Ceviche
Terry P.

I enjoy this restaurant, maybe more than I should. The food is good, the service is good, and the ambiance is good. The grilled shrimp plate is the plate to get here. Nice huge shrimps that are grilled to near perfection. Oh, the shrimp ceviche is also really good! If you're craving some authentic Mexican flavor, this place will do, but it's not a place to drive far to get to. It's a place to eat at if you're nearby.

The service here is what really won me over. Everyone was so kind and it felt like family here. The food is comforting and focused on seafood. I really enjoyed their Shrimp Ceviche as it was fresh and tangy with a kick of spice. Definitely good to get a seafood platter to share. It comes with a variety including some fish. The also made it special by celebrating with an hearty flan that was nice and eggy too! The inside has a fun and playful seafood mural as well. It's a no frills space serving up comforting Mexican style seafood!

Seven seas soup.

I was greeted immediately upon entry and the waitress was very patient as I asked several questions about the menu. I was a bit leary because I've been going to the same seafood restaurants. Since I was a little girl. There was this was the first time I went to a different Mariscos and I was very impressed. I will go back very soon.

The waitress was very nice, staff attentive and super friendly atmosphere. Food was delicious, big portions, 2 could share an entree. Will definitely be back and suggest to others.

Fajita with mushrooms!

Honestly I am so disappointed by this place, but I gave them 3 stars because of the waitress and the guacamole was good! I ordered the fajitas which were so disappointing! They added mushrooms which I am allergic to! Second the tilapia had no meat on it and the food was not fresh! As we were eating we noticed the chef opened up a freezer across from us and boom all the frozen seafood was taken out including the oysters! You should just go there for the chips and guacamole!

Hair in my Togo order
Ani M.

I have been eating at this place for years And recently the quality of the food has been slowly getting worse and today after picking up my order and getting home we opened the plate and found hair in our food. Never eating at this place again.

Do they have their own parking lot?

There is a small parking lot but it's shared with two other small businesses. We had no problems parking on a Friday night.

Somebody knows if they have camarones a la diabla?

Yes they do, my wife ordered that when we ate there this past weekend.

Love seafood and the whole works. I heard they even offer you a bib, to get messy, which I am so down for. Anyway, same thing happened at this restaurant. A confidential envelope was posted on the door and we were not able to get in. Both sides of the doors were locked. Some other mail was on the ground and 2 were inside the restaurant. I don't know what is going on with both Oliva and this Crab House restaurants? It was dark inside as I snooped to see what the place looked like, was not able to see anything, except one side of the restaurant the chairs were placed on top of the tables. Again, either they are going out of business, or sold the restaurant to someone else. We dialed their number, no answer, left a message (twice), and no one called us back! Even until today. What a shame!! Was so looking forward to it. We were there on the 7th of this month at 12 noon. My friend drove all the way from Tarzana so we could have had lunch, but both restaurants let us down..

The space is really quite large. I was happy to see there was a seafood counter with a display case of smoked fish, a couple of dips, aged beef. The guys were super friendly behind the counter. I spotted the cafe area where they serve coffees and teas - I made a note that I had to come back to try that. Back to the deli counter - they recommended I try the smoked sea bass since they don't get it in often so I took some of that and a smoked salmon collar. The hand roll bar was empty since it was late in the afternoon but too early for dinner. I promised the sushi chef there that I would return. So I went back today with a couple of friends. We sat at that hand roll bar and had the best hand rolls I've ever had. We ordered a la carte and I absolutely loved those creations - full of flavor, texture - unique and tantalizing! I'm curious to go back and try some of the other things on there like the burger? the shabu shabu? I can't wait to see how they serve those items. Their little market area is fascinating as well - with small bottles of soy sauce aged in bourbon barrels and other delicious sounding ingredients. I did end up taking home a shaker bottle of their house made furikake. Can't wait to try that! I'm so happy this is in the neighborhood. It's a great spot to introduce friends to and serves as inspiration for anyone who loves to cook.

