The service here is what really won me over. Everyone was so kind and it felt like family here. The food is comforting and focused on seafood. I really enjoyed their Shrimp Ceviche as it was fresh and tangy with a kick of spice. Definitely good to get a seafood platter to share. It comes with a variety including some fish. The also made it special by celebrating with an hearty flan that was nice and eggy too! The inside has a fun and playful seafood mural as well. She didn't greet me, barely made eye contact, handed me my receipt like it was trash, and didn't even say "thank you." Just turned right back to her convo like I wasn't standing there spending my money. It's wild -- the food said "Welcome!" but the staff said "Why are you here?" This place always hits the spot! And the service is fantastic. We used to live nearby and visit often. We moved away but still make the drive once in a while because it's that good. Everything is tasty but we usually go with the langostinos with garlic and a grilled fish with diabla sauce. All the fish is excellent but the trout is our go-to. Honestly I am so disappointed by this place, but I gave them 3 stars because of the waitress and the guacamole was good! I ordered the fajitas which were so disappointing! They added mushrooms which I am allergic to! Second the tilapia had no meat on it and the food was not fresh! As we were eating we noticed the chef opened up a freezer across from us and boom all the frozen seafood was taken out including the oysters! Just went in and ordered a chicken burrito (12.99) and Mojarra Frita (16.99) when the waitress asked if we would like to upgrade to the red snapper. We said yes thinking it would be a small upcharge of a few dollars. We expected a bill in the mid $30 range but come to find out that the red snapper that was "suggested" to us is DOUBLE THE PRICE and our bill came out to over $50! When I brought this up, the waitress just said sorry, it's the house special that's why it's so expensive, and when I asked why she didnt tell us it would be so much more expensive she just looked at me and said "sorry". If you are going to suggest food and up charge somebody for something, the least you can do is let them know that the food is so much more preposterously higher (ESPECIALLY WHEN IT IS DOUBLE THE PRICE!!!!). Absolutely ridiculous, make sure to ask prices before you order anything they suggest otherwise they'll just try to hike up your bill as high as possible. read more

Went to grab take out from this neighborhood seafood restaurant and man what a treat. Got their whole grilled fish (they had snapper that night) as well as their mixed seafood grill for one (a called a Parilla), this thing ended up feeding 3 people. The whole fish was all carte, but the Parilla came with rice. They also provided tortilla and salsa with chips. This was take out so I also loved that they prepared the food pretty fast from the time I called in to pick up was about 20 min which basically the time it took for me to drive over. The restaurant has a nice vibe, there were a few diners when I came so it was pretty chill. I think we'll have to plan for a dinner out when we want a quiet seafood dinner out. I almost liked my meal here - almost --- but the atmosphere was creepy - and the place was empty - and the order was messed up. I wouldn't be so critical - but I brought my girlfriend her as our first meal out together when she came to see me in LA - and I needed this place to make her love eating food in Los Angeles - and it did not do that. She politely said that the meal was okay - but she let me know over and over again afterwards that she did not like LA's Mexican food. And it was not cheap. I guess I'm used to the moist and tender filet I guess at the Peruvian place I like. This was a really big fish stick! Thin, dry, and flavorless. No amount of lemon, salsa or guac could salvage it. Why: The service by the owner and our server Yolanda was by far the best I have experienced in such a long time! Yolanda consistently proved to go above and beyond throughout the duration we were there. Ironically, I watched the owner change the TV station when a family with kids came in to eat (he changed it to a cartoon station for the kids to enjoy their stay). The owner is beyond hospitable and friendly- we're giving him all the stars, he made us feel like royalty! The food is four stars and the prices are decent, the restaurant itself is very clean and all the waitresses/customer service staff are all wearing masks so that is a plus plus! I normally go to a place a few times before I review but I was so impressed with the service and the food that I decided to share my experience. - chips and salsa and pico de gallo: yummy... where the adage goes that you can tell a good restaurant by their bread, this adage can go with tortilla chips and salsa with Mexican restaurants. complimentary soup- good way to clear your palette for the rest of the meal. - guacamole- thumbs up! very fresh and made with quality ingredients. - raw oysters- OMG... so fresh. with a dash of hot sauce and lime, i can easily order a second round - tostada de ceviche- again, fresh and light. tortilla stayed crisp til the last bite - fish taco- this is not your ordinary fried battered fish. they added their sauce and fixings to it. - shrimp tacos dorado- highly recommended! -michelada made with modelo negro- refreshing and not too salty. a bit watered down but it's okay. i was still content with it. they are so super friendly and accomodating, always checking up on us and seeing what we needed. the ambiance is for families. it's not super fancy but cozy enough to sit back and watch a soccer game with good food We are definitely coming back here to try the rest of the menu... and definitely for the fresh raw oysters and drinks. that alone is something that will bring me back. Wow! I had been looking for a marisco place that wasn't full of young drunks! I found this place on Yelp of course! The staff was very friendly and was able to take our drink order right away. She also brought us complimentary chips and salsa along with veggie soup! Delicious! She was somewhat attentive through out our visit. The decor is very Nayarit style. Very cute. They have TVs on each end of the place. I had the camarones aguados which are like "agua chiles" my all time favorite marisco dish. Amazingly delicious. So spicy, lemony and just PERFECT! So far best ones I've had. I also had a tostada mixta which is shrimp, scallops and octopus. Which was also delicious and very packed. I love places that stack on the good stuff! My bf had ceviche de camaron and he also liked it. We had modelo micheladas and they were just okay. But as long as the food was great that's all that matters. They're open during this COVID-19 and have set up and open outdoor area outside that's so pretty. It looks almost like a casual garden with little chairs and tables. The food was delicious and most of all seafood was fresh. The staff is super friendly, inviting and warm. The owner came out to greet us and ask if everything was ok. Such a sweet quaint place. We went during lunchtime. I really recommend the Campechana (all seafood). I had never seen such a nice presentation of a campechana. read more
