Grilled chicken, noodles, sticky rice, riblets, Asian style beef!!

The noodles were sweet with little to no bean stalk! I find that great because I really don't care for bean stalk texture. The red chimichuri sauce was fire a great touch to the sticky rice. The chicken and riblets were exceptionally delicious with the way they were prepared and cook them. The service was so fast by the time I called to place and order, get in my car and drive there about 7-10 min. Overall the truck is in a decent spot it offers a good amount of parking definitely convenient for all because it's pretty much in a neighborhood corner.

We stopped by this food truck on the way home from Yosemite and ordered the short ribs, chow mien, and grilled chicken. They gave us a spicy sauce (I think I tasted some Thai chilli in there?) which went really well with everything, especially the chicken. Service was excellent as well

Asian Style Beef Short Rib, half chow mein and half fried rice

Don't even have to A.S.K., this place is good - no question about it. Was already in the area and found this place on Yelp! As many food trucks, this place does not have seating so it's a grab-and-go situation! Stopped by around 3:30pm on a Thursday and there was no wait! You can not beat the prices here! Pick a protein and a choice of side for TEN BUCKS and a really good portion size! We got the Asian Style Pork Riblets and Asian Style Beef Short Rib with half and half chow mein and fried rice. Everything was good! The meat was tender and flavorful. The chow mein noodles were THICK and had a peppery flavor. The fried rice was a great side and compliment to the meat. Between the two proteins, I think the riblets are the go-to! Aside from the food, what makes this place a 5-star for me is the service. The man taking our order was incredibly nice! He asked if it was our first time and as a warm welcome he gave us their pepper sauce on the house! Their pepper sauce is definitely a MUST! Great food for a great deal! If you're in Merced and have a hankering for Asian food, give this place a shot!

Bad news. They got rid of the BEST item, the beef short ribs and replaced them with a flavorless beef teriyaki. It's just asada meat with maybe a splash of teriyaki. So bummed out. Why take off your best item and replace it with cheep meat? Hopefully they will bring back the good stuff. The service is great.

Beef spare ribs had a great flavor. Herbs were pronounced enough but would've liked more. The quality of the beef was good, too. I would criticize the process that the butchered spare rib received. I had a lot of bone fragments. At first it was negligible, but with the amount that I experienced by mid meal, I have to admit, marred the experience. The prep is just as important as the finishing touch. Either a cleaner cut from their butcher or a post butcher cleaning of fragments would've made a world of difference. Nonetheless, I have to say that their chili dip is spectacular. It's a Thai style with a hint of fish sauce. Don't be deterred, it does not take over the experience, just adds to it and for 50 cents is absolutely worth it. Oh, and it deserved sticky rice. So I got sticky rice. Which is SPLENDIFEROUS to "tut" (dip in Lao) into the chili sauce. The service was superb. Extraordinarily considerate and would hope to see these two younger staff serve me again in the future!

It's laughable how long I have waited to try Asian Style Kitchen. This food truck slaps! Asian Style Kitchen is located in the Bob's Auto Works parking lot, on East Main street in Merced. There's a small parking lot and plenty of street parking. They don't have any type of seating so plan accordingly. I stopped by around noon on a Friday and to my surprise, they weren't too busy. The service was so great! I mentioned it was my first time trying them out and they were helpful on picking out some of their best items, even offered for me to try their chili sauce on the house. It's clear they are so appreciative of their customers and want to offer a great experience overall. Food came out fairly quickly. If you in a rush, be sure to call in your order ahead of time. On to the goods: I love me some thick chow mien and these are thiCK! The noods were a perfect combination of peppery and sweet, but not overly sweet. The veggies in the chow mein were steamed but still had a nice crunch to them. The beef riblets are a no brainer, must try. So tender and flavorful. Everything is sold a la carte. You cannot beat these prices, the side of chow mien and ribs was under 10 bucks. I was uncomfortably full after because I couldn't stop eating it. My mouth is now watering and I'm already planning my next visit.

Hey there Asian Styles, So you are a nice option to check out There is not many Asian options out here to begin with so the more options the better. I just wish you weren't so out there in the corner of Merced. Having said that, your food is pretty good if people just go with the expectation that it's a food truck. It's not going to be fancy or nuanced, it's just simple solid food with smaller portions and luckily decent prices. The chow mein is surprising well done (chewy!) and the meats are pretty good. The ribs are my hands down my favorite. The Katsu.. I find a little too flat and sweet. The rest is somewhere in between tho lot of it just preferences. Keep up the good work! Listen!!! This food is what you need in your life. Everything I've had from here is of great quality and you can tell it was made with love. I love an authentic meal for a good price and ASK doesn't disappoint. Do yourself a favor and get an extra pepper sauce. Customer service is truly one of a kind. The folks treat you like family and are always positive. It feels good to support this business based on quality, heart and their connection to Merced. The owner is a local, respectable, friend to everyone. I have boujie-er tastebuds than what Merced has to offer on the surface level. This place is a go to for amazing food at an amazing deal. I have had every item on the menu and there isn't a single item that isn't a repeat. The katsu is unlike anything you've ever had before, and pick any protein and you will not be disappointed. Never dry, packed with flavor, and always fresh. Their chili oil sauce is some of the best I've ever had. Ton does such a great job! Love this truck. It's a weekly stop for us. read more

Just spent a week in Merced. I ate dinner at Asian Style kitchen almost every night I was there. The food is not only outstanding, the prices are great! My favorite was the short ribs with a side of chow main. I tried many other items on the menu and was not disappointed by any of them. Super fast friendly service and great food. This is by far the BEST Asian style food in town! They have a super nice and clean food truck with close proximity to access the 99 and Yosemite. They offer amazing pork and beef ribs, sausage and chicken that is marinated to perfection along with rice and chow mein! These guys know flavor! The chili sauce they make fresh is FIRE . The owner is so nice, friendly and hospitable you will adore him! I highly recommend you give them a try your taste buds will thank you for it! read more

I feel like I've been getting really lucky lately. This meal.. this meal was absolutely delicious. It also was bigger than I expected. I've been traveling for work and have to eat out a lot, and it's so easy to be disappointed. This meal has made me so happy. It is everything I dreamed it would be based off the photos. Do not skip on the beef ribs. They were delicious! The rice was okay, pretty standard. The chow mein was good. The Matus was also good although I wish there was some kind of teriyaki sauce or something similar to go with it. Their homemade chilli sauce was really good too. read more

Food was delicious especially the Ribblets, my only concern is the PEPPER. I wish they would put it in a bigger container, im very big on spice when it comes to Asian food, but the little cups were too small. I ended up making my own pepper. Location is kinda hidden, wish it was a alot closer to my workplace. Other than that I'm proud to see an Asian food truck! read more

Pretty affordable and great tasting food. They Sell everything à la cart so you can create your own combo. My husband and I tried the sausage, chicken and riblets which were all very flavorful. The only downside is that they do not have a veggie side option so your meal is mostly just protein and carbs. Would love if they brought veggies to the menu to make it an even more balanced meal. FAVE FOOD TRUCK IN MERCED!! I'm a regular. The best short ribs I've tried!!! Love their pork chops too and their sauce (drool) spicy but super good! My reason for 4 stars instead of 5 is I feel like the chicken needs improvement. It seems broiled and I think will be much better grilled or bbq'd (suggestion for improvement). For this reason, I never order chicken but I order everything else! lol read more
