This location is a little hard to find initially because it's located off the street between two buildings. The space itself is enormous with a clean, modern Scandinavian aesthetic. It gets an incredible amount of natural light, which makes it a pleasant place to spend some time. I also loved that it's dog friendly. The seating, however, is a bit of a mixed bag. There's a decent amount of it, but it's not really comfortable and it feels like there's plenty of room to add more seating throughout the space. The staff was very friendly and welcoming, which made for a great first impression. The menu is a little limited, but what I had was excellent. I ordered the light roast coffee and it was super good. I was also happy to see they carry Cardigan Donuts. If you have not had one before, they are absolutely worth trying! The biggest drawback for me was the WiFi. It was so unreliable that it made getting work done almost impossible, which is a pretty significant downside for a coffee shop. Overall, I enjoyed the coffee, the atmosphere, and the friendly staff, but the limited menu, somewhat uncomfortable seating, and especially the poor WiFi kept this from becoming one of my go to coffee shops. read more

This place is fantastic! I went here prior to getting my hair done across the street for a meeting. There is huge space that is set up perfectly for working from coffee shop, which i truly love and appreciated. I had a hard time selecting a place to sit since I wanted to sit in many of the places. The staff was amazing! I ordered a cortado for here, and it was perfect and gorgeous. I ended up spilling it all over the floor (totally my fault). I went up to order a new one (planning to pay because again..my fault!) and the staff refused to let me pay and even brought me my new drink to the table I was at. Talk about customer service! The location is great--big, open, and plenty of seating for individuals as well as small and large groups. The larger tables with outlets seem to get snagged right away, though. Our group of five found a table that worked, but with no nearby outlets, it was a bit inconvenient. This was my second visit, and honestly, the coffee has been just okay both times. Today I ordered an iced coffee with vanilla, but I really couldn't taste the vanilla at all. The donuts looked good though! Hot tip: park on 2nd Street! This is a really cute coffee shop with plenty of seating both inside and outside. The atmosphere was perfect for working, low, relaxing music that made it easy to focus. I tried the poptart and a black coffee. The coffee was solid, but the poptart was slightly overdone, the sugar topping had a bit of a burnt taste. Service was direct and to the point; not overly friendly, but it got the job done. If the staff were a bit more attentive and the food just a touch better prepared, this would easily be a 5-star spot. read more

This FRGMNT location is beautiful. The space is very open and inviting, just like all their other locations, with plenty of different seating options so everyone can get comfortable. The interior design is stunning and the fireplace adds a cozy touch. It's always packed no matter the time of day, which shows how popular it is. Unfortunately, the coffee has been consistently disappointing for me. For such a great space, the drinks just don't match the atmosphere. Service has also been a letdown. It feels rushed and transactional, and the staff does not come across as very friendly or welcoming, which takes away from the experience. They do have a nice selection of baked goods, including Cardigan Donuts, which is a plus. Parking is typical for the North Loop. It can be a bit difficult to find right nearby, but there are plenty of options if you're willing to walk a few blocks. Overall, it's a gorgeous space and a great place to meet up or sit for a bit, but the coffee quality and service are what hold this location back for me which is sad because I love other FRGMT locations. read more

Man that is one annoying name. I've been exploring a lot of different coffee shops lately, and this is one with coffee that was fine, but with a cool, expansive space that is very pleasant to hang out in. It's on the ground floor of The Nordic, a modern office/retail/residential high rise in the heart of North Loop. It feels like you're in a big lobby. Some cool decor and plenty of space, plus a patio that really feels like it's in the middle of lots of urban goings-on. I had a specialty cold brew beverage called a Strawberry Fields something, and it was fruity and interesting. I came back for a straightforward mocha and it was surprisingly bland. By design it was low on sweetness, but instead of that bringing out the flavor of the coffee it wound up being pretty flavorless. They offer some pastries that look really good, and the service is fun and friendly. My guess is that most people like this because there's such a fun energy in this location. And I suppose maybe some people like a place with a name like FRGMNT. read more

My company has our quarterly planning meetings in a private room in the lobby. Over this past year, I have been caught off guard by the off-putting staff but today's experience was really too much. I asked how many shots were in a medium cappuccino and was met with a "Are you a dumba-- " look as I was told they only had one size. I then made a huge mistake by asking if they had coconut milk as the cashier ROLLED HER EYES as she told me no. After I paid - she went over to the barista making the coffee and made a comment. When I noticed that my drink was being served in a paper cup, I asked if I could have a real cup I was met with a second set of eye rolls. My boyfriend and I went over to FRGMNT on a Saturday morning before a long walk across the river - warning this place gets BUSY because it's so good! There was little to no seating inside and we were in line for about 10-15 minutes. The interior is very modern and dim, a great place to relax and work or catch up with a friend. There's a variety of different types of seating options, so you can really find something for everyone. I loved the variety of tea and coffee that this shop has - I'll often opt for tea so it was fun. to see so many unique tea drinks. This time around I was in the mood for a good latte, so I got a small almond milk hot latte. Warning that the small is VERY small for a latte, but I didn't mind. It was deliciously creamy and had a nice roast flavor to it. My boyfriend also really enjoyed his iced vanilla latte. The coffees came out fast for how busy the day was - we waited probably about 10 minutes or less. FRGMNT offers Cardigan Donuts, which are some of my favorite in the Twin Cities, so we couldn't pass them up. I do with they had better signage for their house pastries, because I didn't know what they were or the cost. My boyfriend got the apple fritter donut, and we were a huge fan! It was like a cross between an apple fritter and a fluffy donut - I loved it because I often think fritters are too dry. I got the Vanilla Caramel Coconut Bar - if you're a fan of coconut you'll love this. It wasn't overly sweet but it was the perfect pairing with coffee. FRGMNT always has really tasty drinks, they do seem to tend to lean toward more classic espresso beverages rather than creating a bunch of specialty lattes, etc. My coworkers and I decided to work from the North Loop FRGMNT today before heading into the office; this space is huge, with lots of differently sized tables, perfect for working remotely. I will say, though, there is some sort of buzzing? noise, it's like white noise but more intense, maybe a generator or something running, that's actually awful. I understand there isn't a ton to be done about construction, etc., but it's oppressive. That being said, today I got the Alligator Pear Latte iced with oat milk. I had not been there before, so when I went to the St. Anthony Main location I ordered a double espresso to get to the core of what should be good at a coffee shop. It was served on a nice saucer with a mini spoon and small glass of water, which I appreciate. However, a bit of sugar on the place would have been nice. What I got was not a double, so strike one. Strike two was the espresso being the most sour espresso I can ever remember having. Think warm black lemon juice. It was an abomination. Truly horrible. I saw they have merch about something like "acidity is not bad" or something like that. I agree, that acidity notes in coffee are not inherently bad. This seems like they are trying to gaslight people into accepting horrible coffee. Great environment, interesting coffee and tea offerings on the menu, but really, REALLY horrible coffee. read more

The coffee is quite good - I have had cold brews and espressos as well. They also have Cadigan Donuts on the weekdays. I like the staff, too.
