I came again on a Sunday night cause their wings were "that good" before. This time I brought some new friends here to put them on to this establishment. Well, just like my previous visit, the service wasn't good.... Honestly, the bartender seemed to be deliberately ignoring us. He was more focused on "his boys". We witnessed a couple other people get the menu and leave because service was that slow smh... But, we patiently waited because we were hungry and I told my friends this restaurant has the "best wings in Hampton"! It took almost 30minutes of us standing there for him to finally get to us so we could order our drinks. Our drink order got messed up, our wing order got entirely messed up, and our bill got messed up. To be fair, I witnessed someone else complaining about their messed up bill too so at least I know he wasn't just targeting us... He just didn't know what the hell he was doing.. The music was dope (maybe a little too loud, but whatever), the DJ was excellent, and once again, THE BEST WINGS IN HAMPTON! Now, with that being said, I had to deduct another star because the service was that bad... Once they fix their service, I honestly think this place would be a gem! This was my first time going here and i was honestly surprised. The restaurant is way bigger inside than what it appears. It also has a fairly nice sized patio in the back. They do allow smoking on the patio so if you don't like smoke, you may not want to sit back there. The service was pretty good. For our waiter to be the only one in the restaurant at that time, he was pretty attentive. I haven't seen any other sit in restaurants in the area serve fried crabs so that is cool. They put their own sauce inside and the batter has some spice to it. I wish the batter was a little thicker but it still got the job done. The fries were good and nicely seasoned. This is a cool little spot near Buckroe Beach. They have music playing, and TVs are on so you can watch the games. They have an outdoor area in the back with heaters. The service was good. The food was good. I tried the fish sandwich and fries. I also had a side of cabbage, which was really tasty. The fish was cooked perfectly, crisp but not dried out. The fried oysters were good too. The wings had good flavor. They have a different food special each night. I'll have to go back on Sunday and try some soul food. read more

This is one of those spots that you're not sure you want to go in. We looked for reviews, they were hard to find. Walked in and no one was in there so I asked if they're open. Blue crab was advertised out front. That's what initially piqued my interest. We almost went with poor man's surf and turf...a burger and a fish sandwich. I was leaning towards the blue crab cake sandwich. Got the crab cake and catfish sandwich. The food was out in ten minutes or less. The fries were seasoned with a Cajun seasoning and also the tartar sauce. They gave us ketchup, hot sauce and tartar with our sandwiches. They were too hot to eat upon first bite! Saturday 5/22/21 LOCATION: Closest sit down restaurant to beach! DINNER: I'm going to be forgiving because a year ago everything was shut down because of the Covid pandemic. Now today everyone is acting like it's July 4th weekend-- get your vax! We have come so far in a year. I realize restaurants are opening up and filling up with new staff. I would give them a 2-3 star if it was Normal World, but it's not. I came with my hub and 2 sons. The wait for food was AN HOUR. From ordering to my table, AN HOUR. OMG. Not even exaggerating, but a full hour. The restaurant wasn't full enough to explain the wait for food. The waitress was sooo very apologetic, so I did appreciate that. She explained the normal cook called out sick. The explanation was helpful because I would've up and left. An hour is a long time with a toddler. We kept him busy with snackies. I wish she had brought out the fries from our orders as an "appetizer". I only thought to ask for that when we were close to our hour mark and then our food ended up coming out. When the food did come out, it was amazing. I got fish and chips. Crispy, buttery, and a rich portion of fish. My older son got clam chowder and literally slurped the bowl. They were out of wings due to the national chicken shortage, so my hub got a burger. He ordered medium and it did come out well which is a another problem. Hidden Gem in the Phoebus area**** If you're looking for a Black owned business to support, this is definitely the spot! As soon as I walked in, the DJ had my group and I ready to dance! Great atmosphere and very friendly staff. Plus, the heated patio is great if you want to step away for a moment. The only reason why I rate this business 4/5 is because of their VERY limited menu . Once I saw the menu I was kinda disappointed for sure. But the drinks were something serious!!!! I had the rum punch and the jolly rancher drink and the bartender was generous with the liquor! Spotted this restaurant while headed home one day and decided to check it out since it was so close to home. My husband and I arrived around 8pm. There wasn't many people so we had a look around. This place is much bigger than it looks. There is plenty of inside seating, a bar area, and outdoor seating. Smoking is allowed outside. The chairs are sofa type- more relaxed feel. We decided to eat inside. Our server, Deja, was fantastic. We ordered appetizers and drinks and then our meals. The seafood