Moroccan chicken salad sandwich
Ruby T.

Cute place but the food was kind of mid. When choosing between the sandwich being hot or cold I chose cold thinking only the meat inside would be cold but the whole sandwich including the bread was cold and hard. Felt like it was prepped earlier and pulled straight from the fridge. Also think it could use more chicken for $16 after tax. Pastries are good but I wouldn't come back for a meal.

Wonderful coffee and such a pretty space. Lots of seating upstairs and they have an elevator for access.

Pastry case + grab and go items

This looked like a good place to grab breakfast before heading to the airport and leaving Minneapolis. A French inspired bakery that touts their 130 year old starter, they make everything fresh in house. I got a coffee and baklava chocolate chip cookie for breakfast, and a to-go tuna club for a total of ~$30. They were good, but service was notably curt. I'd give it another try.

Mother Dough was cozy and adorably decorated in Art Deco vibes on a crisp Monday before our flight. We had a croissant, latte, americano and cookie. Food was tasty and drinks were hot & strong. I appreciated their accessibility measures to allow all to enjoy their upstairs space, too.

Fresh granola and a chocolate chip cookie.

Stopped by for lunch on a hot day. Loved the outdoor seating and selection of baked goods. Ended up trying the Greek yogurt and fresh granola. The granola was delicious and I also enjoyed the chocolate chip cookie, though it was a little under cooked in the very center.

Half chicken baguette and wild rice soup

I tried their half sandwich half soup combo for $12.50. My chicken baguette was five stars. The chicken was super tender. The baguette was soft and tasty. It had a ton of stuff in it including mozzarella. I need to add mozzarella to all my sandwiches from now on! The wild rice soup was good. I also tried their matcha latte, which just didn't wow me as much with their matcha power. Service was friendly. We enjoyed their outdoor seating and overall ambiance. I would come back just for that chicken baguette sandwich.

Cute bakery! The atmosphere drew me in and I like the location in the Mill District. The space is really big and there's a cozy fireplace upstairs. Service was solid, too. I tried a lemon loaf and a miel; the miel was good, but I wouldn't order that lemon loaf again, since it was tiny and fairly dry. Everything else about Mother Dough encourages me to come back and try different treats, though! Metered street parking in the area.

I took my friends on a field trip down the street from the hotel. They wanted to go check out some bakeries and I said there's one down the street. The glass is decorated with colors of gold like writings, which was very cool. Once inside was beautiful. Look at the ceiling! They offer pastries, desserts, coffee, tea, and wine. Anything to get your morning started. The dining area is upstairs just some ways down from the pastry counter.

Charming French bakery café with a relaxed atmosphere. Extensive variety of breakfast pastries and beverages. The server was incredibly kind and courteous.

I was excited to walk down to this new location for lunch! It did not disappoint! I had the daily quiche with olives, cheese, ham, and other veggies - amazing!!! It came with a side of greens that I loved! I also had a Chai. It was perfectly sweet and spiced, but WAY too hot haha. I didn't get a sweet treat this time but they all looked amazing. My co-worker said the vegan chocolate cake was the best she'd ever ever had. The staff was friendly and fairly quick. The vibes were so cute and great for breakfast or lunch. Seating for 20 or so. Prices were reasonable but not low by any means. That's probably the only thing that will keep me from going weekly haha. But definitely worth the visit!

It's very cute inside, French Parisian vibe. There is outdoor seating as well with heaters. It is a walk up and order so easy grab and go options. The chocolates and truffles looked tasty so we will probably try that next time. The Miel was excellent, not too sweet and good coffee flavor. We loved the chocolate croissant which tasted fresh. The down side was the chicken baguette sandwich. The chicken was dry, not a lot of flavor, and the baguette was very chewy. We ordered it along with our other food items and were given a table number, assuming that the sandwich would be brought to us. But the baguette was just from the display counter and seemed like it had been sitting out for a while.

