Found this food truck on Yelp while we were on the way to Lake Don Pedro! So glad we stopped by because I love supporting small/family owned food places. Why? Because they're usually super friendly and the food always tastes very homey. That was the case for this food truck!! I didn't know which style of Asian food it was but from seeing their food truck artwork, I can see they're probably a Hmong family. The food was so good and full of southeast Asian flavors. We ordered the BBQ chicken and beef with chow mein and rice + a side of their homemade sausages! It's like a Laos/hmong style sausage, super delicious!! Their pepper sauce on the side is an absolute must for added acidity, spicy, and overall umami flavor. I will stop by again anytime we're in the area!! Super friendly owner as well. Finally gave this truck after seeing all the yelp reviews. First of all...service is a 13/10! So glad I came on a Wednesday because their special was Chicken Katsu and it did not disappoint! Ordered steamed rice, mixed veggies, and chow mein while I was at it. I wasn't a fan of the chow mein but everything else was delicious and servings are enough for several meals! The noodles were sweet with little to no bean stalk! I find that great because I really don't care for bean stalk texture. The red chimichuri sauce was fire a great touch to the sticky rice. The chicken and riblets were exceptionally delicious with the way they were prepared and cook them. The service was so fast by the time I called to place and order, get in my car and drive there about 7-10 min. First of all, the service, TOP TIER! Second, the food sealed the deal! We got the chicken with chow mein, and the pork ribs yesterday for $17!!!! Both my husband and I ate from that. We came back today for the beef and pork chop and NOTHING or NOWHERE beats it. They are located at a great spot right off the freeway. The portions are great and so are the prices! As many food trucks, this place does not have seating so it's a grab-and-go situation! Stopped by around 3:30pm on a Thursday and there was no wait! You can not beat the prices here! Pick a protein and a choice of side for TEN BUCKS and a really good portion size! We got the Asian Style Pork Riblets and Asian Style Beef Short Rib with half and half chow mein and fried rice. Everything was good! The meat was tender and flavorful. The chow mein noodles were THICK and had a peppery flavor. The fried rice was a great side and compliment to the meat. Between the two proteins, I think the riblets are the go-to! Aside from the food, what makes this place a 5-star for me is the service. The man taking our order was incredibly nice! He asked if it was our first time and as a warm welcome he gave us their pepper sauce on the house! Their pepper sauce is definitely a MUST! Great food for a great deal! Bad news. They got rid of the BEST item, the beef short ribs and replaced them with a flavorless beef teriyaki. It's just asada meat with maybe a splash of teriyaki. So bummed out. Beef spare ribs had a great flavor. Herbs were pronounced enough but would've liked more. The quality of the beef was good, too. I would criticize the process that the butchered spare rib received. I had a lot of bone fragments. At first it was negligible, but with the amount that I experienced by mid meal, I have to admit, marred the experience. The prep is just as important as the finishing touch. Either a cleaner cut from their butcher or a post butcher cleaning of fragments would've made a world of difference. Nonetheless, I have to say that their chili dip is spectacular. It's a Thai style with a hint of fish sauce. Don't be deterred, it does not take over the experience, just adds to it and for 50 cents is absolutely worth it. Oh, and it deserved sticky rice. So I got sticky rice. Which is SPLENDIFEROUS to "tut" (dip in Lao) into the chili sauce. The service was superb. Extraordinarily considerate and would hope to see these two younger staff serve me again in the future! read more

It's laughable how long I have waited to try Asian Style Kitchen. This food truck slaps! Asian Style Kitchen is located in the Bob's Auto Works parking lot, on East Main street in Merced. There's a small parking lot and plenty of street parking. They don't have any type of seating so plan accordingly. I stopped by around noon on a Friday and to my surprise, they weren't too busy. The service was so great! I mentioned it was my first time trying them out and they were helpful on picking out some of their best items, even offered for me to try their chili sauce on the house. It's clear they are so appreciative of their customers and want to offer a great experience overall. Food came out fairly quickly. If you in a rush, be sure to call in your order ahead of time. On to the goods: I love me some thick chow mien and these are thiCK! The noods were a perfect combination of peppery and sweet, but not overly sweet. The veggies in the chow mein were steamed but still had a nice crunch to them. The beef riblets are a no brainer, must try. So tender and flavorful. Everything is sold a la carte. You cannot beat these prices, the side of chow mien and ribs was under 10 bucks. I was uncomfortably full after because I couldn't stop eating it. My mouth is now watering and I'm already planning my next visit. read more

Hey there Asian Styles, So you are a nice option to check out There is not many Asian options out here to begin with so the more options the better. I just wish you weren't so out there in the corner of Merced. Having said that, your food is pretty good if people just go with the expectation that it's a food truck. It's not going to be fancy or nuanced, it's just simple solid food with smaller portions and luckily decent prices. The chow mein is surprising well done (chewy!) and the meats are pretty good. The ribs are my hands down my favorite. The Katsu.. I find a little too flat and sweet. The rest is somewhere in between tho lot of it just preferences. Keep up the good work! This review is long overdue! Driving thru on our way to Yosemite, we wanted to grab something to eat before dark. A.S.K pulled up on here--the reviews and photos were enticing. And also, the truck was located right off the freeway for easy access. I ordered the beef and my husband went for the porch chop. Customer service was on point and our food came out hot and fresh. I don't remember it taking too long. We chowed down in our car. Our food was soo good and as my husband would say, "Make ya wanna smack yo mama!" Haha. Both the beef and pork were so tender. Went perfect with the sticky rice. The chili sauce gave it that extra oomph. Omg this food was delish. Very generous portions for the price--enough for probably 2 meals. I shared with my son. The food was so good my husband didn't leave a single crumb behind... not even a grain of rice. We would've eaten there again on our way home if they were open. Looked up some food on google and found this food truck! The guy who rung me up was friendly and gave me some recommendations since it was my first time going. The plates were reasonably priced and packed very full so you def get your moneys worth(I have lunch for tomorrow which I love). The noodles, fried rice and grilled chicken were all very good, my favorite was definitely the noodles but everything tasted great. The chicken had a very nice flavor to them and didn't need any sauce imo (they gave me s&s sauce on the side tho which was very kind!).
