Food is good but anytime I order over the phone, my order is either wrong or incomplete. So inconvenient especially if you're on your lunch.

To the guy working the cashier today July 18, 2026 at 2:45 pm (and has been working there for a bit.) Change your bad attitude you act like every ask from customers is a major inconvenience. And then making comments in Spanish to your cook about customers in front of them is rude. Get another job because you obviously don't want to deal with customers and any of their requests. I've been coming here for YEARS and today was the first time I was treated rudely. I am not sure if I will be coming back honestly. The ladies that usually work here are never rude, but this new guy needs to get a new job asap he's going to hurt their business by making the regular customers mad and being rude to them when the ask for literally ONE thing. read more

Visited taco express on the recommendation of a local and what a wonderful experience! The food was absolutely delicious and big portions of protein on the taco. They certainly didn't skimp on the amount of meat they placed on the tacos which was great! This was a walk and order at the counter so can't much about the service other they the person taking our order was nice and friendly. The ambiance is local small town taqueria. This is certainly a great place to eat and the I'll be back again to eat their delicious and tasty tacos! Only one thing is I wished they had other aguas frescas like Melon or Sandia or limonada! I had not been to this place in over 5 years due to myself moving out of Madera. I used to come here every other day after work, and what I enjoyed was the consistency on the quality, as well as presentation of the food. Many other places make burritos that are very heavy, and greasy. This place makes it very balanced with the ingredients, and it does not fall apart, even when sliced. read more

Let me start off by saying that the food here is absolutely Delicious every time! There are meats that I have never liked at other restaurants that I do enjoy here for example- their carnitas, lengua and tripas are on point!! In my opinion those meats are hard to please people anyways Every so often my husband and I go to taco express to enjoy a meal for my husband's lunch time and today I forgot my baby's stroller, instead of having my son in his car seat on the floor or on a regular chair, Raul helped me turn the high chair upside down to seat him closer and at eye level which was a big help because he was going to drink his baby bottle I am so thankful for him for helping me this morning. I always see him go above and beyond he has great costumer service! If you haven't tried taco express in Madera, I recommend that you do, you won't be disappointed read more

This is my new spot to have good eats with my co workers. My Madera co workers are so enthused that I am an extreme yelper and likes to take me to new places to yelp. My native Maderan decided to come here to introduce me to this Taco place we both haven't tried. Omg, this place gets so packed during Lunch time as this location is right across the street from Madera High School. You can tell this place is good when the line is outside the door. My first time here I got the Chile Verde tacos which were very moist and tasty. I have ate here a few times and mostly get the Gordita or the Chile Verde nachos which are delicious and flavorful. I know I am gonna miss eating here once I start my new job in Fresno. I have seriously had yummy dinners and lunches here. The staff is very friendly and it is always clean inside. They offer so many items and the items I have tried has always been good. It is recommended to either come exactly at 12pm or after 1:30pm due to the lunch rush and high schoolers. The Horchaka, Piña, and Jamica are all processed as I asked them if they are real or fresh and they informed me that it is power mixed with water so gross. I hate the powder version of the drinks as it doesn't taste as good as the real deal. There is limited seating but each time I've gone I have always had seating with no problem. I love this place and I am already a regular here. Yummy food and great company you can't go wrong! read more

The service is always amazing here. The quality of the food is one of the best in Madera. On Sundays they have homemade tortillas. Today I tried the birria tacos and it was amazing spicy, saucy and just perfect in every way. Not many restraints have maintained their quality through COVID and the high prices we are seeing in grocery stores but this is truly a gem in Madera. read more

I have stopped for chicken tacos a number of times. The (corn) tortillas are small, but very soft, and the white meat chicken is juicy and there is a ton of cilantro. These are delicious tacos! The location is close to a high school, so there are some times that it is busy with high school students and there are a ton of high school student foods available too (chips, candy, soft drinks), but those tacos are delicious. There is a small outdoor patio in front of the store, which is nice for getting a bit of Vitamin D in the winter. read more

Good customer service an needless to say the tacos and sopes don't disappoint and they are reasonably priced. You do wait wait roughly about 10 mins for your order if you walk in and if you don't call your order in ahead of time but hey for fresh food can't really complain least it's not sitting under a heat lamp. I found them via yelp and ordered the Grande Carne asada fries, the meat was close to non existent, imagine tiny bacon bit size pieces layered on like sprinkles.. Next no real shredded cheese on the asada fries, they use nacho cheese sauce.. I grew up in San Diego I know real carne asada fries.. They dont use nacho cheese sauce. This review is for the Carne Asada Fries only - BEWARE WHEN ORDERING THIS ITEM. If you simply say "asada fries" while ordering, you will end up with a plate full of cheese only. This was my reality after calling in an order. I had no idea there was "regular" and "supreme", and when I came home all my excitement turned into disappointment when I had a take-out box full of cheese. IF YOU WANT ALL THE TOPPINGS, MUST SAY "SUPREME". I really wish they would let you know and make it clear that there two kinds of asada fries instead of simply assuming you want regular. My wife and I have been wanting to try this new Mexican restaurant in Madera near the high school. So today for lunch we stopped for a quick bite to eat. This is a small, eight table place without much in the way of decor. I'm sure in time decorations will go up and the place will develop some character. The music from the stereo was a little loud which made hear the gentleman taking our orders a little difficult but we got through it. I ordered the burrito supreme and my wife ordered the quesadillas. Both chicken and both were about $5.50 each. We also ordered drinks and out total was around $15. Not bad for the food we got. The food came to us very quickly and the presentation was very nice. I enjoyed my burrito which was a very nice size. My wife liked hers too and I even snuck a taste when she wasn't looking. We both left very full and my wife had to get a box for the rest of hers (if she doesn't eat it by 8pm, its free game). I would have given this place five stars if it weren't for two things. They charged me 50 cents to us my credit card. I am sorry that is a cost of doing business. Make up your product to cover the transaction fees for credit and debit cards. It's pretty tacky to add on another fee when I am trying to pay you. Here is a tip to those working on tips, for me it will come out of your tip if I have to pay a fee. The second issue I had was charging for refills when the soda machine is out in the middle of the restaurant for self-service. I paid $1.79 for a medium drink, there is enough of a profit margin in that price for refills. But after thinking about their location, maybe this is something the owner had to implement because of the high school crowd. A medium soda with five kids sharing a nacho might increase the food cost on that order. So I think next time I am there I order a large without ice. Over all I would highly recommend this restaurant for anyone seeking to not wait in long lines at Sal's or Burrito King on Sunday. If you're looking for a quick in and out lunch, this is your place. If you're on a date and are looking for a place that won't keep you from buying popcorn at the movies, this is your place. They also serve hamburgers for that one person in your group that just won't do Mexican. A three taco plate with rice and beans is only $5.00. read more

Madera has plenty of choices when it comes to Mexican food, especially tacos. Reason for my visit's to Taco Express- it is close to my work. This establishment is kept clean and has average Mexican food. No complaints with the food served here, at least nothing I have ordered has been bad. I would give a better rating if the customer service was better and if they took extra steps to make the food experience something to brag about. The red and green salsa is nothing special- a little watered down. There is two four seat tables outside in a grassy area, as well as 8 or so tables inside. There is one TV. Today on my visit the TV had a music video playing on it and the TV was so loud my coworker had to take his phone call outside. While eating inside a song came on the TV and if I had some little kids with me I would not have been happy camper, as the song was saying I want to f**k you to sleep or (the explicit version) ?? With the feedback of reviews businesses can fix issues to make the customer experience we all want, so I hope notes are being taken here. read more
