I have had Marissa's bakery bread since I was a baby, not joking. This bakery has a long history in the whittier neighborhood and with it, a great trajectory of delicious, fresh and scrumptious bread. When asked about Mexican bakeries, this is my favorite in all of Minnesota. As you walk in, you're greeted with a sweet bread scent that will make you feel in pan dulce paradise. Bread is baked daily and it is always fresh. My favorite pan are the conchas, they're not thick and hard like most bakeries around town. These are soft, sweet and just perfect to dip into milk. I need to stop myself from eating more than one in one sitting! If you're wondering where the best rosca de Reyes is at, this bakery is it. They typically have long lines the day of, so make sure you reserve yours or pick it up early!

Great little spot on Nicollet if you are craving some Mexican foods. With all the construction it's a little confusing how to enter the deli part. The signs are above where you order and there's no line and I feel like if you stand there and wait patiently for someone to take your order - people just cut in front of you because you don't speak the language. So not cool, be assertive and order. Service was fast, you pay at the end of the counter and sit down and wait for your food. Ask for extra sauce, it is not spicy but it does compliment and give your meal a nice authentic flavor. I was boring that day, I ordered a taco salad for lunch with the coworkers. Don't judge me, I was trying to diet for Vegas bod! Taco shell - extremely fresh from the fryer and very crispy Fillings were superb but lost overwhelming but I'm not complaining!! It's a deli kinda thing, you order and you have some tables to sit down such as a cafeteria style. Chicken wings - batter was very thick and a very minor spice to it but it wasn't anything special. Meat was juicy but not anything I would order again. What I noticed is the regulars ordered the whole or half of grilled chicken and shared. I must find people and drag them with me so I can try it! Will come back!

Rich tasting deliciousness, the opposite of over priced bakery shops. Can you get anything for $1.00 these days? At Marrissa's, YES YOU CAN! This is no hole in the wall, the place has been up and running for as long as i have lived here. A quaint bakery shop that reminds me of the same ones i frequented, a childhood filled with shitty memories. Everything is freshly baked as they run out. This is not one of those bakeries that tends to be more of a deli-counter experience, you go in, grab a tray and a pair of tongs and start filling. For a bakery shop they really have a scrumptious home-made Tres Leches, Dulce De Leche Flan and other cakes. Vast selection of Galletas, and freshly baked pastries that will have you wanting more. You can smell the Besos and Nuez Con Crema from a mile a way, the Concha is super delicious always, so is the Compechana and the Cuerno De Agave. The Empanadas De Pina remind me of home, How about a foot-long Churro? If none of this is appealing, pay homage to Marissa's Deli just a few feet away for some first-rate food from south of the border.

The baked goods here are legit. Very fresh tasting and cheap! There was such a large selection of pastries, breads and cookies, we weren't able to try them all. If I lived here, I would def try a lot more!

I tried to call to ask how to prepare the pork al pastor taco meat and they hung up on me twice. Rude! I will be looking for another market.

I attended solo but luckily really liked the group I was assigned to. We wanted everyone to work on things they enjoy and allowed everyone to try some parts of the important tasks (making pasta and pastry dough). Your enjoyment might really depend on what your group is like. You can buy wine and beer to drink while you take the class, and those were reasonably priced I thought! $9 for a glass of wine and I think $8 for beer. The class was chaotic since we were making three courses and things needed to be done at different times, but the chaos felt like how it really is in a kitchen making multi course menus, so that didn't bother me! The assistants were great and helped us stay on track and helped if we were struggling with anything. I can't say I learned much from the class (which is why I only gave 4 stars), but I sure had a lot of fun!

The chocolate almond croissant is next level--flaky, buttery, and packed with rich, decadent flavor. And don't even get me started on the breakfast sandwiches--they're gourmet-level masterpieces. Every bite is perfection. The vibe & service here is warm and inviting, with the irresistible aroma of freshly baked bread and pastries filling the air. Whether you're grabbing a coffee, treating yourself to a pastry, or diving into one of their soups or salads, this place nails it every time. If you're in the area, do yourself a favor and stop by. Cooks Bellecour is an absolute gem!

Everything tasted fresh and thoughtfully balanced, which made it hard to pick a favorite. If you enjoy inventive desserts done well, Edward Dessert Kitchen is definitely worth the stop.
