Beef and cheddar roll, quiche

Love love savory bake house everything that comes out of this bakery is a work of art! No soggy bottoms here! Flavors are spot on. Tip: follow them on instagram and facebook to keep up with their opening times and rotating menu of goodies. Be ready to wait in line but Friday or Sunday before 10am is not that bad!

Popular spot with quick service but they sell out too quickly! Fun to try so many delicious things and in a fun neighborhood to explore.

A hidden gem in the Longfellow neighborhood of Minneapolis. I feel like only the locals and some instagram foodies know about this special bakery. Open only a few days a week come early and be prepared to wait in line to order tasty treats savory and sweet at the cute little window by Max. Reminds me of a little European bakery with the vibe ,menu is posted at the front but it's best to check out their social media pages day of for updates in case what you want is sold out ! Haven't had anything bad here yet, wish it was closer so I could visit more often

I had been going every other week since a year ago. I usually wake up early and arrive before they open, as people like to go and line up early, and a lot of stuff gets sold out relatively quickly. My favorite is the Polish Roll; and it's a very buttery roll/bun with a very savory and umami filling, and the filling inside is very generous. Every day, they offer various GF items, especially cakes. You can order ahead whole cakes for special occasions, and they are highly affordable.

Everything I have tried has always been a 10/10. This place is amazing and their quiche crust is to die for. Nothing is ever too salty, or too sweet- always just right. Check their instagram before going! You must try!!

So this review is for the bacon & leek scone I had both days this weekend. Sure I could write something about the convenience of this place as it is close to my home and when I walk up there with my pooch, they offer custom made treats for that same pooch of mine who now knows the routine; - sit patiently - wait for the customers in front to get out of the way - tail does small wag as he gets spoken to - gets treat - devours I could even write about the many quiche that are made fresh each day or the pies, oh those tasty pot pies that are filled with with all sorts of goodness that warm you up. Alfredo to curry to Wellington to something else. Always changing, always tasty. No, I'm writing about that scone. And it's not one of the many other scones or cookies or tarts that they make that when you eat, you eat in small delicate bites so you can extend the experience just a bit longer. And one last clarification, this is not about that churro cream puff I had the previous weekend that when I ate it, my eyes would close and savor that wonderful filling. No, it's about that bacon & leek scone. It's subtle bacon and salt mixed in the pastry was the perfect blend of goodness. And that first one I had on Saturday that I had that was still warm? Oh man! "I should've bought two!" I thought, as I made my walk home down the sidewalk nibbling away at my new discovery. So yesterday I went back hoping they had more and they did! But they only had one up front on their little wood trays that fit in so well with the whole motif of the place. "You have any more in back?" I hopefully asked and with a response of "three more" the decision was made to clean them out. So I apologize to the people behind me in case you wanted one but I bought the last four. Be thankful is all I ask because I may have saved you from an addiction as I think I have become a bacon & leek scone junkie.

Just gobbled this up!

Definitely go here! NOW! This is a tiny local bakery, but it's full of amazing savory and sweet treats. I even went in the afternoon, when things were pretty picked over, and found a great lunch. I prefer savory to sweet, so this is my new jam! The man at the counter was helpful and convincing of what would be the best choice for me. I ordered a veggie curry pie and a gluten free salted caramel peanut chocolate torte. (check out my pics). While I was waiting for the pie to be heated, I figured I better try a date ball. Who doesn't like balls?! I bit into it and I immediately noticed a snap, crackle and pop in my mouth. I am not going to ruin it for you, but there was an amazing secret ingredient that added another dimension to this tasty ball. The adorable man at the counter shared it was the owners grandmother's recipe. The veggie pie had just the right amount of curry, which was not too overpowering. They were also seasoned well and seemed roasted. The best part was the crust was not thick, therefore did not take over the pie with a gummy texture. The torte was good, but I cant wait to try the cherry almond scone or sweet potato chocolate sweetbread. Let this place blow your mind!

The service is always wonderful and welcoming, and I'm always delighted to see Marc himself. It's such a nice personal touch to see the person behind these beautiful creations there on each visit. You can feel the passion that goes into his craft. A must-visit if you appreciate beautiful pastries, thoughtful details, and desserts that taste just as good as they look. On street parking, can be a challenge during peak hours but usually easy to find a spot.

