Was looking for a taco spot in town after work and this hidden gem kept popping up everywhere. What caught my eye were the wet burritos and wet tortas -- those pictures looked way too good to ignore. So today I finally gave this taco joint a shot. Right away the service stood out. The person at the front was friendly, professional, and super helpful with recommendations. You can also see the taco man in the back making sure everything comes out fresh and cooked perfectly. The setup is small but cozy, tucked inside a store with a few tables and a TV. Definitely the kind of spot you sit down and enjoy instead of rushing out. Now the wet burrito... my LORD. That's what a burrito is supposed to be. Packed with flavorful meat, loaded with sauce, and they absolutely do not skimp on portions. Every bite was fire and I still had enough left over to take home. If you're in Madera, stop wasting time searching for tacos or burritos elsewhere. This hidden gem just became my new go-to spot. read more

The sit down food area is in the back of a gas station. They serve alcohol and have clear signs that say no alcohol beyond this point. We were quickly greeted with a smile, even though the cashier was putting together a large order. Several people were seated, waiting for to go orders. Cleanliness of food area: the floors were immaculate and the food cook and prep area were very clean. I noticed the cook washing his hands, the sink is visible from the front counter. All tables were clean, the trash cans were empty and clean. Lots of wall decor which was clean and decorated for Valentine's Day. The cashier, Hailey was asked for best menu items and we ordered those. Hailey is very enthusiastic about the food here, which isn't typical of cashiers. Usually it's idk maybe try this.. she knew immediately how to answer and what she specifically loved! Order: Pedro Special: which is bacon, ham, chorizo, sausage, beans, eggs, cheese and potatoes.. Shrimp wet taco: shrimp, cheese and a deliciously seasoned shredded bi with warm spices Heyy-dog tacos: seasoned and fried baked papa with chorizo fried crispy with red oil. Pastor street style taco: pastor meat, cilantro onion.. Green salsa: very bright flavors of lime and cilantro which brighten up and add that freshness to the fatty meats and fried tortillas. Tasted verrrrrrrrrrrry fresh made. Red salsa: had a nice flavor, with fresh cultural but I prefer green. Tasted veryyyyyyy fresh made. The shrimp wet taco was a definite 5/5 for both myself and boyfriend. The shrimp paired well with the warm spices added to the birria. I picked up hints of both cinnamon and clove. The birria is more on the traditional end and not the viral trend end. I tend to shy away from Birria due to the amount of grease and fat, while it was present, it was perfect blend, not overwhelming and didn't kill my stomach! Flavors were well, the cheese complimented it and the perfectly crispy fried tortillas coupled with the green chile salsa to brighten the entire pallet. The Pedro was HUGE, I couldn't wrap my hand around the burrito!! A massive burrito with perfect textured potatoes, very evenly proportioned, with all of the toppings. I expected it to have a heavy presence of the cheaper items like beans and potatoes, this was not the case! The pastor taco was lucious and all the different floral, acidic, salty notes could be picked up! Again, paired well with green salsa. Hey dog tacos: The chorizo used is a butcher style blend and not the cheap tubed stuff. I love butcher chorizo, without eggs, paired with potatoes!! The tacos were absolutely filled! I added a touch of salt, I'm a salt heavy person.. Customer service was really good!! You hear lots of positive talk coming from the kitchen area, even during super busy stressful times. Hailey is calling back to the cook what she has prepared, what is needed, what orders are complete and how she completed them. Doing all of this she is managing phones, counter orders, fake calls of people claiming they ordered food on Uber Eats and communicating the entire time with the cook. What an asset of an employee and a great multitasker! Will we return: Based on customer service alone, yes. The quantity versus quality was also great, especially in today's economy! We ordered via DoorDash & this restaurant exceeded our expectations! We tried Asada Fries & Birria Quesadilla, such big portions! The Asada Fries were delicious, I didn't really enjoy the nacho cheese because it made the fries soggy but it was still delicious. The Birriaaaa Quesadilla is by far the best I've had. Stuffed with PLENTY of birria & flavor was amazing. Their salsas were on point, flavor and spice. We will definitely be ordering or visiting soon! read more

