I had the best experience today than I have ever had at a business. The staff is beyond friendly and caring. The two women working this afternoon definitely made me want to frequent going to this shop. The location was very clean and well organized. The donuts and coffee tasted great! This location is a bit far away from where I live but if I ever get a chance to swing by here again then I definitely will. Keep up the great work!

I arrived on a Saturday at 9:30 AM to get their featured donut of the week, the viral tiramisu donut. It was the most delicious donut I've ever had in my entire life. It has a sweet mascarpone creme coffee flavor center & coffee icing on top. They pull it at 10 AM because it contains dairy is what I was told so I wanted to make sure I got there before 10 AM. My all-time favorite donut at cardigan donuts as the French cruller, but they do not have this often. My second favorite donut here is the old-fashioned glazed and also the Boston cream donuts are to die for. I love this place, it is very clean, and the service is very fast.

We did a DoorDash order for 9 am drop off at our house. We were able to order ahead and the donuts came fresh and on time. Food: 5/5. These are the best old fashioned and apple fritter donuts I've had in awhile. The old fashioned donuts almost melt in your mouth and the fritters are light and fluffy with the perfect size apple chunks. The maple bacon weren't my favorite, the bacon overpowered the maple instead of complimented it, but I can't say enough about all the other ones we tried. Service: 5/5. Technically our service was Door Dash, but overall our order came correctly and on time. Definitely worth the trip downtown or delivery!

I genuinely don't like donuts all that much but this place was fantastic! Came here really early in the morning and was surprised there was already a big line. I ordered the Caramel Delight and I thought it would be more like a Girl Scout Samosa cookie flavor but it wasn't. The donut itself had a great texture as it was both cakey and had the donut/bagel bit to it. Also I really appreciate it wasn't that sweet and the coconut shavings really balanced out the caramel flavors. Definitely recommend when in Minneapolis to check this place out. Also, I do have to say that I was super impressed by the fact that the dining space was huge and there was plenty of different types of seating available. You could really work from here and treat this like a coffee shop. Also for Valentine's Day they had a mini craft area where you can make Valentine Day cards using their templates!

Cardigan Donuts is an absolute gem! Their old-fashioned donut is a must-try--it's perfectly crunchy on the outside, moist on the inside, and bursting with flavor. The old-fashioned with chocolate was hands down my favorite--rich, decadent, and absolutely delicious. The apple fritter was another highlight--crispy, sweet, and so enjoyable. I also tried the blueberry donut, which tasted just like a fresh blueberry muffin--such a delightful treat! While the coffee cake donut wasn't my favorite and not a flavor I'd pick again, it was still well-made and enjoyable in its own right. Overall, the quality and creativity of their donuts are top-notch. I'll definitely be back to explore more of their menu. We were back a few times during our stay for snacking and just because it was so good. The service is exceptional and friendly the moment you walk in the door. The inside is cute clean and cozy with tables and chairs to sit at inside. They were located right off of our hotel and through the skyway so you didn't need to walk outside at all. They did close pretty early around 3pm.

The Mummy: Pomegranate ginger jelly filled w/ Vanilla orange ermine icing Hazelnut Latte
    Jennifer S.

Grabbed this cute mummy donut (pomegranate ginger jelly filled w/ vanilla orange ermine icing) and a hazelnut latte from Cardigan Donuts and it made my day! The design was super fun for Halloween, and the donut itself was soft and fresh with just the right amount of sweetness. Paired it with a latte and it was such a good combo. Definitely a fun seasonal treat worth trying! The service was great, the staff were super attentive to each customer, and the shop had a cozy, welcoming vibe that made it easy to just relax and enjoy my coffee. Overall, a great place to stop by for a quick pick me up!

Best old fashioned donuts in the city! Don't believe me? Try them for yourself! Some local Minneapolis coffeehouse sell these donuts, but they're best right from their downtown bakery. They have a basic lineup, but create a number of specialty donuts each week. This time I visited and there was death by chocolate, chai coffee cake and so many more! They also make delicious parfait bowls and gourmet coffee drinks. See pics if weren't already feeling hungry! Be sure to get their newsletter and sign up for the birthday club.

Donuts brought into the department meeting

Donuts were brought to a department meeting and I was able to try a couple different flavors. The dough of the donuts was delicious. It had a yeasty flavor that does not often come across in the fried donut. These donuts are melt in your mouth soft and had a pillowy texture. I personally am a bigger fan of donuts that have a sturdier an slightly denser texture. Even for donuts I felt these were pretty sweet.