Saturday, October 3rd…read more We arrived right on time and were promptly seated with our friends at a 4 top. The place was bustling and loud. Our waiter came over and took our drink order, Hendricks martini for wifeypie and a Grey Goose martini for moi. Our friends abstained. Our waiter brought our drinks and asked if we wanted to order. I almost laughed. On the inside I was like "Really? You just brought us two martinis, we have been at the table for maybe five minutes and you want to know if we are ready to order?" Actually, I did laugh and declined the offer. We sat for a few minutes catching up with our friends. All the while the maître d' and another gentleman were kibitzing with the person occupying a booth directly behind one of our friends. They kept coming and going, bumping into my friend's chair and talking loudly. My friend kept turning around every time they bumped into him. They would apologize and then continue with the same shit. This went on for over twenty minutes and was quite annoying. We all ordered. Wifeypie had the salmon, I had the deconstructed short rib Wellington. Our friends split the lamb chops, ordered medium, substituting french fries for the mashed potatoes. We all had salads to start. We gabbed, enjoyed our salads and dinner arrived. Wifeypie's salmon looked dry and overcooked. My short rib Wellington was described on the menu as "cabernet-braised short rib, mushrooms, puff pastry, horseradish cream." Our friend's lamb chops were clearly not medium from my vantage point and in the middle of the plate sat a big pile of mashed potatoes. We requested that the server please bring the french fries, as ordered. Wifeypie's salmon was overcooked, but she said it was ok. My Wellington was sitting in a sauce that tasted heavily of truffle oil and nothing like the dish was described. I had to ask for a steak knife as the meat was not butter tender, as a short rib should be. There was one lamb chop on my friend's plate that was almost medium, the rest were well done. The french fries showed up 15 minutes after the entrees, after we had made two requests. I ate about half my dish, it was disappointing. Wifeypie had about half of hers and our friends had two of the four chops on the plate. They did like the french fries however, when they finally arrived! Our waiter did not check on the table until we had stopped eating. At that point my friend pointed out that the chops were overcooked and the waiter actually picked up one of the chops to look at it! "Really????" I have to give credit at least on one point, they did remove the lamb chops from the bill. He asked if we wanted dessert and we all declined. We had indicated on the reservation that it was one of our birthdays. That was ignored. You be the judge. Humbly submitted, Moi

Parking was without stress, it is behind the building and with validation the parking is complimentary from the restaurant. The outside courtyard looks so magical with all the lush trees and the outdoor lights, I love it! Our lecture was inside in the large room, and the seating was plentiful in a board room-like table with large comfortable chairs. To begin we were served fresh bread with whipped butter and Spinach, Kale, and Artichoke dip. Both were delicious and a good whetting to the appetite. Next came the second course, I got the House salad and oh my goodness, that salad was soooo good and a very generous portion that I honestly ended up getting full from the salad! The greens were fresh, and the mix of candied pecans, roasted beets, and goat cheese on top made for a perfect mix of flavors. Probably my very favorite salad that I've eaten in quite a while! For my main course I had ordered the Parmesan Crusted Jidori Chicken Breast which lay on a bed of steamed spinach and Mashed potatoes. I took a few bites to enjoy the fresh cooked meal and then had to have the rest boxed for lunch the next day. Then dessert came, I LOVE creme brulee and it was so light and fluffy and perfect that I ended up eating the whole thing. What was nice is the creme brulee did not feel heavy in my belly and I didn't feel weighed down despite how full I felt! Staff was really kind, they all greeted us and introduced themselves by name and they whisked in and out with our orders and with drink refills. I definitely recommend Davenport's restaurant!!! We were able to walk right in and grab a table as the afternoon rush was over. First, it is a cute restaurant with nice ambiance inside. You can also eat outside it looked like, but it was hot so that was not going to be an option. Started with the mini crab cakes and the tuna on crispy rice. The crab cakes had a good amount of crab in them, which was really nice, but they definitely tasted under seasoned. The tuna on crispy rice was great though, topped with avocado and a spicy mayo. Nice crispiness on the outside, soft rice in the middle, good flavor, just a nice bite. For entrees we tried the chimichuri steak sandwich, the French dip and the lobster roll. The lobster roll looks the part but was light on the actual lobster, in our opinions. Felt the bread to everything else ratio was really off, so it feels like mostly bread with some lobster here and there. The chimichuri steak sandwich comes with arugula, gruyere, roasted peppers and grilled shallots and was a decent bite but not overly memorable. The French dip, on the other hand, was really tasty with that au jus and melted cheese. That was the real winner. Overall, nice ambiance, drinks were decent, some misses and some hits. If you go, definitely get the French dip and the tuna of sticky rice, slip that liner roll and the mini crab cakes and up to you on the chimichuri steak sandwich.
