat and tidy, well maintained, and the space between the rows was HUGE. My boyfriend got a large soda and we walked right up, paid, and walked right into the theater to our seats. There were probably only about 15 people in the theater on a Friday night at 8pm. The space away from the rows was my favorite part --- it's not even a remote possibility someone is going to bump you or put their feet on your feet - only someone 9 feet tall could reach. I guess I am now at the age where I will not go to a movie unless it is a matinee. It just seems too expensive, especially when you have kids. I have been here numerous times and I think the matinee price is $6. I also dont see the allure of going to a 3D movie either. They tend to make me motion sick. I took the kids to see the Hobbit. The theatre is still in decent shape, even though Harbour View is starting to get a little long in the tooth for movie theater standards. My son has a hard time with the big seats, but he doesnt want the booster. It is almost like he gets swallowed up by the seats. The sound is decent, the seats are in good shape (lift up and have cup holders), and I have no complaints ........except......The movie trailers have gotten out of control. Along with the ads against cell phones and for concessions, you can now count on at least 5 movie trailers. I remember a day when you might get two trailers and that was it. Now you have to sit through some trailers, that might be questionable if you have young kids with you for a movie such as The Hobbit and they take at least 15 minutes to get through. Uggghhh. So they've started reserve seating. I can't tell you how happy I am they are doing this. Hopefully they allow you to do it online. I also don't know if it's for every movie it just for the big premiers. It will make it much easier. You don't have to send your date in to look for seats while you are in kind trying to carry all the snack by yourself. Think about it. Another customer complained about two chairs not working and he took his anger out on him so much that the customer apologized for bothering him. My movie started at 4:30 and I got in the line at 4:20 and didn't get any snacks in time. Poor customer service to say the least. read more