We watched a TT video that led us to this hidden gem. Employees are so friendly and the menu is perfect. I ordered 2 tacos. 1 de Pastor with cheese & avocado the other shrimp. Both were amazing! First glance, they are large tacos filled with meat and fillings. The shrimp was cooked in the birria sauce giving them an extra kick of deliciousness! My man ordered the wet torta De Asada. It was bigger than BIG! Look at the pics for proof! The bread had a slight crunch that was so good but unexplainable. He also ordered the rolled taquito plate that came with rice and beans. Also really good. The beans feel like they are homemade, because they are. The owner makes everything fresh himself! This place had us so excited that we returned again today to try the breakfast burritos! We ordered the Pedro's special to split. It has 4 different meats with beans and potatoes. Chefs kiss! HIGHLY RECOMMENDED! Meat lovers, vegetarians and vegans... this place has something for everyone. Taco Man is a newer restaurant establishment however it is a widely successful taco truck business that had been around for many years. The owner, Joseph G., is incredibly kind and caring. He has excellent communication, costumer service and caters large events. The menu has lots of delicious Mexican food options as well as desserts like brownies and lemonades. Here is a pic of a burrito I got that has soyrizo, potatoes and beans! It's all vegan. I got a side of avocado & pico de gallo. Very excited that this business is now a fully operating restaurant in addition to the taco truck and I appreciate the tasty food and the hard working/friendly staff. Nonstop talk about this food from my foodie community. The portions are generous and more flavorful with each bit that I had. Multiple visits to try different things and I am glad have tried this place taste just like mother used to make. Service was quick and efficient and served with a smile. The first time we ate here everything was DELICIOUS! Unfortunately we ordered DoorDash tonight and the results weren't as good. Food was great, but the shrimp fries were missing the sour cream and pico that was requested, and the loaded potato didnt include any of the toppings that were in the menu picture (onion, cilantro, sour cream). Their menu should list what is included, and what needs to be requested if they arent going to include whats in the photos. But I guess they dont pay attention to additional requests either since they didnt include the sour cream or pico for the shrimp fries. TACO TRUCK RENTAL REVIEW: Recently had them rented out for my baby shower and was incredibly disappointed with their service. So many things to go over. We did not get the truck that their advertisements promised, instead we got two guys with a couple grilles that they wheeled up. We also didn't get the Agua Fresca their ad offers as well. They didn't cook all of the food that was purchased ($700 worth) and said "yeah no we're taking this back. It's not our fault your guests didn't eat all of it." They only gave us what was on the grills which was definitely not what was purchased. They also limited the amount of food we could go up at a time and get, but did let us go for multiple plates? I get the reasoning for that but they should've let the amount be determined by the host and vendor, not them if it was for the sake of making sure all of the guests were able to enjoy a plate. The two guys were that attended were very unprofessional towards the end when they were asked about the food that they were taking back (that was purchased for the event) and accused us of trying to press them to drink alcohol when we only OFFERED them a margarita that was supplied by a bartender from the party. Which also happened to be the father of the baby the shower was for. They professionally declined which was great and fine, no one pressed it. We didn't want to NOT offer them anything, we still offered desserts and other beverages as well but tried to shame us for offering alcohol because "they were a sober group" disclose that if you want to shame someone for being kind, if not then don't make it a big deal. I'll never not offer food or drinks to anyone's whose service we pay for. Call me crazy, but thats borderline rude. Next day the owner Joseph reached out and verified that they should've given us all the food but refused to offer partial refund for the inconvenience saying "I am not willing to do that, but you can come and pick up the food if you want." He wasn't customer friendly whatsoever and tried to accuse my family of some nasty things. All he wanted to do was argue about everything over the phone and made it very clear that he didn't want to take responsibility for the mistake of his employees. Will never ever EVER recommend this place, I will only ever be warning people about our experience. The asada was tasteless, as if it was boiled rather than grilled. Looking through the reviews, other ppl have confirmed this thought as well throughout the years. Pls if you need a taco truck for an event, go somewhere else. Don't risk it with this business. I attended a function today at M.B. Church off 145 & Walnut. Where Taco man served all you can eat tacos. Clean neat & super tasty . Good people working that truck/ trailer . Will look them up for more great food! read more