Kari's Rating 9/10…read more Stumbled upon this place around brunch time on a Saturday and as expected, most of the pastries were sold out, meaning this place is really good and a lot of people do wait when this bakery opens. As we weren't sure what our lunch plans were, so we loaded up on 5 beautiful pastries, and got a variety, including their cinnamon roll, their ham and cheese croissant, an Ispahan croissant and an iced coffee topped off with a hot London fog. They were out of the butter almond croissant, so the worker kindly came over to our table and said I could pick something else. I ended up going with the cinnamon roll as I wanted to balance my savory ham and cheese croissant with something sweet. Wow, it is good! They add this extra sugarcoat glaze on the top that makes all the pastries shine, which I thought was an extra special touch that they made an effort to make the pastries extra beautiful. Because we ordered five pastries, it came in this really cute little white and black ribboned pastry box! Knowing they only have 18 pastries-and at 11 AM realizing they were out of most of them, no wonder they got voted best pastries in the Twin Cities! Since I am somewhat of a bakery connoisseur, I always judge their pastries off their ham and cheese croissant as it is one of my absolute favorites I get every chance I get. This bakery ham and cheese croissant had a good ratio of ham and cheese to the size the pastry. It was quite large and I realized I didn't even have room for the cinnamon roll. However, I've had flakier lighter crispy croissants at my hometown bakery, and I would have liked it to be a tad lighter between layers and less bread doughy as you can see in the pictures. Nonetheless, I ate the entire thing! Proving it was still delicious. This is definitely a place you should stop by if you're ever in the area, but make sure you get here early if you want all the variety! Bonus, as we were coming out, the bakers brought out this 3ft custard dough ball caramel glue structure out for a customers wedding cake. The worker helped put it in the car and as far as we know, it made it to its destination. See pics for an incredible wedding dough ball surprise. I can only imagine how long it took to make this structure as well as how expensive it must be considering this bakery only has two locations and everything was absolutely delicious.

The ham and plain are slightly above average. The jam is very good. This time we tried both the Chocolate Chunk and the Chocolate Chunk Butterscotch cookies. Both are excellent but I am leaning towards the Butterscotch.

I'm sorry Jason. You really had my hopes up when you were talking about Betty and Earl"s biscuits…read moreon your show but you've proven to me once again that unless you were raised in the South or by a Southern transplant you don't have a clue about baking soda biscuits. A good southern biscuit is hard to find in Minnesota. In my house they are served warm. and soft, usually fresh from the oven. A dab of butter melted inside sets them off perfectly. If a restaurant in Minnesota says it has Biscuits and Gravy I can't resist trying it only to be disappointed over and over again. That being said, KFC and Hardee's both have a good biscuits. And there is absolutely nothing wrong with frozen Pillsberry Grand Buttermilk Biscuits. Not the ones that come in a tube. So why would I go to a bakery in a mall that opens at 11 to get a biscuit? I trusted Jason. He sounded so sincere. Huh! Big mistake, I should have checked out his genealogy. The actual place is in the food court in the Rosedale Mall and the sign says, "Seeet and Savory by Diane" . The first warning was seeing the biscuits on a covered cake tray like you might stack doughnuts. These people are bakers after all not cooks. So, we wait for the lady at the counter to finish helping the person in front of us and then we asked for biscuits and gravy. The lady walks over to the sign and shows us the little sticker they added that says, "Weekend's Only". I was already wondering why anyone would start serving breakfast at 11. While we were trying to figure out if that applied to every item on the board or just the biscuits and gravy another customer got in front of us. We decided to ask for biscuit and egg sandwich's and a cup of coffee. Well, they only make one craft of coffee a day and when it's out it's out. If we wanted coffee we were told we need to go to the Brew and Waffle concession a few feet away. Alright no big deal, but over there no one's behind the counter and I am baffled as to what is going on. It doesn't seem to be self serve but there is a young lady sitting at the counter eating. Finally she gets up and acknowledges me by telling me she's on break but but since I'm there, she'll help me out anyway. She made it very clear that I was inconveniencing her. Well then, put up a closed sign or a "Back at 1pm" sign. Let's just skip on to describing the biscuit sandwich or more precisely the $10 (the sign said $8 I think) biscuit sandwich. The biscuits were big and thick and yellowish in color. I wondered if they added cornmeal to the flour. They had a gritty texture but not as gritty as cornbread. Ok, next time we'll try Betty and Earl's Minneapolis location. And Jason, spend a weekend south of the Mason-Dixon line and learn a little more about biscuits. Damn! I'm so sorry! I forgot to take pictures.
