Everything here is pretty much okay: the service is okay, the atmosphere is okay, the chicken is okay, the beans are okay... and on. The rice I was served was overlooked and hard, presumably from the bottom of the pot. On the flip side, the chorizo was super-delicious, and made up for the inedible arroz. I went to get my mother, wife, n daughter some menudo since I heard it was good. What I wasn't told is that it takes 45 minutes to get n other people that come in after you will get theirs first. So when this was mentioned there was no apology but the lie of they were waiting on tortillas which they gave to the previous people. As i expressed my dislike I wasn't apologized to but rudely was told plz don't return. Trust me my business will go somewhere else! After a disappointing experience at Maria's Tacos, I was determined to find some solid Mexican food in Madera. Tacos Express is pretty good....although not "express". The food was hot, tasted fresh and I will definitely be a repeat customer when I return to visit my parents. I feel it's better for take-out than dine-in. There is a .99 charge for refills which seems silly. The woman who took my order (which I assume was the owner) was friendly, but never made eye contact until I tried to create a further conversation (unfortunate as I was the only one in the restaurant). The price is very reasonable for Madera and comparable to those I am used to in Los Angeles. After reading a review from a previous customer, I made sure to bring cash as I did not want to pay a .50 surcharge for using a credit/debit card. This place is alright. They did not have carnitas, which was very disappointing but I ended up getting 3 asada & 1 chicken taco. I'm not a big fan of chicken in my Mexican food but it was moist and pretty tasty. The steak was flavorfull, a little chewy but over all fair. The price you can't beat, $1.75 a taco. I would give this place another try, especially to see if they have carnitas next time. read more

I've been here a few times because it's my sons favorite place for asada fries. I usually try a different item on the menu and everything I've had has been good. Enchiladas were good, chorizo and papas Pambazo was pretty good, tacos ok small tortilla lots of meat, salsas were ehhh. Their service has always been really good the times I've been there but I've never gone when it's really busy. Overall it's an slightly above average taco place in a town with tons of options for tacos. read more

So I placed a phone order and when I arrived they basically said they didn't have cheese and couldn't make my order (2 orders of asada fries) didn't receive a call nor did they let me know my order was cancelled at all. This was my first time trying this place out. I ordered the Asada fries, they gave me an option of regular or Supreme. I just chose regular, which is just the meat and cheese sauce. In my opinion, it was alright, the cheese had a hint of spice which was really good and the steak was very well seasoned. If you order the Supreme, I believe you will just get like sour cream and tomatos on top. I also tried their Agua de Horchata, which was ok BTW. Used to come in all the time, but in the past year or so the service has gone down. We went in about 2 weeks ago and it was empty, around 3pm, the girl told us it would be about 5 minutes before she could even take our order, so ok..10 minutes later (and now there are about 4 more people in line) we realize that she is on a personal call?! Really...you could of at least took our order. We ended up just walking out and so did a couple other people in line. Also, the time before that my husband ordered his food without crema and when we got it?, it had crema. He had to pay for another one because they would not make a new one for him. This place has been open maybe a couple of years now. I wanted to finally try this place. Was tired of this other local taco place always being so busy and having to wait almost an hour sometimes from the time you walked in to the time you picked up your food. Taco Express is good, the only thing that kind of bothers me is the waiting when there are a decent amount of people. It would be nice to see Taco Express change things up & possibly have a little section for pick ups only. I had to wait 15 minutes in a line just to say that I'm there to pick up an order. The only reason why I ordered ahead of time was to avoid the wait. Other than that, it's a good place for good food. Hopefully they do make some changes though. read more

My wife and I love their breakfast burritos. I would say they are the best in town. They are perfectly assembled, with a tasty bite every time. Our second favorite item on the menu are the enchiladas. They are different from what you would get from most places here in Madera. Not saucy at all but they always have a good taste. I like the cubed carrots and potatoes. They add some texture that enhances the dish. I haven't tried a lot of items on the menu but those are for sure my favorite. read more

The owner/cook/employee should find a sitter for her son, it was aggravating trying to enjoy our food after waiting so long and having her child repeatedly ring the service bell over and over while watching sponge Bob square pants on the TV. Autentica comida michoacana. Absolutely love The pambazo!!! It's like eating an enchilada and a torta all in one! This place hasn't been here long but it's delicious and I hope it makes it. A Favorite of my wife and I, but not for the Tacos. We LoVe their "Flautas". OMG the Flautas are Delicious! They come with the works! I also personally think they have the best Burrito for the Price in Madera. A huge Asada burrito for like $5. I have NOT tried their Tacos though. I'm sure they are Bomb though. read more
