    Wings
    Amy M.

Honestly came here for the wings lol. It's a Local dive bar. There are TVs for news and games. Age demographic can range from 30s-late 60s. Drinks may be served in the red solo cup bringing back memories to your college days;) The waitress/bartender is nice, but remember to be patient as it could only be her, and one other person manning the bar and tables. The wings were freshly fried, and tossed with buffalo sauce. My preference would be to fry it a bit longer for crispier wings as the sauce can make the skin soggy. In addition to the wings, I ordered the steamed shrimp. The sides were standard. It was crinkle fries and coleslaw. The hubs had the ground steak with sides of mash and corn. The menu is what is expected for a dive bar. It's nothing fancy. A place to come with friends, and have conversation while watching the game. :)

Cool little dive bar- I went on Saturday of Halloween 2023 and they had karaoke, a full bar, a full kitchen (until about midnight, I think), and Josh himself was DJ-ing very well! My nachos were very good and I told the bartender I didn't drink alcohol right now, so she made me a soda water with lemon & lime (I was just missing the tequila that I normally would also add). I appreciated her willingness to serve my special drink and the lack of judgement (I've heard of bartenders being judgemental or harsh towards sober people). When I go again, I will be ordering the nachos- they were that good! They also have a cool outdoor space with tables & a huge yard. Honestly, it would make a good venue for an outdoor wedding or big birthday party! Don't look past it, if they're open to host something like that.

There is no other local place like Josh's! It can be busy on Friday and Saturdays because the locals know where to go. The food is always good, and you can't beat the prices or the portions. Friday almost always has a live band. It's definitely worth your time!

    Huge burgers

Stopped in for a burger based on the Yelp reviews, since we were in the area. It's a decent sized place with pool tables, electronic darts and lots of TVs. I imagine it can get pretty busy on a weekend night and it is definitely a locals dive bar kind of place. We were there for a late lunch, so it was pretty empty. The bar tender was working by herself and she cooked our food. She was super friendly. The burgers are HUGE, so it's a good value for the money - they are served with a big pile of crinkle cut fries. I wasn't a fan of the seasoning on the burger (I'm a purist), and they were a little over for my taste. This looks like a good neighborhood hang out if you're looking to get your pitcher of beer on and eat standard bar fare.

Parts were good: burger price and flavor, portion sizes of burgers, sides and toppings. Needs improvement: wait staff isn't very attentive. We weren't asked how we wanted burger temp (medium/rare/etc) and didn't get tomato on any of our sandwiches/burgers. The chicken sandwich is tenders which was unexpected (though it'd be a breast). We were seated without any menus and had to ask for them. Not my type of place so I wouldn't go back but it is 4 min from my house so I figured we should try it. If you like cheap food at a sport bar and aren't picky about your service, go for it. Seems like a place for locals. I'm new to the area.

    MAYO YUCK!

Oftentimes I'll order a cheeseburger and fries to go after work on Fridays. After reading the reviews and seeing the cheap prices I decided to order from here. I requested no grilled and buttered bun as well as lettuce, tomato, and onion only, (I HATE mayo on sandwiches!). When I arrived and after parking my car I approached the front door and almost turned around. Can you say eyesore? But I was hungry so I went in and whelp, the interior wasn't much better than that door! The lady who took my order was nice on the phone as well as in person. So I get home and unveil the hope to be masterpiece burger and guess what? MAYO YUCK!!!

At first I was hesitant of even entering this Bar & Grill because the door was sketchy (no windows completely wood) and it seemed like nobody was walking in and out. But I gathered myself together and entered into one of the most laid back and chill bar I've ever been. From observation alone I could tell that this place is family owned (which is a plus in my books) and they attract all different type of demographic (which is another plus). I loved the vibes in this place. My husband and I ordered a long island iced tea, one of the best I've had in my life. The bar tender really knows how to mix up drinks. I got a pastrami sandwich with mozzarella sticks, my husband got a burger and we ordered steamed shrimp with butter because on Wednesdays they have shrimp for $0.50. Everything tasted great. They were very generous with the pastrami! My bread was perfectly toasted. The parking lot is a good size but I'm sure it could get crowded during weekends, or when a game comes on. They have pool tables and some arcade games as well. I also like that fact that they are opened 365 days a year. I will definitely come back to this bar just because the experience was awesome and the food was served up to match how awesome the experience was.