I attended solo but luckily really liked the group I was assigned to. We wanted everyone to work on things they enjoy and allowed everyone to try some parts of the important tasks (making pasta and pastry dough). Your enjoyment might really depend on what your group is like. You can buy wine and beer to drink while you take the class, and those were reasonably priced I thought! $9 for a glass of wine and I think $8 for beer. The class was chaotic since we were making three courses and things needed to be done at different times, but the chaos felt like how it really is in a kitchen making multi course menus, so that didn't bother me! The assistants were great and helped us stay on track and helped if we were struggling with anything. I can't say I learned much from the class (which is why I only gave 4 stars), but I sure had a lot of fun!

The sandwich was good and the pear is a surprisingly good addition. Tasty all around. As I sat there I kept seeing these monster bloody mary's walking around. He knew I was trying to decide and poured me a sample of his favorite without me even needing to ask, and it was a great call. There's a certain cozy energy in this place with the dim-but-not-dark lighting that makes it a nice place to relax and enjoy some food and drink. I had the prime rib french dip and it was incredibly tender and flavorful. I had a hard time selecting a place to sit since I wanted to sit in many of the places. The staff was amazing! I ordered a cortado for here, and it was perfect and gorgeous. I ended up spilling it all over the floor (totally my fault). I went up to order a new one (planning to pay because again..my fault!) and the staff refused to let me pay and even brought me my new drink to the table I was at. Talk about customer service! It was my fault I spilled it and they would not let me help clean it up or buy a new one. Consider me a fan of this place!

***WORST COFFEE ON PLANET EARTH***…read more This review is only on their coffee, not the donuts (donuts are made by cardigan donuts), only just the really bad coffee. When you read about their coffee, they talk a lot about how their coffee is high on acidity, etc.. I don't think... that's not what makes their coffee really bad. Here is an example of why I think their coffee tastes such like crap. Just imagine making the Intenso (highest Nespresso, strength of coffee) coffee pod of Nespresso, that strong really bold very flavorful coffee taste. You'll get a dark rich color. Imagine RE-using that Nespresso coffee pod and brewing yourself another cup with it.... That's what FRGMT coffee tastes like.... Super watered down very acidic flavor that absolute crap coffee lack of any robust flavor. It just makes you think that you just got a watered down version of an espresso / coffee pod by brewing it again from a reused coffee pod, that's how this place makes you feel ... basically absolute crap taste. I've never had coffee this bad in my entire life, so that's why I think the coffee here is the worst coffee on the planet. Nobody wants to wake up in the morning and feel like a reused coffee pod. It makes you wonder what did they do with the first brew of the coffee lol. It literally tastes like they reuse the coffee grounds and you would therefore get that watered down coffee taste. Their coffee grounds that they use here should be investigated lol. No matter how you want to describe what this coffee is supposed to taste like or whatever the acidity description is on their website... it's basically crap coffee. Don't be fooled by their acidity in their coffee or whatever excuses they try to use bcuz it just tastes like basically watered down double filtered very watered down coffee. They charge the same expensive prices like anywhere else, but here you would get the watered down version that tastes like reused coffee grounds... ICK. Absolutely horrible, horrible type of coffee. It is almost as if they're using coffee grounds that have already been used before like they have already been processed before... very rancid coffee almost if that even is such a thing. Not to mention the people that work here act like and look like they hate their job and they just can't wait to go home. Never seen one person smile back there. Is it bcuz they know the coffee is bad?! Especially, being in a gorgeous open space of a lobby it makes you think different thoughts about what you're walking into, getting coffee service by extremely unhappy crabby folks. Very bad coffee but very good donuts and they don't even make their own donuts. This place wouldn't even exist without the cardigan donuts let's just say that. They also have their own merch lol. Bcuz customers want to wear their brand of really horrible coffee?! I am a local to SpyHouse & Dunn Bros for decades so my coffee palate I would say can debunk this place correctly lol. Even at Rise Bagel (a bagel place known for bagels!) does better coffee than here.