A Cardigan donut; cozy and very comforting! While walking thru City Center Mall, by accident I came across Cardigan Donuts located on the 2nd floor down the way from Chase Bank. Being a true donut diva, I wanted to go in and look, select and taste all the types of donuts; old fashioned, glazed raised, filled, cake and iced. I didn't see a cruller but I got there later in the day so they could have been sold out along with Boston creme (my favorite). I'll be back in town next week to try those. I challenge you to make the cruller if you don't already. Not many places get this texture right. I believe you can! The shop was beautifully laid out and I liked they had donuts showcased front and center! These beauties weren't going to last the rest of the day. It's small batches here and not production baking so you get a better experience. Naomi helped me with my order, was so nice and packed my donuts neatly. The Critique: 5/5 5- Excellent quality ingredients used and flavors were exceptional. 5- Not a spot of oil or oil residue in the box even after 2 days! Box was also paper lined. 5- Unique Orange curd filled donut was sumptuous made with fresh orange juice and flecks of orange peel! 5- Perfect crack on the old fashioned 5- Glaze and icings like silk - not gritty 5- Powdered (sugar) perfectly dusted on the donuts and not all over you or other donuts in the box! Subtle coating as it should be! 5- Glazed Raised - Perfect rise and rest time on the fry screens before frying - Wound love to see Crullers (I might have been too late in the day to snag one!) and a Dutch crumb featured

First of all wow, this place is huge. So much space to sit and loved the little fireplace. Really the interiors were just so nice. However we got our donuts to go. I have to say that they had some really fancy seasonals with lots of extras on top of a donut but those really weren't as good as their more basic donuts. One of the seasonal choices I think was a strawberry cheesecake but we really didn't get that cheesecake flavor and it was our least favorite. I also got a kombucha here. Ordering it was a little strange. I asked the staff what the flavor was but instead of telling me they just asked if I wanted to sample it which is great but I'm still not really sure what flavor it was but c'est la vie

Delicious! Very well made and they have a huge selection! Got some donuts for a meeting and it was a huge hit! BEWARE that the donuts are made in pork lard (which is on the site)

I've been to Cardigan Donuts both times I visited Minneapolis. Their donuts were amazing! So fresh and tasty. Not overly sugary sweet, soft and light texture. Perfect size, not too small or too large. The flavors we've tried include: glazed cake, blueberry cake, chocolate iced cake with sprinkles, jam filled powdered, cinnamon sugar cake, old fashioned glazed and apple fritter glazed. If I had to pick a favorite, it would be the blueberry cake but they were all delicious. The service was great both times as well. The staff members were friendly and helpful. We will definitely be back next time in town.

I'm not a donut person so to go out and get a few on a whim and say, yeah it's great is a good endorsement. Located inside the IDS tower, Cardigan is a small donut and coffee shop located on the 2nd floor overlooking the main "plaza" inside the IDS tower. Great for a quick bite, they offered glazed and season donuts at a reasonable price. Ordering is standard, you walk up to a cash register and take the order from there. Can't really go wrong with any of them, as none of them are overloaded with sugar at all! I did enjoy that it you can taste the donut without it being overly sweet and overpowering. I did enjoy the apple fritter (the one with the decorated flakes" the most. Overall, good donut spot for a quick bite.

I've never written a poor review about a business, but I feel our experience needs to be shared…read more For any future couple getting married who's thinking about having D'Amico as the caterer, I'd think again. Go with someone else who won't cause you trouble on your wedding day. Below are a few things that occurred on our wedding day: 1. My biggest annoyance after working with them - they have no problem taking your money, but when it comes time to making things right for the issues they caused, they TRULY could not care less. We told them about our problems & NOT ONE person we worked with from their team has cared to give me a call back. 2. We spent hundreds of dollars paying for extra rentals to live inside our reception space so that we could have 2 bar areas for guests to get drinks. 1 of their bartenders just didn't show up leaving our second bar to be completely closed for a majority of the reception. After our wedding we let D'amico know & because no one was calling us back, & we sent them an email about the situation. Via email, D'amico replied & they offered to refund us the labor hours we paid for, however, if they would just give us a call back, they'd be able to learn that it's not just $500 in labor we got gypped. It was also hundreds of dollars in rentals we paid to have an extra bar & decor surrounding the bar. Last note about this, how could they not properly staff an event? They didnt have ONE back up person who could attend the bar? D'Amico claims to be the experts with a ton of experience, but this is such a rookie issue to have. 3. Our food was served cold. As the bride its hard to eat when you have so many guests to entertain & say hello. This caterer made it easy not to eat my main course. 4. We chose speciality cocktails to be served at our wedding & were not made aware until THE MORNING of the wedding that the specialty cocktails would only be available at the cocktail hour (our cocktails were simple 3 ingredient drinks: Old Fashioned & French 75). As an experienced catering company, how could they not continue to serve these throughout the evening, especially with these drinks being the easiest to make! In the instance that it did say in our contract that cocktails would only be served at our cocktail hour, it should have been made clear over one of our planning phone calls that specialty cocktails will NOT carry over to the reception because if it was made clear, we would have not opted in to paying more for specialty drinks. Big waste of money & again, we felt swindled. I truly hate to say this, but if you are getting married soon, I highly recommend you work with another caterer. And Im happy to sign my name at the bottom of this review.. maybe then we'll finally get a call back. - Jamie
