On our way from Sacramento to Madera to pick up my daughter, we made a quick stop at El Epazote... and let me tell you, BEST decision ‍ Ordered a michelada and a tlayuda and everything was the flavor, the seasoning, the meat... ufff, too good My boyfriend got fries and even those were on point. The place is small but super clean and cozy, and the service was amazing our waitress was so kind and attentive the whole time If you're ever in the area, don't think twice... 100% recommend

First time here and absolutely loved our food and service! We ordered the quesadilla huitlacoche and the chilaquiles con salsa verde! The highlight for me was the flavorful chilaquiles with carne, delicious churros and loveddd my cafe de olla. We will definitely come back again and can't wait to try the rest of their savory dishes!

This place is always fresh, delicious and i love that they have vegetarian/vegan options. The staff is very nice and the wait is not usually very long. Homey vibe.

What what? I have not put comments here yet? Right on the corner of Gateway and fourth Street Walking distance from City Hall and from Madera Ford if you're truck is being serviced :-) The food here has always been excellent... The burritos, huevos à la Mexicana, Agua Fresca, to the handmade tortillas... And don't forget their Horchata! Excellent food for pick up, and great service at the tables as well This is a top spot in Madera for sure And to top it off they are actually open for breakfast! Quick stop off and on highway 99 as well! Much like my favorite place in Berkeley to have Mexican food at La Mission, I believe this is a former old school Taco Bell building with a cute patio outside and tables inside as well You should stop in whenever in the area... I know I do!

The three plates we ordered were really good. We recently visited Oaxaca and we were craving the food, it did not disappoint. The mole was sweet and flavorful. Will definitely go back.

What a surprise to find a Oaxacan restaurant on our way home from Los Angeles to Sacramento in of all places, Madera! It turns out Madera has a vibrant Oaxacan community! I had their Huiltlacoche quesadilla and my wife had their chicken mole tamales. The Quesadilla was exactly as I had in Oaxaca with fresh huitlacoche, Oaxacan cheese and fresh epazote. There was side of refried black beans that had a sweet hint of Hoja Santa. My wife's tamales were steamed in banana leaves which I prefer to steamed in corn husks. The mole tasted like the moles I've had in Oaxaca. There was a Mexican family next to us and the father had a huge tlayuda that must have been at least 16" in diameter! His wife had a bowl of seafood soup that looked great! One kid had the quesabirria tacos, which also looked very tasty. If you're passing through Madera, don't miss it!

What a delicious find! There is plenty of interior seating here. The interior is decorated nicely and everything is very clean. I ordered the mole tamales and they were great! The mole was delicious and smokey. The tamales were cooked very well and the chicken was great.

Great Service and ambiance. The food was amazing especially the Chicken burrito and fries!

huitlacoche taco, with homemade tortillas, no cactus this time either way, very very Good the chef kiss.

The food is amazing. I haven't been in a while, but never disappoints my favorite thing I always order huitlacoche taco. I'm not sure it's on the menu. They just know what I like. Service is great. The atmosphere is nice inside and out covered seating for winter and hot summer days. Must try every thing on menu is good i've went with different people and they've ordered different stuff and said the food was good. They go back.

Place had a fun farm theme, from the exterior red barn style architecture, to the barn doors between the dining area and booths, and the all American decor. It was very packed for a Friday morning but we were able to get seated within a few minutes and our server had great hospitality. And when I say... the portions here are GENEROUS - believe me! I couldn't believe how much food you get for your order, and the best part is, every bite hit. I decided to veer out of what I typically get for breakfast and did a lil sweet and savory moment and got the stuffed French toast with a sweet cream cheese filling and strawberry topping, and it came with 2 eggs of your choice, potato of choice, and either bacon or sausage. Bacon had the perfect amount of crisp, I asked for my hash browns extra crispy and they hit it on the nose. My partner got a bacon cheese burger. Bun was toasted, patty was flavorful, bacon was bussin, and he said they don't seem to skimp out at all on the fries! Price was very very reasonable for the portions, about $45 for this- my partner is from the Bay Area and so he's used to this quality of food and portions to be $$$$$$ and he even said this was such a deal! Family friendly place for sure, employees are super attentive, and left satisfied with the meal and service. If you're in town, or even passing through, this is the place to check out for breakfast.

I stood patiently, fully understanding how busy the restaurant was. However, as I waited, the hostess continued to call up other guests (four separate times) without any acknowledgment of my presence. We even made eye contact more than once, yet there was no greeting, smile, or indication that she noticed I was waiting. This happened with two different hostesses. Eventually, my fiancé stepped forward near the register, but the hostess avoided eye contact entirely, staring at the screen instead. It wasn't until I finally spoke up and said I was there for a pickup that she acknowledged us -- and suddenly seemed to notice the 6'2" man standing right in front of her. Fifteen minutes went by before I received my food, and I had to initiate the interaction myself. I was not greeted, not engaged, and my food l, which had been ready for some time; was soggy by the time I got it. The ranch inside was even warm from sitting too long. This was my fiancé's first time at this establishment, and unfortunately, he's now hesitant to return if this is the tone and level of service to expect. I understand being busy, truly. But making direct eye contact with a customer and choosing not to acknowledge them, not even with a simple "Hi, we'll be right with you," is disappointing and leaves a poor impression. Overall, the experience was less than stellar. I would have appreciated better communication and fresher food, but hopefully this feedback helps improve future service for others.

We stopped here before a weekend Disney run and wow... these bagel sandwiches had no business being this good. Fresh, hot, stacked like they were built by an architect, and somehow handed to us faster than I can say "we're gonna be late." The employees? Ridiculously nice. Like "are you sure this is real life?" nice. Courteous, friendly, and moving with the speed and precision of a NASCAR pit crew--yet every sandwich comes out looking like it's ready for its Instagram close-up. From the outside, it's a humble little hole-in-the-wall. Inside? Spotless. Cleaner than my kitchen on the one day a year I try to impress guests. You can tell this family doesn't just care about the food--they care about everything. Pride is baked into the walls... and the bagels. Bonus points for overhearing the owner casually chatting with locals about his shift ending and then coming back later that night to make more donuts and bagels like some kind of carb-loving superhero.
