Ordered this on a Friday evening, something like an hour before closing and even though they quoted us 20 minutes when ordering over the phone, we came earlier and it was much faster than quoted! The truck is located behind a gas station. It's not actually within the gas station but on the other side and is separated by cement. It is located right next to the freeway, but there is a lot of lighting from the poles and the gas station. We ordered 2 al pastor and 2 asada normal tacos. Additionally, we ordered a burrito or super burrito (carne asada). The tacos were amazing! They were cooked perfectly and quite flavorful. The salsa is nice and spicy and the great part is that they give you radishes, pickled carrots, and a pickled jalapeno. I also like the burrito a lot, but not as much as the tacos. From the photo, you can see that there was a lot of crema in the burrito, so there were periods were some bites were mostly sour cream. This is probably one of the better taco truck spots in Merced! Equal if not better than the burritos in San Jose! Its also cheaper in merced compared to SJ. Highly recommend to anyone traveling in the area and need to get their mexican food fix. read more

Tried Tacos Durango based on the yelp reviews. They were super busy which is always a good sign. I order 4 carnitas taco supreme. They were pretty good the taco shells could of been cooked a little longer. The meat was packed full of flavor and crispy, just like I like it. They only accept cash. There is a ATM at the gas station near. That is something I wish I knew. It's very affordable so take the family. read more

Omg, I've always drove passed this place and never tried it. Finally did today and mmm good. Just got a regular carne asada taco with everything on it. I like the sides it comes with. Honestly they taste like any taco truck the only thing that i liked a lot was that the meat was crispy! I would say, the tortilla were a little greasy though, but it's okay. Still good. I am always looking for a new taco truck on my way down 99. Today it was Tacos Durango in Merced. The tacos do not disappoint. Very flavorful- tried the carne asada. Covered in cilantro- I love that. I upgraded to add the cheese and sour cream- hubby did the regular. I got much more than a quarters worth of pleasure from those additions. This will be a repeat- do over- thanks for a great lunch even COVID could not destroy. read more

Torta was bomb. Good bread and good carnitas. Good price. The supreme burritos we good. The carnitas and carne asada and brains were tasty and well cooked. Good spicy sauce. Tacos were a bit small but they were well made with good seasoning. The neighborhood can be intimidating but the food is good and prices are good too. $6 for a supreme burrito has meat, cheese, sour cream, rice, beans, salsa with jalapeño, carrots and radish in the side. read more

This place needs more recognition! It has amazing tacos! It's only $1.25 for a taco (granted they're small)! I would have to say they have the best pollo tacos I ever had, and I have had a lot of tacos from here in Merced and from the Bay Area. Their asada is also very good. The only reason I'm not giving the full 5 stars is that the al pastor isn't the best. It's not bad but nothing special and I wish the tacos were a bit bigger. However I'm glad my housemate told me to come here because I found the best spot for tacos in Merced. Everything else on their menu is also pretty cheap.