It's high-end, which I barely touch due to pricing, but it does not hurt to try something new. Let's see how the evening went. After our entire party arrived, we were all promptly seated. Inside, the decor is perfect. From the bar to the dining area, everything was spotless. You can tell the staff really cares about keeping the place tidy. And they had New Orleans-style music playing through the sound system. Very relaxing. After looking through the menu, I was ready to place my order. I chose their fish special, which was salmon with veggies and a sauce (forgot the name). This dish was very good. It was probably the best cooked salmon I've ever had. When you see seafood with the perfect crust and a lot of flavor, you're in heaven. It did have a small bone and I felt it lacked the amount of squash and zucchini, but again, a wonderful meal. There was one situation which resulted in only a 4-star review. Out of curiousity, I saw on Facebook that they offered $5 discounts. I did let my party know and we were all ready to use them when the bill was ready. But the staff told us the discount was to be used on a table rather than an individual ticket. When we looked both on Facebook and our personal emails, none of that verbage was mentioned. Not trying to sound harsh, but please be sure to state every detail foe customers. We do want to find ways to save some cash out of our wallets. Except for the discount mishap, the visit turned out well. I can say I'll be back to give them anothee go-around. Till next time :)

It's just a horrible experience as is. They need to go to Precarious and see how they do it. Their food is generally good to great. They have a $5 before 5 app and drink special menu that is a really good deal. Nice spot for adults to have some drinks. Just be patient as service is generally slow. Now onto my recent experience.... I suggested it to some friends who wanted to grab some beers on MLK day which was a Monday. There were 4 of us guys and 7 kids. It's a lot. I get it. They weren't overly busy. Maybe a quarter full. I tried to keep the kids away from other tables by giving them boundaries. They were not happy with us. They didn't like the kids being outside in their patio (freezing, no one out there) etc. The one server was getting destroyed. She had just like 6 tables, but a 16 top. I felt badly for her. Our drinks correspondingly took about 20-30 minutes each time we tried to order. She was nice when she could get to us. At one point a person who said they were a manager, I think she said her name was Hannah, came over and said the kids couldn't be going around (again, I had boundaries not by any other patrons etc. from what I could see they were honoring them, but who knows), anyway she asked if we could keep them by us, which is fine. I then asked her if I could put in a beer and app order as I had been waiting for our server with an empty beer for at least 20 minutes. Instead of taking the order and ringing it in, she said she'd send the server over and disappeared never to be seen again. 5 minutes Iater the server was able to get free from her big table and get our beer orders and food in. Several items were forgot, but at this point we were kind of over it. Just not really your typical relaxed brewery vibe. Felt like they wanted it to be more of a sit down restaurant. That big long story to say it's not a spot for kids. Overall food and drinks are solid. Beer is solidly middle of the pack for Peninsula. Management needs some work.

Every time the service has been superb and the staff go out of their way to make you feel welcomed. A Hidden Gem in Hampton - Mill Creek Tavern Delivers Every Time!…read more Mill Creek Tavern is one of those amazing local spots that makes you feel like you're in on a best-kept secret. No frills, no fluff -- just great food, cold beer, and genuinely friendly service. The vibe is relaxed and welcoming, with one pool table, a few big TVs for the game, and a small bar top that gives it that classic neighborhood feel. On our most recent visit, my friend and I both went with the special: country fried steak with okra and lima beans -- absolutely delicious. You can mix and match sides, and my friend's pasta salad was clearly homemade, perfectly balanced and not drowning in mayo. The beer was ice cold, and the food came out fast. Service was excellent -- friendly, efficient, and we had multiple check-ins throughout the meal without ever feeling rushed. Their burger menu is another highlight (I've had a few over the years -- always solid), and the back patio is a great touch. Covered seating with umbrellas makes it easy to enjoy rain or shine. Parking is a bit limited, but there's usually space around back near the patio if you loop around the building. Sure, walking in might feel a little intimidating if you're not a regular -- it's a cozy, no-nonsense spot -- but inside, it's as friendly and down-to-earth as it gets. Don't miss out on this local treasure. Go once, and you'll see why so many keep coming back!