platter was fresh, seasoned and fried perfectly. My husband got a gyro but I didn't get a picture before he dug in. There was music playing. It was loud but didn't disrupt our vibe. If you're looking to talk I would recommend sitting outside. The music was quieter. After our food we headed to the bar for shots. They have a great tequila supply. Plenty of options to choose from. I'm sure later at night it'll pick up and have more of a club/lounge vibe. Deja, our server, said more people come by during the summer. It's a short walk from buckroe beach park. Awesome atmosphere! Very inviting, live bands on Wednesday night but of course I came on a Sunday this time. I had the Beach Balls (crab balls) the greatest. Barely any filler, a lot of crab cooked to perfection. I also had Deep Sea Fish which is fried Catfish as a sandwich with slaw & fries. It was perfectly cooked fried to perfection. The tea was also great. It wasn't over or under sweetened. It was great!! I definitely recommend this restaurant which is in a great location of the beach. Come See for yourself! We passed by this little restaurant on our way back from Buckroe Beach, we gave it a try, and we were not impressed. Service was ok. The waitress checked on us twice. Food was too expensive for the quality served. We ordered calamari for appetizer, 3 burgers(2 with onion rings), and an order of popcorn shrimp. The calamari was not fresh like the menu stated. 2 out of the 3 burgers came out, and the last one came out after we were all done eating. Also, they were out of onion rings. The waitress did come and apologize and brought an extra plate of popcorn shrimp for my daughter to eat while we waited for the burger. For sure we will not be back. read more

Tonight we went to coasters for trivia night. We had never been before and we were looking for something fun to do on a Monday. It was our first time. Atmosphere was fun, energetic very family friendly. The bartender was fun, the DJ is very friendly and helpful. To play trivia you download an app and answer the questions on your phone. It was hard! I stopped in last Tuesday with a friend. We ordered crab balls and shrimp for her and a crab cake sandwich for me. The server returns and tells us they are out of crab balls due to an event the previous night. No problem, my friend asks for a plain crab cake. At some point, the food comes minus my sandwich. It was clearly missed but I am told it will be right out. So, I wait while my friend finishes her food. After an hour, we ask if we can get the sandwich to go. Well...this is certainly beach food. We ordered food for the family to go, and got fried seafood all around. Husband got the catfish sandwich and onion rings and really enjoyed it. My 1.5yo and 5yo both got fish nuggets and fries. The fries were too spicy for either of them (old bay! I ate them!) and my toddler (not my big kid) dug into the nuggets, which seemed like nice big pieces of fish. Downside of the meal was my shrimp po' boy. It had a total of three shrimp! I went back in and asked if there were normally so few shrimp for that price. They said "Yep!" and walked away. Thankfully I had some of my kids' fish nuggets to add to the sandwich. So I walked from the beach. Here was my experience: - Smells bad when you walk in. - The oysters - something was wrong and funky with them. Manager explained by saying she doesn't like or know much about oysters. - Ordered food. Waited for over an hour and nothing ever came. - A group of rowdy cyclists came in and quickly got super drunk and loud. And were hugging on & kissing my girlfriend. Still no food. Finally after nearly 1 hour, 20 minutes, I paid for our drinks and left. Manager was paid & notified and all she had to say was, "Okay." I looked up Fuller's Raw Bar. Plus, they have a bar which was perfect because there are not many places like this in the area and I was in the mood for a beer. The service was good but the food and price of the beer were very disappointing. The beer was $10 for one 16 ounce beer! I think this is ridiculous! That is close to airport beer prices! There is no reason for charging so much for a regular beer which was not even filled all the way! We ordered the nachos as an appetizer. They truly had potential but were ruined by a mysterious white sauce and an obscene amount of diced onions!!!! The onions were so overwhelming we could not eat them after a few bites! Like I said, the nachos had potential minus the white sauce and add the right cheese....shredded cheese. The tacos I ordered were also ruined by the overwhelming amount of onions and was missing the cilantro, lime/lemon, pico de Gallo or salsa. In addition, for some reason they thought it was ok to use cube mozzarella cheese in the tacos!? My sons burger which he ordered medium was more like well-done and very dry! The one good thing was the fish and chips. It was very tasty! I might give this place another try but I hesitate because even though I know now to ask for onions on the side I am not sure I can bring myself to pay $10 for one beer! This restaurant needs some help The nachos we had we're not like the ones we had the first time we visited. The first time we had the beef nachos the lettuce was fresh and crispy had fresh diced tomatoes and just enough drizzle of cheese. This time it was like jarred salsa dumped on top of the beef with way to much cheese and sour cream it was a very mushy dish not the same very inconsistent.
