You walk in and it's nicely decorated and very cool. Music was blasting waaay to loud. Service was meh. Not very warm and friendly. The food was Okay. Not a fan of the white rice with veggies.It was so plain. The quesadilla was small for the price you pay you can get a bigger one some where else in town. Despite some issues I still come here, reason being I have a craving for the asada molcajete here often -it's really good. Let me start off with the issues, I have literally walked out and was not nice about it after waiting for about 15min and seeing another group come in get seated, get drinks and chips while I sat there without a waitress even stopping at my table once (the wait staff are all females here and only one or two do not speak English). The restaurant looks under staffed when it's busy. The other two issues would be, wait times can be long and some days/times the jukebox music can be very loud as well as the live music, the place does get very busy with big groups eating and drinking buckets of beers. The food -ceviche's, salsa/chips, fish tacos, beans and the molcajete I can speak for, I really enjoy those food item's and will continuously go back for them. They do offer (take out) which I use often and that right there solves any issues I would have by eating inside. Nice little seafood restaurant- pina mixta consisted of shrimp mussels fish crab legs all mixed together and served in a half pineapple along with rice with veggies. I had the camarones a la plancha which was grilled shrimp beans and rice pretty tasty for drinks we had a michelada and a drink with squirt-agave and fresh lime. Our first time here good experience the only bad thing was the service was a bit slow and we had to go to the counter because we never got our check. We came in on a Sunday evening so it wasn't too busy. The wait staff was kind of rude and stared at us for 10 mins before seating us. We got our order in and it took kind of long to get our food, a good 30 mins easily. When we got it, we were happy with it. I got Langostinos and they were so good! I highly recommend them. This is the first time I wished I had gone to Taco Bell. The first thing that hits you as you walk in is the loud music. I could barely hear the server. I was then treated to a basket of stale chips with what I assume was watery ketchup and Iced Tea that tasted like tap water...just 3 dollar tap water. Come here for lunch a lot good service fabulous food. The music is loud but we ask to lower it and they do. On the weekend for dinner very busy and service is slower, however during the week service is excellent too. They could use a bus boy as the waitresses are serving and busing. On Friday March 26th my husband and I went here for Dinner. We waited at the entrance no one would acknowledge us. There was people sitting inside even though we are still in Purple Tier in Madera County and only Outdoor Dinning is allowed. We must've waited 20 mins that's when my husband asked if we could sit at one of the empty tables outside the waitress said yes and that she would be right out with chips and salsa. We sat down waited another 20 mins my husband went to ask for menus again he was told they would come out with chips and salsa. As my husband got back to the table, another table across was very upset they had been waiting 45 mins for their drinks and another hour for food. They got up paid for the drinks and left. 10 mins after that, some customers sitting across also got up and came over to take our patio heater. My husband asked what were they doing? It was starting to get cold and we were going to ask the waitress to please turn it on. The customers said the waitress said they could take it. At this point I was upset, I asked them did the waitress not see us here? Do you guys not see us sitting here? Why would you take the heater where there are customers sitting? The customers apologized and said they didn't want any trouble. My husband said the trouble wasn't with them it was with the staff. Why would they have customers go move the heater? That's a hazard and they can get hurt. We decided to leave after this. I understand because of Covid businesses must be short staffed. But why make it harder at everyone and have indoor dining and not attend to the outdoor diners? This is all poor management. If you are any nationality that doesn't speak Spanish, stay clear of this place. Sadly I've been here two times. Just felt that how I was made to feel couldn't be as intentional as it appeared. The first time in, we were a table of twelve. Most of us were not Latino. There were only two tables of patrons other than our table. Waitress spoke broken English. Thankfully, one at our table was fluent in Spanish. Then came a four or five piece band. They played at only one volume. The sound was so intensely loud, it reverberated off the tile floor and walls. Can you say deafening? Why would the band even think they needed amplifiers? All songs were in Spanish. When they finally went on break, they visited the other two tables; not ours. The food was ok. Server never checked on us after the food was delivered. You had to ask for drink refills, and then wait a long time to get them. Never have I been treated like this. Maybe the management were new and unaccustomed to having other nationalities frequent their restaurant. Memorable! Yet, I came back to give them another chance. Oh yes! I brought several Latino friends this time. When we entered, no one else was in the place. The music? The piped in music was Blaringly, offensively loud . No one could carry on a conversation. I was screaming into the ear of the person next to me. They had to lip read to understand. My chums who spoke Spanish asked our server if she could turn down the music. He was so kind when he asked. They turned it down a hair. He respectfully requested it to be lowered twice more. Which she begrudgingly did. There was no one else in the place until half way thru our meal. I went to the restroom. When I returned she had cranked the music back up to the decibels when we had entered the place. She only spoke in Spanish when she took the orders. I didn't understand what I had ordered. She didn't care or clarify. So customer service was grossly lacking to even the Hispanic friends of mine. I can only guess this was to penalize them. Food was ok. Service was very poor. In conclusion, the word to the wise, if you want mediocre, expensive food coupled with pitiable service heaped with apparent prejudice, eat here. My ears are still ringing. My Hispanic friends assured me that the treatment we received was clearly prejudice. I don't know. But this is never a place I need to go to again. My first visit here and I have to say the food was good. It wasn't great, but it was good. I didn't like the fact that a waitress took my order and I ordered the "wet burrito" and when she came with my order it was a regular burrito. I told her I ordered the "wet burrito" and the waitress said, "No, you didn't!" "Let me show you!" As she is telling me this she is taking out her waiter pad to show me that wasn't what I had ordered.
